What I see?
Darkness would soon consume what I see, before that let me say
Let me express, let me sing, a fable, a ballad or a poem, let me say
What I see.
It is a scene of a battlefield and I am standing there,
I see an omen walking by, a white moon shining in red sky,
Shattered metals everywhere, of tanks and guns, all man had made
And many men are lying here, of bones and flesh, all god had made
This is a hell but I’m not dead, but dead are they who lie afore,
Forcing me to be their part, an unsought color of this picture.
It is a scene of a broken hut and I am standing there,
Its thatched roof is gone, now roofless how it stands,
Its door is open and a window broken, but I won’t peep inside,
There may be a life, a tender rose, a bud ready to bloom,
And beneath its various fleshes, many secrets may have it closed.
I dare not touch it and destroy, and do not steal that is not mine.
It is a scene of a dying man and I am standing there,
Powerless, drunk in weakness, the curse with which I am cursed,
His eyes seek, so many questions, of answers he’s a beggar,
I stand to him, as a prophet, who has his hands, a blessing.
Mercy is my magic, my kindness sleeps in water. But showers of blood that he has laid,
The soldier, my soldier, who fought for me and laid his life, will that, be ever paid?
This saddens me and maddens me, how foolish had I been,
Desperate of love, desperate of hope and desperate of any kindness,
I have left what I had left and lost what I had found.
It is a scene of a graveyard and I am lying there,
Bereft of a white lily or grass or tear or a tombstone,
No inscription do I have no story now to tell. And my fables are closed
In my coffin, like my eyes, my lips and ears, were always closed,
When I was alive.

The Dead Soldier
Where the sword has opened the way the man will follow
'Look! they came, the triumphant army!
Over yon hill see their weapons peeping!'
Still I spoke not but my wheel sent turning,
I closed my eyes for my heart was weeping,
My heart was weeping for a dead soldier.
Who is he who looks towards me?
''Tis no man but a gay flag flying.'
Red was his mouth and his white brow thoughtful,
Blue his eyes—how my soul is crying,
My soul is crying for a dead soldier.
'Kneel ye down, lest your eyes should dare them,
Kneel ye down and your beads be saying.'
'Lord, on their heads Thy wrath deliver,'
This is the prayer that my lips are praying,
My heart is praying for a dead soldier.
'Best cheer the path of the men victorious,
For he is dead and his blade lies broken,
His march is far where no aid can follow,
And for his people he left no token,
He left no token, the dead soldier.'
The way of the sword a man can follow,
See the young child with his gold hair gleaming.
When falls the oak must the acorn perish?
He lifts the blade and his eyes are dreaming,
He dreams the dream of the dead soldier.

Upon the Wall
The first picture is an old black and white of a young couple just started out their life. If you look close you can see all the hope in their eyes.
Next to that hangs a color picture of the same couple a few years older and a baby has been added to the picture, what joy upon their faces.
Now, the next picture is about seven years after that the couples hair has turned slightly grey and the child has grown, but their look of joy has turned to worry I wonder what problem has arose.
Now the next one is the once young child standing proudly in an arm forces' uniform ready to serve his nation.
Then there's the next picture it is a coffin with a flag draped upon it, and the old couple now standing and crying beside it.
I can only imagine that their child now lies in that coffin.
The final picture is similar to first except instead of black and white this has color, and instead of hope the old couple eyes are filled with despair from the harshness of life, and all they have left is the pictures upon the wall.
No Difference
i stared out the window
at the bare frozen limbs
of my favorite old tree...
i closed my eyes...
saw leaves bud forth
and turn green...
i opened my eyes...
knowing there was no difference.
i stared at the young girl
reading at a corner table
i closed my eyes...
and saw an old grandmother
washing dishes with her grandbabies
playing in the floor at her feet...
i opened my eyes...
knowing there was no difference.
i saw the young man
carrying his son on his shoulders
i closed my eyes...
and saw an old man standing
by his son's casket
draped by a flag...
i opened my eyes...
knowing there was no difference.
i saw an old man
standing on the corner begging
i closed my eyes...
i saw a young boy
playing ball in the street
laughing and dodging cars
i opened my eyes...
knowing there was no difference.
i saw a crack head shivering
by an electric heater in a bare apartment
i closed my eyes...
and saw a young a/g student
helping some kid with his math
i opened my eyes...
knowing there was no difference.
i saw a desperate girl
walking the streets
looking for a john
i closed my eyes...
and saw a young girl's room
stuffed animals on the bed
pictures of her and her daddy on the wall
i opened my eyes...
knowing there was no difference.
i saw a young man
wild-eyed with fear
in a prison cell
i closed my eyes...
i saw a young boy gone hunting
with his grandpa on thanksgiving morn
with his dog by his side
i opened my eyes...
knowing there was no difference.
i pulled back the veil of time...
knowing, there is no difference!

My Devil You Were
I keep telling myself that I don't need you
but you keep whispering in my ear telling me that I do
and I believe you
I believe everything you say
even though it was everything you said
I paint the picture of you on my white ceiling when I'm lying alone in my bed
I paint the picture of you on my white ceiling when I'm lying alone in my bed
Because no other girl has been here since you left
and for no other girl have I shead a tear, I'm all cried out I have none left
cause I know you love to think that you took them all
but they were gone long before
for you I didn't watch a single one fall, I was never alive I was already dead
I paint the picture of you on my white ceiling when I'm lying alone in my bed
I paint the picture of you on my white ceiling when I'm lying alone in my bed
and I paint it red
I paint it red
the colour of blood shows that it is already dead
I keep telling myself that I don't need you
but you keep whispering in my ear telling me that I do
and I believe you
I believe everything is red
even though it was everything you said
I paint the picture of you on my white ceiling when I'm lying alone in my bed
and it is all red
he paints it red
my picture of his horns it shows its now never dead.

Crocodile
Crocodile
No you wont make me jealous
That she left me for him
Scene one standing
Crushed on landing
You may have walked out
But Ill swallow up my fate
Scene two sitting
Man in kitchen
Bit cold and lifeless like
The burger on my plate
But theres one emotion Im afraid of
Hear him scratching gently to be fed
I cant stand it when he sits there smiling
I dont want him nesting in my head
Crocodile
No you wont make me jealous
That she left me for him
Get away
Crocodile
No you wont make me jealous
Im not letting you in
Scene three lying (through his backteeth)
Speared and dying (bitten beneath)
Ill crawl the wall to hand there
Skinned and stuffed with drink
But theres one emotion Im controlling
Green eyed monster with his jaws spread wide
(but hes your pet now
You cant run away and hide)
I cant stand it when he sits there crying
I dont want to throw myself inside
Crocodile
Getaway
(crocodile
With the jaded jealous smile)

Broken Soldier
Here stands a broken soldier
One that has fought for his life
One who has fought for your rights
One who has fought with no end
And has asked for nothing in return
Here stands a broken soldier
Much like any other
Just trying to make it through the day
Helping to keep a nation together
There is no wish for fame
No wish for glory
You may not even know his name
Still you know he is a hero
This broken soldier
Has seen his share
He has learned much more
Than what you will learn from books
He has face you each and every worst fear
He has met pain
And death was always a close friend
Knocking on his door
Waiting to be let in
But this soldier
Wasn't ready to give in
He may wonder a street
And pass you by
Yet he is still fighting by your side
And for your rights
He may seem unimportant
For he played such a small part in this huge parade
But in a war
When he is fighting
That small part becomes the parade
And helps a thousand times more than you'd think
This broken soldier knows the risks
He knows the possibility
And yet he fights
For your rights
For your Justice
And at your Liberty

Closed Door
sometimes we want to enter
a door
a closed door that does not open
no matter how hard we
knock
we try being courteous and gentle
and so patient
eating every waiting time
like we are the most foolish of all fools
knocking a closed door
seducing it more often with our
pleadings
begging and even compromising
for a dance
to convince the owner of the door to
open it
but no one hears, no one cares to listen
to our pleadings,
no one likes the dance of compromises
the door is still closed
and then the last crooked thing happens
we take the axe
and break the door which is closed
forcing it open
only to find that all the people there are dead
there is nothing inside
but mystery and
grief
an unsolved crime, no more
no less.

Of Haiti and Other Wars
Dark soldier at attention near the sea
A tear, like sudden blood,
Down sweat and flesh and the teeth of strangers
Through bullets and the barrels of loaded guns
Blood, like a frightened lizard
Through his window in the night,
A sky the colour of corbeaux
And tears that flow to a fretful, reckless sea
Dark soldier came here, a stranger, when the moon was low and
Mocking distance from this dry and shattered land
Lying beautiful and broken like first sex
Her smile the shape of an unfinished dream
He came here when the day was night and the night was blind
Planes the shape of vultures over scalded hills
Smoke the smell of scabs greets them as they arrive
He stands at attention near the sea and in his tears
Strangers presenting alms of food and cameras
Strangers from across the way
Strangers through his window in the night
Strangers from familiar lands
Dark soldier at attention near the sea
A castaway on broken ground
Bullets, blood and breakfast
She smiles at him, turns away and goes to sleep

Tin Heart
Twenty five soldier boys standing in a line
Twenty five army toys made out of tin
But the last one was broken
Unfinished
Missing a leg
And he stood the straightest
Of them all
His line stood straight
Eyes facing forward
But our one legged soldier
Looked toward the doll house
She was a ballerina
He was a soldier boy
And he loved her
At night the toys come out to play
But our steadfast little soldier
Just longed for the ballerina
Out popped the Jack-in-the-box
Who mocked and scoffed
Why would the beautiful ballerina
Pick a broken soldier?
Any fool could see that Jack wanted her too
But the soldier just ignored him
The next day came
And the little boy set the soldier on the windowsill
But by terrible luck
Or maybe it was Jack
The window blew open and down the steadfast little soldier fell
All the way down
Some boys picked him up and made a boat
Out of paper
And sent him sailing down the Thames
Our steadfast tin soldier stood steady at the wheel
But he wished for the ballerina to stay his trembling heart
Through rapids and down waterfalls
He tumbled
Still standing steadfast at the helm
But the boat was made of paper
And eventually the soggy bottom tore
And down little soldier fell
Once more
But at the bottom of the river
A big fish swallowed him whole
And the tin soldier was trapped in the darkness of a ribcage
For a long
Long
Time
Then mama cut open the fish she was cooking up for dinner
And there was our steadfast little toy
She just smiled and put him above the hearth
And he was happy to be home
For he could see the ballerina once more
But the Jack-in-the-box leered with anger
And maybe it was him
Or maybe just a stray gust of wind
But the soldier fell from the mantle
And into the flames
The wind caught the ballerina too and she joined him in the coals
And in the morning
When mama swept out the hearth
All that was left of the soldier and the ballerina's love
Was a heart
Made out of tin

The Scene
The Scene
(Graham Russell, Mark Towner Williams, Cliff Rehrig)
It's another lovely day
Are we still so far away
And how can I share it with you
It's not easy to believe
Are we both about to leave
Without ever saying, I do
I still love you
(Chorus)
Just make me part of the scene
Say we're together, always forever
And everything else in between
Just say we're part of the scene
I don't want to hear it, I just couldn't bear it
If things weren't as good as they seem
You can say I'm not the one
That a lot of faith has gone
The bridges were never quite crossed
Every grain of truth, we deny or prove
Is somewhere before it gets lost
And is found again
(Repeat Chorus)
What if these feelings are all in my head
Flying around me in a world of their own
What if there's nothing that needs to be said
(Repeat Chorus)
Just say we're part of the scene
Say we're together, always forever
And everything else in between
Just say we're part of the scene
Just say we're part of the scene
Just say we're part of the scene

Image
The girl in the mirror stared back at me.
Unflinching.
Eyes blood shot.
Cheeks stained with tears and sweat.
Her hands dangled weakly, swollen
and splattered with blood.
Matted hair sprung from her head and the black circles
made her eyes seem all the more sunken. Desperate.
She was small. Shriveled.
All hope sucked from her soul and left a scar
across her gray face like a tree branch
reaching for the sun but anchored by the abandoned
body of a young girl whose heart
had long ago stopped beating.
the fallen soldier of a country whose world
had fought against it. A country of Purity.
And this girl raised a cut and bruised arm
and lifted the mask from her face. Hesitantly.
The scars faded.
They left tiny white lines on my arms and face.
And my eyes cleared;
Hope glistening from them
and making my skin glow.
My hair curled softly.
My hands healed and were cleansed.
A slight pink stain rested on my fingers
My flesh was watered back to life.
And I smiled.
A weak, crooked sort of smile.
My teeth were not in their places
and a few were chipped,
but I loved the sight of that broken grin.

A Dark Chapter
Joy has been left for a reason
Order will blind me
Hand me the chance will I take it
And play the game
No need no guilt for tomorrow
Now counting down for
Ending this task shall I torment
Standing in grace
Gone I will find myself lost
And still reach the top
Yesterday was reality
Lord I will sacrifice life
Is this fear undisguised
Standing outside a fatal scene
Walking through mist and the shadows
Close to this crossroad
Choosing the way for a future
Lies in our hands
Move on don't stop nor give up
No time, no waiting
Sentenced to reach, be a dreamer
Now hear my calls
Gone I will find myself lost
And still reach the top
Yesterday was reality
Lord I will sacrifice life
Is this fear undisguised
Standing outside a fatal scene
Hope shall guide us forever
Grant me time for our answer
Patronized, fragile dreams must stay alive
Hope shall guide us forever
Grant me time for our answer
Patronized, fragile dreams must stay alive
Think what's beyond this darkness
Waiting for answers
I will believe in my future
Dreams lies within
Bring me joy, bring me freedom
Bring me some conscience
Leave me with strength and respect
Lead me through pain
Gone I will find myself lost
And still reach the top
Yesterday was reality
Lord I will sacrifice life
Is this fear undisguised
Standing outside a fatal scene
Nothing you say, will change things
Grief from within still teach me
All of my past, in vain
Dark turns to light, turns to night-time
Seduced by a life so far from here
Now desolates from within
Bring back the joy take me back again,
Away from deception and pain
I'm aware, alone we are facing the dark
Chow me the way, guide me in the storm,
Care for me bring me some light
I am awake, alone we're waiting the dark
I am awake, alone we're waiting
Hope shall guide us forever
Grant me time for our answer
Patronized, fragile dreams must stay alive

Rose is a bomb
People with wise always claim
Rose is a bomb
She causes things into ruin
Work and life
They fade away when she’s in bloom
When the silly tend to believe
Rose is God
Giving all when u feel lost
Sending hope when u are desperate
Oh, my rose inside…
Has been struggling for sprout
With passion, with desire
With his breath watering, his smile shining
Yet he was to be
a man with wise so someday he found
his wise and he claimed
Rose was bomb
Caused life into ruin
Work and future into ruin
Then, nothing left but cold wind
dry air, and silence dark
Then, my rose inside
Crying without sound
withering without a sign
Rose is God
Giving all when u feel lost
Sending hope when u are desperate
But, where is my rose again
Where is my rose again
Where is my silly boy
Peeping a window
Peeping a window
Part 1
From inside you peep out
from outside you peep in;
to see the desired scene
keeping you unseen.
Part 2
Me and my friend were peeping
Through the same window
Having heartful bliss getting
a glimpse of her or her shadow
He did not know my deed
I did not know his deed
One day we got exposed
later window was closed
For him I gave up my desire
for me he sacrificed his longing
Our first seed of love was buried
before growing to seedling.

Hurt And Destruction Of An Angel
An angel in disguise
hidden behind broken pride
of all these human lies
an angel without wings
long ago cut off
fallen from heaven
never to go back
an angel far from home
made to walk this world alone
an angel consumed by fears
as tears roll down her face
she feels like a disgrace
an angel wanting to go home
but caught in this hell
can only ask one thing
'God what did i do to deserve this,
why and i being punished all i did was love'
an angel lying dead
blood covers her pure white dress
god must have seen what he did for it rained non stop
an angel gone to hell
never to be scene again
her creator lost what he loved
cause he did not let her love

Soldier, Soldier
"Soldier, soldier come from the wars,
Why don't you march with my true love?"
"We're fresh from off the ship an' 'e's maybe give the slip,
An' you'd best go look for a new love."
New love! True love!
Best go look for a new love,
The dead they cannot rise, an' you'd better dry your eyes,
An' you'd best go look for a new love.
"Soldier, soldier come from the wars,
What did you see o' my true love?"
"I seed 'im serve the Queen in a suit o' rifle-green,
An' you'd best go look for a new love."
"Soldier, soldier come from the wars,
Did ye see no more o' my true love?"
"I seed 'im runnin' by when the shots begun to fly --
But you'd best go look for a new love."
"Soldier, soldier come from the wars,
Did aught take 'arm to my true love?"
"I couldn't see the fight, for the smoke it lay so white --
An' you'd best go look for a new love."
"Soldier, soldier come from the wars,
I'll up an' tend to my true love!"
"'E's lying on the dead with a bullet through 'is 'ead,
An' you'd best go look for a new love."
"Soldier, soldier come from the wars,
I'll down an' die with my true love!"
"The pit we dug'll 'ide 'im an' the twenty men beside 'im --
An' you'd best go look for a new love."
"Soldier, soldier come from the wars,
Do you bring no sign from my true love?"
"I bring a lock of 'air that 'e allus used to wear,
An' you'd best go look for a new love."
"Soldier, soldier come from the wars,
O then I know it's true I've lost my true love!"
"An' I tell you truth again -- when you've lost the feel o' pain
You'd best take me for your true love."
True love! New love!
Best take 'im for a new love,
The dead they cannot rise, an' you'd better dry your eyes,
An' you'd best take 'im for your true love.

Lily's Silent Tears
Each night Lily lay down her weary head
She pulled her pillow closer
Turned her face buried it deep as it soaked up all the silent tears
She cried, she begged,
She wished she hoped but most of all she closed her eyes and prayed
From the corners of her closed eyes a tear escaped….two… three….till she set them all free
Lily cried herself to sleep night after night
Crying over life and love lost
Time slipped by
High above in the heavens one night
There way up above you and I
Upon the brightest star
Sat he
Writing away his heart
He felt a tremor run through his heart
He heard a distant cry
He closed his eyes and there deep within the beauty of his loving heart He saw that tear
One silent solitary sad burning tear that bore so much pain
He closed his eyes and wished and willed
To see the owner of the tear
The silent tear that caused the tremor in his heart
He found Lily lying on her pillow crying herself to sleep
He reached out and touched her
Soothed her healed her loved her
Her days filled with warmth
Her nights filled with moonlight and love
Then one cold night he left a tremor in her heart
With unspoken word
He told her
He loved her
They were friends
But
He could never love her in the same way that she loved him
For his heart was already taken
Night after night once again Lily lays her head upon her faithful pillow
Night after night once gain she cries herself to sleep
Night after night once again she feels the tremor inside her heart
But
Night after night he feels the tremor of another
Shining In The Moonlight
I can feel the heat rising up inside of me
I can still remember how one touch baby feel
And thinking of that night
The light of the moon
The feeling never fades
It ended too soon
Standing in a broken dream
Calling on your fantasies
Looking for the magic land
In here eyes
Shining in the moonlight
Looking for love
Shining in the moonlight
Looking for you
Shining in the moonlight
But Im still alone
A victim of that night
For eternity
Drifting like a summer wind
A memory inside of me
Standing in the broken dream
Calling on your fantasies
Looking for a magic land
Tryin to find it in her eyes
Whoaaohh
Shining in the moonlight
Looking for love
Shining in the moonlight
Hungry for you
Shining in the moonlight
Shining in the moonlight
Shining in the moonlight
Shining in the moonlight
Shining in the moonlight

What You Find
There is discipline in A Soldier
you can see it when he walks,
There is honor in A Soldier
you hear it when he talks.
There is courage in A Soldier
you can see it in his eyes,
There is loyalty in A Soldier
that he will not compromise.
There is something in A Soldier
that makes him stand apart,
There is strength in A Soldier
that beats from his heart.
A Soldier isn't a title any man
can be hired to do,
A Soldier is the soul of that man
buried deep inside of you.
A Soldier's job isn't finished after
an 8 hour day or a 40 hour week,
A Soldier is always A Soldier
even while he sleeps.
A Soldier serves his country first
and his life is left behind,
A Soldier has to sacrifice what
comes first in a civilian's mind.
If you are civilian -
I am saying this to you.....
next time you see A Soldier
remember what they do.
A Soldier is the reason our land
is 'Home of the free',
A Soldier is the one that is brave
protecting you and me.
If you are A Soldier -
I am saying this to you.....
Thank God for EVERY SOLDIER
Thank God for what YOU do!
TY bohls
Soldier standing on the rain
I’m the soldier standing in the rain,
Being paid cold, being paid illness,
At hours of darkness I don’t knock out asleep,
On the daylight I fear booms booming within the ace of me,
Fearing I might die for nothing.
Back home is a land of milk and honey,
Back home is what I may perhaps call paradise,
Back home is they are joyful and amused,
Back home they relax to sleep,
Back home they don’t be bothered a propos my family,
But me I’m here in the rain for them.
Timorous I may bite the dust for nothing,
Afraid I may let my foes comfortable,
Apprehensive I may implant my blood for laughs,
Frightened I may not have a mission, I may be futile,
Nervous I may, because nobody knows I am
The soldier in the standing in the rain.
I’m kicking the dust for nothing,
I’m living for zilch,
For people who don’t worry for me,
For inhabitants who don’t know me,
For citizens who don’t want to know me,
For public who won’t even be at my funeral,
For nation who don’t know a soldier,
I timorous I’m already in dead; I’m living only with flesh,
I’m the soldier in the rain
The author is a soldier dying for nothing and attention!
