Wrinkles and Grey Hair (Children)
Mommy's getting wrinkles.
Daddy has grey hair.
It wasn't very long ago
when those things weren't there.
Wish I could smooth the wrinkles out
and darken Daddy's hair
to stop the changes going on.
It makes me feel so scared.
Grampa, does it mean they'll die?
They have wrinkles and grey hair!
I never used to worry
before those things were there.
Grampa said to look at him.
There were lots of wrinkles there,
and on his head, a snowstorm
was the color of his hair.
'Wrinkles only come to point
where smiles were, here and there.
It's your mommy's turn to get some
for the happy times you've shared.'
His white, and Daddy's grey hair
well, it was there to show
who had lived the longest time
so everyone could know!
Grampa said it's part of life.
We love, we learn, we live.
We earn grey hair and wrinkles,
they're prizes only God can give.

Dr's Waiting Room
Silver grey hair
wrinkles like hiways on a map
a floral pattern on her dress
must have been made in 1932
she sat waiting
Silver white hair
wrinkles like ditches by the roadway
white t-shirt, blue suspenders-no belt
tan slacks
he sat waiting, with her
She reached over
kissed his cheek
he held her hand...
in their ninety's....

Are our brains wrinkled?
Wrinkles are the measurement,
to show the life's management,
some are very near and deep,
and the rest long and steep.
Wrinkles are the asset,
that get through the experience,
not all those experienced,
never have such twinkles.
The wrinkles which can not be seen,
hidden inside the hard shell,
More the wrinkles formation,
More the knowledge dwell.
Let us see who has more fold.
Einstein or a research assistant,
people with more folds may not know it,
people with lesser folds strive to get it.
Do not let anyone,
to iron out the wrinkles,
with their disillusioned vision.
Let us acquire more in our brains.

Daddy Why?
Daddy why did you leave Mommy before I was born?
Daddy why weren't you there for my birth?
Daddy why did you divorce Mommy when I was only five months old?
Daddy why did you day those mean things about Mommy?
Daddy why weren't you there for my first birthday?
Daddy why weren't you there when I took my first step?
Daddy why weren't you there when I got hurt?
Daddy why weren't you there when I became a teenager?
Daddy you're not going to be there when I turn 16.
Daddy you're not going to be there when I graduate from high school.
Daddy you're not going to be there when I get married.
Daddy you're not going to be there when I have children of my own.
Daddy you're NEVER going to be here.
Daddy you had a choice.
Daddy I chose too.
Daddy I NEVER WANT TO BE LIKE YOU!

Ten Grey hairs and a silver one
I discovered my first grey hair
when I was Seventeen years old
It had to do with broken up my first relationship
I discovered my second grey hair
when I was Twenty years old
It had to do with the quarrels at home
I discovered my third grey hair
when I was Twenty-one years old
It had to do with searching for work
I discovered my fourth grey hair
when I was Twenty-three years old
It had to do with loosing my job
I discovered my fifth grey hair
when I was Twenty-five years old
It had to do with giving up my unborn child
I discovered my sixth grey hair
When I was Twenty-eight years old
It had to do with opening my pub
I discovered my seventh grey hair
When I was thirty years old
It had to do with giving birth to my daughter
I discovered my eight grey hair
When I was thirty –two years old
It had to do with the first day at the kinder garden school
I discovered my ninth grey hair
When I was thirty-four years old
It had to do with to find out that some thing was missing
I discovered my tenth grey hair
When I was thirty-five years old
It had to do with the fights between my sisters and mum
My one Silver hair I discovered lately
Has to do with you
Because I miss you so hard …

Going Grey
I woke up late this morning
And looked into the mirror
But the woman looking back at me
Had a grey streak in her hair
Where did this grey streak come from?
It wasn’t there last night
How did it get into my hair?
My god I looked a sight
I washed and I washed my hair 3 times
And washed my hair some more
But the grey it would not come out
And I was getting stressed for sure
I grabbed the phone to ring my friend
And said get your arse round here
I have a big problem that you need to fix
And bring all your hairdressing gear
Half an hour seemed like a life time
Before my friend was here
She said what’s all the fuss about
I sobbed and wept oh dear
I removed the towel from round my head
Well I didn’t want anyone to see
Look I’ve got greyness in my hair
And I’m only thirty three
She sat me down to have a look
And said don’t worry dear
We can soon cover all that up
With hair dye, so don’t fear
She put this dye upon my head
And then made me a brew
He had to wait for ages
Until the colour did come threw
So now I feel much better
And don’t need to get irate
I don’t have any grey streaks now
And my hair looks really great

Wrinkles
Gettin out of the tub all drawn up like a raisin
Showed my fingers to my daddy while he was shavin
Said look at my toes dad whats wrong with my skin
Will this go away, will I be normal again
Well he picked me up and set me down on the hamper
Wiped off his face while he gave me the answer
For the first time I noticed the lines in his grin
As he dabbed a little foam on the end of my chin, he said
Chorus
Those wrinkles aint nothin to be scared of
Theyre just a product of time and true love
Some are gonna come and go
Some are gonna come and stay
Son, youre still young, youre gonna be ok
Well, I walked down the hall, saw my mom gettin ready
For a long over due date, dinner with daddy
She was cussin those crows feet, didnt know I was listenin
Started talkin bout her younger years
And how much she missed them and I said
2nd chorus
Those wrinkles aint nothin to be scared of
Theyre just a product of time and true love
Some are gonna come and go
Some are gonna come and stay
Mom you still look young, youre gonna be ok
As I get a little older, Im startin to get a few
And Im sure I gave mom and dad at least one or two
Were all gonna have em, there aint no doubt
But those wrinkles in life aint nothin you cant iron out
3rd chorus
Those wrinkles aint nothin to be scared of
Theyre just a product of time and true love
Some are gonna come and go
Some are gonna come and stay
I still feel young, Im gonna be ok
Bridge
Those wrinkles aint nothin to be scared of
Theyre just a product of time and true love

The Silver Treasure
Blessings have depths but no measure
For the hearts benchmark the Silver Treasure
Gatherings of the life that ages earn
Gather on the head with a silvery turn
Children call'em white & learn they are grey
Sparkles of sunlight have smiles on every ray
Skin is like a bed dwelling in viscous oil
Hair we talk of coir wraped in a silver foil
Days which they lived are countless wrinkles
Eyes have fog in hopes & hope in them twinkles
Our breaths have such assets backed by these banks
For this silvery treasure, let us pay golden thanks
Thoughts of every new mile without bliss of the old
Is it possible to live without this treasure being told...

Wrinkles
For Naomi Lazard
Sometimes I can't wait until I look like Nadezhda Mandelstam.
-- Naomi Lazard
My friends are tired.
The ones who are married are tired
of being married.
The ones who are single are tired
of being single.
They look at their wrinkles.
The ones who are single attribute their wrinkles
to being single.
The ones who are married attribute their wrinkles
to being married.
They have very few wrinkles.
Even taken together,
they have very few wrinkles.
But I cannot persuade them
to look at their wrinkles
collectively.
& I cannot persuade them that being married
or being single
has nothing to do with wrinkles.
Each one sees a deep & bitter groove,
a San Andreas fault across her forehead.
"It is only a matter of time
before the earthquake."
They trade the names of plastic surgeons
like recipes.
My friends are tired.
The ones who have children are tired
of having children.
The ones who are childless are tired
of being childless.
They love their wrinkles.
If only their were deeper
they could hide.
Sometimes I think
(but do not dare to tell them)
that when the face is left alone to dig its grave,
the soul is grateful
& rolls in.

You Ask Me If I Change
you ask me if i change
i tell you, yes i always change
don't you notice it?
some hairs on my head
are whiter now, and some
have fallen without any
sound, my wrinkles move
and they beget wrinkles
my eyes fail, my hands
tremble, my feet dwindle,
my memory of names and
places are wanting of
particulars
i change. Everything in me
changes beside you and
how can you not notice it?
i know, we are too near
and we are always together
in this familiarity where
changes are everyday and
yes, how could we not notice
all these, my dear?
you are laughing, a lock
of your hair is falling too.

Reflection
Mirror, mirror on the wall,
Why do I look in you, at all,
For all I see is the same old me,
And not how I so want to be.
Mirror, mirror on the stairs,
Why do you show me many years,
A face with wrinkles everywhere,
Would anybody like my share.
Mirror, mirror near my bed,
In you I look with certain dread,
For creams and potions just don't work,
Behind them still the wrinkles lurk.
Mirror, mirror in the hall,
Seeing you makes me recall,
That I am now of senior age,
Well stuck into the wrinkles stage.
Mirror, mirror by the door,
How I hate you more and more,
I'm having to look the other way,
When my reflection's on display.

Embracing Age
Strainds of grey hair they dye
Behind youth they try to hide
In a bed of denial they lie
they look at age with false pride
It's hard to think that nowadays grey hair is rare
Let me tell you something I wish to share
From old age I won't hide
I will embrace it and show of my grey hair with pride

Celebrity (Fun Poem 135)
Imagine if I was a celebrity
with lots of photographers following me
and I laid on a private beach somewhere
to catch the sun in the buff.
Now just imagine what they'd see,
wrinkles from head to foot
and great big batch of grey hair,
balding in the middle.
I wonder what would happen
if they took a photograph of me?
The camera would have a fit
and the photo would be classed as pornographic.
Everyone would start to wonder
where the heck did that alien came from.
Alas, you can breathe again
and say thankfully under your breath
I am glad he is not a celebrity.
However, who knows
what tomorrow might just well bring.
I could win the lottery
and become an instant celebrity.

An aged Woman poses in front of a shattered mirror?
The rusty pincers she holds
With shivering fingers
And she plucks her grey hair
Here & there
She noticed in the eye brows too
few appears?
Dark rings below the eyes
And wrinkles on her forehead.
She smiles with the mirror
And mutters; 'No change at all the secret smile
But what happened to my youthful Elasticity? '
She realized for the first time in her life
That mirrors too speak sometimes?
'Madam! I am there with you
even in your fleeing beauty? '
*[God made woman from man's rib-not from his head to top him, nor from his feet to be walked upon, but from his side to be his partner in life, from under his arm to be protected by him, and near his heart to be loved by him.]

Mommy & Daddy
Ask your mommy and daddy, what happened to the indian?
How come theyre all living in places
With too much snow or too much sand?
Tell your mommy, I got a funny feeling deep inside of me
Ask your daddy, is it really as bad as people make it seem?
Wa ta tick it ta too too..
Ask your mommy why everybody swallows all those little pills
Ask your daddy why that soldier doesnt care who he kills
After theyve put you to sleep and tucked you safely down in your bed
Whisper, mommy and daddy would you rather that
I learned it from my friends, instead?
Do you think Im to young to know, to see, to feel, or hear
My questions need an answer or a vaccuum will appear
Dont be surprised if they turn and walk away
And tell your mommy and daddy that you love them anyway
That you love them anyway...
Give them a kiss
Love will set you free
Kings of emi
Mommy and daddy (alt.)
Ask your mommy and daddy, what happened to the indian?
Ask your mommy and daddy to tell you where you really came from
Then mommy and daddy will probably turn and quickly walk away
Then ask your mommy and daddy who really killed j.f.k
Wa ta tick it ta too too...
Ask your mommy if she really gets off on all her - all her pills
Ask your daddy, why doesnt that soldier care who he kills?
After theyve put you to sleep and tucked you safely down in your bed
Whisper mommy and daddy,
Would it matter if the bullet went through my head?
If it was my blood spilling on the kitchen floor
If it was my blood, mommy, would you care a little more?
Dont be surprised when they turn and start to cry
And tell your mommy and daddy, tell your mommy and daddy
Scream it to your mommy and daddy
Theyre living in a lie, a lie, a lie
Its all a lie, a lie, a lie
A lie, a lie...

What Children Worry About
Mommy
Mommy, mommy
what’s going on in the world today?
Mommy am I going to be OK?
I heard some kids were wearing bombs
and blowing people up..
Mommy their world is very far away.
They can’t come here, right mommy?
Am I going to be OK.

Daddy
Daddy, daddy
I asked mommy some questions yesterday,
and tears were in her eyes.
She’s really scared daddy,
I know the reason why.
The kids with bombs,
might be here in our schools.
They won’t listen to the rules.
Mommy is really scared that one day,
you’ll both have no choice but to send me away

Mommy, Daddy
Mommy, Daddy, there’s no reason to fear
I figured it out late last night.
I said the words for God to hear.
I know He knows all things
and will do what’s right,
sooo… we say the words for God to hear,
everyday and every night.
Guess what Mommy, Daddy
everything will be alright.
Mommy, why are you still crying? ? ?

My vanity
When you see the grey in my hair
will you remember the black that was there?
Or will you forget and just see grey
that forms at the roots on everyday?
I used to wear it long and flowing
and preen about how it was growing.
I used a hair brush and counted the strokes,
but that's a waste of time for older folks.
Vanity's been replaced by common sense
although I say in my defense
that if I could I'd still like to see
that shiny lustre of ebony.
Beauty is burdensome anyway
and eventually I'll accept being grey.
But not just yet, maybe next year.
Alas by then more grey will appear.

Wrinkles
Wrinkles in time
trite phrase yet true
where life creates chaos
it leaves wrinkles in you
Furrows in fields
we pass along the way
while navigating roads
we must travel each day
All leave their mark
both inside and out
as we strive to comprehend
what life really is about
Holes in the fabric of time and space
equate to the wearing that in living takes place
With fabric and lives the choices seem the same
We can deal with challenges or merely place the blame
So whether wrinkles we bear
Or holes we must mend
We have tools at hand
It’s our choice in the end

Daisies Bloom In Autumn's Wood
In my image I perceive
The young child of mystery
As the wind combs gentle my long hair
To innocence flows a care-free air
And time's changes clearly show
As the shadows cast their eerie glow
For rainbows are wrought by His hands
The Sandman's kiss has left it's sand
Wrinkles of cause as years will pass
The sand still sifts in the hourglass
For with joy I find reborn, a spring
And in my summer I smile and sing
For daisies bloom in Autumn's wood
My life is blessed with motherhood
As children run and climb their way
Innocence shines that gentle ray
I see myself in you again
The fairy-tales of youth refrain
Please spare the wrinkles and the mist
Again, I believe in the Sandman's kiss.

Want More Hair?
I'd love
I think
more hair
more hair
like a big
old grizzly bear
more hair makes
you manly
more hair
makes you tough
more hair feels
like carpet
more hair keeps
you rough
more hair
for pretty ladies
to rub their faces on
more hair for
guys to jealous of
and more locks that can
be flung
I think more hair would be awesome
but I wouldn't wanna overdo it
because too much hair would make
me like a little furry blanket
and I couldn't cover both of us
just you and that ain't fair
more hair!
