We spend our lives fighting to get people very slightly more stupid than ourselves to accept truths that the great men have always known. They have known for thousands of years that to lock a sick person into solitary confinement makes him worse. They have known for thousands of years that a poor man who is frightened of his landlord and of the police is a slave. They have known it. We know it. … You and I are the boulder-pushers. All our lives, you and I, we’ll put all our energies, all our talents into pushing a great boulder up a mountain. The boulder is the truth that the great men know by instinct, and the mountain is the stupidity of mankind.

Every Minute In Every Day
Every minute,
In every day...
Somebody chooses,
Not to pray.
And every minute,
Come what may...
Somebody says,
They've should have prayed.
The one who struggles with a load on shoulders,
May not get upset...
But sweats.
The one who holds onto their troubles like a boulder,
Wants to prove....
That boulder can't be moved.
But every minute,
In every day...
Somebody chooses,
Not to pray.
And every minute,
Come what may...
Hey,
Somebody says...
They've should have prayed.
The one who holds onto their troubles like a boulder,
Wants to prove....
That boulder can't be moved.
The one who struggles with a load on shoulders,
May not get upset...
But sweats.
And seem to live their lives,
Free of regret.
Yet every minute,
In every day...
Hey,
Somebody chooses...
Not to pray.
And every minute,
Come what may...
Today,
Somebody says...
They've should have prayed.
Yet every minute,
In every day...
Hey,
Somebody chooses...
Not to pray.
And every minute,
Come what may...
Today,
Somebody says...
They've should have prayed.
Somebody who believes,
God is far away!
The one who struggles with a load on shoulders...
May not believe,
That God is far away!
The one who holds onto their troubles like a boulder,
May not believe,
That God is here today!
The one who struggles with a load on shoulders...
May not believe,
That God is far away!
The one who holds onto their troubles like a boulder,
May not believe,
That God is here today!
Every minute,
In every day...
Somebody chooses,
Not to pray.
And every minute,
Come what may...
Somebody says,
They've should have prayed.
Don't be the one to not,
Pray today.
Don't be the one to not,
Pray today.
The one who holds onto their troubles like a boulder,
May not believe,
That God is here today!
Every minute,
In every day...
Somebody chooses,
Not to pray.
And every minute,
Come what may...
Somebody says,
They've should have prayed.
Don't be the one to not,
Pray today.

Come Day Go Day
Another birthday comes
& pushes me even further
over the hill
iil
unwell
(sick of being sick)
pushing this bloody boulder
like Sysiphus up the bloody hill
yet the touch
of your hand
makes me young
& willing
make me so glad
to be
a man
with you
my woman.

Who Is Truly Great?
Great is one who humbles oneself;
Great is one who accomplishes without expectations;
Great is one who labors for others’ welfare;
Great is one who struggles for a noble cause;
Great is one who gives his life for his Maker’s sake;
Great is one who sacrifices his precious life for truth’s sake;
Great is one who takes the road least taken;
Great is one who climbs life’s steep hills;
Great is one who treads dangerous paths for mankind’s progress;
Great is one who risks his life unduly to save others’ lives;
Great is one who although born or made handicapped does extra-ordinary feats;
Great is one who scales heights of achievements rarely done by others;
Great is one who toils in sleep-hours too for mankind’s upliftment;
Great is one who racks his brain to find a cure for a crippling disease;
Great is one who shuns selfishness for the cause of his poorer brethren;
Great is one who dies so that others can live in peace;
Great is one who lives not for oneself but others;
Great is one who loves and forgives his worst foe;
Great is one who leads life in accordance with the Word of God!

Joy
Though joy is better than sorrow joy is not great;
Peace is great, strength is great.
Not for joy the stars burn, not for joy the vulture
Spreads her gray sails on the air
Over the mountain; not for joy the worn mountain
Stands, while years like water
Trench his long sides. 'I am neither mountain nor bird
Nor star; and I seek joy.'
The weakness of your breed: yet at length quietness
Will cover those wistful eyes.

Inward
you shall listen to the voices of the young
the buds have their own kind of songs
that makes you see the past of the roots
you shall disregard the murmur of the stones
the present predicament that you are in
when will you give up being hard on yourself?
stone upon stone
boulder upon boulder
you have crushed what softness is left
on the soil of your birth
there is another way
take what light offers us sometimes
a little warmth
that enlightenment that opens the eyes
of the heart
the path inward
that opens the door of our
souls

On Building With Stone
To be an ape in little of the mountain-making mother
Like swarthy Cheops, but my own hands
For only slaves, is a far sweeter toil than to cut
Passions in verse for a sick people.
I'd liefer bed one boulder in the house-wall than be the time's
Archilochus: we name not Homer: who now
Can even imagine the fabulous dawn when bay-leaves (to a blind
Beggar) were not bitter in the teeth?

He Lives In You
(mark a. mancina/jay rifkin/lebohang morake)
Ingonyama nengw enamabala
Ingonyama nengw enamabala
Night and the spirit of life calling
Oh, oh, iyo mamela oh, oh, iyo
And the voice with the fear of a child answers
Oh, oh, iyo iyo mamela
Wait! theres no mountain too great
Hear these words and have faith
Oh, oh, iyo
Have faith
Hela hey mamela, hela hey mamela
Hela hey mamela, hela hey mamela
He lives in you, he lives in me (hela hey mamela)
He watches over everything we see
Into the waters, into the truth
In your reflection, he lives in you
Dream, and the voice in the wind whispers
Oh, oh, iyo, iyo mamela oh, oh, iyo
Wait! theres no mountain too great
Hear these words and have faith
Oh, oh, iyo
He lives in you, he lives in me
He watches over everything we see
Into the waters, into the truth
In your reflection, he lives in you
Ingonyama nengw enamabala
Ingonyama nengw enamabala
He lives in you, he lives in me
He watches over everything we see
Into the water, into the truth
In your reflection, he lives in you
He lives in you (oh yeah), he lives in me
He watches over everything we see
Into the water, into the truth
In your reflection, he lives, he lives, he lives, he lives in you
He lives, he lives, he lives in you
He watches over everything we see

10 Degrees & Getting Colder
He was standin by the highway
With a sign that just said mother
When he heard a driver comin
bout a half a mile away
Then he held the sign up higher
Where no decent soul could miss it
It was ten degrees or colder
Down by bolder dam that day
He was raised up in milwaukee
Though he never was that famous
He was just a road musician
To the taverns he would go
Singin songs about the ramblin
The lovin girls and gamblin
How the world fell on his shoulders
Back in boulder I dont know
It was out in arizona
That he heard the lady listenin
To each word that he was sayin
To each line that he would write
So he sat down by her table and
They talked about the weather
Ninety-eight point six and risin
Down by boulder dam that day
And she told him she would take him
For a ride in the mornin sun
Back in boulder he had told her
I dont know when I had a better friend
Now hes traded off his martin
But his troubles are not over
For his feet are almost frozen
And the sun is sinkin low
Wont you listen to me brother
If you ever loved your mother
Please pull off on the shoulder
If youre goin milwaukee way
Its ten degrees and getting colder
Down by boulder dam today

To Protect Their Well Being and National Interests
Even though everyone has seen this,
As a boulder falling upon their heads.
It has been requested that we describe it...
As a brief interruption of communicated ideas!
And those unfortunately crushed by the boulder...
Are to be referred to as being deep in interpretive expression!
Thereby,
Using the press releases as a means to avoid public outrage.
That could escalate into a misunderstanding of our journalistic pride...
Interferring with our corporate sponsors decisions,
To further use our 'medium' with added financial backing.
In support of their candidates in the upcoming elections!
We must not lose the confidence of the people,
However.
And they must embrace this as a means,
In our efforts...
To protect their well being and national interests.
This they must accept,
As vital to our bonus and pension plan programs...
Offered to our top excutives!
Once this is clarified and explained...
There should be total comprehension.

On your wedding day
On your wedding day
It gives me a chance to say
And wish that united you stay
For many, many, many more years in gay
I know the love between you
Stays fresh as the morning dew
Glittering in the bright sun’s view
It will ever have its glamour and hue
The day you were solemnized
As husband and wife, was indeed recognized
As a new value system got institutionalized
For the entire human race, though personalized
It was a different path altogether
From the day that year you both became one-for-the-other
But you both in unison made your way to gather
Experiences of life whether pleasant or with issues to bother
You created new values to living
Ensured continuity of human being
Implanted great characters in your offspring
Your efforts praiseworthy in their upbringing
You two are a model family builder
It is not just made of brick and boulder
But built by the right mix of love tender
With strict adherence to great values to ponder
We all need to thank you, great couple
For holding high the stay-ever-in-love principle
That makes your residence a temple
Where your bond makes divine presence twinkle

Faery Song
Sung by the people of Faery over Diarmuid and Grania, in their bridal sleep under a Cromlech.
We who are old, old and gay,
O so old!
Thousands of years, thousands of years,
If all were told:
Give to these children, new from the world,
Silence and love;
And the long dew-dropping hours of the night,
And the stars above:
Gie to these children, new from the world,
Rest far from men.
Is anything better, anything better?
Tell us it then:
Us who are old, old and gay,
O so old!
Thousands of years, thousands of years,
If all were told.

God Is The Light
God is the Light
How great the wonders of the heavens
And the timeless beauty of the night
How great then how great the Creator?
And its stars like priceless jewels
Far beyond the reach of kings
Bow down for the shepherd guiding him home.
But how many eyes are closed
To the wonder of this night?
Like pearls, hidden, deep beneath a dark
Stream of desires.
But like dreams vanish with the call to prayer
And the dawn extinguishes night here too are signs.
God is the Light - God is the Light
How great the beauty of the Earth and the creatures
Who dwell on her.
How great then how great the Creator?
As it's mountains pierce the clouds
High about the lives of men
Weeping rivers for thousands of years.
But how many hearts are closed
To the wonders of this sight?
Like birds on a cage, asleep with closed wings
But as work stops with the call to prayer
And the birds recite here too are signs
God is the Light God is the Light
How great the works of man and the things he makes
How great then how great the Creator?
Though he strives to reach the heavens
He can barely survive
The wars of the world he lives in.
Yet, how many times he's tried,
Himself to immortalise?
Like his parents before him in the Garden of Eden
But like the sun sets with the call to prayer
And surrenders to the night here too are signs
God is the Light Everlasting
God is the Light Everlasting

Lost People
Everyday I encounter a lost people
People who beat at their bodies in daylight
then feed it on fast foods in the dark of their
closets!
People who carry a cross on their backs in the
city streets and shopping malls but are still
nailed to the cross,
Wanting smone to bring them down from their
watchtower of pain!
I see people in a city on hill...a city whose walls
are well lit for the people dead in the valley
below to see!
Yet these people in the city have no lights on
the city streets they walk!
I see people who believe in a superhuman
being...
One who was thrown in a tomb and though he
was held in by a great boulder...
This hero found his way out and not just out of
the crypt but out of the abyss!
But everyday I’m forced to believe that these
people were the thorns in the crown of their
hero,
The nails that held him to the tree,
The whip that tore his back into shreds
And still I believe....
They were that boulder that tried to hold him
inside that cave damp with the stench of death
Yet they could see he was so full of life!
And still every day I watch kids play with action
figures of this great hero...
He has been turned to a crucifix round their
necks...
Unaware of the yoke their action-figure-hero
had to bear
I can’t call him superman coz he aint just a
man...
But the kids know he is cool coz he walks on
water n makes the wise guys look daft!
Everyday I see these people and when I raise
my fist to hurl insult at this lost lot of wolves in
sheep skins...
I can’t help but notice the 6 by 6 inch nails that
rust hanging from my wrists!
I to, am among this herd of ungrateful sheep in
black fleece...
The herd that sold its shepherd

I Know a Girl
I have a friend that I have never met.
A friend of two people.
Of two lives.
One people see and one people don’t.
One writes of pain and heartache while the other,
Lives within.
She wants to be that person trapped inside,
although she doesn’t know her customs.
Her poetry consist of tears and heartbreak.
Yet, the only thing I see is,
The smile she brings to my face,
a great person to talk to,
cause she'll make you laugh,
even if you wanna cry.
I wonder how such a beautiful person,
Could be gray to so many people.
I wish I could tell her everything,
Is going to be O.K. in time of doubt.
But she is the one that has to dig into herself,
To figure out how to become that person,
She wants to be, she needs to be, and I know she is.
Her writing may be made of pain and weakness.
But all I see is,
A smile that makes everyone like her,
That has great strength to get her through hardships.
She is some one I tell my secrets too.
Someone that sees me for who I am,
The me without the mask,
The me with not such a smooth shall,
And is unsure about her next move.
I only show her this cause for almost a year,
She has always been there for me.

By The Rosanna--To F.M. Stanzer Thal, Tyrol
The old grey Alp has caught the cloud,
And the torrent river sings aloud;
The glacier-green Rosanna sings
An organ song of its upper springs.
Foaming under the tiers of pine,
I see it dash down the dark ravine,
And it tumbles the rocks in boisterous play,
With an earnest will to find its way.
Sharp it throws out an emerald shoulder,
And, thundering ever of the mountain,
Slaps in sport some giant boulder,
And tops it in a silver fountain.
A chain of foam from end to end,
And a solitude so deep, my friend,
You may forget that man abides
Beyond the great mute mountain-sides.
Yet to me, in this high-walled solitude
Of river and rock and forest rude,
The roaring voice through the long white chain
Is the voice of the world of bubble and brain.

Another Huge Earthquake
Another huge Earthquake in Java and thousands are missing and dead
Just one angry outburst of Nature leaving millions of people in dread
Of another mighty earth tremor the fear it is real and widespread
Of the destructive power of our Earth Mother so much has been written and said,
Another huge Earthquake to talk of the anger of Nature no human structure can hope to withstand
Once great buildings left in huge piles of rubble as if they were castles of sand
Built by children on the beach at low tide that at high tide were washed out to sea
So great is the power of our Earth Mother and not one as mighty as she,
All of life lives off of Mother Nature and of her power we are aware
And though Nature can kill thousands of people Mother Nature is never unfair
People come and go like the Seasons but Nature she lives on and on
And she will be around forever though all present life forms may be gone
But she will create new life forms and Nature is forever more
And the stream from the hill will flow down to the river that flows to the great ocean shore.
