Here To Go (Go Mix Version)
if you smell the smoke
you don't need to be told
what you got to do
yet there's a certain breed
so very in between
they'd rather take a vote
running short on time
still they can't decide
but we already know
that we are here to go
we are here to go
we are here to go
we are here to go
we are here to go
what is really mine
who's at the top of the pile
where does he draw the line
let them figure it out
go on and step across
just remind yourself
that we are here to go
when it grows too long
the tail wags the dog
the hand that bites gets fed
troubled multiply
the crowd begins to cry
for some common sense
let them all dig in
when the odds are no win
head for the nearest door
'cause we are here to go
go

Behind The Door
With trembling hand,
I knocked upon the door,
which someone had sent me to.
They told me a new life
awaits me there.
I reached out
and knocked on the door
not knowing when it opened
exactly what I’d find.
My heart beat faster,
almost racing from my chest.
I could hear footsteps
coming from within.
My hand trembled even more
as the footsteps headed towards the door.
I stood there in anticipations
as the door begins to open wide.
So far, I have not told you
who will be coming to the door.
Will it be a long lost sibling,
a future love, or even God?
I will have to let you decide,
because being a nervous person.
The suspense was killing me,
so I ran and hid, and never saw
who was it answering the door.

A Long Long Long Time Ago
Yesterday arrived too quickly
Caught me right off guard
My defence moved in too slowly
Missed it by a yard
Id just settled down
With a bottle of gin
So I moved on to whiskey
And it hit me again
Memories were raining punches
Down on my head
Knocked me into the past so quickly
They almost raised the dead
So I drank some more booze
And it helped me to sleep
Where I dreamed of my youth
And the secrets I keep
Oh history is a friend of mine
She comes over to my place
And we have a good time
But the memories
She sometimes brings with her
Get out of line
Theyre out of line
Show me things I dont want to see
(wanna see, wanna see, wanne see)
Remind me of who I thought I was gonna be
(ganna be, gonna be, gonna be)
Take me places I used to go
(used to go, used to go)
A long long time ago
When I woke I remembered nothing
Suppose thats just as well
And although my head was aching
I could hear a bell
So I put on some clothes
And I reached my front door
When I pulled it wide open
She joined me once more
Oh history is a friend of mine
She comes over to my place
And we have a good time
But the memories
She sometimes brings with her
Get out of line
Theyre out of line
Show me things I dont want to see
(wanna see, wanna see, wanna see)
Remind me of who I thought I was gonna be
(ganna be, gonna be, gonna be)
Take me places I used to go

A long long time ago

I've Not Been To Jerusalem
No one told me it was easy
No one told me that this life
Would be only joy and happiness
And lacking any strife.
No one told me it was easy
No one said it was a breeze
With no problems on the journey
And just doing as I please.
No one told me that my future
Would be more troubled than my past
For I was young and optimistic
And lived each day as if my last.
No one told me that those black clouds
Would not be followed by blue skies
For I believed in providence
And no failure could be mine.
No one told me that this blackness
Would come a’knocking at my door
No one told me that my circumstance
Would not be hopeful anymore.
No one told me, no one told me
And I’m past remembering
The day those storm clouds gathered
And then dark was everything.
No one sees me, no one sees me
And I do not wonder why
For I simply am a virus
That makes problems multiply.
When I see you, when I see you
When my shadow hides your sun
Please look at me as who I am
Not what I have not done.
When you see me, when you see me
And you wonder where I’ve been
I’ve not been to Jerusalem
But to somewhere in between.

Losing My Touch
Reservations for one tonight
Ill be eating by myself again
At that quiet little corner spot
Where we used to hang with all our friends
And Ill ease down to the local pub
Climb up on the tallest stool
Holding court with my common sense
Outwitting all these common fools
Chorus:
Ive got good taste for blended whiskey
I can see my way around this bar
I can hear the sound of a vintage jukebox
And smell the smoke of a hand-rolled cigar
I cant read your mind
Baby I can sense this much
When it comes to your love
I feel like Im losing my touch
Youre not buying this anymore
My lies have come up short again
You havent said its over yet
Oh but I can feel a bitter wind
And after giving me your better years
And hoping for the very best
Closing time is drawing near as I sit alone with all the rest
Chorus
When it comes to your love
I feel like Im losing my touch

Eyes Here
Eyes here, eyes before me,
Eyes everywhere and behind me-
Looking into mine,
Stealing away my thoughts- I know that
My time is running short.
Voices speak like irate monsters and
Voices threaten to kill me,
They are with me wherever I go, threatening me-
Only I can hear them and I fear that
My time is running short.
Angry animals surround my bedside,
Lions, snakes and wolves-
Severed hands reach out to grab me
That only I can see, and
My time is running short.
Somebody came into my room last night,
Grabbed me and took me away-
Screaming out with trepidation-
I was alone in my rage and my plight, as
My time was running short.
Eyes here, eyes before me,
Eyes everywhere and before me-
Staring and making certain I do not escape,
I could hear the sirens blaring -and I knew that
My time was running short.
Locked inside an unfamiliar place,
Trying to discern veracity,
I see the clock upon the wall-
Too bewildered to even weep-
But now I know for certain-
I have entered the door towards madness and
I believe that my time has just run out.

The White Poodle
the white poodle rushes inside
the living room
this early morning when i
first open the door
for the air and light
to come in
as i stand by the window
to see the world again
it wags its tail
asking for a little attention
which i so willingly give
and then
with all affection it sits
near my feet
i put my hand on its head
and it rubs its head
warmly on my palm
as usual
we mark this day
with friendship
and then another day unfolds
like a bud blooming for happiness

Running Back To You
Boy, youve been running around to long
Now I think youre running out of time
No more jumping in and out of my bed
Its time for me to draw the line
So you think you can call me the only one, then walk out the door
And you think you can run arround having fun,
And just come back for more
Chorus:
I think youre living in a fantasy
Its got to be them or me
So if you try it onr more time
Baby dont expect me to come running back to you
Running back to you
Then youll think about love, all the good I gave to you
I wont come running back, running back to you
I wont come running back, running back to you
And Ill find someone, somebody else to give it to
Oh oh, oh oh
I wont come running back
I wont come running
Oh oh, oh oh
I wont come running back
I wont come running
Boy, hope you see before to late
I wont play the fool-no not this time
And Ill show you just how wrong you are
To think I just cant get you out of my mind
So you think you can just play me off, then walk out the door
And you think that you can just run arround and come back for more
Chorus
You cant dis me when you wanna
Or come and go when you wanna
I hear youre playing around when you wanna
Any time that you wanna
Or just tell me lies when you wanna
I got more than you want oh
Oh, and by the way
Oh, oh I wont come running back, I wont come running
Oh, oh I wont come running back, I wont come running
Running back to you
Then youll think about love, all the good I gave to you
I wont come running back, running back to you
I wont come running back, running back to you
And Ill find someone, somebody to give it to
Oh oh, oh oh
I wont come running back
I wont come running
Oh oh, oh oh
I wont come running back
I wont come running

Step By Step
(lead vocal - lenny zakatek)
I was just a joker in a serious game
I didnt have the heart to play
But sooner or later
Ill find a reason to throw it away
Risin on the crest of a natural wave
That never seems to break my way
Im livin without it
But I got to do something about it
Step by step little by little
Step by step take it line by line
Move move move, move a little closer
I was just a runner in a one horse race
Livin on the dont pass line
Sooner or later
I got to lose cause Im wasting my time
Lady luck must have been a wonderful girl
Shes never been a friend of mine
Im living without her
But I still got that mountain to climb
Step by step little by little
Step by step rake it line by line
Move move move, move a little closer
Step by step the deal is mine

A Papers Width
It’s been contemplated
Its been planned and thought out
There’s no one home
No one to see
No one to hear
No one to know
Sense
Detect
No one to stop me
I close the blinds
Turn off the lights
I draw the gun from my pocket
And press it to my head
The barrel is cool as it touches
My finger is on the trigger about to break glass
“Do it, it will all be over soon”
“No! Don’t listen! Do not be tempted so easily”
“Its OK just squeeze it, you won’t feel a thing”
“It’s a lie, it might be quick but you’ll feel it! ”
“But you’ll escape, show them the pain they caused you”
“You’ll only hurt more people if you do it.
you’re holding the gun! Decide now! ”
I have the gun
I have to decide
Please someone stop me I don’t want to do it
My hand begins to tighten
Someone help me
The hammer drops
The bullet will fly through me
It will soon be the last thing in my mind
What happened?
The gun stopped!
The hammer stopped just before striking the bullet
The space was small only a papers width
As was my mind to do it or not
With my plan foiled I hide the gun
I sit by the door and think about what I almost had done.

Show Tune II
That's the long and short of it
now you know
how I've been waiting all these years
where I'm coming from
that's the long and short of it.
That's the long and short of it
now you see
just how hot hot jazz was
how it turned about, my bookcase
that's the long and short of it.
That's the long and short of it
now you know
that my arrest record's
not my best record
that's the long and short of it.
That's the long and short of it
now you see
how the Past's like a love
you can neither leave nor live
that's the long and short of it
That's the long and short of it
now you know
it was no gun in my pocket
it was a rocket
that's the long and short of it.
That's the long and short of it
and you're wond'ring dear
how I kept so pure
hull, it was easy
that's the long and short of it.
That's the long and short of it
now you see
so bounce your head
into bed
that's the long and short of it.
That's the long and short of it
read the blues
in these tattoos
make a song of it
that's the short and long of it.
How I wish
there was a bridge-
then I could burn it;
or the train
of a refrain
then I could board it
but there isn't
no there isn't, so...

How You Remind Me (live)
Crowd cheering in Background)
Right now were gonna perform the Canadian National Anthem
and I swear to god I'm gonna screw the words up
Never made it as a wise man
couldnt cut it as a poor man stealin
tired of livin like a blind man
I'm sick of sight without a sense of feelin
And this is how you remind me
Of what i really am
This is how you remind me
of what I really am
It's not like you to say sorry
We're now waiting on a different story
This time I'm mistaken
For givin you a heart worth breaking
And i've been wrong, I've been down
To the bottom of every bottle
These five words in my head
Scream "Are we havin fun yet?"
Yet, Yet, Yet, dun, dun
Yet, Yet, Yet, dun, dun
Couldnt cut it in the basement
Said I hate you and I swear I still do
It must've been so bad
livin with me must've Damn near killed you
And this is how you remind me
of what I really am
This is how you remind me
of what I really am
Not like you to say sorry
We're now waiting on a differant story
This time I'm mistaken
for givin you a heat worth breaken
And I've been wrong, I've been down
To the bottom of every bottle
These five words in my head
Scream "Are We Havin Fun Yet?"
Yet, Yet, Yet, dun, dun
Yet, Yet, Yet, dun, dun
Yet, Yet, Yet, dun, dun
Yet, Yet, Yet

(screaming)For givin you a heart worth breakin
I've been wrong, I've been down,
To the bottom of every bottle
These five words in my head
Sream "Are we havin fun yet?"
Yet,Yet

yet, yet
cause are we havin fun yet
yet, yet, yet
yet, yet, yet,
yet, ye-tah!

This Puppy In My Heart
you have a bird in your heart wanting to fly
you said
you keep it
closed your heart and you are too soft for that
mine is a puppy
a black one, coy and gentle and
wags its small, short tail always when i see it
i open my heart and set it free
since then
i am so empty and as you see i become so tough since then

The Black Dog
early morning when
the door of the house is finally opened
the black dog enters
missing his master
the owner of the door of the house
it wants to speak
but since it has no power over the words
it simply wags its tail
puts his head on the lap of the master
and from this gesture
one can see
that everything is well said
by it...

Friends Of Mine
Friends of mine
They said they were friends of mine
Said they were passing time
More like a waste of time
Close the door
I said close the door
Ive told you twice before
What are you waiting for
Georgie davies is coming out
No more heroes we twist and shout
Oh no not me Im not too late
And I know that Im not waiting anymore
Rocky picture has lost his gun
Leave him out now hes having fun
Oh no not me Im not too late
And I know that Im not taking any more (hey hey)
Silly lies, dont have to advertise
When will you realise, Im sick of you alibis
Running cold, the waters running cold
I thinks its time you were told
I think youre growing old

Hell Bites Back
Hell bites back
Hell bites back
You'll do the time
And that's a fact
Your lesson has begun
No prison life
Can offer back
You gotta walk the line to come
Now comes the time when the payment is due
Now it's the time to go on
I know that
Hell bites back
Hell bites back
It may be right
It may be wrong
When they close your door
You'll hate the day
And fear the night
You gave the finger to the law
Never surrender - cover your back
Nothing to stop a stab in the back
Never give in - never give out
Better be good - never get out

Death Is My Companion
(4/3/12)
Where do we go from here? When death is very near.
Is there another plateau we must climb
Before we reach the end of the line.
Death is just a resting place - a rest stop if you must!
You will not be afraid if in GOD you put your trust.
Death is my companion - he holds my hand
Death is my companion - he understands.
Known as the angel of death, the grim reaper
Of this temporary life he is the keeper.
In his clutches you'll be for a short spell
Till they decide if you're going to heaven or hell.
This is a rest stop where you take a break
Till they decide what is your fate.
So while I am on this plateau
There is no where that I will go.
Where do we go from here?
Your guess is as good as mine
As long as I'm not here until the ends of time.
This must be purgatory that I hear so much about
Maybe this is where we can turn our lives about.
Death! I know you're my companion
And we have walked hand in hand
But there is something I think you should understand
There are things on this earth that I must do
And until I finish them, my life on earth is not through.
I put my faith in GOD that he will show me the way
And from that road, I know I will not stray.

Youve Got A Friend
(carole king)
Mmm, when youre down and troubled
And you need some love and care
And nothing, oh nothing, is going right
Just close your eyes and think of me
And soon I will be there
To brighten up even your darkest night
You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
Ill come running (oh yeah), to see you again, oh, oh
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
And Ill be there
Youve got a friend
Youve got a friend
If the sky up above you
Grows dark and full of clouds
And that old cold, north wind begins to blow, oh, oh, oh
Just keep your head together
And call my name out loud
Soon, youll hear me knocking at your door, ooh, hoo
You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
Ill come run, run, run, run, running to see you again, oh, oh
Winter, spring, summer or fall, yeah
Said all you have to do is call
And Ill be there
Oh, aint it good to know that
Youve got a friend?
When people can be so cold
Theyll hurt you, yes, and desert you
And take your soul if you let them
Oh, but dont you let them, ha
You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
Ill come running, running, run, running to see you again, ooh, hoo
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
And Ill be there
Youve got a friend, oh, baby
Youve got a friend, oh, oh, baby
Youve got a friend, ooh, honey
You got, you got a friend, ooh, hoo
Youve got a friend
I said, youve got a friend

My Fate Which Is Mine
My eyes are wide shut, facing the sea
Watching the movement, how can this be?
Ripples, waves, crashing on me
Then I awake, my wall I now see
Who says it was fake, it could be sign
Something bad is coming, or is it Gods design
I will just wait and see, I think ill be fine
Is it His life, or is it mine
Do we make our own decisions, are they already said?
Is my next day determined, before I lay in bed?
Should I stay up and worry, or lay down my head
Will I figure it out, before I am dead?
I decide my own fate, my fate which is mine
Should I save all my money, or spend my last dime
Should I be angry, or remain benign
Take days to think, you’ll run out of time
I decide my own fate, my fate which is mine

Running
running away
like a cat
trying to
catch its
own tail,
keep on running
try catching
a shadow
keep on running
sweat out
the feeling of
air and breeze
and smoke and fog
all whipped up
by this wind
keep running
pursue the reasons
why one must keep running
does it really help
you cope up
with what you are leaving?
