This Lighthearted Responsibility

I smell the clefts of books in place if finding the
Face of Wallace Stevens.
And I would otherwise want to be anywhere, enlightened,
Stretched out like a cherry and golden worm:
Sure we can all graduate from the enlightened point of state college,
But how can we still touch ourselves while the paint is still
Drying;
And now I have a scar on my temple that will soon disappear,
While you are still speaking uneasily to yourself;
And all the pretty girls grow like hedges, let them grow untamed and
Feral; and they will grow just like Constantine’s balloons,
While I keep the high grade liquor between my legs,
And they keep publishing things that they cannot know, while all of their
Problems grow and grow; and their problems keep on getting multiplied,
While of their cities can find themselves trapped inside in slow
Motion, galloping on their ponies like the private séances
Of the waves and hibiscus; while the water moccasins prance,
And all of the stolen bicycles are stolen into the trances of watery bridges;
And the teal-high mothers don’t have any other words for it other than that
They are all spent on the trail head and that they are all but ready to become
All undone; and the night sure looks busy, but other than that I don’t
Claim any of all of this lighthearted responsibility.

I Grow Old

I grow old I should feel the cold

I grow old I should have grey hair

I grow old I should sit and stare

I grow old I should have false teeth

I grow old I should have poor sight

I grow old I should have aches and pains

I grow old I should 'stroll down memory lane'

I grow old I should walk with a stick

But as I grow old I KICK ASS!

Grow.
Difficult it is.
And in the doing,
It is magical too.
If you,
Allow yourself to grow.
And not gloat upon your sensitivities.
With emotions on your sleeve to show.

Slow and determine,
To acquire knowledge.
And not upon it sit.

Become more inquisitive...
About life as it exists.

Don't permit,
Given criticisms to stop your quest.
The more that is learned,
The more of them...
May just manifest.

Grow.

It will become easy to be embittered,
By all that appears stagnant.
But a patience that develops,
Will within you begin to navigate...
Over obstacles and things that irritate.

You can and will,

Show it with defined purpose.

Don't fear ignorance.

Overcome it like hopping a fence.

Memoirs
About bombing
Villages
They've never seen.

Growing old
Presents a peril
They may not
Expect.

beginning,
i look at how your
name spells
letters arranged
so easy to remember
and you hint
about the three words
that i also know....

cute, tickle me, like
high school sweethearts
you like it
giggling words
i love you

but grow a little
bit, grow the length of my arms
and muscles on my thighs
grow the nails
in my fingers
some dirt in there
some stains
in my hands

yes, have white hairs
and wrinkled forehead
and trembling hands

and some sad stories
as you go along
some griefs
that you cannot contain
move on

I love the fact
You act like your still my mom
You tell me to grow up
Yet look at yourself
How could you possibly tell me to grow up
Look at yourself hunny
I am only seventeen
And your 37th birthday was yesterday
Yet you still act like a child
Do not tell me I need to grow up
Because you do not know anything about me
And whose fault is that
Yours! !
Instead of paying to have your children killed
You could of closed your legs and came see me
But no you wanted sex instead of your daughter

How do you move in a world of fog that's always

Never want The only thing to live for is today...
I'm gonna put a hole in my T.V. set I don't wanna grow up

I don't wanna have to shout it out I don't want my hair to fall out

Well I don't know what to say

God Always Answers Prayers

When the idea is not right, God says, 'No'

No - when the idea is not the best
No - when the idea is absolutely wrong
No - when although it may help you it could create
problems for someone else.

When the time is not right, God says, 'Slow'

What a catastrophe it would be
If God answered every prayer at the snap of your
fingers.
Do you know what would happen?
God would become your servant, not your master.
Remember: God's delay is not God's denial
God's timing is perfect
Patience is what we need in prayer

When you are not right, God says, 'Grow'

The selfish person must grow in unselfishness
The cautious person must grow in courage
The timid person must grow in confidence
The dominating person must grow in sensitivity
The critical person must grow in tolerance
The negative person must grow in positive attitudes
The pleasure-seeking person must grow in compassion
for suffering people

When everything is all right, God says, 'Go'

Then miracles happen
A hopeless alcoholic is set free
A drug addict finds release
A doubter becomes a child in his belief
Diseased tissue responds to treatment, and healing

So God leaned out his head,
