Does Your Mother Know

Does your mother know
You had to go someday
Does your mother know
That you would go so fast
Anyway, thats all you think about
Youd call her if you could
But the letters that you write
In the faded winter light
Just tell her they tell her
That youve got ten dollars and youll be all right
And when you get straight youre gonna come back east some day
Does your mother know
You have a man in the west
Does your mother know
You drove him from your door
Anyway thats all you think about
Youd call her if you could
Does your mother know
You walked all day in the rain
Does your mother know
How deep your love could be
Anyway thats all you think about
Youd call her if you could
But the letters that you write
In the faded winter light
Just tell her they tell her
That youve got ten dollars and your rent costs eight
And when you get straight youre gonna come back east some day
But the letters that you write in the faded winter light
Just tell her they tell her

Mother In Law

(a. toussaint)
Mother in law, mother in law
Mother in law, mother in law
The worst person I know
Mother in law, mother in law
She worries me so
Mother in law, mother in law
If she leaves us alone
We could have a happy home
Sent from down below
Mother in law, mother in law
Mother in law, mother in law
Satan should be her name
Mother in law, mother in law
To me theyre about the same
Mother in law, mother in law
Everytime I open my mouth
Steps in trying to put me out
How could you stood so low
Mother in law, mother in law
Mother in law, mother in law
Come home with my pay
Mother in law, mother in law
She asks me what I made
Mother in law, mother in law
She thinks her advice is a contribution
If she would leave that would be the solution
Dont come back no more
Mother in law, mother in law
Mother in law, mother in law....

The Wicked Postman

Why do you sit there on the floor so quiet and silent, tell me,
mother dear?
The rain is coming in through the open window, making you all
wet, and you don't mind it.
Do you hear the gong striking four? It is time for my brother
to come home from school.
What has happened to you that you look so strange?
Haven't you got a letter from father today?
I saw the postman bringing letters in his bag for almost
everybody in the town.
Only father's letters he keeps to read himself. I am sure the
postman is a wicked man.
But don't be unhappy about that, mother dear.
Tomorrow is market day in the next village. You ask your maid
to buy some pens and papers.
I myself will write all father's letters; you will not find
a single mistake.
I shall write from A right up to K.
But, mother, why do you smile?
You don't believe that I can write as nicely as father does!
But I shall rule my paper carefully, and write all the letters
beautifully big.
When I finish my writing do you think I shall be so foolish
as father and drop it into the horrid postman's bag?
I shall bring it to you myself without waiting, and letter by
letter help you to read my writing.
I know the postman does not like to give you the really nice
letters.

What a mother should be

A mother is the one who loves you
A mother puts no drug above you
A mother will never make you cry
A mother will never make you want to die
A mother will help you fight your fears
A mother will help you stop your tears
A mother will keep you safe and sound
A mother will never let you down
A mother will daily say I love you
A mother won’t say I hate you
A mother won’t wish you were dead
A mother won’t forget what you said
A mother won’t close the door
A mother won’t let you be poor
Now I ask you, do you have a mother?
Cause’ I don’t, so don’t bother.

What is a mother? A mother is a friend.
What is a mother? A mother is your hero.
What is a mother? A mother is someone who can make your wishes comes true.
What is a mother? A mother is sugar and spice.
What is a mother? A mother knows all the coolest music and style.

I still need a mother

I need a mother who would love me
I need a mother who would take care of me
I need a mother who would understand me
I need a mother for who I am
I need a mother to know me
I need a mother who would be there for me
I need a mother who would not yell at her son
I need a mother who won't push her son away
I need a mother who would not throw me out of her life

Even though I still need a mother
Everyday I try to be nice
Sometime she don't care about me
What I need is a mother who would be there for me
I need a mother who would watch me grow
I need a mother who would celebrate my birthday
I need a mother who would miss me

I need a mother to cry on
I need a mother to know that her son loves her

But she won't let me know her
What I need is a mother

Who is no more now.

Wanted — A Theme

THE spring is here again, mother! she bursts upon our sight,
Like a young girl in her bridal dress, all bloom, and love, and light;
The birds from out the sunny South, Heaven-guided, hither come;
And earth is very fair, mother, far round our cottage home.

A spell is on my heart, mother, a deep, mysterious spell;
I feel the mighty tide of song within my spirit swell!
Then find for me a theme, mother, a theme to write upon,
Ere breaks that spell, and ere that tide has ebbed away and gone.

I Could write of the fields, mother, the dark and waving woods,
The bursting flowers, the clinging vines, the water falls and floods;
But then the world would say, mother, although 't were done up neat,
That I was in a beaten track, a-following that Street.

I might weave lays like rose-wreaths, mother, and fling them left and right,
All odorous with the breath of love, and glowing with its light;
But though 't were all a sham, mother, wise ones their heads would shake,
And they'd say I was in love, mother, which were a sad mistake.

I could write of the West, mother, — tell many a back woods tale;
But 'Mary Clarets' long ago chanted on that happy trail.
And ' went it with a rush,' mother, as all the world agree,
And made ' a powerful sight' of fun, and left no laugh for me.

I could write on the wars, mother, the soldier's glorious life, —
I sometimes think it is my forte to sing of scenes of strife;
But I 've avowed 'peace principles,' and may not call them back.
So I cannot write of war, mother, — I must take another tack.

The terrible might do, mother, — some wild, unearthly story;
I might ride, for a Pegasus, a nightmare into glory.
But then that 'Raven' there, mother, above that 'chamber-door,'
I asked him if 't would be a hit, — quoth the raven, 'Never more!'

I might plead for the poor, mother, the wronged and the oppressed,
And give a flash of freedom's fire, deep burning in my breast;
But they'd say I was a fanatic, a-battling with weak straws
Against the mighty Union, and the almighty laws.

The fooleries of the beau-monde, mother, should I write on as I feel,
The ladies fair would vote me odd, and not at all genteel;
And ah, the lordly sex, mother, their ire would heaviest fall, —
They'd vow I was a sour old maid, — and that were worse than all!

I think I'll off to bed, mother, — I 'm tired, and then it's late;
The horse I rode this afternoon had such a shocking gait!
So do not early break, mother, my deep and soft repose,
For I love a morning doze, mother, — I love a morning doze.

Like No Other...Mother

Mother...

Mother, who gave us her heart...her very soul.
Mother, who's understanding never wavered.
Mother, the one who dried our tears.
Mother, she lead us to the path of His Love.
Mother, who washed our cloths and cleaned the house.
Mother, who instilled confidence in her children.
Mother, who walked us to school.
Mother, who loved us like no other.
Mother, who quelled the anger within us.
Mother, who drove us to all our practices.
Mother, who never forgot our special occasions.
Mother, who protected her family, as a lion to a cub.
Mother, who always supported our father.
Mother, who scrimped and saved for our daily needs.
Mother, who was always the last to eat.
Mother, who was always the first to rise.
Mother, who cared for the animals.
Mother, a love that knew no limits.
Mother, who forever placed her family, before herself.
Mother, who was grateful, for every passing acknowledgement.
Mother, whose eyes shined, when she heard the words,
I love you mom.
Mother, who always saw the good in us.
Mother, who always taught us to never, never, give up.
Mother, who instilled in us, to be better.
Mother, who made us believe, we could accomplish anything.
Mother, mother...mother, you were like no other.

Mother, you will always remain, in our
hearts, in our deeds, in our thoughts,
in our lives and in our prayers.

Surely, beyond the stars, there's a special place for Mothers.

Bad Boy

I woke up from the drink I had
The room was dark and suddenly began to swirl
I should of heeded mothers words
She said shed heard it said you were a naughty girl
But what does a mother know
That we really need to know
And what would she say if she knew
Na na na na youre just a bad boy
Who, who, who
Na na na na theyll drive you mad boy
Who, who, who
But mother, what a way to go
I looked out as the sun came up
I shook my head and said I really should be gone
I grabbed my shoes and daily news
And walked out in the heat beneath the summer sun
But father was there outside with no place to run and hide
He looked most upset as he said whereve you been?
Na na na na youre just a bad boy
Who, who, who
Na na na na theyll drive you mad boy
Who, who, who
But mother, what a way to go
But what if shed walked in and caught us
Do you think shed have been shocked
The way that she talked youd think I was a daughter
Anyway the door was locked
I know that mother disagrees
But I would really like to see you again
And if you want to see me too
Then meet me in the bushes at the river bend
And no one will find us out
cause no one will be about
But still I can hear them all say
Na na na na youre just a bad boy
Who, who, who
Na na na na theyll drive you mad boy
Who, who, who
But mother, what a way to go

Mother the biggest gift of Allah to us

Mother the biggest gift of Allah to us
Mother the candle burn herself to light our life
Mother the other name of kindness
Mother who hold us nine month and suffer
Mother who feed us from her blood and milk
Mother stays sleepless all the nights holding us
Mother teach us how to walk and talk
Mother guides us and secures us
Mother loves us from start to end
Mother is mother no one can take her place

A Child’s Prayer

HOLY MOTHER! Holy Mother!
In the dark I fear.
Light me with thy shining eyes,
Be thou ever near.

Holy Mother! Holy Mother!
Call thy little Son,
Bid Him bring me praying dreams
Ere the night be done.

Call the angels, call them early,
Bid them fly to thee,
One to call the little birds,
One to waken me.

Tie Your Mother Down

Get your party gown and get your pigtail down
And get your heart beatin' baby
Got my timin' right I got my act all tight
It's gotta be tonight
My little school babe
Your momma says you don't
And your daddy says you won't
And I'm boilin' up inside
Ain't no way I'm gonna lose out this time
Tie your mother down
Tie your mother down
Get your fanny out the door
I don't need him nosin' around
Tie your mother down
Tie your mother down
Give me all your love tonight
'Go get outa my house you're such a dirty louse'
That's all I ever get from you
They cut me down to size
In fact I don't think I ever heard
A single little civil word from those guys
I don't give a light
I'm gonna make out all right
I've got a sweetheart hand
To put a stop to all that
Screamin' and fussin'
Tie your mother down
Tie your mother down
Take your little brother swimmin'
With a brick that's all right
Tie your mother down
Tie your mother down
Or you ain't no friend of mine
You ain't no friend of mine
Your momma and your daddy
Gonna plague me till I die
I can't understand it
I'm a peaceful guy
Tie your mother down
Tie your mother down
Get that big big big big big big
Fanny out the door
Tie your mother down yeah
Tie your mother down
Give me all your love tonight
All your love tonight

A Mother's Heart.

Mother's heart is always so PURE,
That always makes you CURE.
Mother's heart always WORRIES,
When she hears kids QUERIES.
Mother's heart is always with COMFORT,
When kids are in TROUBLE.
Mother's heart is always STRONG,
When we try to mend our WRONGS.
Mother's heart is always at TASK,
When we always ASK.
Mother's heart is always at CALL,
When we always FALL.
Mother's heart is always RIGHT,
When we take things LIGHT.

And if I had a choice of Mother's -
You would be the on I'd select.

Its amazing
How you make your face just like a wall
How you take your heart and turn it off
How I turn my head and lose it all
Its unnerving
How just one move puts me by myself
There you go just trusting someone else
Now I know I put us both through hell
Im not saying there wasnt nothing wrong
I just didnt think youd ever get tired of me
Im now saying we ever had the right to hold on
I just didnt wanna let it get away from me
But if thats how its gonna leave
Straight out from underneath
Then well see whos sorry now
If thats how its gonna stand, when
You know youve been depending on
The one youre leaving now
The one youre leaving out
Its aggravating
How you threw me on and you tore me out
How your good intentions turn to doubt
The way you needed time to sort it out
Im not saying there wasnt nothing wrong
I just didnt think youd ever get tired of me
Im now saying we ever had the right to hold on
I just didnt wanna let it get away from me

My Real Goddess

Today my mother
Came to my house
With lots of blessing
And full of good wishing
To live long
Happy and healthy
Progressive and wealthy
My mother
My sweet mother
My beautiful mother
My loving mother
My real goddess
My ever goodness
My first lady I loved
My life my mother
My soul my mother
My God-gift my mother
My pride my mother
My aim my mother
My teacher my mother
My friend my mother
My preacher my mother
My daughter's face look-like my mother
My daughter my little mother
O the Absolute Almighty
Give me my mother
Again and again
And again and again
My mother
Only my mother.

Mother Dawn

Hold me, hold me
Breathe the light into me
Hold me, hold me
Mother dawn
Mother dawn
Dancing round the fire
Circling the flame
Listen to the shadows calling out my name
They say
Rock me like a baby
Cradle me in the light
Bathe me in a rainbow
Sun restore my sight
Hold me, hold me
Breathe the light into me
Hold me, hold me
Mother dawn (all night long yeah)
Hold me, hold me
Breathe the light into me (all night long yeah)
Hold me, hold me
Mother dawn
Look into the light
Come and take a journey through the land of night
Darkness strokes the face and
Steals away the sight
Night is all around me
Stars are in my hair
I feel them tangled in the secrets well
Find hidden there all right
Reaching through the madness
To the other side
Where the sun is rising
With her arms held wide
Hold me, hold me
Breathe the light into me
Hold me, hold me
Mother dawn (all night long yeah)
(till the dawn light comes)
Hold me, hold me
Breathe the light into me (all night long yeah)
Hold me, hold me
Mother dawn (all night long)
(I know youre gonna love me)
(I know youre gonna love me)
One star flew against the tapestry of the night
And the earth revolved in perfect symmetry
To a symphony of sun
The moon danced its final bow
As the birth of day
Exploded
In my eyes
Reaching through the madness
To the other side
Where the sun is rising
With her arms held wide
Rock me like a baby
Cradle me in light
Youre gonna bathe me in a rainbow
And the sun restore my sight
Hold me, hold me
Breathe the light into me
Hold me, hold me
Mother dawn
Hold me, hold me (all night long yeah)
Breathe the light into me
(till the dawn light comes yeah)
Hold me, hold me (all night long yeah)
Mother dawn (I know youre gonna love me yeah)
I know youre
Gonna love me
All night long yeah
Till the dawn light comes
All night long yeah
I know youre gonna love me love me
All night long yeah
Till the dawn light comes
All night long yeah
I know youre gonna love me love me
