He put the Belt around my life
He put the Belt around my life
I heard the Buckle snap—
And turned away, imperial,
My Lifetime folding up—
Deliberate, as a Duke would do
A Kingdom's Title Deed—
Henceforth, a Dedicated sort—
A Member of the Cloud.
Yet not too far to come at call—
And do the little Toils
That make the Circuit of the Rest—
And deal occasional smiles
To lives that stoop to notice mine—
And kindly ask it in—
Whose invitation, know you not
For Whom I must decline?

Quaternion
Fix belt tip under books on table top
While holding buckle level, step away
Rotate the buckle once; two pi nonstop
A twist results which looping won't unplay.
Restart and rotate buckle four times pi
And now by looping belt round buckle end
The twists are cleared, exhibiting to eye
Zen essence of rotation; comprehend?
Never mind.
October sixteenth, eighteen forty-three,
beside the Royal Canal of Dublin town,
Will Hamilton glimpsed spatial clarity,
as view from fourth dimension looking down.
For multiplying triples, fly one higher,
by summing in a more capacious zone,
‘A circuit closed and spark flashed' to inspire
famed maths graffiti carved in Broome Bridge stone.

Promise This—When You be Dying
648
Promise This—When You be Dying—
Some shall summon Me—
Mine belong Your latest Sighing—
Mine—to Belt Your Eye—
Not with Coins—though they be Minted
From an Emperor's Hand—
Be my lips—the only Buckle
Your low Eyes—demand—
Mine to stay—when all have wandered—
To devise once more
If the Life be too surrendered—
Life of Mine—restore—
Poured like this—My Whole Libation—
Just that You should see
Bliss of Death—Life's Bliss extol thro'
Imitating You—
Mine—to guard Your Narrow Precinct—
To seduce the Sun
Longest on Your South, to linger,
Largest Dews of Morn
To demand, in Your low favor
Lest the Jealous Grass
Greener lean—Or fonder cluster
Round some other face—
Mine to supplicate Madonna—
If Madonna be
Could behold so far a Creature—
Christ—omitted—Me—
Just to follow Your dear future—
Ne'er so far behind—
For My Heaven—
Had I not been
Most enough—denied?

Belt Buckle (live)
RED, RED LIPS
SWIVELIN?HIPS
MOVIN' IN SOME NEW BLUE JEANS
SHUFFLIN' SWEET RIGHT WITH THAT BEAT
SHE CAN REALLY SHAKE THAT THING
BELT BUCKLE
SHININ' DAY AND NIGHT
WHEN SHE SHAKE THAT THING
HOPE IT'S NEXT TO MINE
I SAID, LORD HAVE MERCY, MY O?MY
YOU BEEN LOOKIN' TOO GOOD
I THINK YOU WANNA SHAKE WITH ME
BABY I THINK YOU SHOULD
BELT BUCKLE
SHININ' DAY AND NIGHT
WHEN YOU SHAKE THAT THING
HOPE IT? NEXT TO MINE
PLEASE, PLEASE BABY, I WANNA SAY
YOU LOOKIN' SO FINE
AND IF YOU HOLD MINE NEXT TO YOURS
I'LL HOLD YOU NEXT TO MINE
BELT BUCKLE
SHININ?DAY AND NIGHT
WHEN YOU SHAKE THAT THING
HOPE IT'S NEXT TO MINE

A Shade upon the mind there passes

A Shade upon the mind there passes
As when on Noon
A Cloud the mighty Sun encloses
Remembering
That some there be too numb to notice
Oh God
Why give if Thou must take away
The Loved?

Animal Kingdom
I saw a friend of mine 2day
In an ad sayin what would do my body good
I told him he was wasting time I say
If God wanted milk in me
The breast I suck would have a line around the hood
No member of the animal kingdom nurses past maturity
No member of the animal kingdom ever did a thing 2 me
Its why I dont eat red meat or white fish
Dont give me no blue cheese
Were all members of the animal kingdom
Leave your brothers and sisters in the sea
Animal, animal kingdom {x2}
Who told us we should eat the swine?
U can bet your final money it damn sure wasnt no friend of mine
What about the clams on the shore?
Souls in progress, here come the fisherman - soul no more
No member of the animal kingdom nurses past maturity
(nurses past, oh yeah)
No member of the animal kingdom ever did a thing 2 me
(ever did a damn thing)
So I dont eat no red meat or white fish
Or funky, funky blue cheese
Were all members of the animal kingdom
Leave your brothers and sisters in the sea
Animal, animal kingdom {x3}

Emily Dickinson's Birthday Present
Emily Dickinson's Birthday Present
Miss Dickinson, You are a pear
Prickly in my bed
You fight to hold the covers up
And hiss, 'We are not wed! '
Let me see at least one breast
And kiss its' purple grape
You stay my wrist with iron bands
And softly whisper, 'Rape! ';
This is not fair my prickly pear,
I want to see you nude!
You wrap the sheets and mummify
And tell me I am crude;
Have all your words and clever play
Been a scattering of seeds,
Oh I would plough your two locked legs,
Yet you won't do the deed.
With fiendish strength I guide your hand,
'Oh won't you hold my member? '
She pulls away and turns around,
'My birthday's in December.'

Ourselves were wed one summer—dear
631
Ourselves were wed one summer—dear—
Your Vision—was in June—
And when Your little Lifetime failed,
I wearied—too—of mine—
And overtaken in the Dark—
Where You had put me down—
By Some one carrying a Light—
I—too—received the Sign.
'Tis true—Our Futures different lay—
Your Cottage—faced the sun—
While Oceans—and the North must be—
On every side of mine
'Tis true, Your Garden led the Bloom,
For mine—in Frosts—was sown—
And yet, one Summer, we were Queens—
But You—were crowned in June—

The Sun—just touched the Morning
232
The Sun—just touched the Morning—
The Morning—Happy thing—
Supposed that He had come to dwell—
And Life would all be Spring!
She felt herself supremer—
A Raised—Ethereal Thing!
Henceforth—for Her—What Holiday!
Meanwhile—Her wheeling King—
Trailed—slow—along the Orchards—
His haughty—spangled Hems—
Leaving a new necessity!
The want of Diadems!
The Morning—fluttered—staggered—
Felt feebly—for Her Crown—
Her unanointed forehead—
Henceforth—Her only One!

Where I Wanna Be
Talking all the talk that makes me feel strong
Going all the places where smiles greet me
Cant get it through my head
That I did nothing wrong
It would be easier if I had myself to blame
But its pouring rain under my umbrella
Chorus:
I tried walking around,
round these streets by myself
Said pretty girl dont look down
But I could look no place else
The smiles, the bed, the telephone
And still I cant make him see
And I cant call this life my own
Cause Im not where I want to be
Going out with the girls on a saturday night
Reaching out to strangers
So I dont feel deeply moved
Yeah theyre my friends and I like them alright
But they cant do the things that we used to do
So Ive got to say that I miss you baby
Chorus
Its amazing how one little broken heart
Can radiate so much pain
Some guy looked at me and then he turned away
Saw my eyes sayin I will never fall again
Dont look down
But I could look no place else
The smiles, the bed, the telephone
Still I cant make him see
I cant call my life my own
Cause Im not where I want to be
I tried walking around,
By myself
Said pretty girl dont look down
But I could look no place else
The smiles, the bed, the telephone
Still I cant make him see
I cant call this life my own
Cause Im not where I want to be
round these streets by myself
Said pretty girl dont look down
But I could look no place else
The smiles, the bed, the telephone
And still I cant make him see
I cant call this life my own
Cause Im not where I want to be
No, Im not where I want to be
Oh noo, no no
No, Im not where I want to be
No, Im not where I want to be
Oh no, Im not where I want to be
No, Im not where I want to be
No, Im not where I want to be
No no, Im not where I want to be
I tried walking around,
round these streets by myself
Said pretty girl dont look down
But I could look no place else
The smiles, the bed, the telephone
And still I cant make him see
And I cant call this life my own
Cause Im not where I want to be

I know where Wells grow—Droughtless Wells
460
I know where Wells grow—Droughtless Wells—
Deep dug—for Summer days—
Where Mosses go no more away—
And Pebble—safely plays—
It's made of Fathoms—and a Belt—
A Belt of jagged Stone—
Inlaid with Emerald—half way down—
And Diamonds—jumbled on—
It has no Bucket—Were I rich
A Bucket I would buy—
I'm often thirsty—but my lips
Are so high up—You see—
I read in an Old fashioned Book
That People "thirst no more"—
The Wells have Buckets to them there—
It must mean that—I'm sure—
Shall We remember Parching—then?
Those Waters sound so grand—
I think a little Well—like Mine—
Dearer to understand—

Foolish
My cloud
And everything here is mine
Nobody lives here but me
Unless I say they can
They go when I tell them
Oh conversation begins at a time
When I wish to talk to it
Where I wish to go
Go takes me there on whatever I wish to travel on
Travel keeps me safe
And youre so beautiful
And youre so beautiful
And youre so beautiful
And youre so beautiful
And youre so beautiful
And youre so beautiful
My life treats me well
Life is nice to me
Shooting down the obstacles one by one
Like a matchstick sonisphere
Disappearing in the air
Yeah which lets me breathe what I choose to breathe
And mornings only come when I call them
When Im rested
And rest it comes when I ask it
Then he guides me through the unknown
And the unknown becomes the known
When I say
And youre so beautiful
And youre so beautiful
And youre so beautiful
And youre so beautiful
And youre so beautiful
And youre so beautiful
cause youre all mine, mine, mine, mine, mine, mine
Yeah youre all mine, mine, mine, mine, mine, mine
Yeah youre all mine, mine, mine, mine, mine, mine
Yeah youre all mine
I love it here
I am it here
I live it here
Yeah I am it here
And youre so beautiful
And youre so beautiful
And youre so beautiful
And youre so beautiful
And youre so beautiful
And youre so beautiful

Ms.Emily's Song
She n'er laiughed at much
I've heard
While her smile filled the air
Giggling only at the Butterfly and Bird
And for the Bee a heartfelt prayer
She n'er romanced in her life
I've been told
The Amherst moon divulged the news
Her soul wrapped 'round the yellow gold
The Galaxy 'twas her Muse
The 'Northern Lights' they beckoned
Her away from sod and the Bee
And took her heart in tender grasp
And filled it: 'with promise of eternity'

The Sun is gay or stark
According to our Deed.
If Merry, He is merrier—
If eager for the Dead
Or an expended Day
He helped to make too bright
His mighty pleasure suits Us not
It magnifies our Freight

An Occasional Dream
I recall how we lived
On the corner of a bed
And wed speak of the swedish room
Of hessian and wood
And wed talk with our eyes
Of the sweetness in our lives
And tomorrows of rich surprise...
Some things we could do
In our madness
We burnt one hundred days
Time takes time to pass
And I still hold some ashes to me
An occasional dream
And wed sleep, oh so close
But not really close our eyes
Tween the sheets of summer bathed in blue...
Gently weeping nights
It was long, long ago
And I still cant touch your name
For the days of fate were strong for you...
Danced you far from me
In my madness
I see your face in mine
I keep a photograph
It burns my wall with time
Time
An occasional dream
Of mine
An occasional dream
Of mine
An occasional dream
Of mine

Hear (Dmc Remix)
We all have a dream
of a place we belong
The fire is burning
and the radio's on
Somebody smiles
and it means 'I love you'
but sometimes we don't notice
when the dream has come true
You've got a home here
Call it what you want
You've got a home here
to return to when you can't
face the world and you need
some support to succeed
You've got a home
We all make a mess
of our lives from time to time
It's part of the process
that you stumble as you climb
And if you ever feel
the pain is far too big a deal
I say with pride
I'll be on your side
You've got a home here
Call it what you want
You've got a home here
You're gonna want it when you can't
face the world and you need
some support to succeed
You've got a home

He fumbles at your spirit
He fumbles at your spirit
As players at the keys
Before they drop full music on;
He stuns you by degrees,
Prepares your brittle substance
For the ethereal blow,
By fainter hammers, further heard,
Then nearer, then so slow
Your breath has time to straighten,
Your brain to bubble cool, --
Deals one imperial thunderbolt
That scalps your naked soul.

Knees Of My Bees
we share a culture same vernacular
love of physical humor and time spent alone
you with your penchant for spontaneous events
for sticky and raspy, unearthed and then gone
you are a gift promised sent with a wink
with tendencies for conversations that raise bars
you are a sage who is fueled by compassion
comes to nooks and crannies, is bound for all stars
you make the knees of my bees weak, tremble and buckle
you make the knees of my bees weak
you are a spirit that knows of no limit
that knows of no ceiling who baulks at dead-ends
you are a wordsmith who cares for his brothers
not seduced by illusions of fair-weather friends
you make the knees of my bees weak, tremble and buckle
you make the knees of my bees weak
you are a vision who lives by the signals of
stomach and intuition as your guide
you are a sliver of god on a platter
who walks what he talks and who cops when hes lied
you make the knees of my bees weak, tremble and buckle
you make the knees of my bees weak
you make the knees of my bees weak, tremble and buckle
you make the knees of my bees weak
you make the knees of my bees weak, tremble and buckle
you make the knees of my bees weak
