tourism ***** JOSE RIZAL STANDING AT DAPITAN

tribute poem to the
Philippine national hero
Dr. Jose P. Rizal as exiled here
in Dapitan by the Spanish colonizers
before he was firing- squad- to -death
in Luneta, Manila 1898

Long before I heard
this historic place
even before I took up
civic and culture elementary
grade school subject

I visit here not for
educational tour
riding bus for hire
by a whole institutions
pressured by mentors
against consent by some parents
who never value about history

I am here to see
the ruins of Spanish era
the national hero's way of life
art of living
his bamboo shelter, clinic
mini- children school
kitchenette
and believe me
there is no single nail attaching
and connecting the shack
maybe Chinese hardware
at that time wasn't accessible yet

It is a self-intriguing tour
educating oneself
while matching Rizal's height
with mine
ranging 5' to 5' 3''
thru his life size statue
a rain or shine relic hero

I am strolling inside and out

irony but facts

my feet rooted near the lips
of his wishing well
near Zoro type

i am wishing
i would be a modern hero
a hero of my own

A Hero?

Her hero is pretty and thin
Her hero is a hero to many
A hero of fame and a hero of fortune
A role model, a hero of glamour
Her hero is a hero to many

His hero is fit and fast
His hero is a hero to many
A hero of sport, a hero of games
A role model, a hero of victory
His hero is a hero to many

Her hero is clever yet plane
Her hero is a hero to few
A hero of science, a hero of logic
A role model, a hero of knowledge
Her hero is a hero to few

His hero is a hero of art but he is poor
His hero is a hero to few
A hero of word a hero of writings
A role model, a hero of language
His hero is a hero to few

But that’s the thing with your heros....
Hero worship is only skin deep.

To be Hero

A hero is some one looked upto
Who others may love to be
A hero never loss hope
To be hero means to be courageous
And willing to put their life aside for another person
A hero is anybody or somebody that was loved
To be hero, must be successful
To be hero, may not be superhuman but must saved
If they say i'm to be hero
Hero must lead by sample because everyman is hero

When A Hero Comes

When a hero comes
There'll be no more fear
When our hero comes
No longer will we shed tears

When that hero comes
They'll pave the way
To a brighter and better day
When a hero comes

When our hero arrives
Evil better beware
You better be prepared
Cause the bullets will rip through the air
When a hero comes

Now you better get ready
Cause its starting soon
And our hero will arrive at high noon

Cause when our hero comes
You better listen to what I say
Or you'll forfeit your life today
And now our hero comes

And now here he comes
To end all of our pain
And now that he's come
He'll clear away the stain
Cause our hero's come

And as the bullets fly
We will hear them cry
And finally the evil will die
Cause our hero came

What Is A Hero

A hero is a Dad,
who carries your heart onto his with his unconditional love.

A hero is a Dad,
who builds your first pair of wings to enable you to fly on your own.

A hero is a Dad,
who builds your faith when all hope tumbles out from your heart.

A hero is a Dad,
who builds you a magical ladder to keep you high off the ground.

A hero is a Dad,
who builds your confidence so you make it through the wind and rain.

A hero is a Dad,
who builds your strength beyond his own when your life with pain collides.

A hero is a Dad,
who knows when he must step aside when another hero has come to carry your heart onto his.

A hero is a Dad,
who builds his strength of having to let go when walking his little girl down the aisle to place her heart onto the heart of another hero.

My one and only hero

My hero is the best
He is better than all the rest
My hero doesn’t like to admit
That he is my hero when he dose his little bit

My hero has love and respect
Even he is my prime subject
My hero is always on my mind
Even though he is smart and kind
My hero has a special name
But I can’t tell you it cause it would put him in shame

My hero loves to pull a trick
He is not smart no is he very thick?
My hero makes me smile even though I feel crying
He says 'I will always love you even though I am dyeing'

A simple child of ignorance

Have I known war that dwell in the fields?
Have I known war with all it’s bloodshed?
Have I known war with the guns and cannons?
Have I known war of the Philippines?

Social Studies, what of your use?
Heroes dwell everywhere
Why praise a hero when we all are one
Why is their war different form mine?

Jose Rizal, our national hero
Wrote poems and stories that made us strong
Yet what war is yours different from mine,
When I write poems and stories just fine.

Apolinario Mabini boasts of war conquests in our land
The Katipunan, was he part of that?
They shed their bloods, but what makes them different?
For I too shed my blood in vain

I could accept Lapu-lapu in Mactan
At least he won his rebellion fine
Against the Spaniards, he drove them away
For five hundred years, so the book says

Why praise those heroes who never won
A fight in life where there was torn
Why praise those heroes who shed their blood
And yet held no glory in the mud?

I don’t know of the war in the fields
Never knew the war with those guns and things
Never knew of the blood you shed
The tears, the pain that you have bled

O heroes, forgive me for my ignorance
That I do not thank you for all you’ve done
With all the sacrifices for instance
That you have exchanged for fun

I don’t know of the life you dwell
I don’t know the food you sell
But I do know that I have my life to see
The fruit of your efforts, you’ve waited for eternity

About other people’s lives

About other people’s lives

Rizal the hero must have chewed cud
And found the grass bitter, or the mongo
Beans too hard for his taste. Perhaps he
Did not know the exact number of
His buttons when he walked towards
Luneta and face his accusers
And meet his death. Perhaps he did not
Like the light from his lamp when
He wrote a poem. I do not really know
More about his persona life.
Did he like cheese? Did he take a deep
Breath and spit on the dogs along
The road? He poured no tears
Onto the frying pan of this
Old country. They wrote a lot
After two or more centuries
And there were so many stories
Not really rumors but I thank
God I am no great hero.
No one writes about me
And I think I am more understood
In my own privacy.

I do not really mind about
Other people’s lives
I do not peep on my
Neighbor’s windows.
I move my own hip
And drive my own car
Slowly away from those
Crowd on the parking lots
Of the mall. I like to stay
On the side of an abandoned house
And just sit there for a while
For no reason at all.
Winds do not frisk trees I guess.
Hairs fell wherever they want.
I touch my own cheek
And bite my own lips.
God! I like it when I am here
And no one minds me.
And I mind no one too.
I like the bridge
Long enough for my
Hand to travel on my nose.

Let Me Be Your HERO

Let Me Be Your HERO
By: Jo E

My daughter, let me be your Hero.
Let me take you hand and lead you into a dance.
Let me look at you and take you in my arms.
Dance with me in the Rain.
But most of all my daughter 'Let me be you Hero'
Let me show you how much you are loved.
Let me show you how much I LOVE YOU.
Let me just protect you.
But most of all, will you Let me be YOUR HERO
Let me be YOUR HERO

Take my hand, and i will lead you.
I will lead you to the most beautiful, wonderful, magic place where its just you and me!
Let me be Your HERO
I will take you hand in mine and never let go
Let me be YOUR HERO
I will love you till eternity
Let me be YOU HERO
Let me hold you in my arms where u just want to cry
Let me be YOUR HERO
I wil protect you, when there is no one to protect you. Ill BE YOUR HERO!
WIll you just let me be you HERO?

My Daughter ILL be YOUR HERO if only you will LET ME BE YOUR HERO!

Mr. Hero

I found this hero today.
They looked right through me,
As though I were invisible.
They never noticed me,
What a smile I had on my face.

I am happy to see you, Mr. Hero,
But you don't see that I'm right here.
You're looking right through me.
You're not seeing that I'm here.

Mr. Hero, I am here to save you,
For you are my hero no longer.
I'm here to take care of you, Mr. Hero,
Not for you to take care of me.

Wake up, Mr. Hero.
I'm here to take your temperature.
I'm here to make sure you're all better.
Mr. Hero, I'm sorry to inform you,
But you're not my hero anymore.

05 - A Hero

A hero thinks of others before they think of themselves
A hero will die to protect
A hero can be of any age, any colour
A hero can be man, woman or child
A hero is courageous, loving and brave
A hero will never complain
A hero can be made in one act of compassion
Or years of tender loving care
Some hero's are remembered, whilst many are left forgotten
Hero's are angels in disguise, saving precious innocent lives

Everything Is Kiling Me....

As soon as you're born they make you feel small
By giving you no time instead of it all
Till the pain is so big you feel nothing at all
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be

They hurt you at home and they hit you at school
They hate you if you're clever and they despise a fool
Till you're so fucking crazy you can't follow their rules
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be

When they've tortured and scared you for twenty odd years
Then they expect you to pick a career
When you can't really function you're so full of fear
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be

Keep you doped with religion and sex and TV
And you think you're so clever and classless and free
But you're still fucking peasants as far as I can see
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be

There's room at the top they are telling you still
But first you must learn how to smile as you kill
If you want to be like the folks on the hill
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be

If you want to be a hero well just follow me
If you want to be a hero well just follow me

The Hero and The Villain

When you see a Hero,
what do you think of the Hero?
'The Hero is Amazing'
'The Hero saves lives'
'The Hero is a bad person, not even human.'
'He stinks and I don't like the hero.'

People love the hero,
they love the hero cause he saves lives,
they love him cause he protects the city,

Some people don't like the hero cause they are
the ones who do crime.

Crimes like murder, kidnapping, stealing, sell drugs,
rob banks..... but the person who hates the hero the
most..... is the Villain.

The ones who hate the Villain the most is the people,
the hero never takes a life, the hero doesn't hate the Villain, the hero wants to help the Villain.

The Villain knows he needs help, but the Villain Doesn't want help, the Villain has been through an emotional life, the villains hates everyone...

Everyone knows a Superhero story goes, the Villain ends up Dead..

Everyone must know this..

Sometimes all the Villains were once heroes..

You die a hero, or you live long enough to see
yourself become the Villain....

Your Hero Will Never Be Mine

By the way you talk of your hero one would swear out of him the sun shine
Don''t try to convince me of his worth your hero will never be mine
To me your hero is responsible of crimes against humanity
Because of him thousands have died and thousands more maimed and injured why do you talk of him to me.

Our values are so very different I''m not saying you are wrong and I''m right
The one that you say is your hero I look on as a lesser light
I won''t argue with you about politics that''s not why I came in here tonight
I came here for a few quiet drinks and all I need is peace and quiet.

Go tell someone else of your hero since of him I do not wish to hear
You know how I feel on that subject so leave me for to drink my beer
For an argument you seem to be looking though for such I am not in the mood
You tell someone else of your hero forgive me if I do seem rude.

I don''t talk to you of my heroes as my heroes would seem cowards to you
But each to their own I believe in and those words as ever ring true
How come all of your heroes are war men did war ever solve anything
The war dead we well may remember but they can''t hear those whom their praises sing.

Don''t talk to me about your hero his type to me does not appeal
''Twould seem you are trying to annoy me since about him you know how I feel
I came here just for a few quiet drinks and since your hero is not a hero to me
Go talk to someone else about him and with what you say they may even agree.

Hero's

Do you know any Hero's? I do, I know a few.
One is from way back when, the rest are here and now.
One stands out from all the others, and no it's not my brother.
Hero's put their lives on the line to save people they may never know.
To make all the wrongs into a little right, with just a little fight.
They don't think about themselves half as much as they think of all of us.
Hero's don't want any of the Glory all they want is What is Ours
OUR FREEDOM.
They will fight til the End to get what they defend.
My Hero that stands out in my Heart from all the rest is my Daughter
from The NATIONAL GUARD

A dream come true

But you can't get through
I walk on water and i don't get wet
I've got something you won't forget
I'm a cult hero -- payed my dues
I'm a cult hero -- got nothing to lose
I'm a cult hero
I'm a cult hero
I'm ahead of my time
You'll never rule me
'coz i'm all mine
Bounce off of me
'coz i'm so strong

Hero

My hero is no hero at all.
My hero silently walks these empty halls.
As I falter…
As I fall…
My hero continues to walk these silent…empty halls,
These halls are windows into my hell.
Servants of Baal…
Here they dwell.
Frozen inequities… How fickle they are to me
My hero possesses no qualities at all.
My hero…has virtues but none known well
My hero only protects his respect.
My hero… is no hero at all.
