Push
Go go go
Push him away
No no no
Don't let him stay
He gets inside to stare at her
The seeping mouth
The mouth that knows
The secret you
Always you
A smile to hide the fear away
Oh smear this man across the walls
Like strawberries and cream
Its the only way to be
Exactly the same clean room
Exactly the same clean bed
But i've stayed away too long this time
And i've got too big to fit this time...

A Stare
a stare is like a stair
it has steps
and there are feet
walking,
and leaving,
you stare at me,
and i see stairs, where you walk
and climb and stop at the middle
and then take the stairs layer by layer
that is what you like to do, to look at me
as though i am this room where you build the stairs
and you want to go inside my room and lock me up
and take all of me with your tongue and hands and
mouth. You mouth me. And i receive the life you have.
and then your stare subsides. the stair is gone.
the room vanishes. I am free. And you are inside me
your stare has become the memory lingering inside me.
i become a bird and you are inside my wings.
Your stairs become my feathers. Your stare
becomes my eyes.
in love, we make the stairs leading to a house.
and there we feast, and live and sleep.
yes, there are wings and windows.

Come Clean
I was cold till you touched me
Fear had no place to hide
I felt nothing but sadness
Love is the great divide
Felt like someone was counting
The tears that rush from my eyes
I was broken and doubting
Love and my own sweet pride
Come clean, come clean
You know where youve been
Slipping and stepping inside
Come clean, come clean
I know thats a dream
Love is the divide
Felt a rush from the mountain
Oh lord, I pushed you aside
I felt nothing but sadness
Ill be alone tonight
How can we lose? theres no laws to abuse
There was never more passion in crime
You took my hand, told me youd understand
Thered be time, so much time
I was cold till you touched me
Fear had no place to hide
I felt nothing but sadness
Love is the great divide

Leisure
What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.
No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.
A poor life this is if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

Clean
Eat clean,
Live clean,
Sleep clean,
dress clean,
Walk clean,
Learn clean,
Play clean,
Think clean,
dance clean,
Talk clean,
Sing clean,
work clean,
Because the world around you is watching what you do;
You are the only one on this earth,
So live and let us live too.

The Cleanest Man....
he is clean
he prides about the beard
that he has
just shaven
he is clean
there is no hair left on his head
no hair between his thighs
and legs
he is clean
his chest is bare now
his heart slowly
beating
he is clean as he
is empty
like a room without
furniture and
drapes
he is clean and without
sin
he who has not done
anything
and can do not wrong again...
he is clean now
for he is dead....

This Morning
Nothing left to feel
Nothing more to do
Nothing left to give
Nothing more in you
Nothing else to have or hold
Nothing left, but time to go
Time to go
Years go by
Didn't really say that much at all
And moments just fly
Didn't ever really touch at all
Weeks always run down
Didn't really get that close at all
And days, days fall out
Didn't ever really know at all
And then we're here in a room too clean and too bright
She stares at you for an hour
You stare into the light
For one last hour in the room
So mean and so white
I stare at her in this room as she stares into the night
Nothing left to feel
Nothing more to do
Nothing left to ask
Nothing more of you
Nothing else to share or show
Nothing left but time to go
In his eyes as we turn no eternity of life
In his eyes as we turn no infinity of why
In his eyes as we turn no beautiful goodbye
In his eyes as we turn...nothing but tears
In his eyes as we turn...nothing but tears
(spoken:) I couldn't understand too much of what was being said
In a matter of minutes
Peacefully so slow
I had to think to breathe
My heart burst
We moved in silence really slowly away from the world
As we drove a strange silence
That moment
Nothing will ever be the same
Nothing will ever be the same
Nothing will ever be the same
Days fall out
Weeks always run down
Moments just fly
Weeks go by
And then we're here
And then we're here in a room too clean and too bright
I stare at you for an hour
You stare into the light
For one last hour in the room so mean and so white
You stare at me in this room as I stare into the night
Nothing left to feel
Nothing more to do
Nothing more to take
Nothing more from you
Nothing else to need or know
There's nothing left at all...but time to go

A Sad Child
You're sad because you're sad.
It's psychic. It's the age. It's chemical.
Go see a shrink or take a pill,
or hug your sadness like an eyeless doll
you need to sleep.
Well, all children are sad
but some get over it.
Count your blessings. Better than that,
buy a hat. Buy a coat or pet.
Take up dancing to forget.
Forget what?
Your sadness, your shadow,
whatever it was that was done to you
the day of the lawn party
when you came inside flushed with the sun,
your mouth sulky with sugar,
in your new dress with the ribbon
and the ice-cream smear,
and said to yourself in the bathroom,
I am not the favorite child.
My darling, when it comes
right down to it
and the light fails and the fog rolls in
and you're trapped in your overturned body
under a blanket or burning car,
and the red flame is seeping out of you
and igniting the tarmac beside you head
or else the floor, or else the pillow,
none of us is;
or else we all are.

The Secret
We are, we are
The machines
Well play games for you.
Come inside
Youre welcome to choose
She is a new fascination,
The cold face of love.
He is a puppet who dances and
Screams with the fear.
Well show you religion
Well show you a new god
Well show you the secret of love/fear
Roll up, roll up
We are clean
We serve you, just for now
We are friends
They call me the priest
Welcome, welcome
We are good
No-one cries for you
We are kind
Youll stay here forever.
Welcome
We are good
We are kind
We are clean
We are friends
Come inside
We are the machines
Welcome.

Everything's Brown
Hello I'm here to invite you
To things you cannot feel
and if you push me too far
You might believe I'm real
Teeth scrape beneath the sweater
To when you hate and steal
Or do you think it better
To obsess and not reveal
I know your secret
It scrapes you way down
Everything was clean
Now everything's brown
Don't try to hide it
Know you cannot feel
What you are is something
that I won't reveal
Hello I'm here to invite you
To things you cannot feel
and if you fall apart
You'll pretend I'm not real
You can't erase what you are
So don't even try
and how can I be truthful
When everything I am is a lie
I know your secret
It scrapes you way down
Everything came clean
Now everything's brown
Don't try to hide it
When you dig to feel
When it falls apart
I hope I won't reveal
Hello

Cut A Smile
I beg for nails, and then you sigh
"When I approach you step aside"
Im coming through, I'll be your sin
I'll be your weight inside, within
I am trying to smile as I give you a kiss
but you're holding your hand in the way
I am starting to age, I'm starting to shake
and I will never be the same again
I perform inside your mouth
Am I clean? There is a doubt
I am disease, you are the sick
In terms of filth somewhere I fit
I want to believe that you tell me a lie
when you say I'm the best you have had
So cut me again, I will do as you please
but I will never be the same again

Before it's Over
Clean and well fed
pushing white revolving doors
until time is up
and there is no longer
a reason to push
and smile
and think
it will get better
and ask for
the day to bring
another like it
before the sign
of the cross
ends another nightly
conversation with God
under cool clean sheets
inside a neat well lit house
below sapphire stars
singing sweet existence
away from the city
and its broken sidewalks
where once childhood
felt the pulse of
war, poverty and hunger
but now years later
lost childhood is faded
replaced by becoming
well fed and educated
inside a starched shirt
pushing white revolving doors
still waiting to get off...

Clean Up The World
Clean Up The World
Where have we gone?
We’ve drifted away
Too many years
Nothin’ to say
Too many years
Intentional lies
Too many years
Collegiate-laundered hipplets
Drivin’ us to demise
Got to clean up the world, clean up the world
Clean up the world, clean up the world
We’ve got to put that yuppie back in its cage
Along came McRonald
We got in its way
Too many years
Puppeteers played
Too many years
Stealing us blind
Too many years
Of totalitarians smothering us from the right
Got to clean up the world, clean up the world
Clean up the world, clean up the world
We’ve got to put that yuppie back in its cage
Their Wall Street money’s been holdin’ us fast
Ideals shallow and vain
They sell us all just to make it last
Revolution of ‘89 today
We got to clean up the world, clean up the world
Clean up the world, clean up the world
We’ve got to put that yuppie back in its cage
Self-centered cosmos
Material gain
Too many years
Deflecting their blame
Too many years
Stuffin’ their cart
Too many years
Deceit inside the head
Instead of love in their heart
Got to clean up the world, clean up the world
Clean up the world, clean up the world
We’ve got to put that yuppie back in its grave

The Family Room. For Mary.
You put up with it because
as tiresome as it is, and as they can sometimes be,
somewhere there, there's always love.
He may take interest
in something to be repaired
that's mechanical; and
there's cars to wash and clean,
hobby things to sort and tidy.
Some kids are good or disciplined;
but there's never quite the time
in their expanding world
for doing just what you do
for the house..
But in the human heart
there's this locked, dusty room - you haven't dared
to look inside for years - or indeed
since childhood, for some people -
full of junk, of cobwebs,
broken windows, their sashes jammed,
cupboards that won't open, drawers
whose contents stop them opening; even
the birds have stopped their nesting there;
a room of memories that whisper when it's dark
It's the room that's family.
And surprise - the light still works..
A family can sort and dust and wash and clean and tidy it
in less time than they take
to slam the door
yet only you know that it's done, and how it's done.
And you say nothing.
Somewhere, two strangers
smile at one another

His Smile
I can't get
His smile
Out of my mind
You're so cute and adorable person
Please keep smiling because you light up
The room with your cute smile
Every time I see you I freeze like ice
I have butterflys in my stomach
I don't want to move, just stay in my sit and see
His smile
From outside of class he want me to open the door, but
I want to do is stare at
His smile
I feel like I been glue to my chair
You make me want to smile all the time
It been long time that I done that and thanks to you
I able to smile and feel happy
You bring back real me
Ryan
Promise me that you won't stop smiling
It's the cutest thing I ever saw
Nothing will ever change that because
His smile
I will never forget
His smile

Aquarium
I'm swimming behind the glass
As light bends between each of the broken wave.
I find myself at an impasse,
Noticing how I'm enslaved
By the concave walls that curve how I behave.
My face pushes against an
Invisible barrier, but I can see
The outside world stretch and span
Past what has long contained me.
I look at it, weightless, in filtered debris.
I open my mouth and water
Fills me lungs while I float just to watch and stare.
Breathing becomes heavier,
And I begin sinking there,
Grasping for a pocket of crisp and clean air.

That Austen Guy.
Here's your fare
for the bus to school
your mother said
but some days you walked
and spent the money
on doughnuts at the bakery
on the way to school
and you felt them warm
through the white paper bag
the baker had put them in
and you ate them on the way
then licked your fingers clean
like some fingery blow job
and Ed Sutcliffe met you
in the playground and said
You got sugar around your mouth
and he pointed
with his ink stained finger
and so you wiped
around your mouth
with your tongue
until all was clean
and you said
That Ok?
and he stared
at your mouth and lips
and said
Yeah that's better
and you said
Where's O'Brien?
He hasn't come yet
Sutcliffe said
but Austen's here
he drove up in his sports car
a few moments back
you sighed and looked
towards the place
where he parked his car
red and flashy
I suppose he'll be
in his usual
bullying mood again
said Sutcliffe
holding up
the clay pots
and saying
Look at this specimen
of a pot
and hold it
up for the class to see
Don't remind me
you said
Austen's a fink
with a face of pits
like the surface
of the moon
and Sutcliffe laughed
and it kind of eased
his nervousness
and you saw
in his blue eyes
that sharp fear
that people have
when another dies.

At The Club Ultima,39th Floor
we somehow feel the bond
of unity
we feel the abundance of food
and emotions
no one is telling somehow
what is it
that makes us still torn apart
from the link
she is seated beside me
i look at the veins blue on her wrist
she is not eating much
fear of fats
and betrayal
fear of too much acidity
in her guts
when she looks at me she smiles
though i find something mysterious
concealed and yet too obvious
to be mentioned
i keep my dumb silence taking
seasoned beef inside my mouth
to keep me from
using words of which i am
getting skilled at
covers
the rest are noisy
as the live band plays
Latin beat songs
the mother feeds the child
two mothers
who want the best for their kids
clean fun
the man over the edge trusts me
sad, there is no way that he sees what is inside
my heart
there is something sinister there
like a masked ninja scheming to seize
what he treasures
and then i look at her again
this time she knows what i want
she says she likes it here
on the 39th floor
though there is more fun
at the 20th
where their is a sort of
happy quiet
and pallid privacy
with the hint that she will be alone
as she owns that room
