Trout
High mountains
cold and dark against night
Shuffling feet
along heavy planks of pier
Pulling ropes of bow and stern
Tiny boat undulating
to currents of moon-lit waters
Fishing tackle stowed
poles boxes bait
livelings wriggling in sawdust
cheese balls in oil
and dancing metal lures
to sparkle feint and run
Casting off by oar
Pulling at the tiny motor
Rope and crank rope and crank
Choke and rope
Chug sputter chug adjust
sputter whirr
Clanking of metal against metal
Cutting straight toward the deep
into the quiet
A muffled skimming
Waves slapping prow
Ball caps life preservers
coffee soft drinks sandwiches
They are off for the game
of fishing
before sun rising
to dropp enticers into deep
running spinners in shallows
They play the game
of reading trout
father and son
and being quite possibly
as close as they
can ever be

Heavy Metal Hamsters
There are some fellows soft and mellow
Sitting in the field and play like hell
No one knows the way it goes
But all the songs they play they sound so well
Tonight we go to see the heavy metal hamsters
It must feel nice to be a heavy metal hamster
Nothing sets you free like our heavy metal hamsters
A 20th century fox came by
A gold tipped cigarette high in his jaws
Contracts, pds, nose-bags, tv-shows
And everything with no remorse
Things are settled now for our heavy metal hamsters
Fame up to your brows, oh heavy metal hamster
A previously unknown lifestyle heavy metal hamster
The sweet taste of success is strong
And everything inside goes wrong you see
With coloured furs, sunglasses
Tons of nuts to eat, they dont feel free
What is wrong with our heavy metal hamster?
Look what they have done our heavy metal hamsters
Where is the field to run for our heavy metal hamsters
Some things are left undone for our heavy metal hamsters

Friend-Ship
My friendship is sinking,
I'm bailing out water as fast as I can,
Move too quickly the boat will tip over,
Move too slowly the faster it will sink,
Seconds away from abandoning ship,
But there's land in sight,
So close to shore,
Tying a rope to the boat,
Jumping into the water,
The water is so cold,
Pulling the boat to shore,
Moving too slowly,
Waves threatening to take the boat away,
Waves threatening to take me away,
Suddenly the shore seems so far away,
Waves fill the boat with water,
The burden of the weight of the water,
Becomes unbearable,
The rope is pulled out of my hands,
And the boat sinks,
Pulling me under,
I swim to the surface,
Swim to shore,
Once on shore I look back,
There is nothing left of the Friend-ship

Cold Metal
Pop
Uh
I played tag in the auto graveyard
I looked up at the radio tower
Rag tent by the railroad tracks
Concrete poured over steel bridge
Pondered my fate
While they built the interstate
Im a product of america
From the morgue to the prisons
Cold metal, when I start my band
Cold metal, in my garbage can
Cold metal, gets in my blood
And my attitude
Yeah, a huh
Threw my hide in an automobile
Heard a song called drive the wheel
Truckers, trailers, tractors caught me workin
This is the song of my heritage
From the bad to the buddha
Cold metal, thats what it be
Cold metal, from sea to sea
Cold metal, its how we win
And also how we sin
How we sin, how we sin, how we sin, how we sin
Cold metal, in the afternoon
Sounds lovely like a hendrix tune
Cold metal, its the father of beat
The mother of the street
Cold metal, it rolls on by
Cold metal, gonna raise it high
Cold metal, itll even fly
Rust buckets in the sky
Cold metal, got to be
Skeleton of the free
Cold metal, its gotta be
Better save a tree
Save a tree, save a tree, save a tree, save a tree
Yeah

Tight Rope
Verse 1
There's so much I want to share
For so long I've been too scared
To show the way I feel for you
But I know what I have to do
So I'm just gonna say it, (say it)
Love is like a game
And I'm gonna play it, (play it)
I hope you feel the same
Chorus
I'm in, so deep
Can't think and I can't sleep
I'm high upon a tight rope and it always leads to you
These days, I find, you're always on my mind
I'm high upon a tight rope and I've got to get to you
Verse 2
Wonna take you by the hand
When we touch you'll understand
That there's a love I can't deny
And it's too much to keep inside
So I'm just gonna say it, (say it)
Love is like a game
And I'm gonna play it, (play it)
I hope you feel the same
Chorus
I'm in, so deep, can't think and I cant sleep
I'm high upon a tight rope and it always leads to you
These days, I find, you're always on my mind
I'm high upon a tight rope and I've got to get to you

Is made for you and I

Metal Militia
Thunder and lightning the gods take revenge
Senseless destruction
Victems of fury are cowardly now
Running for safety
Stabbing the harlot to pay for her sins
Leaving the virgin
Suicide running as if it were free
Ripping and tearing
On through the mist and the madness
We are trying to get the message to you
Metal Militia
Metal Militia
Metal Militia
Chained and shadowed to be left behind
nine and one thousand
Metal militia for your sacrifice
iron clad soldiers
Join or be conquered the law of the land
What will befall you
The metalization of your inner soul
twisting and turning
On through the mist and the madness
We are trying to get the message to you
Metal Militia
Metal Militia
Metal Militia
We are as one as we all are the same
fighting for one cause
Leather and metal are our uniforms
protecting what we are
Joining together to take on the world
with our heavy metal
Spreading the message to everyone here
Come let yourself go
On through the mist and the madness
We are trying to get the message to you

Heavy Metal Universe
We're the masters of the wind
We're demons left in howl
we're the undefeated warriors
we have heard the call
We're the keepers and the leaders
of the only thing we love
we're the saviours
and protectors from above
In your sky there is no limit
and masters we have none
heavy metal is the only one
'cause its heavy metal universe
an it's never going down
flying 'cross the universe
we're heavy metal bound
we're heavy metal bound
With a burning hot desire
like a supersonic blast
we have come to show the world
that we have come to last
There ain't no way to stop us
and you'll never kill our pride
'cause it's not only music
it's a chosen way of life
And our world has got no borders
and in union we all stand
'cause heavy metal is our promissed land
'cause it's a heavy metal universe
with a heavy metal sound
masters of the thunder
shake you to the ground
It's a heavy metal bomber
and it's never going down
flying 'cross the universe
we're heavy metal bound
we're heavy metal bound
See my hands held to the sky
let me rock you 'till forever
raise your voice we're soaring high
swear allegance now or never
burning up we build a flame
as we speak the oath togheter
metal is our way forever...
... way forevermore
And our world has got no borders
and in union we all stand
'cause heavy metal is our promissed land
'cause it's a heavy metal universe
with a heavy metal sound
masters of the thunder
shake you to the ground
it's a heavy metal bomber
and it's never going down

we're heavy metal bound
we're heavy metal bound

Novacaine For The Soul
Life is hard
And so am I
You'd better give me something
So I don't die
Novocaine for the soul
Before I sputter out
Before I sputter out
Life is white
And I am black
Jesus and his lawyer
Are coming back
Oh my darling
Will you be here
Before I sputter out
Before I sputter out
Before I sputter out
Guess who's living here with the great undead
This paint by numbers life is f***ing with my head, once again
Life is good
And I feel great
Cuz mother says I was
A great mistake
Novocaine for the soul
You'd better give me something to fill the hole
Before I sputter out
Before I sputter out
Before I sputter out
Before I sputter out

The Cult Of Ray
What is there to say ?
Still I can't be silent
Hear the cult of ray
And you'll be enlightened
People, they're no fun
I saw raymond speak one time, he said hello
And as he opened up my mind, so fried and battered
I heard his words so very fine so high above this constant dripping chatter
Young sharks feeding on the scrapple
And upstarts feeding on your adam's apple
And you can't hear yourself in all this babble
And are you feeling role strain
Melting rock into metal
Melting rock into metal
Melting rock into metal again ?
In a dark place
In the deep sky
Is an old man
Is an old man
In a coffee can
And he's waiting
In the old rain
In the dep sky
And he's waiting
Hear the cult of ray
Fear the boy as tyrant
People have a way
When their mood is violent
People, they're no fun
I have a century in mind, wait, oh no
At least two centuries in mind, say, it doesn't matter
This rock is turning into sand while we are drowning here in our own shatter
You can't eat dirt cause it tastes so awful
Like no sugar in your turkish coffee
And can't smile cause I got me a mouthful
And i've been grinding this grain
Melting rock into metal
Melting rock into metal
Melting rock into metal again
In a dark place
In the deep water
Is an old man
In a coffee can
And he's waiting
In the old rain

The Gods Made Heavy Metal
In the beginning there was silence and darkness
All across the earth
Then came the wind and a hole in the sky
Thunder and lightning came crashing down
Hit the earth and split the ground
Fire burned high in the sky
From down below fire melted the stone
The ground shook and started to pound
The gods made heavy metal and they saw that is was good
They said to play it louder than Hell
We promised that we would
When losers say it's over with you know that it's a lie
The gods made heavy metal and it's never gonna die
We are the true believers
It's our turn to show the world
In the fire of heavy metal we were burned
It's more than our religion it's the only way to live
But the enemies of metal we can't forgive
Cause we believe in the power and the might
And the gods who made metal are with us tonight
The gods made heavy metal and they saw that is was good
They said to play it louder than Hell
We promised that we would
When losers say it's over with you know that it's a lie
The gods made heavy metal and it's never gonna die
We believe in the power and the might
And the gods who made metal are with us tonight
We're here tonight for heavy metal are you ready in the hall
They have chosen us and we have heard the call
Gonna tear the roof off with our sound
Crack the walls and shake the ground
Fight tonight for metal one and all
Cause we believe in the power and the might
And the gods who made metal are with us tonight
The gods made heavy metal and they saw that is was good
They said to play it louder than Hell
We promised that we would
When losers say it's over with you know that it's a lie
The gods made heavy metal and it's never gonna die

Metal Magic
When they say dont look back
Do what they say
You gotta look ahead
To a better day
In a world of metal magic
You need a break
Go forth
Take a chance
Make no mistake
Metal magic
Metal magic
Metal magic
Metal magic
They say you cant go back
Oh so true
When youre a rocker baby
You gotta pay your dues
In a world of metal magic
Magic never ends
Sometimes you lose
And sometimes you win
Metal magic
Metal magic
Metal magic
Metal magic
Lost in the metal magic
It never ends
Sometimes you lose
Sometimes you win
Metal magic
Metal magic
Metal magic
Yeah

Metal Warriors
Every one of us has heard the call
Brothers of True Metal proud and standing tall
We know the power within us has brought us to this hall
there's magic in the metal there's magic is us all
Heavy metal or no metal at all whimps and posers leave the hall
Heavy metal or no metal at all whimps and posers go on get out
Leave the hall
Now the world must listen to our decree
We don't turn down for anyone we do just what we please
got to make it louder

Our Metal Beast
Down the road we talk and laugh,
In the metal beast that gives us a ride,
Who knows if it is willing,
And who would really care.
Who ever thought we could ruin,
the life of that which gives it back,
the metal beast are everywhere,
Large ones that seem to carry,
Fifty or more on their tracks.
Or the small ones no more than five or six,
they can carry,
These metal beast,
we never question,
these metal beast that spew out death,
in a smokey and floating form.
Our metal beast,
that we learn to love,
Our metal beast are everywhere,
polished and primed,
or rusty and old,
Our metal beast that we hold onto,
that we love,
Or take for granted.
Our metal beast,
spew out death to our home.

Illusion and ignorance
To mistake a rope for a snake
Or to mistake a snake for a rope
Is illusion in perception.
To take a rope for rope and
A snake for snake is knowledge.
To take a rope not for a rope
And a snake not for a snake
Is ignorance. We employ
All the three at variant times
At different degrees in life.

Jumping Rope
We are jumping rope together
we are jumping rope together
unwinding naughty knots of tether
we are jumping rope together
We are jumping rope together
we are skipping beats together
pouting panting chasing chants
unraveling rigid wraps to sever
We are jumping rope together
we are jumping rope together
jointly jogging jagged breath
suddenly we
sneeze!

Metal Invaders
Fool moon standing in the streets
I know the time is near
Incarnate power roaring from the sky
Unrelenting forces blasting through the air
Roaring thunder lift your hands and pray
Running through the empty streets theyre looking for the fight
Swords gleam in the light of moon the gods prepare to strike
Chorus metal invaders, ready to strike
A warning from hell, be careful tonight
Dark night overwhelming bright light
See the demons fly
Cant trust your senses fear youll have to die
Super mighty shadows casting amplitudes to ears
Sounds youve never heard that take you high
Time has come for them to rise, invasion is their doom
Riding high on iron horses in the light of moon
Chorus metal invaders, the gods on their ride
Sworn to bring metal, mayhem tonight

But, I Can't Stop Fishing! ! !
But, I can't stop fishing,
I told my new wife.
It's an integral part,
Of all young men's lifes.
But she laid down the law,
It was fishing or her.
Get rid of the tackle,
The rods and the lures.
She wanted no part,
Of those smelly fish.
To tell you the truth,
She was really a...pain.
Well I don't know what happened,
But after a while,
She just let it go,
Like a bright eyed little child.
And I took her fishing,
For the first time in her life.
And she caught more than me,
My wonderful new wife.
It's close to forty years now,
And she never stays home.
She says it's not right,
That I go fishing alone.

Chug All Night
You scare me a bit,
But thats all right
You know when I want you
Most every night
And Ive been meaning to tell
You baby that it makes no sense
Still Im finally convinced
Yeah yeah
I believe we could chug all night
I believe we could hug all night
The band is loose and the groove
Is right youre so much woman i
Believe we could chug all night
On the day that I die, well
I just might scream
If Im alive in the morning
Ill be alive in a dream
You better listen to me baby
Cause you know that Im hung on you
Till Im blind and black and blue
No one else will do
I do believe we chug all night
I believe we could hug all night
The band is loose and the groove is right
Youre so much woman I believe
We could chug all night
No woman ever do what you do
High on a pleasure wheel
No devil ever cast a voodoo
So long and dark and real
Were gonna do a little chugging
Were gonna do a little hugging
The band is loose and the groove is right
Im wired for sound
Are you wired for light?
And youre so much woman,
I believe we could chug all night
I said a yeah yeah yeah
Yeah yeah
Woo! its only midnight baby
Come on and do it to me

I'm Content With Losing
Like I said
Leave your baggage at the back door
I'm leaving you the way I think it should be
We're always pulling into places that we can't back out of
Starting fights we can't talk our way out of them
How does it feel to be on the recieving end of this one?
I'm half way there and it's all on me
This is what I get for wanting more
This is the way it has to be
Dancing on all these changes
So I walk around with this rope in my hand
So I'll tie it around and around
I'll tie me down
I'll fantasize of being manic
And leaving us behind
In your eyes you were the one that tried
Acceptance is what holds us here
And you my dear are the one I fear tonight
We'll try just one more time
This is the moment that we all live for
Are you ready?
I'm half way there and it's all on me
This is what I get for wanting more
This is the way it has to be
Dancing on all these changes
So I walk around with this rope in my hand
So I'll tie it around and around
I'll tie me down
You can't see past my waving hands
Just running away again
You think so loud it hurts my ears...
I want to know how to get through this
Without choking up
I can't feel you
You're so far from me
I'm half way there and it's all on me
