You Lay There Returned

You lay there returned
between the wings of your breathing
graced by the mystery of feeling
before you awaken thought
do our hands draw themselves
or are they drawn by another
how do we give so much
in isolation
in these simple ways
in strings of radiance
with so little nourishment

Blessed With This Gift

If one makes a decision,
To awaken seeking ways to appreciate life.
With a feeling that expresses a gratefulness,
To experience this gift.
They will see opportunity.
And know to them it has already been given.

If one makes a decision,
Life is to be lived and not taken for granted...
Blessings given will be shared,
If they awaken with thoughts...
To be to others more caring!

If...
And that's not a big 'if' to ponder.
Not to awaken thinking of possibilities!
Or what this day given brings.

If...
One makes a decision,
To awaken seeking ways to appreciate life.
One just has to start,
Realizing each day when they awaken...
They have already been blessed with a gift!

If...
For them that is a decision made,
To see a life that has been given that way...
Fortunes are at their fingertips.
With a pricelessness that enriches.

If one makes a decision,
To awaken seeking ways to appreciate life.
And feeling blessed with this gift.

Invisible Strings

(ian hunter)
One, two, three
Well I woke up this morning - theres a girl in my bed.
How did she get there? was it something I said?
I dont understand it but somehow it seems
She visits me in invisible dreams.
Over and over I try to explain
How did that girl get into my veins?
Did somebody send her - was it my velvet wings?
And how does she touch my invisible strings?
Invisible strings - invisible strings
These are a few of my favorite things
Now its all over when the fat lady sings
Ill still be playing my invisible strings
Well maybe she dont have a world of her own
Maybe shes using me just like a phone
And sometimes shes cool and sometimes she stings
And Im all tangled up in invisible strings
Invisible strings - invisible strings
These are a few of my favorite things
When youre wearing black and Im wearing wings,
Well still be playing those invisible strings
Well she never leaves - Im never alone
I aint in the book but shes still calling home
I tried to lose her - watch the tv
But that womans always picking on me
Well, theres strings round my body, strings round my heart
Id like to know where the string-pulling starts
Id give anything to meet the angel who sends
Invisible ink to my invisible pen
Invisible strings - invisible strings
These are a few of my favorite things
When youre wearing black and Im wearing wings,
Well still be playing our invisible strings
Invisible strings - invisible strings
These are a few of my favorite things
Now its all over when the fat lady sings
Well still be playing our invisible strings
Invisible strings - invisible strings
Oh yeah

Isolation

Pop/bowie
Needed you, you were only using
Needing you just tore me down
And here I stand in isolation
Feeling emptiness and doubt
Walking down the broken highway
Sucking sugar plain and sweet
Did your mother ever tell you
That the joyful are free
I need some lovin
Like an inmate needs a dime
I need some lovin
Like a poet needs a rhyme
Here I stand in isolation
My empty hands in isolation
Walking down the broken highway
Sucking sugar cause its my way
Find me one heart to complete with
Heading for the farthest reaches
I need some lovin
Like a body needs a soul
I need some lovin
Like a fastball needs control
Here I stand in isolation
My empty hands in isolation
Strike up the band
In this proud land
Got a lot to do
Got a lot to say
Got a life to live
Here I stand-
In isolation

Isolation

In fear every day, every evening,
He calls her aloud from above,
Carefully watched for a reason,
Painstaking devotion and love,
Surrendered to self preservation,
From others who care for themselves.
A blindness that touches perfection,
But hurts just like anything else.
Isolation, isolation, isolation.
Mother I tried please believe me,
I'm doing the best that I can.
I'm ashamed of the things I've been put through,
I'm ashamed of the person I am.
Isolation, isolation, isolation.
But if you could just see the beauty,
These things I could never describe,
These pleasures a wayward distraction,
This is my one lucky prize
Isolation, isolation, Isolation, isolation, isolation.

Praises

When you awaken one morning,
And feeling the absence of B.S.
Don't stop to wonder where it is...
Or quickly get dressed,
Expecting your usual day of stress.

Thank God for the moment!
And address this happiness.
Do your best to keep this feeling!
And express your thankfulness...
With praises you are willing to give,
Accept and share!
Hold onto it with a firm grip!
And pray to keep it there.

When you awaken one morning,
And feeling the absence of B.S.
Don't rush to the window as the sunrise lifts!
Forget that it ever came to visit.
And forgive yourself 'if' it is missed!
Sit...
With praises you are willing to give!

To Sylvia Plath

You had awaken with a burning flame
trying to keep a small universe in your hands
while you turned your eyes to the almighty Father

with words that are unquenchable on paper
you thought about pain, exhaustion.
You had awaken with a burning flame,

to people that did not regard your words
you wanted to give life with all its blemishes,
while you turned your eyes to the almighty Father

until you could not go on anymore
when your courage, your life force started to diminish.
You had awaken with a burning flame,

where you tried to set the fire ablaze again
with nothing further to hold on to
while you turned your eyes to the almighty Father,

you turned your hands to your own life
and it was gone, had vaporise like dew;
you had awaken with a burning flame
while you turned your eyes to the almighty Father.

Six Different Ways

six different ways
This is stranger than i thought
Six different ways inside my heart
And everyone i'll keep tonight
Six different ways go deep inside
I'll tell them anything at all
I know i'll give them more and more
I'll tell them anything at all
I know i'll give the world and more
The think i'm on my hands and head
This time they're much too slow
Six sides to every lie i say
It's that american voice again
It was never quite like this before
Not one of you is the same
This is stranger than i ever thought
Six different ways inside my heart
And everyone i'll keep tonight
Six different ways go deep inside

Waiting In The Wings

(andy hill/pete sinfield)
I need you like freedom
I feel you like rain
I see you like silver rails across an endless plain
And I know there are moments
You feel as I do
Thats why Im waiting for you
This time around I wont push for an answer
Both of us need to be sure
To be strong
When the moment comes
Ill be your dancer
Ill be your singer
And your song
When your heart is weary
When you want a love with no strings
I will be here waiting
Waiting in the wings
Waiting in the wings
A natural dreamer
A maverick soul
How close can I be to you
And still not lose control?
And as close as the ocean
As near as the sky
As near as the tears I dont cry
Maybe a fool has been drowned in a vision
Hung up to dry in the teeth of the wind
Believing in the truth of your decisions
Thats all there is until the end
When your heart is weary
When you want a love with no strings
I will be here waiting. Ill be waiting
Waiting in the wings
Ill be waiting
Ill be waiting
When your heart is weary
When you want a love with no strings
I will be here waiting
Waiting in the wings
When your heart is weary
When you want a love with no strings
I will be here waiting
Waiting in the wings
When your heart is weary
When you want a love with no strings
I will be here waiting
Waiting in the wings

This is how I miss

your furtive hands are covering my sight
as thin shallow veils of purest silk,
when the warming morning sun rises
I welcome it with a bitter sigh.

unbroken silence of the hours that go by
I hear a tuneless neverending elegy,
of the strings of minutes played
by invisible hands of destiny.

a radiance of your aura breaks in poetry
as I pretend to enjoy the creativity
of a new poem you dedicate to me,
but my heart breaks suddenly!

to me, dark nightfall is a somber requiem
I tamed, made me the carrier of flame
alone I came, and hidden for awhile
behind the fourtress of a smile.

I cried like an angel waiting at the gate
please, do not take my solitude away!
pain and sadness, now all I've got
lost in fields of forget-me-not.

it is not my fault we were born this way
I am the night, whilst you're the day!
my frozen lips, awaken with a kiss
of yours! for this is how I miss..

Trust Is..(Please Forgive Me)

trust is me telling the truth.
trust is you believing me.
trust is me not being afraid.
trust is you not making me.

deep down within, i hope real hard
deep down within, i scream and shout
deep down within, i cant help but cry
deep down within, i think theres no way out

for what once had has now been lost
for that i blame myself
for childish as this thought may sound
for that long gone i sorely miss

trust we had so long ago.
trust which i destroyed.
trust is what we need again
trust to make us strong

all i can give is a simple word...sorry
all i can give is a simple thought...happiness
alli can give is a simple emotion...love
all i can give is a simple thing...my heart

i just need you to forgive me...
without you i have nothing i want to give

Sleeping Out: Full Moon

They sleep within. . . .
I cower to the earth, I waking, I only.
High and cold thou dreamest, O queen, high-dreaming and lonely.

We have slept too long, who can hardly win
The white one flame, and the night-long crying;
The viewless passers; the world's low sighing
With desire, with yearning,
To the fire unburning,
To the heatless fire, to the flameless ecstasy! . . .

Helpless I lie.
And around me the feet of thy watchers tread.
There is a rumour and a radiance of wings above my head,
An intolerable radiance of wings. . . .

All the earth grows fire,
White lips of desire
Brushing cool on the forehead, croon slumbrous things.
Earth fades; and the air is thrilled with ways,
Dewy paths full of comfort. And radiant bands,
The gracious presence of friendly hands,
Help the blind one, the glad one, who stumbles and strays,
Stretching wavering hands, up, up, through the praise
Of a myriad silver trumpets, through cries,
To all glory, to all gladness, to the infinite height,
To the gracious, the unmoving, the mother eyes,
And the laughter, and the lips, of light.

Dividends Returned

You deserve, earn and get...
The dividends returned,
From your wise investment.

Treat me,
Like I am your treat to eat.
Like a burst of flavor quinching your thirst!
And I will provide the motivation encouraged...
To flourish undisturbed,
The nourishment from you that purges.

Speak to me in unregretted respect.
And you will never regret...
Or need to worry what from me comes next!
For you I will be direct and uncomplexed.
To leave you never to wonder,
If I have delivered to you my best.

You deserve, earn and get...
The dividends returned,
From your wise investment.

I will give for you to see...
Only evidence believed!

Rabindranath Tagore

The Gardener XVI: Hands Cling to Eyes

Hands cling to hands and eyes linger
on eyes: thus begins the record of our
hearts.
It is the moonlit night of March;
the sweet smell of henna is in the air;
my flute lies on the earth neglected
and your garland of flowers is
unfinished.
This love between you and me is
simple as a song.
Your veil of the saffron colour
makes my eyes drunk.
The jasmine wreath that you wove
me thrills to my heart like praise.
It is a game of giving and with-
holding, revealing and screening again;
some smiles and some little shyness,
and some sweet useless struggles.
This love between you and me is
simple as a song.
No mystery beyond the present;
no striving for the impossible; no
shadow behind the charm; no groping
in the depth of the dark.
This love between you and me is
simple as a song.
We do not stray out of all words
into the ever silent; we do not raise
our hands to the void for things
beyond hope.
It is enough what we give and we
get.
We have not crushed the joy to
the utmost to wring from it the wine
of pain.
This love between you and me is
simple as a song.

Draw String

The curtains in my living room
lift and fall
gracefully
as I pull their strings each day;
marking the rise and fall of each
season
and each day in between-
punctuation
for the life between you and me.

Like my skirts
they lifted first
and fell
on our wedding bed
on our wedding night-
and now gracefully on special nights;

They rose to the realities
of married life-
fell during our dark times-
and ring during the good times
with loving making
and bedroom laughter.

I cannot
each time I draw
the strings
but marvel
at morning light;
folding away yet
another night
with you.
.
My curtains offer me regularity
which is comforting to me.

I dust them-
not often enough
worn with the years;

uplift them
for the view of the garden
and you coming home
over the back fence.

I draw them each time
anticipating
magically
in doing
so
you, too,
are drawn
home
to my bosom
each day.

Watch
as I draw
this string.

You'll see:
He'll be there

coming over
the back fence;
home to me.

Permafrost

Permanent isolation,
a permafrost inside my soul.
Depths inside,
I cannot count on
to remind
Give to let go.

24 and ashtray windows,
surrounded by
mirrors of snow.

Lost in tracks,
ripples on pavement
weaving thoughts
the mind will not show.

Permanent isolation,
a permafrost inside my soul.
Depths inside I cannot count on
to remind,
give to let go.

Why do we
plan all our movements?
color schemes
and castles for show.

While sunken eyes
and sullen heart strings
are placed inside,
walls cannot grow

A permafrost,
she gives what I gave her
to remind,
give to let go.

A Race

Thinking on the childish longings,
Makes me laugh and takes again,
To the golden age when I played,
With the boys of the same size and age,
All we often ran and raced,
To see the end of the ball of the Earth,
Or touch the bending horizon,
Too blue, too near, too clear,
And to attain crimson hue of twilight,
Ah! But returned,
Out of breath with empty hands.

When we played in the meadows green,
The wings of the Moon-soon winds,
Did bring on the plains of the Punjab,
Flocks of clouds thick and dark,
Drifted by shepherds with sticks unseen,
That seemed landing upon the pastures,
We ran and raced under or along,
To possess the lowering object in hands,
Ah! But returned,
Out of breath with empty hands.

Oh! My friends I have been convinced,
To the thought that the floating world,
Is made of vapour or condensed clouds,
For in the days of youth, grown up age,
I ran the race with the faster pace,
After the world but could not catch,
And brought me now to the brim of grave,
Ah! But out of breath with empty hands.

The Easiest Thing

Suddenly theres meaning
To all my hoping and dreaming
And joy I have never felt before
Suddenly theres a reason
Something I can believe in
And finally I know what my heart is for
This is the easiest thing to do
Yes the easiest thing to do
Its as simple and natural as
Breathing out and breathing in
Yes the easiest thing is loving you
Suddenly Im weightless
Feel I could fly or walk on
With my feet never touching the ground
And I know Im not crazy
And now I know Im not sleeping
No the searching is over
And baby Ive found
This is the easiest thing to do
Its the easiest thing to do
Its as simple and as natural as
Breathing out and breathing in
Yes the easiest thing is loving you
Suddenly the sadness is gone
And I dont have to tell myself
To struggle through
To carry on

Sinned against sin

I was sinned against sin
The situation was half loss and half win
She was with fluctuating mind
She was confused for the solution to find

I used to draw aspiration in the dream
She was part of my powerful team
I may always be struck with new plot
She was there in particular slot

She felt at one stage that here mind is polluted
Her main thoughts on purity are diluted
She has remained restless for number of days
At least now she has found the reasonable ways

I was deeply disturbed and annoyed
Was the message meant for me and conveyed?
What was she intending to pass on?
So many ideas rushed in minds and gone

She must have thought it privacy invasion
Her modesty was about to be violated in confusion
She had lots of things in mind to address
Whole of relation was in doldrums and in mess

I saw clear danger in it and tried to withdraw
There was one particular lessen to draw
You can’t rely much on female’s views
It may be drawn out of forced reviews

I simply decided to withdraw from the field
She had her own way of thinking and opinion firmly held
I was free and natural bird who may like to have beautiful tunes
What was it to me to have large or big fortunes?

I left everything behind in smokes
I considered it a cruel joke
It had nothing to do with routine life
She was nurturing me in dream as simple wife

It is said” there is someone behind your success”
She may have complete control with full access
You might be even blinded with her dominance
As it is usually happening with the romance

For poets it is nightmare
They have no permanent refuge or to go somewhere
They have their own clipped wings
They easily get carried away when some one sings
