I have spoken of a thousand points of light, of all the community organizations that are spread like stars throughout the Nation, doing good. …The old ideas are new again because they are not old, they are timeless: duty, sacrifice, commitment, and a patriotism that finds its expression in taking part and pitching in.

We are a nation of communities... a brilliant diversity spread like stars, like a thousand points of light in a broad and peaceful sky.

Harmless pastime for friend Thad
When I survey the skies at night.
I try to count the points of light
although I know it can’t be done
I still attempt to just for fun.
The light which we perceive today
has taken centuries they say.
To travel at the speed of light
from stars beyond our human sight.
Perhaps its true, perhaps its not
but does it matter. Not a lot.
The stars I think that I can see
are part of my reality.
Though they burnt out eons ago.
the speed of light seems very slow.
I see them as they used to be
and that is good enough for me.
I understand each is a sun
but still I count them just for fun.
Those distant twinkling points of light
To me a source of pure delight.
I like to sit and fantasise
about these beacons in the skies.
Set my imagination free
as I sit watching quietly.

Everybody would love to be mayor of Chicago. If you look at what we have done over many, many years and where we are today and the commitment by the business community, the commitment by the not-for-profit community - all this coming together - this is a wonderful city.

One Sided
Is it not one sided?
When not put forward or confided?
How can that be stolen?
When not a word of love is spoken
No one may ever disregard
If that is done with total regard
It is never tore apart
When you are inseparable part
What can be known stand?
Better understanding to befriend
Vow to stand for each other
Hand and hand and completely care
It may serve no purpose
If only you suppose
Offer daily rose
And think you have chosen
Any change is welcome and good
If not deceived and well understood
As love demands for supreme sacrifice
Dedication and commitment with full of promises

I emphasize self-esteem, self-confidence, and dignity, not as an ideal, but as a real test of community organization. Without leadership development, community organizations do not have staying power.

Miranda
At the end of the day
The end of the light
She remains of all of her foes
Miranda is dying with all of her might
She never comes
She always goes
She sticks the camera right into her arm
Anything to forget what the troubles about
It causes her pain
Thats part of the charm
Shes down for the count
And finally out
Miranda is taking the stars down
A little something to call her own
By the light there still goes miranda
And miranda is always alone
She sees her face in another magazine
And the walls all close in
As the fancy takes flight
Cant stand to be loved
But she loves to be seen
She slips headlong into the night
Miranda is taking the stars down
A little something to call her own
By the light there still goes miranda
And miranda is always alone
And then all at once
The sun starts to rise
She sees her father holding her down
All the daylight is poison to her eyes
She slips down the shade
And lets herself drown
Miranda is taking the stars down
A little something to call her own
By the light there still goes miranda
And miranda is always alone
The lights shot down in the arena
All across the safety zone
Loneliness follows miranda
And miranda is always alone
Miranda is always alone
Miranda is always alone

You taught me how to love our country,
Through your music and poetry,
You had raised and lionized our flag,
Preached patriotism through rap.
You promoted our own culture,
Made no discrimination of color,
Showcased the fairness of Philippines,
As the best place for us to live in.
'Mga Kababayan Ko' boldly sang,
Spoken by ev'ry street tongue,
'Ako ay Pilipino' proudly said,
Still be told even though you're dead.
Thank you for makin' me proud,
By making brown nation avowed,
Three stars and the sun is proud of you,
And will never forget you, Kiko.
I won't say good-bye 'cause you live still,
Your words and voice will ring like a bell,
In ev'ry heart of Filipino,
You rap still, my beloved Kiko

I think a good MP is someone who cares for their community and becomes their champion, which is why I will make my home in any seat I am lucky enough to be selected for. Looks play no part in the equation, what matters is your ideas and connecting them to the electorate.

I accept this idea of democracy. I am all for trying it out. It must be a good thing if everybody praises it like that. If our government has been willing to go to war and sacrifice billions of dollars and millions of men for the idea I think that I ought to give the thing a trial. The only thing that keeps me from pitching head long into this thing is the presence of numerous Jim Crow laws on the statute books of the nation. I am crazy about the idea of Democracy. I want to see how it feels.

True Commitment
I've got the rain of sulphur on Soldom and Gomorrah,
But do share your tender love with me;
For true commitment means doing it,
And like the bank and the river.
Offer your pitcher and do not urge me to leave you,
For obedience is better than sacrifice!
And like your horn full of oil towards my love.
True love is part of the risk of life!
And with your sweet love to care about;
But true commitment is all that is needed on this love.

Seemingly endless
As the stars are shining at night
So it shines in my eyes the tear.
In silence, I can hold you tight
And I can feel our love, my dear.
When the stars touch the light of sun,
While they sparkle in the night,
I lay in my bed like a nun.
I feel my sadness and His sight.
I wait everything you give me,
I feel your deep thrill, when it rains,
You make me what I want to be,
A part of you, without deep pains.
As yellow stars are so endless,
The body is ephemerally.
While our feelings are timeless,
Our happiness is divinely.

Freed To Serve
Today I serve the King of kings, proclaiming the freedom He brings,
Freedom from the sin in your life, in a world where temptation is rife;
God sends The Spirit to dwell within, to guide us in this world of sin,
And through His Spirit, living inside, in Christ our Lord we can abide.
Through God’s work of Grace, I was bought from sin’s marketplace,
Paying for me redemption’s price, in full, through His Own Sacrifice;
Providing me New Life in Christ, and granted from God, Eternal Life,
God giving me what I don’t deserve, The Lord now, I gratefully serve.
Reasonable service, for you and me, for all that God did on Calvary,
When He allowed His Only Son to die, in the place of both you and I;
Now giving us Good News to herald, to this lost and darkened world,
Taking to each and every nation, The Good News of God’s Salvation.
Christ finished the redemptive part; God wants from us a willing heart,
To become The Lord’s living sacrifice; for our part, that is a tiny price;
Today wanting us to leave old ways, to live our lives for God’s Praise,
To leave old, sinful ways behind, as Christ renews our heart and mind.
No longer are we to be conformed, to this world, but, be transformed,
Into the very likeness of God’s Son, to be God’s witness to everyone,
Called to service, to be His Light, in a world where wrong seems right,
Faithfully serving the King of kings, while in our hearts, freedom rings.

Sonnet: Poppy-Seeds
’Tis tough to grind poppy seeds to a paste,
By mixie or by any means in haste;
Such is the grittiness of seeds tho’ small,
Invincible a foe, need not be tall.
When united you stand up to your foes,
No might can bring thine heart into chaos;
No war gets lost if army stays one soul;
And patriotism’s a soldier’s goal.
Safeguarding our nation is our duty great;
No citizen succumbs to any bait;
The country’s security is top-most;
Safe must be a nation’s frontiers/ coast.
Indians, do realize this sacred truth,
And fight with thy enemy, nail and tooth.
