Thundering Rains
Unicorns kindle like the virgins of green suicide:
You glide over the sight of me with the age old religious wound
In your side;
And now I will live in a house as old as a Bible, and I will
Flip through pictures of you while I call you from my window:
And the children will smoke out of the chimney stacks
From the decrepit factories where are they are working for
Profit:
And I will give them chalk drawings at their feet like colorful
Murder;
And I will kiss the young girls’ mouths just as they are coming
Into age,
Just like the blooming yet illegal tributaries of sharks with strange
Conjunctions,
And I will show them my fleet of paper airplanes:
Maybe I will make them say Sharon’s times like so many Hail Mary’s
Even while she falls in love with another man other
Than her husband once again in the soccer fields where she has
Surely been playing again and once again in the deeper
And heavier thundering rains.

Deeper Side
Ive found a reason to dig deep down.
Theres a part of you that I aint found thats in your deeper side.
Instead of wondering what I should do,
I tried to learn a couple things about you from your deeper side.
Show me your deeper side. (show me your deeper side)
Show me your deeper side. (show me your deeper side)
Show me your deeper side. (its a mystery)
That I would give most anything to see.
Theres a lot of things that I would know
If you would let me climb into your soul and see your deeper side.
Everybody always seems so pure,
Then they show you what their heart stands for in their deeper side.
Show me your, yeah. (show me your deeper side)
Show me your deeper side. (show me your deeper side)
Show me your deeper side. (its a mystery)
I would give most anything to see.
You think the world has got your number now.
You cry about it but you know somehow its your deeper side.
I heard you wishing you were someone else
But all thats stopping you from being yourself is your deeper side.
So, show me your deeper side. (show me your deeper side)
Please, show me your deeper side. (show me your deeper side)
Oh, show me your deeper side. (its a mystery)
I would give most anything, and, I would give most anything.
You would give most anything to see.
Show me your deeper side.

Taking Away Grandfathers
Fat as rainbows belching into the city
And in the suburban yards one or two city cypress
As new as truant children skipping from school;
And if you look into the mouths where lions yawn,
Whole kaleidoscopes filled with city school
Buses,
And the long, young yards cut up by palmettos:
When it rains tender hooks- the alligators snore,
And you spend a long, young time
Passing smoke between the mouths- and Roman
Candles send up hopeless flares to the
Finnish bellies of the airplanes who go and then leave
Like holidays,
Spreading their arms like superheroes- and then
Taking away grandfathers or whoever once existed
Before your eyes.

Do You Love Your Children
Father do you love your children
I heard you do
But father will you help your children
We need you to
It could be worse I know its true
But only if we plan
La la la lady mary... its time to show your hand
La la la lady mary... and make a few demands
Children do you hope that someone
Is watching you
But do you feel the need for someone
I know I do
I think about it constantly
We really arent that wise
La la la lady mary... open up our eyes
La la la lady mary... and make us realize
First I have a question
(do you love us)
I would like to know
(do you love us)
Do you love your children
(do you love us)
Do you love your children
(do you love us)
Yes we really need to know
(do you love us)
I think the time has come for you to show
(do you love us)
(do you love us) (do you love us)
(do you love us)(do you love us)
(do you love us) (do you love us)
(do you love us)
Mother, do you love your children
I know you do
But mother do you know your children
Will poison you
The answer does not seem too clear
We look so hard ourselves
La la la lady mary... put your books back on the shelf
La la la lady mary... and save us from ourselves
First I have a question
(do you love us)
I would like to know
(do you love us)
Do you love your children
(do you love us)
Do you love your children
(do you love us)
Yes we really need to know
(do you love us)
I think the time has come for you to show
(do you love us)
(do you love us) (do you love us)
(do you love us)(do you love us)
(do you love us) (do you love us)
(do you love us)

a Kiss
A kiss can be described in a thousand words
A kiss is a thousand words but I'm goin to describe it in just a few.
To me a kiss is the most important thing that you and girlfriend or your boyfriend or your husband or your wife can do to show your true feelings about each other
Wheather it's to show how much you love each other and want to make things work.
Every kiss the last kiss: the one defining vast kiss
But once we know it isn't so, Each kiss is the best kiss: a deeper-than-the-rest-kiss, until our needs or pleasures greed impels us to the next kiss

KISS

Im In Love
Mom is talking on the phone talking to her agent
Got a big role in the egg & i
Dad is in the hall checking the replacements
Got the underware in overdrive
Somethings going on
I can hear the rumble getting louder on the quiet side
Call it what you want
Some will call it hunger
Some will call it everything in sight
So let the girls wear pants
Let the young boys dance in twos
And the walls? paint em blue!
cause Im in love with you
Summer turns to fall every single summer
Its a wonder that were still around
Well I could build a wall, I could be a bummer
I could tell you everythings down
Oh somethings going on
I can hear the grumble getting quiet on the louder side
Call it what you want
Some will call it thunder
Someone else will call it dynamite
So let the girls romance
Give the young boys dancing shoes
And the walls? paint em blue!
cause Im in love
Im in love with bees & birds (Im in love)
Im in love with the sun (Im in love)
Im in love with thought of the day
When the world is one (Im in love)
Im in love with the boys and girls (Im in love)
Im in love with the rain
Im in love with the sound you make
When you call my name
Sounds like peace again
Somethings awful wrong falling down is easy
Its the getting up thats getting hard
Call it what you want it can be misleading
But it can also take you where you are
Well I can hear them all talking to their faces
This is not the way you want to be
Take it to the wall or any other place
And you will see what Ive been trying to mean
So let the young girls dance
With the young boys dancing too
And the walls? paint em blue!
cause Im in love
Im in love with the boys and girls (Im in love)
Im in love with the sun (Im in love)
Im in love with thought of the day
When the world is one (Im in love)
Im in love with bees & birds (Im in love)
Im in love with the rain
Im in love with the sound you make
When you call my name
Sounds like peace again
Im in love (Im in love)
Yeah!

Summer
Rabbits hopping around the glossy meadow
Children playing on their swing set
The dog playing with the cat on the patio
My husband cooking up a barbeque
Makes my mouth water with hunger
Eating dinnner by the camp fire
Hearing the children talk about their day
I give my husband a kiss for making a great meal
The children heading to bed
While my husband and I are still sitting by the fire holding hands

Airplan
Airplanes, airplanes fly through the sky with amazing speeds they fly, look out the window
At little world below it's amazing.Airplanes, airplanes look at them fly, they fly through
They clouds and wind. Some fly to London and some to war carrying survival supplies for
Their country. Some may die so others will survive.
Airplanes, airplanes aren't they amazing they help us every day and night.
Airplanes, airplanes so bird like in their manner.

Singing Children
IN the streets of Bethlehem sang the children
So merry and so shrill,
'He shall have sweet cedars in his garden
And a house on Hermon Hill.
He shall have the king's daughter for his fellow,
A king's crown to bind upon his head.'
And with bracken buds and straw, brown and yellow,
Mary made His bed.
In the streets of Nazareth sang the children
So clearly and so sweet,
'He shall lead us to the spoiling of the nations,
He shall bruise them with his feet.
His standards shall outface the stars for number,
Red as field-lilies when the rains are done.'
And Mary heard them singing in her slumber.
And woke to kiss her Son.
In the streets of Jerusalem the children
Sang, passing to their play,
'The king's daughter waits in her apparel
All glorious as day.
We charge you, O ye watchmen, of your pity
Reveal us our belovéd, call his name.'
And the shadow of a cross beyond the city
Fell softly o'er their game.
In the ways of all the world sing the children,
'We know Him, we have named Him, He is ours,
Like leaves we have fluttered to His shadow,
He has gathered us as flowers.
And when the bud falls all too soon for blossom
And when the play has wearied of its charm,
He bears the tired lambs within His bosom
And the young lambs in His arm.'

Younger Girls
Words and music by robin zander and rick nielsen
Try to bend me, try to shake me
Try and turn my head around
Oh try to change me, rearrange me
I think you know about the boy you found
A fantasy like this is hit and run
Younger girls
Oh how i love those younger girls
Younger girls
Oh how i love those younger girls
I had a dream about girls like you
You said call us, you'll get two
One for your money, two for the show
I'll give you something more
I know,i know,i know,i know
It's hard enough to make you wanna cry
Younger girls
Oh how i love those younger girls
Younger girls
Oh how i love those younger girls
It's hard enough to make you wanna cry
And it drives me out of my mind
I'm in love with you, baby
My poor innocent baby
Don't you say maybe
Younger girls
Oh how i love those younger girls
Younger girls
Oh how i love those younger girls
Feels so good, let me in
I might jump right out of my skin
Don't you ever grow up little girl
Sweet young thing, not so innocent
Younger girls
Oh how i love those younger girls
Younger girls
Oh how i love those younger girls
(repeat to coda)

The Airplanes Coming Indoors
Then there is a womb opened in a new
Holiday,
Bright with her children and blind snow storms:
All of the wolves make a surplus
Around the orchard of her
Little house,
And the snakes hang down from their
Christmas trees,
Tired from their gossiping,
And her father’s car, and her husband’s car
Wait outside—
The day is equally beautiful, and she lays brown-
Eyed with her children
And never has to worry about the airplanes
Coming indoors.

Summer Side Of Life
He came down throught fields of green
On the summer side of life
His love was ripe
There were no illusions
On the summer side of life
Only tenderness
And if you saw him now
Youd wonder why he would cry
The whole day long
There were young girls everywhere
On the summer side of life
The talked all night
To the young men that they knew
On the summer side of life
Goin off to fight
And if you saw them now
Youd wonder why they would cry
The whole day long
He came down through field of green
On the summer side of life
He prayed all night
Then he walked into a house
Where love had been misplaced
His chance to waste
And if you saw him now
Youd wonder why he would cry
The whole day long

The Colors Of Human!
hands black as soot,
my feet are red....
my eyes are green,
my hair turned grey.
my soul is Asian,
my spirit Native American....
my hard working dedication,
........Hispanic.....
my people come from Ireland,
and some from Africa....
anywhere where the persecuted,
.... cut and fled!
working in the fields,
the factories, and even the mines....
cutting wood, milking cows,
working for the man.
i am human!
and i'm damn tired
of being used!

Those Happy Times
i agree with you Benny
most of the happy moments we have are those
outside the house
when the big heads and the righteous old ones are not looking
they were our prison guards
and they were treating us
like convicts of the crimes we did not commit
but we maintained the silence
because of the respect
for old age not really wisdom
i agree the rivers and the seas know us better
than there mouths
their beating hands
their gritting teeth cursing us the day we were born
poor like they way they lived and survived their own wars
their own fates
there was not attempt at all by them to learn
to reconstruct old broken selves
to heal old worn hearts
to free the mind from those that fettered them
their parents of course
our grandparents as we call them
those insensitive looks
those shoulders as broad as their indifference
that was the farthest place we lived once
we live with
i am sure of myself
i am liberated
i have freed my minds from the shackles of poverty
and prejudices
i am sure
indeed i am sure
i cannot live there anymore
and coming back
to me would be murder
as mortal as death
as crazy as suicide
well we can send them letters
or emails
we can send them chain letters
and pictures of saints
or the Pope or
Mother Teresa
but i guess with their senile minds
and cracked bones
everything is now too late
it is dark
and remember
we were children once and they never let us play
under the full moon
when the stars glitter when we first learn
the magic
of imagination
when the air was fresh
when romance first showed
under the bush
when it rains and then we do not run
back for shelter
when we dance and laugh
and chase
dreams and ambitions
images and colors
rainbows and bridges
fairies and kingdoms...

Im Coming Out
Im coming out
Im coming
Im coming out
Im coming out
Im coming out
Im coming out
Im coming out
I want the world to know
Got to let it show
Im coming out
I want the world to know
I got to let it show
Theres a new me coming out
And I just had to live
And I wanna give
Im completely positive
I think this time around
I am gonna do it
Like you never do it
Like you never knew it
Ooh, Ill make it through
The time has come for me
To break out of the shell
I have to shout
That Im coming out
Im coming out
I want the world to know
Got to let it show
Im coming out
I want the world to know
I got to let it show
Im coming out
I want the world to know
Got to let it show
Im coming out
I want the world to know
I got to let it show
Ive got to show the world
All that I wanna be
And all my billities
Theres so much more to me
Somehow, I have to make them
Just understand
I got it well in hand
And, oh, how Ive planned
Im spreadin love
Theres no need to fear
And I just feel so glad
Everytime I hear:
Im coming out
I want the world to know
Got to let it show
Im coming out
I want the world to know
I got to let it show

Show me
Show me the place
where we lived once
when the earth was still young,
before man’s hand
like a sickle went over it
and chopped until woods
disappeared totally
and deserts appeared in places.
Show me the fields, marches and hillocks
where animals at a time was carefree
before the rifle
sounded without end
and mines, factories, buildings
and rail tracts harassed the earth
and everything yielded
to steel and concrete.
Show me the blue sky
that at a time was pure
and now is full of smoke and ash
and water that fell sparkling
as rain from the air
and brought life
and could wash everything clean
and now eat
while it falls filled with acid.
Show me the streams and rivers
where at a time there were healthy fish
that could bring water to fields
and where children for the fun
could jump in
and now are filled with sewerage,
poisons, minerals
and garbage that drifts everywhere.
Show me seasons
that comes on their time
and now every day
is winter, summer and spring
while life
pass much too quickly
and the hand of man
for ever are mowing out the earth
and a day might come,
when the earth
becomes man’s own
place of damnation.

The Sun kept stooping—stooping
152
The Sun kept stooping—stooping—low!
The Hills to meet him rose!
On his side, what Transaction!
On their side, what Repose!
Deeper and deeper grew the stain
Upon the window pane—
Thicker and thicker stood the feet
Until the Tyrian
Was crowded dense with Armies—
So gay, so Brigadier—
That I felt martial stirrings
Who once the Cockade wore—
Charged from my chimney corner—
But Nobody was there!

For The Sake Of Progress
We wander down the paths,
we used so long ago, when we were young,
before the world we now know.
Down the country lanes, shaded and narrow,
by fields of wheat and marrow.
By sunlight, by moonlight, we lazed on our way.
Passed the green lands we did not stray.
Years have descended on us and our pleasures there,
it made a waste land of our garden fair.
Air is more darker.
Factories belch smoke here and there.
No more the soft white clouds, or birds on the wing.
Just black pools of floating fish,
while greasy faces smirk.
The green of fields are replaced,
for the green greed of crispy notes.
No longer postcard pictures,
but sewers up turned towards the sky.
The faces are not happy, their scorn is waste and wild.
Another of natures landmarks, scared black every row.
For the sake of progress,
or at least they tell us so.

Love
Baby weve been through a lot
And times sure have changed
Everybodys leaving town
Looking for better things
But I found what I want
And I got no problem working
I wish to god
That my heart would stop hurting
Shops closing down
Factories outdated
People so frustrated
My whole life is changing
Just trying to find some solid ground
A little house with a picket fence
Hows that sound
Love is all I need
Love is all I need
Ive seen tears that are
Falling like leaves from the trees
Houses boarded up and they
Threw away the keys
But this town is where were born
And this town is where were staying
Ill never ever turn my back
On you ever again
Come on lets be together
I got some money put aside
And if I make it big
Would you take a little ride
Would you promise to always
Stay by my side
Woudl you give me true love
And have nothing to hide
Would you give my your love
Would you give me your love
Would you give me your love
If you want to give me your love babe
Its alright
Its alright
Its alright
We can make a change in our life babe
Tonight
Its alright
Its alright

Playing on the Playground
Everyone plays in groups,
They run across the playground.
Playing football or soccer and,
Maybe even basketball.
Girls running around chasing boys
And here's me playing soccer or me,
playing alone. Maybe always alone.
