Write A Song

This is a song
And I'm holding a guitar
I'm pouring out my long
And lonely heart

Now I know why Taylor said
What she said about teardrops
On her guitar
Every time I'm hurting I
Turn Taylor on
I pick up my guitar
And write a song

I say I'm not over you
But I think I'm moving on
I'm wandering in this desert
Going on and on and on

Now I know why Taylor said
What she said about teardrops
On her guitar
Every time I'm hurting I
Turn Taylor on
I pick up my guitar
And write a song

Drew didn't hurt me
But I still feel the pain
Every time I think of you
Hugging me on that very last day

Now I know why Taylor said
What she said about teardrops
On her guitar
Every time I'm hurting I
Turn Taylor on
I pick up my guitar
And write a song

Chick Magnet

Don’t play the cello if you want
to be a magnet for the chicks,
a guy who on guitar strings picks
is thought be far more gallant.
I learnt this fact from Yo-Yo Ma,
who probably believes that poets
have also far more luck with coeds
than cellists. Maybe many are,
but I am not, unfortunate
with poems as he is with cello.
I wish I were a magnet fellow,
and made the chicks importunate,
first for my poems, then my bod,
but since I don’t play the guitar,
my life is black as café noir,
and I am lonelier than God.

Charlie Rose on December 3,2008 interviewed Yo-Yo Ma, who accompanied on his cello the singer and songwriter from North Carolina, James Taylor, who also plays the guitar. Yo Yo explained that he has played the cello since the age of three, and that this has not made him a chick magnet. James Taylor started off by playing the cello but gave it up for the guitar, which Yo-Yo considers a wise decision.

Guitar And Pen

You're alone above the street somewhere
Wondering how you'll ever count out there
You can walk, you can talk, you can fight
But inside you've got something to write
In your hand you hold your only pen
Never spend your guitar or your pen
Your guitar or your pen
Your guitar or your pen
Your guitar or your pen
Your guitar or your pen
When you take up a pencil and sharpen it up
When you're kicking the fence and still nothing will budge
When the words are immobile until you sit down
Never feel they're worth keeping, they're not easily found
Then you know in some strange unexplainable way
You must really have something
Jumping, thumping, fighting, hiding away
Important to say
When you sing through the verse and you end in a scream
And you swear and you curse cos the rhyming ain't clean
But it suddenly comes after years of delay
You pick up your guitar and you can suddenly play
When your fingers are bleeding and your knuckles are white
Then you can be sure, you can open the door
Get up of the floor tonight
You have something to write
When you wanna complain there's no one can stop you
But when your music proclaims there's no one can top you
You are wearing your heart on your jumping feet
You've got a head start away from the street
But is that what you want, to be rich and be gone
Could be there's just one thing left in the end
Your guitar and your pen
When you sing to your Mum and you hum and you croon
And she says that she'd like it with more of a tune
And you smash your guitar at the end of the bed
Then you stick it together and start writing again
And you know that it won't be too long till your back -

My Sad Guitar (In Iraq)

When I play...my sad guitar,
With powered chords...of deep emotion.
I strum the strings...with such devotion,
When I play...my...sad...guitar.

When I play...my sad guitar,
In a bunker, built in the sand.
This war torn country, this desert land,
I miss playing...In a rock and roll band.
When I play...my...sad...guitar.

When I play...my sad guitar,
My memories play,
Deep in my mind,
I try to find-
Our... wedding... day!
When I play...my...sad...guitar.

When I play...my sad guitar,
I think of my Harley...My hot-rod car,
Wishing I was home,
With a beer in a bar.
When I play...my...sad...guitar.

My Guitar.

my guitar has six strings,
it gets lonely when nobody sings,
musical and magical,
my pick makes my guitar sound so magical,
and no matter were i go shes right there,
when i play my guitar people always stare,
we sound so good together,
i hope my guitar will stay with me forever,
my guitar has six strings.
but it gets lonely when no one sings,
my guitar is never out of tune,
it doesnt matter who i play it too,
wether you're happy, mad or feeling blue,
just remember my guitar will help you get thru.

New songs

When I pick up my guitar,
my fingers start to strum.
Before too long,
I have a song.
With lyrics,
From my heart.
Yet, in the morning the song is gone,
And the canvas is blanc again.
Free to write another song,
That comforts me like a friend.

Guitar Heaven

Written by: neil diamond
Hey little boy
Just sitting on your back porch
Picking on your guitar
Wishing you were far away
Well, I can tell
Youve had a little bit fo a dream
I see it in your eyes
I can hear it in the songs you play
And hey little boy
Just play it like you feel it
Make it so real
Its almost to real to take
Just swing it like a player
Make it like a prayer
Its one from the heart
Give it all of the hear it can take
And when you play what you wanna play
Just reach down to the soul
You keep on growing and youll know some day
That sound is gonna turn into gold
Boy, youre taking me there
To guitar heaven
And without saying a word
You lay it all on the line
And make me leave my cares
In guitar heaven
Just go and play your song
I could stay all night
Play it son
(guitar solo)
You know, youre taking me there
To guitar heaven
You make me feel every sound
You make it shine like a light
Im gonna lose my cares
In guitar heaven
You go and play that song
Im gonna stay a while
Go and play that song, boy
Im gonna stay a while
The way you play that song
Makes me wanna smile

I Can Play (Lyrics) :

He didn't give himself up to fear.
And his voice had a life of its own.
He didn't give himself up for broke.
Just a man who played his guitar.

He said 'I can play the guitar', 'I can play it clear'.
'I can play the guitar'.'I can play'.
'I can play the songs that you want to hear'.
'I can play the guitar'.'I can play'.

'I can play the guitar'.'I can play it clear'.
'I can play the guitar'.'I can play'.
'I can play the songs that you want to hear'.
'I can play the guitar'.'I can play'.

He didn't give himself up to drinking beer.
His voice still had a life of its own.
And he didn't give himself up for smoke.
Just a man who played his guitar.

He said 'I can play the guitar'.'I can play it clear'.

He didn't give himself up to curcumstance.
Always tried to make it alone.
He didn't give himself up to telling lies.
His honesty was already shown.
Always kept himself up to par.
Just a man who played his guitar.

He said 'I can play the guitar'.'I can play it clear'.

'I can play the guitar'.'I can play'...

This Guitar

(one, two, three, four)
Found myself out on a limb
But i'm happier than i've ever been
But this guitar can't keep from crying
Learned to get up when i fall
Can even climb rolling stone walls
But this guitar can't keep from crying
This here guitar can feel quite sad
Can be high strung, sometimes get mad
Can't understand or deal with hate
Responds much better to love
I though by now you knew the score
But you missed the point just like before
And this guitar can't keep from crying
(this) guitar, it can't keep from crying
This guitar can't keep from crying
This here guitar can feel quite sad
Can be high strung, sometimes get mad
It can't understand or deal with hate
Responds much better to love
While you attack, create offence
I'll put it down to your ignorance
But this guitar it can't keep from crying
This guitar can't keep from crying

This guitar can't keep from crying

The Fastest Guitar Alive

Orbison/dees
Hey here I go a lucky so and so
Happy cos I know Ive got my fast guitar
Singing pretty songs, knowing I belong
I am first and last, and always a fast guitar
The fastest guitar alive
Rattling strings like a gattling gun
Shaped like a lovely woman
Stay right where you are
My guitar is a fast guitar
The fastest guitar alive
Im rolling on like a rolling stone
Gathering no moss, I play a boss guitar
The fastest guitar alive
Strumming like a battling soldiers drum
Shaped like a lovely woman
Stay right where you are
My guitar is a fast guitar
The fastest guitar alive
Hey here I go a lucky so and so
Happy cos I know Ive got my fast guitar
The fastest guitar
The fastest guitar
The fastest guitar alive

Me And My Guitar

Me and my guitar
Always in the same mood
I am mostly flesh and bones
And he is mostly wood
Never does grow impatient
For the changes I don't know, no
If he can't go to heaven
Maybe, I don't want to go, Lord
Picture me in the key of E
Call me Uncle John
Any fool can easily see
That we go back a long time
Feel something like fine to me
There's no such thing as the wrong time
He hops up on my knee
Singing, get down pops
It's song time
Every now and then I'm a lonely man
It's nice to know that I've got a friend
Puts his power right in my hand
All l've got to do is the best I can
If I can
Got a dog named David
Got a bird named Dinah
Got a birthmark on my thigh
In the shape of Mainland China
Got a somewhat southern accent
'Cause I come from Carolina
And if you want to find us
We'll be walking right behind you
I hear horns
I hear voices
I hear strings
Seems I was born
With too many choices
Now what am I going to do
With all these extra things
As they serve to confuse me, really
It's me and my guitar
Essentially me and my guitar
Oh maybe a few friends fall by for tea
A little bit of who do you love
But pay no attention
To the man behind the curtain
It's me and my guitar
Having fun, boogie, woogie, uh-huh
Me and my guitar

I've Come For My Guitar

ive come for my guitar
at least give me that much
you stole my dreams, and broke my heart
and left me here as such

i left it here in hopes,
that youd bring it back to me
but obviously you dont care
and now i plainly see

ill take it home and write a song
about how bad i feel
because now ive finally realized
that none of it was real

so ive come for my guitar
its time to let it go
and now this is goodbye i guess
i guess ill never know.....

This Is How I Let Go

Guitar in hand
It plays my heart's tunes
As here, in my bathroom, I stand
Eyes closed
All emotion flowing from my heart into my hand
Then out of my guitar's notes

Here I stand
All emotion flowing
Lost and confused
My hurt is now showing

I say, 'let it show'
And continue to write and play my guitar
Out, my hurt does flow
Onto the paper and from the guitar
This is how I let my hurt go
And soon by what people read
They will know
This is how I let it go

Playing my little guytar

Playing my little guitar
A new song I start to write
The rhymes come so fast
In the space, the imagination fly

Playing my little guitar
The rhymes become funny to eyes
I start to wish something different
Becoming true the others lies

So the birds start to dance in the floor
And the fishes to fly in the sky
Everything is becoming funny
So, I forget my little guitar, why?

So let it go, let it invent
The world is so beautiful, you don't need to pretend
The tears become a smile
The hate becomes funny for a while
And everything becomes true the imagination
Playing my little guitar
Letting fly my little heart
To something that always you can keep.

The Fate of a Musician

Every day I pick up my guitar and just play
I write my own songs with the help of friends
We design music and lyrics we start new trends
Acoustic guitar, electric guitar or 12 strings
These instruments have played my songs and I have grown wings
Soaring and flying watching my creations grow
As the music expands the lyrics just flow
The more I create the more passionate I become
The more I play the more fun we have
Music gives me something to do
Each song I write I will be sure to see through
When I am up on stage standing in the spotlight
I spread my wings, start playing, and take flight!
When the crowd cheers you get a feeling of inspiration
After the gig you’re sitting home alone
You pull out your guitar stick in the headphones
You start strumming, creating your own beat
You sit there all night tapping your feet
The history of music and the sound you create
Brings friends closer together I reckon its more then fate.

My Guitar And A Penutbutter Jar

I sit and play my guitar all day
as my fingers lay on the strings so tight
strumming it lightly
make sounds of pain
my fingers are bleeding but i dont care
the pain i feel inside is much stronger
why am i still alive?
can i take this any longer?
his voice tells me to keep playing on
my hearts want to die after my last song
i reach for the jar of penutbutter
they say there is happyness at the bottom
but they lie
the only thing i have left
is my guitar and an empty penutbutter jar
scrapping at the bottom as it keeps me busy
my hearts are screaming PICK UP THE BLADE! !
dont put it down because its the only happeness you will ever know
its hard to stop some times i give in and do it
the blood flowing from my wrist to my guitar
my tears mixing in
so maybe there is hapyness in
my self mutilation, my guitar
and at the end of an empty penutbutter jar

Music of the Stars

(to Johnny Alegre)

I heard you first as I walked by
Abelardo Hall
The faint strains of a lead guitar
I just could not ignore

Quietly I entered
the large dim-lit hall
Soon I sat there feeling
What I've never felt before

It was the sound of longing
through the strings of your guitar
A man surrendering his heart
A traveller soul-searching
reaching for the stars
A prayer from the heart

You didn't know me back then
But I can tell you now
The music that possessed you
Took me in its power

For on that day a wayward flame
Touched my very soul
And to this day it haunts me still
A song from long ago

It was the sound of longing
though the strings of your guitar
That echoed the longing in my heart
I know I won't forget
That mystical guitar
That song of timeless distant stars

Life is a song

Life is a song,
Sing it your Way,
Sing your heart out,
Sing it to God.

Life is a song,
When I play my guitar,
Let my guitar sings along the way,
My life is an angel when I live in eternity.

Life is a song,
Follow the rhythm,
Follow the heart beat,
Follow the time signature and instinct.

Life is a song,
When seasons come and go,
When we down and happy, ,
When we lonely and alone.

Life is a song,
Never bore with it,
Never let it passes by,
Instead compose it your way,
The way you love to sing your song.
