Hope is the thing with feather
feather
twirls, swirls,
dances
casting
a small theatre
in the air
before touching
the ground
then swept again
by the wind
sommersaults
slides
before taking
another trip
of its wayward dance
evoking hope
in this solitary trip i make
to be a poet
where i give myself up
to the world
trails with the wind
twirls, swirls,
sommersaults
with words
into every man's heart
inspired by:
Hope is the thing with feather —
That perches in the soul—
And sings the tune without the words—
And never stops—at all—
And sweetest—in the Gale—is heard—
And sore must be the storm—
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm—
I've heard it in the chillest land—
And on the strangest Sea—
Yet, never, in Extremity,
It asked a crumb—of Me.
Emily Dickinson

Tiny Dancer
tiny dancer, dance for me
take away every dream and memory
trick me into believing everything is fine
dance til this rain turns to sunshine
as i watch you in my hand
...heal with with your beautiful dance
tiny dancer take me away
show me the way with your ballet
dance until my heart stops bleeding
kiss these wounds so they'll stop leaking
......now shes in me, always with me, tiny dancer in my hand
she dances with her heart and soul just so i can stand

I went away when I was 9 to a ballet school. I thought I wanted to be a dancer, but eight years of ballet cured me of that.

The life of a dancer is tragically short. What is remarkable about the New York City Ballet is that it makes us forget that. Because it keeps the ballet alive.

My background is somewhat unusual, as I trained to be a ballet dancer. I worked in the theatre for eight or nine years as a contemporary dancer. But as an actor one does read Shakespeare and does try to learn the classics.

Clotheslines dont do clothes
clothesline does
not do clothes
here is hung the fun
of the whole family
when heaven
affords a blessing,
a breeze -
the clothesline
opens the way
for the whole family
to strut, boggie
sister's lace shawl
goes up in a straight line
turns hand of wind
flutters up, down
a choreographer showing
the way to swing
with hands, legs
and enviable physique
brother's new jeans
well, like him refuses to
go unnoticed
though pegged -
as is mom controlled -
left, right, right, left
the leggy pant turns
one leg ultimately got stucked to the line
if only they have taken off the tack
it (the pant) would have flown
right next door, into the heart of his fancied girl
dad's tie does a non stop
flight, like his inspired mind
never at a moment, stops working
mom's long skirt, it swings
in the most gracious fashion
as if it owns the whole field
and the bras, wow, do they look obscene?
not at all, innocently, they fly
a ballet dancer's frilly skirt twirls
granny too joins in the fiesta
of colours, shape and style
her blouse with its heavy pads
maintain an edge like her
without giving way to the wind
it hardly even tilts

Shades of Grey
The pencil
Swirls and twirls
Along an unknown path
She reveils
In the feeling
Of making a masterpiece
Lead covers her hands
A metallic gleam
A picture is forming
Shades of grey
Entwine on the canvas
Her art
Her emotions
All implied by her picture
A million words
Gone unwritten
But all are spoken
Through
Shades of grey
Swists and turns
Curves and waves
Each singular line forms
She is embedded
Into every stroke
On the canvas
The essence of
Her will remain
Even as she fades away
Her art will live on

Dancer
Im not invited to the party
Been sitting here all night
Im all alone here at the party
Aint got no black coat
Aint got no tie
I gotta shape up now
You gotto know why
Dancer, dancer
I cant live with it Im gonna die without it
Dancer, dancer
Aint no doubt about it
Dancer, dancer
Why dont you kick off your dancing shoes
And come along with me
Youre the life and soul of the funk-tion
It took me all night
To get hold of the right introduction
Blew me out of sight
I taste your lipstick
I look in your eyes
You feel fantastic
My body cries
(chorus)
(hot space)
Dancer, dancer
I cant believe your dancing
Cant take you home, cant take your dancing
Dancer, dancer, dance the night away

Being a former dancer, classical dancer, it informed me as a human being just in terms of the grace I guess. Ballet is a very graceful form of art. You also become very aware of your body and your mind and your body is working in conjunction. That kind of helps you in acting as well. It's not only using your mind, it's like making your mind communicate this character into your body so that you can bring it to life and physicalize it.

The world turns on
The world turns on
I've walked the deserted streets
The world turns on
I've seen where the monster sleeps
The world turns on
I've seen where the monster eats
The world turns on
We are the monster in it's sleep
The world turns on
Consuming, Unending
Destroying, Reforging
We are the monster in it's sleep
And when we awake
We will be destroyed
And yet
The world turns on
