Kismet
(words & music by sid tepper - roy c. bennett)
When you meet by chance, its not by chance
Its kismet
When two hearts stand still, its destinys will
Its kismet
The wheel of fortune spins, round and around it goes
Who will the arrow point to, only kismet knows
Until you came by, kismet and i, were strangers
But now that youre here, its suddenly clear weve met
This is my lucky day, loves in the cards Id say
Thanks to kismet, kismet, kismet
Until you came by, kismet and I were strangers
But now that youre here, its suddenly clear weve met
This is my lucky day, loves in the cards Id say
Thanks to kismet, kismet, kismet

(I'm Always Touched) By Your Presence Dear
Was it destiny
I don't know yet
Was it just by chance? Could this be Kismet?
Something in my consciousness told me you'd appear
Now I'm always touched by your presence dear
When we play at cards you use an extra sense (it's really not cheating)
You can read my hand

Nelson’s Lament
Its fate Hardy.
I, the greatest admiral in History
The saviour of my beloved England.
Fated to sail with ignorant seamen
For when I say ‘kismet Hardy’,
I mean fate.
They think I said
‘Kiss me Hardy’
Thus I am consigned in the annuals of history
As a ‘queer boy’.

Stage, Film, and Much More
Conductors are made on Cloud Seven
An honour bestowed up in Heaven:
Each classical chord
Is a gift from the Lord
Ask the Master himself,
Andre Previn.
The world will never forget
Porgi & Bess, and Kismet
A Conductor of fame
London Symphony's the name.
Honours grace the top shelf
For the Master himself,

Ambitions
Ambitions worshipped by you stand to command,
Like a deity of strength and length, masterful.
Elections prevail to connect laws to laws to laws,
Lines on the effects of labour shall be drawn.
The grid livens and exactly arranges us,
The kismet of a danger is around, all around us.
Kinsman of a man shall be avowing the result
Of a new day and night, the days of the nights.
May aims be directed like the deities to shoot,
Shooting a bullet into the heart, for the ambition.

Fortune Fish
Fortune fish from the sea,
Come and bring good luck to me.
I need some luck brought my way,
Swim through the currents to me today.
Fish of fate and destiny,
I ask you to hear my plea.
Fortune fish from the sea,
Come and bring good luck to me.
Fish of kismet please swim near,
I wish for positive karma here.
Fortune fish from the sea,
Come and bring good luck to me.

Game of Life (In Love)
We both want each other so why play the games?
One minute is kismet & the next is insane
We both want each other but I gotta be sure
If you’re addicted to playing then I’ll be your cure
The passionate words are for your ears
Unlike all the noises the neighbors can hear
When we’re oceans apart our souls ache for our touch
After years of the fights we still can’t get enough
Through thick fields of gossip and very thin pockets
Love has survived though your parents don’t like it
They say you’re angry most at the ones you’d die for
It’s no wonder then we’re always at war
The affairs of the heart are not for the faint
If you accept all the love then accept all the pain
Two lovers in love need a base that’s so strong
If their heart skips a beat they can still get along

Fate, Kismet, and Karma
There is no accidental meeting…
Between kindred souls
For your fate is made, as surely is time fleeting
And no more stranger than quasars and black holes
It's all preordained in some grand cosmic way
Beyond mortal bounds or human control
The people you meet, what you do or say
Is not managed by you…e'en in part or in whole
Though you might think differently in the course of the day
That you're making the rules…writing your own roles
The Gods laugh their asses off and to each other say:
"What impudence: to think that they set their own goals! "
For it's Fate, Kismet, and Karma, that in the end sets the way
For those "accidental meetings, between kindred souls"

Mulch ado about nothing?
She took a leaf from off her favourite tree
and held it to the light within her heart.
The pictures it portrayed of what may be
were sadly lacking that one vital part.
She'd hoped the leaf had held some of the two,
who'd sat beneath it's shade so many times.
She sought to see the things they'd yet to do
had they not been exposed to Kismet's crimes.
But, as the leaf was newly born this year
it held none of the essence which she sought.
It hadn't known the love, the hope, the fear.
It knew not of her calculated plot.
She watched it fall to ground, one passing thought.
She walked away, and left it, there to rot.

Master Of Your Own Domain?
It's out of your hands
Beyond your control
No matter your demands
No matter your goal
The alarm commands
When you arise
The clock demands
When to open or close your eyes
Your appetite determines
What and when you partake
Your thirst decides
Of what and when to slake
Your education, not you,
Determines the course you take
And an indifferent boss
Decides how much you make
The car you drive
Is not chosen by your labors
But by the herd instinct
To keep up with your neighbors
Even one's appearance
Is not totally within one's means
Since even your visage is controlled
By crazy combinations of genes
So call it Kismet, call it Karma,
name it Fate if you so deign.
You'll not… were never…
nor ever, will truly reign
(think "George Costanza")
As master of your own domain

Rites which Rights Forget
Disembark repressive self-control
Try, fly, soar high, reversing former role,
self-sacrifice (however noble cause)
is self-destruction tunnelling blind mole.
Is there a yonder-land? Eternal kiss?
can Kismet compensate for souls we miss?
hope, honor, harmony may music make -
but once departed echoes sonic hiss.
Refuse scorched Phoenix flight from embers torn
right thing for the wrong reason when reborn,
straitjackets fall when soul's prepared to change
and range upon strange paths ignoring scorn.
Hadj is within, not Meccan pilgrimage,
let youth's top spin, forgetfullness with age
takes carefreeness and fun, converting both
to rites which rights forget, internal cage!

Yaad sata-ey hai mujh ko jehan bachpan guzra pyar-oon mai
Uss deis ki mati ki khushboo aaj bhi hai fazaoon mai

Na koi chitty aatey hai aur na koi dastak deta hai
Kiss see ab faryad karoon…dil buhat ye roota hai
Iss des mai mera dana pani kyon kilha tu ne ae rab

Passage Of Love
Buxom breasts, shrouding the wealth
Of an endowment, like no other
The devotion of motherhood, luscious copious vats
Hibernating infancy
Opened by the doors of puberty
To an ocean of opportunity, to anchor to her fatum
To snare the roaming man to her flaunting summits
To lavish upon the yearning heart, the veil of lust, the meat of love
To metamorphose her shrine for a miraculous symbiosis
As finally, her inheritance from the Gods, has embraced kismet's palms
The bequest of a symbiotic growth, nibbling her teats
Suckling her tips to engender the flow
Of the most altruistic of wealth, tides of gushing milk
A narrative of legends, where blood loses her titian luster
To embrace virgin white coats of an apical affection
Dispensed in to the yearning cavities of a fledgling toddler
The selfless passage of a potent legacy
Founded on the principle of love

Featherfall
When my place in the firmament
Becomes permanent
I cannot help but wonder
What others will have to say
'He wanted to be a journalist
With his being he yearned for this
Set about that sojourn of his
But endured a bit of turbulence
Along the way
And so he arrived here
And we're gathered here today
In-laws, outlaws, surrogates and termagants
We lost a good man
Loved strongly by those around him
Tonight we sing in praise of God
It's a shame he never really found Him.
Upon the unbearable lightness of heaven's scales
Does the sound of our hymning weigh
Our boy wrote like Wilde
But wound up the Hemingway.'
Some heads will come unsteadier
From a questioning of fate
And some hearts will become much heavier
From a lessening of faith
But perhaps beyond the understandable
There lives something livable
Where I'll have gone on
To embody the invisible
In the eternal resting station
That defies estimation
And serves as cradle to an altogether
Different destination
Just as I'm lowered into the burial ground
My spirit flees the tomb and assumes the aerial crown
A-tisket A-tasket
Kismet can be so tragic
Beautiful young mother
Come kiss the casket
Someone who knows well the toll of detachment
Will enlighten hurting souls with a blissful facet
'I didn't know him well,
But he seemed like an alright dude
In the end I guess he left
Because he had every right to.'

Houdini of Melancholy
Revolutions and renaissances
Of the melancholic heart
As it plucks the strings of rejuvenation
From a winter's hibernation
Where the soul ceased to exist
Maceration of the heart to abyssal depths
Yet amidst the furor of the tempest
A renegade primordial flame flickered
A bonfire of residual hope, awaiting a gentle thrust from kismet's palms
To throw open, the corridors of a humble prosperity
A nimble phoenix rising from the ashes of subjugation
For the germination of dormant dreams
To cultivate mirth, in the bleakest of land
To lavish upon the heart, a titanic endowment
The buoyancy of a feather, the vivacity of a fleeting rhapsody
The strength of a bison yet the culture of a fidalgo
The courage of a crusader yet the humility of a slave
The suppleness of the wind streaming past crowded valleys
The honesty of the full moon with her bare-naked craters
Armed with blades of love and a shield of honor
For a tryst with destiny, in my juggernaut of life

An Ultimate Subpoena
A subpoena has been issued by the mighty judge.
Would you seek legal counsel for your case?
Apparently no counsel is available in this case.
In this court you alone must defend yourself?
No attorney anywhere has the power to subpoena you to this court.
No criminal defense lawyer anywhere has right to you defend?
No Government and Administrative Law to here with contend.
No Higher Court or Supreme Court to appeal to take your brief?
You have rendered unto Caesar what is Caesars.
Now it is time to render unto God what is Gods.
This is the Highest Court; in time all will face.
This is the scariest court; deciding eternal fate.
This one judgement; is binding for all eternity.
There will be no court of appeal; Jesus is ultimate judge.
I submit to you; that the milk of human kindness;
is a simple yet time tested; cosmic plan grand.
In the words of Fate Karma Kismet Destiny; or Hope Heavenly?
A creed of excellence; this is a real rewarding life philosophy.
Upon which to make a life time stand; as your indelible testimony.
Yet alas Jesus said; ‘I am the way and the truth and the light.
No one comes to the Father except through me.’ John 14: 6.
Accepting the blood
ransom sacrifice of Jesus
to cover all sin guilt
is the only pardon
permissible in this court
where all tried are guilty!

Rubaiyat Of A Silicate Syndicate
So on this chequerboard of dames and knights
I see some scribblers write on what one writes
Long having writ move on from point to point
In chase of name for fame the flaming wights!
CAn moving finger that its game displays
SIng on with w[h}ine flask, bread and lisping lays
LIfe spend sans end with epigrams to tease
CAuse and Effect with well sustainèd blaze?
Shall I with hope lend you kaleidoscope
In hand expand with this collide! - O scope!
Let no crimes in my name be here engraved
If once cast down - dug up once again sounds dope!
CApacity conundrum from abyss
SIghs upwards with a timeless Kismet kiss,
LInks through the quintessential to prepare
CAse study never muddy, bearing bliss.
Slips startled from the superficial gear
Insist from shallows all to high idea
Lief rise to skies so sonorous, ne'er leave
Intact the piffle peddled on the ear!
CAter not unto the crowds that throng
SIft out the dross - their loss and not your wrong -
LIght shines as penetration venerates
CAst nets which fish with strokes surprising strong.
Sight is reclaimed, as eyes inflamed surmise
Insight is gleamed, well streamed despite disguise,
Lifting veils beyond which few can see -
Incandescence in a subtle guise.

SItuation shadow shape and sun
LIttle difference know, yet grow to flow,
CAre not for shade when end is light begun!

A Mercenary
The soil as his witness, walking on footpaths
Self-laid, the soul a renegade
No ownerships of the reckless heart
Except for an illusory god, hung by a thread
The soul pacifier in this no man's land
Walking in alleyways and backstreets
In cocaine country, pushed by the palms of fate
To a frontier, where destiny is snorted up the nostrils
To soar to the heights of Seraphim, towering above the heavens
A shrouded mission of a lone warrior, a man of many masks
Blending in to the theatrics of the narcotic kings
As humanity is razed for their daily wages
Where powders reign, deceptively virgin in hue
On table tops and within hollow chambers of ungainly barrels
As law men fall like the Amazonian rainforests
Logs of human flesh covered in sanguine coats
Floating on to river banks and beds
Yet he thrives in this bloodshed landscape
A chameleon in thespian action, fusing in to the bleakest of backdrops
Even snorting bliss, as anointment, an investiture to a ominous practice
For a resonating fraternity within a prospering cartel
Waiting for kismet to lend in a gentle push, for the final chapter
To spell the doomsday for a thriving trade
A crusader with a heart of a lion and the loyalty of a templar
Sketching the Armageddon of powder's hold

Soul of the Crown
On my road
to Damascus
and his, a Lazarus;
albeit
in his pyrrhic victory.
Like David and Goliath,
whose laugh, loose-limbed.
Loaded, thus
sure and right
in nods to states of mine_ leonine.
Hither and yon, gilded.
Sharing souls
as taking up the gaunlet
by the spirits
girded up and out;
whence upon this,
not alone wanting.
Thus
honeyed and silvery
in a protean politesse
in thrall to sway.
(smiles)
Thence
stood in,
in a gallant puissance
aglow in the front, alfresco
_ I opted the world, vie.
Hence
come tossing lots.
Kismet so fair,
the throne arising.
Thus
in the penultimate inch nigh,
nigh a potentate (smiles)
So,
if my throb thuds to fracture,
let
hence I'd romp home.
Gordon Bennett!
This Cinderella!
Put to rout my shade.
Thus heartsick,
lidded and tremulous,
in a singular waterloo
beyond compare.
_felled second to him
_piteous
and waxen wayfarer,
weary.
Betook me bruised,
bleeding in bonds;
Thus sullied.
Hence
my paeans and revel
misnamed
and my elan, starcrossed.
Could madding,
Demi-urge?
How doth deus-ex-machina?
But of law, Gods.
That sentenced me inglorious
letting this prevalence
laden empty and low,
atop me.
Paying in no caesars to his'
nor doth fruitions fairly borne.
E'en puckish and negligent
on the Bough of the peoples' bower
_measureless balm of the manhood.
Like freighting Jacob
the flower,
in Esau's stead
ringing from the dumb
and through the sightless,
sees.
Let my denial ricochet just
and traded, my betrayal.
Wipe my screen
and my palms, dust.
Thence my wings
perfume in flying hue.
