Absent Elements
Everyone plays along
Get them giving or steal the life theyre breathing
Theyll grow sickened
Take their secret codes and signals
Discover all they know
Keep up the pace now until it all dries up
Youll never find out now
That all these absent elements
Build your comfortable defense stronger still
Like an emptiness
Way too early to consider losing
Vacant staring may discover some reflection
Or may discover none
Just think what youve done
And watch it all add up
Like an emptiness youll never fill
Find out now
If all these absent elements
Build your comfortable defense
Stronger still
Like an emptiness you'll never fill.

Something' Is Obvious About It
There is a lot of emptiness these days.
People are trying to fill up these spaces,
As quickly as possible.
Unsatisfied with themselves and where they are.
And doing the best they can not to find blame.
Or be ashamed to discover they are alone!
Whether from failed relationships.
Or a disappointed lifestyle,
They had to strip away from!
Or vice versa!
Either way...
There is a lot of emptiness these days.
And reality is not fooling around.
Delusions are at a premium!
And few seem to be able to keep them around.
Planting one's feet on the ground...
To feel some Earth below them,
Is highly recommended.
There is a lot of emptiness these days.
And if anyone is seeking companionship...
Or someone else that has been around the block.
Make sure that person has done that,
And climbed a few skyscrapers as well.
The chances you will see eye to eye...
May not be all that difficult!
Especially...
After the mind has been cleared of fantasies.
And that has been agreed upon.
With a maturity,
That does not have not to be convinced.
'Something' is obvious about it!
There is a lot of emptiness these days.
And few seem to be pointing fingers,
At anyone with or without a consciousness.
What 'is' does not provide escapes for anyone!
Everyone is either holding...
Or pacing with a racing breath.

if you leave
leave at once
for i have nothing
to say,
others ask
what to say when someone
you love says
about leaving?
i say
go, go, find what is lacking
find that which must complete you
and if you are empty still
do not come back to me
for i am empty too
how can emptiness fill another
emptiness?
mine will always be an invitation
i care
but once refused
there is no where
where you can find me
i am also gone
searching what you have been searching
but now it
shall not be you
i'll have someone else
who can fill
my own emptiness

Bottom Of The Glass
You think that you have found a way to ease your troubled mind
You fill a glass, then drink it down and fill it one more time
Well, the wine will flow and the pain will go but the spell will never last
Youll never find the answer in the bottom of the glass
Youll never find the answer in the bottom of the glass
Well, the bottom of the glass is just as empty as your life
You know it holds no secret way to help you in your strife
But for a while youre in another world and you wake up in the past
Youll never find the answer in the bottom of the glass
Youll never find the answer in the bottom of the glass
...glass
That bottle there is not your friend when its gone it leaves you cold
The strength it gives you slips away for its something you cant hold
Your hands will shanke and then youll take another from the flask
But youll never find the answer in the bottom of the glass
Youll never find the answer in the bottom of the glass
Youll never find the answer in the bottom of the glass
Youll never find the answer in the bottom of the glass

Thru My Eyes
Its never where you think youll find it
The thing you think youre looking for
It could take you all your lifetime
And still youd never quite be sure
You could look everywhere
Because you know its there
Somewhere beneath the sky
But too close and youll get burned
Theres no lesson learned
Yet some people pass it by
Youll see things different when you look thru my eyes
Things are different if you see what I see
Just look closely and youll see thru my eyes
It could be different, youll see how it could be,
If you can see
You may need help to find your way home
Those who brought you here have flown
The road you take is full of hope or sadness
The choice you make will be your own
But youre not alone in there
Just say hello in there
Cos there are many just like you
Theyll help you find someway
To make it all the way
Theyll tell you all you have to do
Youll see things different when you look thru my eyes
Things are different if you see what I see
Just look closely and youll see thru my eyes
It could be different, youll see how it could be,
If you can see
No one warns you of the heartache
No one can hide you from the storm
But from the shadows there will come the sunshine
A place to dry and keep you warm
Though no one tells you how
Your hearts beating faster now
Getting stronger day by day
Suddenly its clear, what you seek is near
Its what you learn along the way
Its never where you think youll find it
The thing you think you re looking for
Well it could take you all your lifetime
Still youll never quite be sure
Youll find it, just look closer

Empty Holes
Fill up the empty holes in my life.
Fill them before it's too late.
Find the missing qualities I have
and let the emptiness abate.
Recognition of these things I need
must be foremost in my mind.
Or the empty holes that need attention
will probably be left behind.
They will follow me like burned out stars
that cannot shine again.
And the emptiness I feel inside
will mark my journey's end.

Marriage and Love
Marriage gives life to love and love gives life to marriage.
In marriage, love means:
To know in your heart you were meant only for each-other.
To know that Heaven grew you apart and brought you together after the time you were meant to be molded to fit each-other.
To discover what it is to be best friends forever.
To discover what it is to love someone more than yourself.
To discover you are actually only a half and how much you need the other to be complete.
To discover the bonds that form when times get tough.
To discover how much more joy is multiplied when there is someone you love to share it with.
Each day is a day of discovery, a day to build your love, a day to make your bond stronger.
Marriage is:
To together choose one way, not one's own way.
To respect and honor with love the other over oneself or anyone else.
To compromise with each-other but never compromising each-other.
To know you are loved, wanted and needed whether you are fat or thin, well or ill, chirpy or grumpy.
To live life's summer, winter, autumn and spring always being there for one another.
To blend as one that over the years you feel as one and speak as one.
To be savored like wine, enriched by the passing of time.
To honor Marriage is to honor its Maker. To commit in marriage is to commit to its Maker.

Nothing Is Easy
Nothing is easy.
Though time gets you worrying
My friend, its o.k.
Just take your life easy
And stop all that hurrying,
Be happy my way.
When tension starts mounting
And youve lost count
Of the pennies youve missed,
Just try hard and see why theyre not worrying me,
Theyre last on my list.
Nothings easy.
Nothing is easy, youll find
That the squeeze wont turn out so bad.
Your fingers may freeze, worse things happen at sea,
Theres good times to be had.
So if youre alone and youre down to the bone,
Just give us a play.
Youll smile in a while and discover
That Ill get you happy my way --
Nothings easy.

Lonely
Emptiness in my heart
Emptiness in my soul,
Emptiness in my life
Loneliness takes it's toll.
Nobody to love me
Nobody to care,
Trapped in this lonely world
For nobody is there.
Lonely while standing
In a crowded room,
But screaming to be noticed
When locked in my tomb.
I just want to love
And be loved in return,
Somebody take my heart
And show some concern.
I'm lonely and it hurts
I'm crying in pain,
Somebody help me
My heart is slain.
Fill my lonely heart
Fill my lonely soul,
Fill my lonely life
Make me feel whole.

Use Once & Destroy
Its the emptiness that follows you there
Its the ache insides when it burns out
Its poisonous it muscles it aches
Its everything you had when it breaks
Its the emptiness thats all you have left
Too terrified of your frozen breath
Its a bitter mouth its burned and knived
Its the awful truth you fight for your life
It might as well it might as well hurt
It might as well it might as well
I went down to rescue you
I went all the way down
Fill your hungry wretched life
Here they come its closing time
Its the bitter root its twisted inside
Its the heart you used to have when it died
Its the emptiness it poisons it lies
Its everything that youll never find
It might as well it might as well hurt
It might as well it might as well
I went down for the remains
Sort through all your blurs and stains
Take your rapture blister burns
Stand in line its not your turn
All dressed in red, always the bride
Off with her head, all dressed in white
Off with her head
I went down to rescue you
I went all the way down
I went down for the remains
Sort through all your blurs and stains
Ooh, I will follow you
Anytime, anywhere
Ooh, I will come for you
Just say you arent there

Mighty Love
Once there was a boy and girl
Boy said I love you so
Girl said Ill never leave you
They grew older and left each other
cause thats the way love goes
Then theres a time
Seems like youll never find
Someone willing to love you
Keep on looking youll soon discover
A mighty love
Can sometimes make a weak man moan
Said a mighty love
You sit all day by the telephone
cause youre all alone
You need a mighty love
Some say that youre sure to find
True love and piece of mind
At the end of the rainbow
Theres no sign in the sky to follow
cause thats the way love goes
And so theres a rhyme
That says life will soon be fine
Love is just what you make it
Keep on loving, youll soon discover
A mighty love
Can sometimes make a weak man strong
A mighty love
Can sometimes make a rich man weep
And knock him off his feet
To have a mighty love

Venice Drowning
Venice breathing, shiny shoe mirrors of sex and violence,
In the purple evening silence, venice dreaming of a partner.
Fill your arms with breasts of marble, from the cradle to the table
Coax this naked treasure, from your saviour.
Come swim into my love
Come swim into my life
Divine blasphemer tempting, holly beads of jism
With a scarlet catechism, her lips will answer
(ah, her lips will answer)
How to be, the perfect stranger, the perfect lover - wanting
And as youll discover - giving, and as youll discover - being.
Come swim into my love
Come swim into my life
Enter this sublime corrosion
Venice drowning in emotion
-
(the body stirs, and is reanimated, only briefly,
But then life is very brief)
(come swim into my life)
(come swim into my life)
(ah-ahh ah-ah ah-ah-whoo heyyey)
Venice drowning!
Venice drowning!
Venice drowning!
Venice drowning!
Venice drowning!
Venice drowning! (slowly disappearing..)
Venice drowning! (slowly disappearing..)
Venice drowning! (slowly disappearing..)
Venice drowning!.... (slowly disappearing..)

Big Ol Fire
One of these days youll turn around
And wanna get out of this someday town
Well people gonna laugh you know what theyll say
Youre never gonna get away
Well therell be fear and therell be doubt
But theyre just things thatll slow you down
Just put em all in a great big pile
And stand back
Chorus
And burn, baby like a big ol fire
Build it up with your one desire
And one of these days you just might change their minds
Shine the light, blind em by
A big ol fire
A big ol fire
And one of these days youll find someone
Who lights you up like the rising sun
But hes been hurt and he wont feel
Like handin you a heart of steel
Well dont you run now just you stay
cause youre the one that can melt away
The loneliness down in his heart
Just take him in your arms
2nd chorus
And burn baby like a big ol fire
Build it up with your one desire
And one of these days you just might find the love
Youre dreaming of, risin up a big ol fire
Bridge
And when you get to where youre goin
All youll leave behind is ashes smolderin
When you find the love youve always wanted
Never let it die
Repeat 1st chorus

In The Ones You Love
(marsha malamet/liz vidal)
From your lips to gods ear
May every wish and every prayer find its way
Always be heard and every day
May you see them answered
In the ones you love
In the ones who love you
Your hearts reflection comes shining through
Brighter than the sun
Stronger than you knew
In the ones you love
In the ones who love you
With each tear, with each smile
May you hold life dear
Learning all the wise
What cant be changed, try to accept
And though youll make mistakes
May you find forgiveness
In the ones you love
In the ones who love you
Your hearts reflections comes shining through
Brighter than the sun
Stronger than you knew
In the ones you love
In the ones who love you
And in the ones you love (love)
Find shelter and have faith (faith)
And through whatever comes (comes)
Rejoice and celebrate (celebrate)
In the ones who love you
Your hearts reflection comes shining through

Tutta La Vita
(lucio dalla; translated by davitt sigerson)
Twice in a lifetime if youre really really lucky
You may discover why you were brought here
Tutta la vita you try to find your destination
You search for the truth, you try to make communication
All of your life
Tutta la vita asking where is the party?
Its not a mansion in malibu or a facelift at forty
No you wont find it there
Love is everywhere
If youll only dare to try
Its not on a map so we all have to muddle through
You cant get there in a car--not even your bmw
Twice in a lifetime youll know the answer
Once when you find love
Once when you give love to another
Yes--you will find it there
Love is everywhere
If youll only dare to fly

Emptiness Comes
EMPTINESS COMES
Emptiness comes-
There is nothing to say
Nothing to write-
But Nothing is for me only nothing
It is not the goal and the meaning-
Egolessness belongs to saints of a certain kind
I am not a saint-
Emptiness disappears with the writing
Words and meanings come-
I suppose one will be empty forever
When one is alive
What can Emptiness give?
I have written against the Emptiness
And am less empty now for now-
Thank God I no longer feel empty now-

Ponies
This song appears on three albums, and was first released on the different directions album, and has also been released on the gift you are and the john denver collection - take me home, country
S albums.
Somewhere out on the prairie
Is the greatest cowboy thats ever been
And when he lays his hands upon the ponies
They shudder with an understanding skin
And he says ponies
Now ponies dont you worry
I have not come to steal your fire away
I want to fly with you across the sunrise
Discover what begins each shining day
When the storm clouds in the west
Are quickly gathering
The ponies they run wild there
Before it rains
Youll see their sleek dark bodies
Brightly gleaming
You know the fire is flying through
Their brains
And he says ponies
Now ponies dont you worry
I have not come to steal your fire away
I want to fly with you across the sunrise
Discover what begins each shining day
And he says ponies
Now ponies dont you worry
I have not come to steal your fire away
I want to fly with you across the sunrise
Discover what begins each shining day
And he says ponies
Ponies dont you worry
I have not come to steal your fire away
I want to fly with you across the sunrise
Discover what begins each shining day
I want to fly

Nothing?
you are everything i have
the sun where every planet in me
revolves
you are every space i have
and i am lost
in your vastness
shine on me
find me
light the darkness that engulfs me
touch me
make me live again
i am nothing without you
you are the sun and i am the emptiness that surrounds
your brightness
fill me
i am this emptiness that completes
the abundance of your heat and light
do not doubt
i am the space that completes you
and this is the irony
the paradox of which without me you are nothing too

Around My World In 80 Days
And now weve finally reached the point
And you want to get in
I guess that I should tell you
That theres just one thing
Just a little journey, I have to send you on
Just to figure out
Where Im coming from
And where you do belong
Around my world in 80 days
Maybe more if it pays
Around my love, my evil ways
Around my head in 80 days
Discover dungeons of dispair
That is what you have to share
If you walk this way with me
But our love will make us free
Might be that youll like it
Could be that youre shocked
But dont hesitate to open doors
That seem locked
Maybe youll find fear
Maybe youll see clear
Maybe youll find an open heart
So sincere
That wants you to be near
Around my world in 80 days...
