Searching the exit point
I remained there as before
Seeing the house-full every-time
I remained cool seeing the dog

As your body floats down third street
With the burn-smell factory closing up
Yes its sad to say you will romanticize
All the things youve known before
It was not not not so great

And as you take a bath in that beaten path
Theres a pounding at the door
Well its a mighty zombie talking of some love and posterity
He says the good old days never say good-bye
If you keep this in your mind:
You need some lo-lo-loving arms

I didn’t go to him for any favour;

18 Square Miles

The place is only eighteen square miles.
And is the home of over four thousand gang members.
Some segments of it,
Look as if negligence is tolerated.
And decadence celebrated.

The place is only eighteen square miles.
And sits in a state that use to brag about its affluence.
Clearly with ignorance to salivate.
As disrespect for others is shown...
And lack of discipline and illiteracy,
Considered top rate and obviously condoned.

The place is only eighteen square miles.
With hidden pockets of poverty.
Neighborhoods are divided,
Into sections like an apartheid.
With those who control this...
Absent of vision and intelligence free.

The place is only eighteen square miles.
With racism practiced as a way of life.
And those who inflict their bigotry,
See themselves in a self righteous light.

The place is only eighteen square miles.
And the affects of hunger and homelessness,
Is as protected as the theft that goes on.

Of illogical standards valued.

Of blinded physical and mental abuse!

And outside...the sky is falling
We were dodging raindrops, staying dry

Early morning ride

Early in the morning
hawkers are standing next to the street
and they sell flowers, newspapers,
cigarettes and sweets.

At church square two doves are pairing
on uncle Paul’s head,
while people walk to and fro
and some are in lines
to buy bus tickets

It’s another thing when you are
stressed out
and are scared,
to be late at a new job.

a Bus stands with a closed door
making fumes,
while the driver is walking around inside
and already there are a large number of people
lining up in a queue.

a Pair of love stricken young people
are holding hands
and talk about the previous nights
party and drinks
that they enjoyed
and I try to see the route
to know were I have to get off.

School children tease each other
as far as we go
and time gets wings
and rushes by
and suddenly
I have to disembark.

Irony

this world has known so much anger
it is in fact bored with anger
and fed-up with violence
and so i will not add to it

i will give it laughter to lighten its mood
it is fuming
it is square-faced

i will give it the comfort that it deserves

a square meter of green grass
a few liters of rain
a kilometer of a river
twenty grams of clouds
two trees filled with ripe fruits
three cans of crystal blue sea
