Eve
Eve I cant believe
That you could mean
What you just said
Think of what you are
How very far you are from being real
Look into the mirror
Nothing there to see
Eve I cant believe
Youd really leave him
(*) notice how her image saddens
How lonely shes become
Just once Id like to see her happy
Before the winter comes
Eve, I wouldnt lie
The open sky is not your home
Wide as it may be
Reality is here among the stones
Thorns among the roses
Add to what is real
Eve, you are a rose
Among the thorns here
Repeat (*)
I wish her only good times
Before the winter comes

A Rose Amidst the thorns
Roses in profusion
bloomed along our garden wall.
They were both red and yellow-
tea hybrids, I recall.
There were thorns too,
as I well knew,
standing guard among the blooms.
A careless creature soon would learn
to give the rose wide berth
An agony of thorns awaits
the careless of the earth.
Yet thorns permit the bees to come
and pollen to transpose.
and, if careful, they'll admit
my own scent seeking nose
I think thorns serve their purpose well
else roses would be trampled
The thorns are roses' guardians
and not inconsequential.
Without a thorn, the rose, forlorn,
is destined for the ashes.

A rose I am no more
If roses are the colors pink, red, yellow & white,
What happens if my rose is the color of black.
If all roses have their thorns,
What happens if my rose has lost its thorns.
If a rose that has no color & no thorns is no longer a rose,
Then a rose of color & thorns I am no more.
A rose I am no more, A rose I am no more.

The Rose With Thorns
The rose with thorns
Beautiful passion red rose
But dangerous with thorns
Picked off the garden
By a bard on
Realize he was bleeding
Thought roughly about his feelings
About why the rose had thorns
Never again would he pick up the red rose with thorns
The rose only brought him pain
Thoe he did not go insane
By wanting to stomp on it
But he just forfeit on it
He just let the rose there on the ground
And the rose was hoping it would be found
So the bard on
Left the garden
Checked his finger with the thorn pulled it out
finger was bleeding and never looked back at the rose with the thorns

A random morning~not a poem
How many people like what they see in a mirror? How many times do we strike a pose there trying to look better? The best changes are brought by a straight posture and a smile. See? Look how different you are. All the things you hate at yourself are not so hideous as before, now you learn to live with your big nose those new wrinkles or freckles or rebellious hair or wide cheeks or whatever else is. A light, it comes from the inside. Close your eyes, smiling. Let Kindness grow, to cover all of your skin. All of you. Think of a rose. It has a lot of beauty but also thorns. Try not to sting with your thorns but enchant with the beauty of your smile. After you've done that in the mirror, and within yourself, you are ready to face your day. Good Morning! Chin up, keep your smile, feel free to face the world trying to have a happy day! No matter what, no matter how the day ends the least, this morning, I have tried, right?

Red Roses
(jimbeau hinson, david murphy)
Red roses just won't work now
Here we go us again
You've been gone and here you stand
With a dozen i'm sorry's in your hand
Victim of your podent charms
I took you back with open arms
But along with the roses came the thorns
Chorus:
And that's why red roses just won't work now
Cause you've done too much
To talk things out
You could tell me you love me
But that's the one thing i'll always doubt
Red roses just won't work now
Gone for good's the trust i had
You let me done the garden path
Just too many times to take you back
So faith is why don't you
Save the roses for you know who
I already know how long they'll last
Repeat chorus

If That Is To Be My Experience
Please,
Do not remove the thorns from that rose.
I wish to experience every bit of it.
If I can not handle it and it should prick,
Let me be the obe to adjust to it.
I want to know what it is as it is.
Not what you wish me to believe,
To leave me to discover...
You decided to have me,
Think of it as something else.
Please,
Do not remove the thorns from that rose.
I've chosen it just the way it is...
Thorns and all.
I will never appreciate it,
If you make the decision...
To keep me from getting pricked.
If that is to be my experience...
Let it be.

Red one
Out of a hundred roses
I plucked you
Red one.
Your sharp thorns
Are real
Red one.
These wounds
On my palm bleed
Red one.
Gibberish!
You are just a rose
Not love.
Red one.

The Rose Is You
there is a rose
in my heart
and it has so
many thorns
i bleed and i look
at the mirror
so beautifully
the bleeding goes on and on
years and years
how can the thorns be so hurting?
it is the rose that matters
and it is you...

A Winter Message
A flake of snow in flurry thro’ the air
Had landed as a kiss upon my cheek:
A secret message, just for me to share;
To take to heart but never dare to speak
About or presuppose to other eyes
Your open feelings – distant though they are.
And so, upon your lips, my OWN surprise:
A flake of snow returned from me afar.

The BLACK ROSE
I've kissed the petal of the black rose as the morning dew blushed its black hue. I felt a passion beyond anything I knew, a flame, a fire, a burning desire for the black rose its petals to unfold, its beauty to behold. Your Love had me entangled upon your vine I dangled, Chained to the black rose petals I wrangled. Upon your bed in the early dew I found a colored rose petal, another heart that throbbed for you a flame that burned now an amber. Who too had thought you true and kissed the black rose petals blushing hue. Those barbed thorns upon your vine; so sharp; the lies, the deceit, the cheat; they cut, tear, bleed and don't prepare for the hurt they leave. Bold and daunting were you in your haunting. I wanted love but it was my soul you stole. In the ice cold blight of the winter night the black rose had froze. I cried, in the glistening icy snow; for the black rose had no heart to with stand the blight of that winter night. What it had was a cold heart with sharp thorns to enfold, the last cold kiss of death on the black rose shows I have no love to share or hold.

Pondering upon the Rose on a Sunday Morning......
The symbol of love
When giving in love a rose speaks for itself
The beauty is picturesque
The scent it gives lasting for ever
The rose never seen without her thorns
Still who can not feel happiness when a rose is seen or given?
Even for a brief minute, a second the rose brings a smile
Or perhaps a small sigh of delight
If one were to think upon a rose…
The thorns… the beauty…
The petals that carry the essence…
That lingers even after it is withered
If one were compare to our Lord…
He held thorns upon his precious head; the head of the rose is above the thorns
His love was known for its beauty and compassion, the rose noted for love
His words and Spirit lingers for eternity much like the scent of the rose
My Lord created the Rose
Perhaps he created it for remembrance of His son
Looking upon the rose I see it all so clearly
The meaning of love
The beauty
An essence that shall always be with me

Bet Shes Not Your Girlfriend
(tennant/lowe)
---------------
(whisper whisper whisper whisper)
Whisper round the town,
cause youre my friend and thats the end
For youre the only one in town
Who they will beg to hang around with
Youre so beautiful and calm
But with an attitude that says:
Hands-off, youre just not good enough
Every boy and man feeling lonely
Cant understand why youd be with me
Furthermore, we laugh and we draw
More attention everyday, so they say:
(girlfriend) bet shes not your girlfriend, oh no,
(oh oh oh girlfriend) you better make her happy
(oh oh oh girlfriend) bet shes not your girlfriend, oh no,
(oh oh oh girlfriend) you better make her happy
Well, that says maybe, in a way, but its okay
We are touche, while they stare in front of us
They draw away, as if to say:
Who are these people anyway?
How dare they confront us?
Every boy and man feeling lonely
Cant understand why youd be with me
Furthermore, we laugh and we draw
More attention everyday, so they say:
(girlfriend) bet shes not your girlfriend, oh no,
(oh oh oh girlfriend) you better make her happy
(oh oh oh girlfriend) bet shes not your girlfriend, oh no,
(oh oh oh girlfriend) you better make her happy
Oh no no no
Oh no no no
(girlfriend oh oh oh girlfriend
Oh oh oh girlfriend oh oh oh girlfriend)
Id rather die, than satisfy their curiousity
Im kind of shy and dry, and verging on ugly
They wonder what that I have got, that they have not
Theyll never understand that none of that matters
Every boy and man feeling lonely
Cant understand why youd be with me
Furthermore, we laugh and we draw
More attention everyday, so they say:
(girlfriend) bet shes not your girlfriend, oh no,
(oh oh oh girlfriend) you better make her happy
(oh oh oh girlfriend) bet shes not your girlfriend, oh no,
(oh oh oh girlfriend) you better make her happy
(oh oh oh girlfriend oh oh oh girlfriend
Oh oh oh girlfriend)
Bet shes not your, bet shes not your,
Bet shes not your, bet shes not your,
(oh oh oh girlfriend)
Bet shes not your girlfriend, oh no
(oh oh oh girlfriend) bet shes not your girlfriend
(oh oh oh girlfriend) you better make her happy
(oh oh oh girlfriend) bet shes not your girlfriend
(oh oh oh girlfriend) you better make her happy
Bet shes not your girlfriend

Only In the Winter
Why is it only in the winter
that we notice them?
The vulnerable on our streets,
the runaways and those
who have lost their way.
They are there all year around
in their cardboard houses
the places they call home.
Why is it only in the winter
that we finally become aware?
In the big cities, they are everywhere.
When the city goes to sleep
some huddle in doorway shelters,
where they sleep
covered in newspaper blankets
just to keep them warm.
Why is it only in the winter
we want to notice them?
They are there through
all the four seasons,
yet it is only in the winter
their plight becomes newsworthy.
What happened to spring summer and fall?
Don’t those seasons count at all.
They are still vulnerable
in whatever season comes to call,
the runaways and those
who have lost their way.
Why is it only in the winter
that we open our blind eyes
to the plight of these vulnerable lives?
Sadly, to a lot of us
it is only in the winter
and its freezing chills
that we suddenly realize
those less fortunate than ourselves.
However, they are there
everyday of every year
and not just only in the winter.

The Real Thing
La la la
Love is the real thing
You know
Love is the real thing
La la la la
La love
La la la
Love is the real thing
You know
Love is the real thing
La la la la
She is waiting
In the office
For the bell to go
She is thinking
Of their meeting
Just a month ago
Now shes running
Through the people
Everyone so slow
Now he holds her
And he loves her
He tells her so and
La la la
Love is the real thing
You know
Love is the real thing
La la la la
La love
La la la
Love is the real thing
You know
Love is the real thing
La la la la
By the nightfall
They have driven
From the world they know
Shes so happy
Theyre together
And their love will grow
And when you feel your chance has come
Whos going to throw it all away
And if theres someone left behind
You have to say that
La la la
Love is the real thing
You know
Love is the real thing
La la la la
La love
La la la
Love is the real thing
You know
Love is the real thing
La la la la
La la la
Love is the real thing
You know
Love is the real thing
La la la la

You know

Keep It On The Real
No no,
Tell me, tell me.
Keep it on the real,
(the real, the real, the real, the real, the real, the real, the real).
Verse one (kandi):
Trust is something that we cant live without,
Honesty must be there, aint got no room for no doubt.
Reality cant waste no more of our precious time,
Trying to escape the pressures of our mind.
Chorus:
I dont ask for much, no no,
Baby if you want me you gotta tell me something, yeah.
All I want from you is just to keep it comin,
Keep it on the real.
(the real, the real, the real, the real, the real, the real, the real)
Verse two (kandi):
Faithfully Ill give my loving to you,
Soulfully our spirits will make it through.
Respect me baby and Ill respect you,
What more can two lovers do?
