Streets Of Philadelphia
I was bruised and battered and I couldnt tell
What I felt
I was unrecognizable to myself
I saw my reflection in a window I didnt know
My own face
Oh brother are you gonna leave me
Wastinaway
On the streets of philadelphia
I walked the avenue till my legs felt like stone
I heard the voices of friends vanished and gone
At night I could hear the blood in my veins
Black and whispering as the rain
On the streets of philadelphia
Aint no angel gonna greet me
Its just you and I my friend
My clothes dont fit me no more
I walked a thousand miles
Just to slip the skin
The night has fallen, Im lyinawake
I can feel myself fading away
So receive me brother with your faithless kiss
Or will we leave each other alone like this
On the streets of philadelphia

Takin It To The Streets

You dont know me but Im your brother
I was raised here in this living hell
You dont know my kind in your world
Fairly soon the time will tell
You, telling me the things youre gonna do for me
I aint blind and I dont like what I think I see
Takin it to the streets
Takin it to the streets
Takin it to the streets
Takin it to the streets
Take this message to my brother
You will find him everywhere
Wherever people live together
Tied in povertys despair
You, telling me the things youre gonna do for me

Philadelphia Revised
The sad images of Philadelphia popped out of my eyes today
And I could see the streets of Philadelphia where the homeless sleeps
And freeze to death
While Politicians, doctors, Dentists, lawyers, teachers, and nurses get rich
Day by day
But the homeless freeze to death in the streets of Philadelphia and even die
But I have to ask all of you fellow americans where is your heart?
And doesn't charity starts at home first?
Don't you have anything at home that you could give away to the Homeless so they could have something either to wear or to eat?
Why can't we feed the homeless?
I can't understand you fellow Americans?
Please put yourself in their shoes for a day and try to picture what do they Have to go throw everyday
Is it right for the homeless to sleep in the streets and freeze and eventualy Die in the streets of Philadelphia?
Would you fellow Americans go few days without eating?
I don't think so
Why should the homeless that lives in the streets of Philadelphia starve?
Fellow Americans it is time to think about others and not just yourself Because others live In America just like you
Fellow Americans do you have a heart?
Fellow Americans did you ever learned to share what you have with Others?
Fellow Americans America is a sad world because we waste 98% of our Food at home, restaurants, and supermarkets
And all that wasted food ends up in the dump
It is so ashame and so sad at the same time
But the truth is that we are running out of food
And there is not enough food to feed anyone in America
But the cost of food keeps going up
Because we have to pay the American farmers who plants the food and Transport the food to the supermarkets

I leave my heart with you
I met a friend
She dreams
about the summer
The flowers are on the table
Soon,
she’ll sing,
like Luciano Pavarotti
Without an audience
Her finial
Would be filled
With dithyramb.........
And phylactery

Last Time I Saw Her
The last time I saw her face, her eyes were bathed in starlight and her
hair hung long
The last time she spoke to me, her lips were like the scented flowers
inside a rain-drenched forest
But that was so long ago that I can scarcely feel the way I felt before
And if time could heal the wounds, I would tear the threads away that I
might bleed some more
The last time I walked with her
Her laughter was the steeple bells
That ring to greet the morning sun
A voice that called to everyone
To love the ground she walked upon
Those were good day
The last time I held her hand, her touch was autumn, spring and summer,
and winter too
The last time I let go of her, she walked a way into the night
I lost her in the misty streets, a thousand months, a thousand miles
When other lips will kiss her eyes
A million miles beyond the moon, that's where she is
But that was so long ago that I can scarcely feel the way I felt before
And if time could heal the wounds, I would tear the threads away that I
might bleed some more
The last time I saw her face, her eyes were bathed in starlight and she
walked alone
The last time she kissed my cheek
Her lips were like the wilted leaves
Upon the autumn covered hills
Resting on the frozen ground
The seeds of love lie cold and still
Beneath a battered marking stone
It lies forgotten

I think we need to start with Philadelphia and make sure that we actually get some election reform in Philadelphia. Actually, a recent election was thrown out by a federal judge because of corruption with the voting process in Philadelphia.

Fall In Philadelphia
Theres a thunder storm a brewin
And the day is turning gray
There aint much to say about the weather
The shower stall is leakin
And the ceilings fallin in
And Im getting twenty bills to every letter
Ive got to move myself out to the country
Im lookin out for any place at all
Im gonna spend another fall in philadelphia
A roving band of youths beat up on johnny
Everybodys gettin richer sellin that dope
Say, the stolen bikes are gathering by the thousands
Along with seven million people without a hope
I guess I have to face the fact as real
I think I feel my back up against the wall
Im gonna spend another fall in philadelphia

Philadelphia Freedom
I used to be a rolling stone
You know if the cause was right
Id leave to find the answer on the road
I used to be a heart beating for someone
But the times have changed
The less I say the more my work gets done
cause I live and breathe this philadelphia freedom
From the day that I was born Ive waved the flag
Philadelphia freedom took me knee-high to a man
Yeah gave me peace of mind my daddy never had
Oh philadelphia freedom shine on me, I love you
Shine a light through the eyes of the ones left behind
Shine a light shine a light
Shine a light wont you shine a light
Philadelphia freedom I love you, yes I do
If you choose to you can live your life alone
Some people choose the city
Some others choose the good old family home
I like living easy without family ties
Till the whippoorwill of freedom zapped me
Right between the eyes

Brother To Brother
Brother to brother, heart to heart
Theres something Ive been trying to tell you
No matter where you are
From cradle to shining star
Youre someone to look up to
Brother to brother worlds apart
One day Ill promise Ill be with you
Always Ill love you
Now just a memory
A lifetime of rivalry
I couldnt have a better friend than you
I used to criticize the way you used to be
The child that had the look that dreams are made of
A window to the past looks onto everything I see
The fire went out the flame just dies
I couldnt have a better friend than you
Brother to brother, when we meet again
Therell be no differences between us
Free from the darkest night, free till we see the light
Burning ever after
Time is a healer, calming our fears
A thousand questions left unanswered
Oh I believe in you
Brother of mine
Have you ever had somebody you were close to
Become a memory thats larger than life
Have you ever felt theres beauty in distortion
If faiths a crime give me a clue
And if it is then brother its still you

City Streets
The gaudy glow of neon lights
dispels the darkness of the nights
on city streets.
They pop and fizzle noisily
creating a cacophony
on city streets.
The sober folks walk warily
and drunks stagger uncaringly
on city streets.
The ladies of the night parade
for there is money to be made
on city streets.
Drug dealers ready to retreat
if they should hear a coppers feet
on city streets.
The night shift workers wend their way
towards their work to start their day
on city streets.
The noisy revellers thin out
as one by one the signs go out
on city streets.
The gradually noises abate
and ghostly shadow congregate
on city streets.
For some few hours peace will reign
before the noise will start again
on city streets.
The early morning traffic sounds
start with the milkmen on their rounds
on city streets.
This builds up to an angry roar
as cars and lorries inward pour
on city streets
then when at last rush hour has passed
noise levels will subside at last
on city streets
I thank the lord that I am free
to leave this noise far behind me
on city streets.
I walked my beat the whole night
through exactly as I’m paid to do
on city streets.
I choose to live outside the town
where constant noise won’t get me down
on city streets.
My village is a quiet place
A haven where I need not face
the noisy streets.

I Dont Ever Want Her To Feel That Way Again
Said some things,didnt mean
In my anger
Went too far,she walked out
I dont blame her
And I felt so ashamed
cause Id hurt my best friend
Couldnt take back the pain
And I dont ever want her to feel that way again
I wish I could go back
And erase it
Cant make words disappear
Have to face it
That she dont look at me
Like she did before then
And what I made her feel
I dont ever want her to feel that way again
When she looks at me theres nothing that I want to see
But love in her eyes
Never want to see that how could you do this to me pain
She cant hide
Theres no doubt she knows how
Much I love her
I believe she still needs
The way we were
I just hope that she knows
That I didnt intend
To leave her feeling cold
And I dont ever want her to feel that way again

Maggies Farm
I aint gonna work on maggies farm no more.
No, I aint gonna work on maggies farm no more
Well, I wake up in the morning
Fold my hands and pray for rain.
I got a head full of ideas
That are drivin me insane
Its a shame
The way she makes me
Scrub the floor
I aint gonna work on, nah
I aint gonna work on maggies farm no more.
I aint gonna work for maggies brother no more
Nah, I aint gonna work for maggies brother no more
Well, he hands you a nickel
And he hands you a dime
And he asks you with a grin
If youre havin a good time
Then he fines you every time you slam the door
I aint gonna work for, nah
I aint gonna work for maggies brother no more
I aint gonna work for maggies pa no more
No, I aint gonna work for maggies pa no more
Well, he puts his cigar
Out in your face just for kicks
His bedroom window
It is made out of bricks
The national guard stands around his door
I aint gonna work, nah
I aint gonna work for maggies pa no more
I aint gonna work for maggies ma no more
No, I aint gonna work for maggies ma no more
Well, she talks to all the servants
About man and God and law
And everybody says
Shes the brains behind pa
Shes sixty-eight, but she says shes twenty-four
I aint gonna work for, nah
I aint gonna work for maggies ma no more
I aint gonna work on maggies farm no more
No, I aint gonna work on maggies farm no more
Well I try my best
To be just like I am
But everybody wants you
To be just like them
They sing while they slave and just get bored
I aint gonna work on, nah
I aint gonna work on maggies farm no more

Brother Where You Bound
Theres a red cloud hanging over us
And its so big and its gonna burst
All you people with your heads in the ground
Hey brother, where you bound?
And theyre no good and theyre everywhere
Try to tell you, but you just dont care
Try to hear you but you dont make a sound
Hey brother, where you bound?
Hey brother, where you bound?
And you dont know what theyre gonna do
And you dont know how they feel
And you dont know what theyre tellin you
Is it a lie or is it real
And the next thing that you know is
That they walk out on the deal
And the message that theyre giving you
Is the same old alibi
If you dont quite see their point of view
Then they treat you like a spy
And the phone rings and you disappear
In the middle of the night
Cant you see theyre on the move
Dont know what youre trying to prove
But you sit there oh so cool
Like they never broke no rules
And the cat flies and the crow walks
And the ghost dies and the sow talks
And they tell us that theyll be good as gold
Blieve nothing that youre told
Hey brother, wheres your soul?
Make a move in one direction
Try to make some compromise
But they greet you with rejection
Makin out youre tellin lies
Then they turn around and tell you
Better get down from the sky
For the sake of all thats holy
Listen good to what I say
I can feel them all around me
They could be here any day
But you act like you dont know me
Why d you look at me that way
If theres one thing that is clear
We gotta get away from here
Weve gotta leave this place
Its just a hopeless case
Aint no one else to blame
Were gonna lose this game
Hey brother get off my back
I gotta tell you, youre way off the track
They got a hatred deep down inside
Aint gonna let them take me alive
Im gonna burn them down, just wait and see
Aint gonna let them walk over me
Boy you aint got no heart and soul
And your mind is weak and your bloods runnin cold
You better move, you better hide
Theyre gettin in, theyre gettin inside
If you get caught you better know
Theyre gonna reap, youre gonna sow
Dont be a fool, we gotta go
Aint no place safe for us to stay
We better move on, we better move on

The Streets Are Quiet Now
The streets are quiet now.
The wind is howling
Across the streets at night
Whilst children sleep at night.
The streetlights shine
Through the curtain sat night
And the sky so black you can see the stars.
Looking like diamonds
Shining bright in the night.
The streets are quiet now
How strange it seems at night
Now a sound to be heard till morning breaks
Outside at night

If I Were You
(words & music by nelson)
The sandman comes to my house late each night
But its way in the morning before he turns out my life
Its times like this my darling I can see
If I were you Id know that I love me
The great snowman Ive been called by all
But it looks like this time Im gonna fall
Its times like this my darling I can see
Oooh if I were you Id know that I love me
Wind and rain and storm closin in on me
Ive walked the streets alone with my self sympathy
Can you hear me saying hopefully
Oooh if I were you Id know that I love me
Wind and rain and storm closin in on me
Ive walked the streets alone with my self sympathy
Can you hear me saying hopefully
If I were you Id know that I love me
Oooh if I were you Id know that I love me
If I were you Id know that I love me
