Many of the issues that still trouble America have roots in the bitter experience of other times. But however long the journey, our destination is set: liberty and justice for all.

For all my years in public life, I have believed that America must sail toward the shores of liberty and justice for all. There is no end to that journey, only the next great voyage. We know the future will outlast all of us, but I believe that all of us will live on in the future we make.

Walking through the garden of life
Walking through the garden of life
We do experience many ups and downs
Sometimes we see beautiful flowers
Sometimes we are in midst of the prickling thorns
Sometimes we are surrounded by the colorful butterflies
Sometimes we are stung by the angry bee
Walking through the garden of life
We do experience many ups and downs
Sometimes we have to walk over the smooth grass
Sometimes we find a slippery path
Sometimes we have to swim across a long river
Sometimes we find a constructed bridge
Walking through the garden of life
We do experience many ups and downs
We don't know what we might find next
But this suspense makes the journey interesting
And at last when we reach the destination
The entire journey becomes memorable
Yes, walking through the garden of life
We do experience many ups and downs

My Destination
The distance is not so far
Time is very short
It has to be utilized properly
My journey takes me to my destination
The world knows my destination
In a few seconds
In a few minutes
In a few hours
In a few days
In a few months
In a few years....
In every moment my journey takes me to my destination

Destination Unknown
Im getting outta here cause theres too many complications
Yeah Im getting outta here dont get driven any information
And if they ask you for a number to call just say Im gone thats all
Destination unknown, Im a long way from home
Destination unknown, Ill be gone, gone, gone
Destination unknown, destination unknown
If anybody wants me just say you dont know the address
Cause Ive had enough of the confusion and the madness
And should anybody ever try to stall, just say Im gone thats all
Destination unknown, Im a long way from home
Destination unknown, Ill be gone, gone, gone
Destination unknown, destination unknown
Im tired of playing other peoples games
Tired of waiting for some things to change
Destination unknown, Im a long way from home
Destination unknown, Ill be gone, gone, gone
Destination unknown, destination unknown
Im tired of playing other peoples games
Tired of waiting for some things to change
Destination unknown, Im a long way from home
Destination unknown, Ill be gone, gone, gone
Destination unknown, destination unknown
Destination unknown, Im a long way from home
Destination unknown, Ill be gone, gone, gone
Destination unknown, destination unknown
Destination unknown, Im a long way from home
Destination unknown, Im a long way from home
Destination unknown, Im a long way from home

The Journey without shortcuts
The Journey traveled without shortcuts,
is a journey worth taking.
For there are no shortcuts,
to any place worth going.
The destination does not matter,
but the Journey to it does.
For at the destination,
you will not learn anything.
You will not accomplish much either.
On the Journey to it, however,
you learn many things,
and accomplish much.
On the Journey,
you learn. You learn that,
'We are not human beings on a spiritual journey,
but spiritual beings on a human journey.' (-my good friend Joe)
So travel hard,
and travel well.
Choose your companions wisely,
and leave everything behind.
Never look back,
always move forward.
For 'Yesterday is history,
and history is miles away.' (-Matthew West)
But never forget anything either,
learn all that you can,
and treasure the good times.
Then this Journey will be like no other.
This is the Journey,
of life.
Our life here on Earth,
so don't take shortcuts.
This Journey won't be easy,
but you have a guide.
The guide will never leave your side,
and he will carry you through the rough terrain.
He loves you more than you will ever know,
and he gave you this Journey,
so travel it while holding his hand.
You are not alone.
So again,
never look back,
but don't forget either,
and don't stop.
Don't take any shortcuts,
run the whole race.
You are not alone
on this Journey,
the Journey of life.

America
Walkin' 2 the corner of Main Street, USA
Look at the good people, hear what they gotta say-uh-huh
All right
See a sexy girl with her long black hair
See a preacher man sporting Abercrombie wear-uh-huh
All right
Walk into a corner store
A man says, "This is what I'm fighting for"
[CHORUS]
We are living in America
We're giving in America
We're tripping in America
Everywhere I go, seems like Bush is on TV
We shed blood in the name of liberty-uh-huh
All right
The circus tents are dead, but the sideshow is doing well
The Osbournes and Anna Nicole are too freaky 2 tell-uh-huh
All right
Take the bad with the good
I wanna change it, but I wouldn't leave it if I could
We are trying in America
We're spying in America
Getting high in America
We are laughing in America
We're crying in America
We're dying in America
We are trucking in America
We are f**king in America
We are lucky in America
We are breaking ground in America
Just another town in America
We are breaking down in America
Take the bad with the good
I wanna change it, but I wouldn't leave it if I could
[CHORUS]
We are trying in America
We're spying in America
We're getting high in America
We are getting tan in America
We love Spam in America
Polanski's banned from America
10 million served in America
Have u heard in America?
We're crying in America
We're laughing in America
We're living in America

America
(Francis Scott Key)
Oh, say, can you see
By the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed
At the twilight's last gleaming
Whose broad stripes and bright stars
Through the perilous fight
O'er the ramparts we watched were so
Gallantly streaming?
America, America, America
America, America, America
And the rocket's red glare
The bombs bursting in air
Gave proof through the night
That our flag was still there
Oh, say, does that star
Spangled banner yet wave
Over the land of the free
And the home of the brave!
America, America, America
America, America, America
America, America, America
America, America, America
America, America, America
America, America
ooohhh

Perpetual Journey
It came in a dream
-the journey never lasts forever-
It was borne by a dream
- every road has its destination -
A road less traveled
seems the most arduous road of all.
A journey unplanned the most animated
- ensuing a distant call -
brought on by their thoughts, their longings, hopes - their fate.
Their destination already in mind’s eye
possessions sold for attaining a distant goal
not knowing whether submission merits attainment.
A leper reaching for Olympic gold.
Still - the uncertainty of what the future holds
turns routine to adventure
obligation to favor
exploring together the reason for being in unison:
Bridges crossed never are burned
always having a safe retreat
Springs drank from always left to replenish
an abundance to drown in on defeat.
Traveling
A road leading in on itself
a journey prolonged excessively
a journey in itself justifying the destination
the journey ultimately being the destination
Till then being cold feet on hard pavement
seeking hold on the tunneled gloom of desolate track
yet being at peace and contented
showering the journey with roses
reliving every moment whether grievous or elated

My Pledge of Allegiance
We Pledge allegiance to a Flag, symbolizing liberty and justice for all~Proclaiming one nation under God, yet we help other countries fall.
With power and weapons for justice we sing~while death, pain, and sorry is all that we bring. To the republic for which it stands~this Flag should fly high in many lands.
A mask created using Gods name, I look at our country and sometime feel shame. Liberty and justice for all we do say, while war is our solution we kill everyday.
We send our children to war seeking global democracy~In Gods name, we do say this should not be. Nationwide cries, screams for Mercy, who has the power? The land of the FREE!
Is this justice I ask, that we are fighting for, or legalized slavery forever more.
We pledge our allegiance to a flag, symbolizing liberty and justice for all~One Nation for which it stands should include all countries big and small.
As you wave your flag with a gun in your hand~the pledge I shall make is to the creator of this land. I pledge my allegiance to God up above; and pray that someday your Pledge will mean love.
*I know at times war is necessary; however It still hurts my heart to see so much sadness, pain, destruction, and violence! It is time for change...Many blessing and prayers for all of our soldiers, and their families.

Explorations: XXV
a journey,
an evolution...
a life long forgotten
i lived
as many times as i died...
i laughed as many times as i wept..
i rejoiced as many times as i suffered..
ironically, every time i emerged a shade better,
not bitter, whatever i went through..
there's always a trade off...
though i lost mostly
unknowingly or knowingly
i traded the security
of a cage and gave up the sky...
no regrets...
no remorse...
one always gets
what one asks for, i suppose
did i ever live the way i wished
is it possible to live the way one wishes?
will i ever move out of the cage
i confined myself to?
am i not habituated to the cage?
isn't that simpler and easier way to live...?
only a free-bird knows of the difficulties
of the endless skies it flies across
let's see, my friend...
this journey
this evolution

Long Walk Home
If you see liberty tell her I will
Buy her windows on the hill
Laud her flowers on the sill
Till they grow higher and higher.
If liberty was a little girl
Watching all the flags unfurl
Standing at the big parade
How would she like us now?
We balance the power
From hour to hour
Giant guns rage
Its such a long walk home
Its such a long walk home
Its such a long walk home.
From vietnam to old beirut
If we are searching for the truth
Why do we feel that double-edged blade
Cutting through our hand.
America, america
Where have we gone?
Its such a long walk home
Its such a long walk home
Its such a long walk home.
We balance the power
From hour to hour
Giant guns rage
Its such a long walk home
Its such a long walk home
Its such a long walk home.

Liberty Needs Glasses
excuse me but lady liberty needs glasses
and so does mrs justice by her side
both the broads r blind as bats
stumbling thru the system
justice bumbed into mutulu and
trippin on geronimo pratt
but stepped right over oliver
and his crooked partner ronnie
justice stubbed her big toe on mandela
and liberty was misquoted by the indians
slavery was a learning phase
forgotten with out a verdict
while justice is on a rampage
4 endangered surviving black males
i mean really if anyone really valued life
and cared about the masses
theyd take em both 2 pen optical
and get 2 pair of glasses

To My Angela
An angry shout may not be heard, and
Not all good deeds are observed,
Glad is the learned, pure, heart
Ever loved, oft alone, you are
Luminous with life's energy
And part of my soul projects
In you, myself, yourself I respect.
Long days, short years, bitter true
Only one chance to know you, this
Voyage without certain destination
Embarked with unknown duration, for
You I long to know
On terms as friends
Until my journey ends.

Altogether, It is a Different Journey
Altogether, it is a different journey
It is not indeed a usual journey
No flight can reach you
No train runs to that destination
Not a bus
Not a car
You cannot walk to that place
Google earth cannot locate it
GPS does not know this
You do not have an idea as to
How far you need to travel
How much time it will take
How soon or late you will reach
But one thing is sure
You can be back in no time
In your starting point
To be back at your place
And in the middle your regular chores
It is not tourism
Not a sight seeing affair
Not even a pilgrimage
It may not be entertaining too
Path can be enjoyable
It can be painful
But you will only know it
Very importantly you will travel all alone
No one, including your dearest one,
Can accompany you
You are left with yourself only
It is all a free lancing exercise
You will not get tired of this journey
Provided you are determined to be so
Your place of interest
Can be far beyond the sun
And it can be very close and within you
What all you can do is
To visualize
To understand
To comprehend
To consolidate
To get focused
You may get clarity
Of your thoughts
Of your vision
Of what you want to be
Of how to end this issues ridden life path
It is nothing but the journey within you
Which is unique to yourself
And which will be an altogether different journey

Born on the 4th of July.
Liberty is their destination.
Born on
The fourth of July 1776.
Liberty is taken
For the pursuit of happiness's, freedom
And declared, constitution.
Those who have chosen liberty
Have freedom, freedom to choose
Never oppression

Every Man (And Woman)
if every man in America
could reach his own member
with his own mouth,
we wouldnt have a problem
with gay rights!
if every man and woman
in America knew they were
as responsible for their thoughts
as for their actions...
we'd all be on death row!
if every man and woman
in America spent as much time
trying to help their neighbors
as they spend trying to get ahead...
we'd all be taken care of!
if every man and woman
in America were color blind,
we'd have equality!
if every man and woman
in America were honest with
themselves, we'd have justice.
if every man and woman
in America got off their but
and on their feet
we could do something
about this mess!

Heaven's Sweets
My hands stretch
one over the other
climbing I
to higher things.
But since my very destination
means things behind
and below
recede;
are these heady clouds
enlightening
or merely isolating,
clouding my judgment
so to speak
as I,
on my journey
sever myself
from common things?
Such a dilemma
in separating out
oneself
for the separate pursuit
which might satisfy the mind
but which leaves behind
and below
the grounding
necessary to have enlightenment
mean more
than mere self- indulgence.
Can bliss be solitude;
aloneness,
can I if I reach there
be happy
living only on my inside bliss?
Can I aspire to even teach
this bliss
to others which
can only see
their own
solitary journeys?
How to communicate
Heaven's Sweets
if I and I
cannot break concentration
to speak to thee?
And even if I do
then how to tell
of Heaven
which from you
is so far
removed?
How to show that
which is shielded
from you
who only know
what you know
and what you know
does not heaven include
and I in traveling up
cannot remember
the ground?
So what to do?
Perhaps
Heaven and Earth
were not
and cannot
ever
be
really
separate.
Perhaps it is true
that the journey long
whatever its eventual destination
carries with it at all times
a little bit of home
or should.

The selfless actions of these heroes have removed them from their families, businesses and homeland to fight, so that others may experience the liberty awaiting our troops upon safe return to America.
