And When He Smiles

(from live at bbc, 1971)
And when he smiles he makes the sun shine
He wouldnt think to make it rain
Happiness runs in the family
And hes a boy from the good old earth and the high tree forest
And hes just about the happiest boy that I ever knew
And when he smiles he makes me sigh
He doesnt have a point of view
Happiness runs in the family
And hes a boy from the good old earth and the high tree forest
And hes just about the happiest boy that I ever knew
And when he smiles he makes the sun shine
And warms the day with morning dew
Happiness runs in the family
And hes a boy from the good old earth and the high tree forest
And hes just about the happiest boy that I ever knew
And hes just about the happiest boy that I ever knew

The happiest people are those who think the most interesting thoughts. Those who decide to use leisure as a means of mental development, who love good music, good books, good pictures, good company, good conversation, are the happiest people in the world. And they are not only happy in themselves, they are the cause of happiness in others.

She Crawls Away

I fall in she sees me and smiles
Then she starts to hate herself again
She screams something under her breath
That I wouldnt know if she said it outloud
She turns over to start a conversation
With a man that noone else can see
She dreams of loving me sometimes
And it makes me see what weve been missing
Its like I never knew anyone so strong before
She brings the man outa me
And she makes me see that they dont matter
I believe
We see her playin with another
She runs around you and then
Its like the sun goes down and she crawls away again
She wears white pants a miami sweater
Says that she loves the os
So uncle dean will come by
Her smile is like sunshine
Her tears hurt like leather
She runs the show she lets me know
Says its all about being the only
Its like someone said you could have one good thing in your life
She couldnt be your type
I didnt plan for your smile, but you make me laugh when you stand dreamin
I believe, we see her layin with another
She runs around you and then
Its like the sun goes down and she crawls away again
Where were you yesterday
Now that my heart is wild and free
And my lips have room to wander
How can I say your needing me now
When Ive got a plan
I know you dont understand why my heart is sorry know
I believe
We see her laying with another
She runs around you and then
Its like the sun goes down and she crawls
I believe
We see her waiting with another
She runs around you and then
Its like the sun goes down and she crawls away again

Happy

We ate the cafes of Chancery lane
We danced Spanish Salsa in the rain
We spoke of visiting countries like Mexico
Later we listened in tunnels to our echoes

In the darkness of the truth
We searched for our roots
Friends make us happy
Family makes us happy
Good health makes us happy
Wealth makes us happy
Love makes us happy, but why?

We marched the parades in New York City
We attentively listened to war news with pity
We sang songs of freedom by great grandfathers
As we watched a salient fireworks extravaganza

In the discovery of the truth
Each made recovery by thoughtful input
Living makes us happy
Giving makes us happy
Good health makes us happy
Wealth makes us happy
Love makes us the happiest, but why?

We sailed the continental slopes of Asia
We flew from Japan and ended up in Australia
We trekked the sandy lands of the Sahara
And in some countries we traveled by car

And in a breakthrough of the truth
We made friends shaking hands while on foot
It takes a little to be happy
For some an army of little candy
A smile can make one happy
Almost everyone wants to be happy

Freedom makes one happy
Good people make us happy
Not those who treat us badly
Entertainment makes us happy
Love makes us the happiest, but why?

Lonely Tree

A lonely tree
On a lonely hill
Wishes to be
A forest still
Thou all alone
It dreams of more
Of seedlings grown
From its forest floor
Their branches growing
Ever climbing high
So feverish flowing
To reach blue sky
Covering this land
Beyond its view
A forest grand
All fresh and new
A sight to behold
It would surely be
A dream so bold
For such a lonely tree.
“closing thought”
A family is like a forest that continues to grow
From a lone simple seedling it outwardly flows

The Human Inside

Ah my heart if just for once
You could kill the human inside
You would be the happiest one
If you could hate walking under the rain and cry
If you could ignore the pure emotions of love
You would be the happiest one
If you could support the false and the lie
And say Its black when its snowy white
You would be the happiest one
If you could close your eyes and disregard
When you see the poor and forget to
Cry
If you could give up your principles and your rights
And chase up what makes you glad.
You could never ever be a happy one.

Our Family Tree

We class ourselves as branches
on our family tree,
each person has a branch
and each branch has its branches
growing out of it.
Let’s go back to the beginning,
who would be the base
of our family tree.

In being logical,
we take the first names
in our written history
and those first two names
have to be Adam and Eve.
Now if they are the base
from which all families grow.
That makes everyone
on earth one big family,
and that makes everyone we talk to
part of our big family tree.

Cherished Way

All women are like the red rose
Not a hurdle or challenge posed
They stand for it and really to be supposed
No worries at home and quickly disposed

It is nice to keep her in smiles
As life cart must run for a while
All passengers and co passengers
If not may not prove good managers

She is at helm of affairs
Looks after fine and very fair
Let us help her cheeks to shine
She stands tall as next to divine

Let her open up like flower
Spread fragrance after rain shower
Think of sun shine and very good season
You will be happiest on earth as person

She has always kept you intact
This is one of the known and bare facts
Let us respect and please her to stay
As life is meant to be long and cherished way

Good Family

When you see a man behaving well
People are curious to know his family
When a naughty interacts
His source is easily identified
Good family is a big attractive tree
That offers shade in rain and heat
Good family bears good branches
That produces good fruits
Good family has its firm roots
Which nourishes and beautifies
Good family gives birth to good nations
In peace, good family is there
In war, good family endures
Good family wipes away tears and sorrows
Loneliness is absent with good family
Security is guaranteed with nice family
He who has a good family
Is half done in life
See a man dancing on the street
No need to ask if his family is okay
If you have a good family
Sacrificially hold on to it
Never allowed it to crack
Pass the baton to others
To enable the world get better.

Family Tree

There's love within our family tree
and happiness abound.
Its roots are deeply planted
in rich and fertile ground.

We enjoy the rays of sunlight
and endure the winds and rain,
and when a leaf falls from our tree,
together we share the pain.

God gave us earthly families
and never did intend,
that bonds of love built on Earth
upon our death should end.

For when our life is over
and from earth our souls will flee,
one by one, leaf by leaf,
He'll rejoin our family tree.

Running In The Family

Our dad
Would send us to our room
Hed be the voice of doom
He said that we would thank him later
All day
He was solid as a rock
But by eight oclock
Wed be crumbling
One night
My brother joe and me
Climbed down the family tree
That grew outside our bedroom window
We ran
Though we knew it couldnt last
Running from the past
From things that we were born to be
Looking back its so bizarre
It runs in the family
All the things we are
On the back seat of the car
With joseph and emily
We only see so far
- and we all have our daddys eyes
Looking back its so bizarre
Dad rang
The officer in charge
A man so large
He barely fit his circumstances
He said
Two kids out on the street
Were picked up on the beat
And in the station
So theres me
With emily and joe
Daddy driving home
All heading in the same direction
He knew
No matter what the breaks
Wed make the same mistakes
Couldnt take his eyes of joe and me
Looking back its so bizarre
It runs in the family
All the things we are
On the backseat of the car
With joseph and emily
We only see so far
- and we all have our daddys eyes
Looking back its so bizarre
It runs in the family
All the things we are
Looking back its so bizarre
Like a dream within a dream
Were all somewhere in between
Like a drummer plays his drum
Like a father like a son
- and your gonna have to face the music
- face the music
Hey hey
We keep it running in the family
Hey hey
We keep it coming in the family
Looking back its so bizarre
It runs in the family
All the things we are
On the backseat of the car
With joseph and emily
We only see so far
- cause we all have our daddys eyes
Take me back into your arms
Its no longer a mystery
No cause for alarm
Could have never come this far
With no sense of history
It always leaves a scar
- and we all have our daddys eyes
Looking back its so bizarre
Running in the family
Hey, hey!

They Shine

In grief, I spotted two crystals.
Across the flame-drenched fields.
They were leaking and appeared pitiful.
So I wandered to them and stood.

They shone as the sunrise.
They shone as forest fires.
They promised happiness.
They promised omnicide.

I stood there staring into her.
She asks me where I've been all her life.
My whole being smiles at these elusive words.
Considering the euphoria that died.

They shone as the sunrise.
They shone as forest fires.
They promised happiness.
They promised omnicide.

I'm certain that I knew you.
I guess you've always known me.
Now your conflicting intentions.
Have parted this diluted sea.

You lie through your teeth.
You laugh as I grieve.
And you dare call my name.
Knowing I'll cringe again.

These lights will not dim.
Your words never die.
Beautiful yet grim.
Bewildered, I am confined.

They're just eyes.
Soulless eyes.
Lying eyes.
Yet, shining eyes.

They shine.
They shine.
They shine.
I am blind.

I Wish, I Wish

I wish I knew, I wish I knew
What makes me, me, and what makes you, you.
Its just another point of view, ooo.
A state of mind Im going through, yes.
So what I see is never true, ahhh.
I wish I could tell, I wish I could tell
What makes a heaven what makes a hell.
And do I get to ring my bell, ooo.
Or land up in some dusty cell, no.
While others reach the big hotel, yeah.
I wish I had, I wish I had
The secret of good, and the secret of bad.
Why does this question drive me mad? ahhh.
cause I was taught when but a lad, yes,
That bad was good and good was bad, ahhh.
I wish I knew the mystery of
That thing called hate, and that thing called love.
What makes the in-between so rough? ahhh.
Why is it always push and shove? ahhh
I guess I just dont know enough, yes.

Shoe Box

If I take away all my sadness
And cut off all of my problems
While my concerns are blown away
My happiness fits in a shoe box
A size ten shoe box

If I eat my fears with sugar
Then clean my sorrows with alcohol
And I hang my tears to dry
My happiness fits in a shoe box

While I shoot dead my illnesses
And smoke up my doubts
I will bury my insecurities
Then collect my happiness in a box

In a shoe box I keep my smiles
And every time I laugh
I fold my laughter up
Then put it inside my box
Every time my box fills up
I open it up
And let my happiness run loose
Like a smiling drunken goose

If I take away all the bad
And I count every time I had some fun
My box fills up pretty fast
With memories that make me laugh

I only keep my happiness in a shoe box for a little while
I know is not worth it to hide it from the wild
I am the happiest when I’m happy
I laugh the hardest when I love

I learned to look at the brightest side
Happiness is not something you can just go on and hide
I live both with tears and laughters
I just choose to keep my smiles

Tragedies make sweeter my laughter
And tears make my smile much stronger
Happiness is a conscious decision
I have chosen to make this decision

In a shoe box I’ve been keeping my smiles
And every time I laugh
I’ve been folding my laughters up
Then putting them inside my box

Me & Bobby & Bobbys Brother

Well there was me and bobby and bobbys brother
Please take me back to that place
Where Ive got all my memories, those were my happiest days
I remember all the games we used to play
I really do
And I went to see them almost every day
I wanted to
Though we quarrelled at times
And had a few fights
We were the best of friends
We found a place in the sun
To have enough fun
Well there was me and bobby and bobbys brother
Wildest kids you could see
We would play together
Climbing the apple tree
Yes there was me and bobby and bobbys brother
Please take me back to that place
Where Ive got all me my memories, those were my happiest days
They would take me out for football games and such
They liked to play
And I guess I didnt like it very much
But anyway
I was happy and proud to be with the boys
Being a little girl
I found a place in the sun
A heaven of fun
Well there was me and bobby and bobbys brother
Wildest kids you could see
We would play together
Climbing the apple tree
Yes there was me and bobby and bobbys brother
Please take me back to that place
Where Ive got all me my memories, those were my happiest days
Well there was me and bobby and bobbys brother
Please take me back to that place
Where Ive got all my memories, those were my happiest days
(got all my memories, those were my happiest days)
Where Ive got all my memories, those were my happiest days
(got all my memories, those were my happiest days)
Where Ive got all my memories, those were my happiest days
(got all my memories, those were my happiest days)
(fade)

Family I love

love my family with my hold heart.
My love is Joy to love my family
Family is sad and happy and love.
Family is fun and painful and pretty.
My family is like all families we have
love and we have happiness and tears
I love my hold family
My family is like angels who fly in sky
I am grateful that I have family that loves
me.
My family are kind and nice and fun to be
around
My family is painful like all familys are and
heart breaking and Evil sometimes
My family is heart breaking and deadly like
everyone else
Hey I can't stop loving my family not matter what
it coats in the family.
Way my family is just makes me want have family
with someone be as good as they are.
But God know I love my family
and our love is great to have in life
and even know they leave he world they still
a live in my hearts.

Corner Of The Earth

Little darlin dont you see the sun is shining
Just for you, only today
If you hurry you can get a ray on you, come with me, just to play
Like every humming bird and bumblebee
Every sunflower, cloud and every tree
I feel so much a part of this
Natures got me high and its beautiful
Im with this deep eternal universe
From death until rebirth
This corner of the earth is like me in many ways
I can sit for hours here and watch the emerald feathers play
On the face of it Im blessed
When the sunlight comes for free
I know this corner of the earth it smiles at me
So inspired of that theres nothing left to do or say
Think Ill dream, til the stars shine
The wind it whispers and the clouds dont seem to care
And I know inside, that its all mine
Its the chorus of the breakin dawn
The mist that comes before the sun is born
To a hazy afternoon in may
Natures got me high and its so beautiful
Im with this deep eternal universe from death until rebirth
You know that this corner of the earth is like me in many ways
I can sit for hours here and watch the emerald feathers play
On the face of it Im blessed
When the sunlight comes for free
I know this corner of the earth it smiles at me
I know this corner of the earth it smiles at me
I know this corner of the earth it smiles at me
I know this corner of the earth it smiles at me
I know this corner of the earth it smiles at me

Why Can't We Be A Family

why can't family be family again
we used to always be friends
we used to huddle together
whenever we got scared
we felt the warmth in one anothers arms
because we knew the love was there

we used to build forts out of whatever we had in our rooms
and wage sars
throwing pillows, books, and brooms

we used to have mini mosh pits
with just the four of us
we headbanged and pushed
we screamed and pretended to cuss

we used to protect eachother
we used to defend one another
we used to stand together like brothers and sister
when mom punished us we would all resist her

we used to be a family
a family that would always care
we used to be a family with more happiness than despair
we used to be a family that never hogged food or air
we used to be a family that told eachother we were there

we used to be a family
a family that sat down toghether and ate
we used to be a family full of our own ideas that we create
we used to be a family that got along without debate
we used to be a family with more love than hate

so why can't family be family again
and remember why those times were so good
why can't family be family again
and treat eachother the way we should

why can't family be family again
and throw the hate away
why can't family be family again

Lust

The smell fills her senses, she breathes it in,
She knows it is wrong, that it's a sin,
She turns her back forces herself to run,
She runs away from m the scent she longs for, out of the sun,
She runs farther into the dark, the forest,
She runs faster than ever, into the trees to leave the rest,
The rest of what she wants, of what she longs for,
But she knows she can't let herself loose what shes woked so hard for
She ran, till safe from temtation from the longing,
And slowly her lover caught up the stopped in front of her, wondering,
She made herself continue, with him close behind,
The she smelled a new smell, and she knew what she had to find.
The lion was purched in a tree,
She knew what she had to do, and this kill would be free,
She wouldn't have to deal with the guilt of someone
She only had the feeling of thirst leaving, of being the one who won
Who won the battle between instinct and right, of doing what she must,
She won the battle against wanting human, the battle of lust
