These Are the Songs that Came from My Head

These are the songs that came from my head,
They came out when I came from bed,
A fairy told me a story or two in my dream,
It had all shorts of scenes but some where rather gleam;
Of mountains and forests and lonesome skies,
Of all shorts of opportunities and failures and tries,
That came as they wend like others go by,
But don't ask any questions, yes don't ask me why.
In the woods of the darkest forest I dwell,
Because a fairy put on me an unknown spell,
And no one can resolve that old some riddle,
Unless he could play the truest of fiddle;
These are the songs that came from my head,
But no one can hear them or where they will led,
Because here I am now wandering just around,
Trying to find a way out but I am all spellbound.
Butterflies and insects of all other shorts,
Are meeting with fairies and judges of higher courts;
They want me to be rescued and see me safely home,
Before night's again here with its supernatural gloam.

At the Boxing match

Sat at the ringside
as the boxers
entered the ring.
One in the blue corner
the other in the red
referee in his white shirt.
Then the bell goes
for the first round
both boxers move about.
Blue shorts punches first
then red shorts returns
with two big body shots
blue shorts winces in pain.
Both fighters slug it out
for another ten rounds
the crowd around me
are up on their feet.
The bell ends the battle
red shorts thinks he's won
but blue shorts gets his arm
raised by white shirt.
The pugilists hug each other
and there's no hard feelings
just fighters doing their job.

Folklore for Children (1) and (2)

(1)

Won't you listen in my garden
to the tapping dancing feet
and the singing of the fairies
playing violins so sweet?

Won't you listen to the pixies
and the fairy queen's refrain,
songs of romance, songs of folklore
or do the fairies sing in vain?

Come and join these mystic beings
with pretty wings of fairest hue
delightful elves and friendly fairies
will sing and dance each day for you.

(2)

Down in yonder Elfin Park
Fairies play upon the swing.
Mother nature makes her mark
Saying 'au revoir' to spring.

Summertime is entering in
Fairy Queen begins to sing
No longer dark in Elfin Park
Sunbeams light the fairy ring.

Pretty Queen has lost her heart
True love to her is everything
And if we walk through Elfin Park
Bells will surely 'ting-a-ling'.

Fairy Tale High

On a fairy tale high
Don't you believe that your dreams all come true
The fairy tale world inside can bring it to you
You just have to wish, and you'll take off and fly
On a fairy tale high, fairy tale high
Fairy tale high, fairy tale high
On a fairy tale high
Just look around you, the dark clouds are far
Stand on your tiptoes, and reach for a star
As stardust comes sprinkling, it will brighten your eyes
On a fairy tale high, fairy tale high
Fairy tale high, fairy tale high
Fairy tale high, fairy tale high, fairy tale high
On a fairy tale high, feeling higher and higher
On a fairy tale high, feeling higher and higher
On a fairy tale high, feeling higher and higher
On a fairy tale high, feeling higher and higher
On a fairy tale high, feeling higher and higher

A Fairy’s Touch

Starlight and moonbeams and dew drops on flowers gleam
That beckon to the Fairy’s touch
Grasshoppers, crickets, they sing their songs
In the night to the one that they love

Fire flies light up the night
Among the flowers they glide
Look and you’ll see, they come gather the dew
They come, the Fairy in flight

Oh how the flowers they beckon so much
For is love that of a Fairy’s touch
They spread their wings and so gleam in the moonbeams
As they so spread their Fairy dust

All through the night as you close your eyes
And as you lay fast asleep
They take to flight and fly in the moonlight
And sprinkle their stardust for dreams

So when you lay asleep in the moonlight
And you remember so perfect that dream
Remember the night, a Fairy took flight
Your dream arrived on it’s wing.

beach volleyball today.

you wear your cap
to protect you from the sun.

you wear your beach shorts
blue shorts with big white flowers

you walk barefoot.
and then you decide to walk straight
to the internet cafe.

and you are here now.
you do not like
anybody else.

cruel world. hot sun. your flight
is still tomorrow morning.

another loud night.
an impatient self trying to be

The Flowers

All the names I know from nurse:
Gardener's garters, Shepherd's purse,
Bachelor's buttons, Lady's smock,
And the Lady Hollyhock.

Fairy places, fairy things,
Fairy woods where the wild bee wings,
Tiny trees for tiny dames--
These must all be fairy names!

Tiny woods below whose boughs
Shady fairies weave a house;
Tiny tree-tops, rose or thyme,
Where the braver fairies climb!

Fair are grown-up people's trees,
But the fairest woods are these;
Where, if I were not so tall,
I should live for good and all.

Where Do The Fairies Go?

I was eating a fairy cake the other morn, when I thought I wonder if it's true that for every baby born, a fairy god mother is sworn.

Well now I have grown up, can I still speak to the fairies or am I just away with?

I seem to think I know they are there, but where have they gone?

I don't remember ever seeing one, what do they look like, are they pixies, elves or just plain sprite?

I have heard is possible to see, but that is only by those who believe, or is it just for those inclined spiritually?

Well my fairy cake tasted just nice. Maybe the cake is blessed by fairies, hence their name, or maybe fairies are just another bed-time story again?

Thrush In The Fairycastle

In the fairy castle in the back,
A pair of thrushes dwelt.
For wondrous songs I did not lack,
The most beauteous, heartfelt.

Peeking inside of their domain,
You'd see the passing of the years.
You'd see nests if your neck you'd crane,
There they could nestle without fear.

Ever higher the levels went,
As the fairy castle grew in age.
And it seemed as their fledgelings out they sent,
The fairy castle turned a page.

Then just last week I saw one morn,
A single solitary thrush.
Singing on the fairy castle lost and forlorn,
I felt his songs my heart would crush.

All day all night he sang away,
But it was all for naught.
And there I see him everyday,
Lost is the one he sought.

It breaks my heart, to see him so,
His heart like mine is torn in two.
His songs all day and night do flow,
I wish I knew what to do.

They were my companions for so many years,
When I left, they remained.
They sang to me through joy and tears,
Through sunshine, and through rain.

He never wanders very far,
For the fairy castle is his home.
And he sings away at the sun and stars,
But now he sings alone.

The Fairycastle was planted in my backyard,
About fifteen years ago. It is a member of the,
Genus, Night Blooming Cereus, and it,
Is about twelve to fifteen feet high, and extremely thorny.

Dreams of Great Things (2)

Jumping straight into summer going from three
jerseys to swimsuit and shorts, I bought fairy
flip flops with diaphanous roses and sequins
too beautiful to wear, the sweet scent of
jasmine filling the air

The crocodile within me lay in the sun yesterday
luxuriating in the cool wind stroking and teasing
my skin, the inviting pool too cool for swimming
yet I dipped my head in the icy water while
my ankles froze

A layer of misty cloud wisps obscuring the sun
today, almost too late to go outside again, the
crocodile restless, inspired by dreams of great
things while all that is expected is cleaning the
kitchen; I wonder

Did Edith Holden, Edwardian author of the Country
Diary, ever wash dishes, feel angry, dream of new
things; she simply describes the weather and
wildlife and nature trips, not a word about
any other feeling

Wonderment and joy expressed in quotes,
descriptions and enchanting drawings, I
wish I could be like this

Wearing sensible brown comfort sandals while
my flower flipflops are camouflaged among the
golden grass in a cut glass container, just now
Nici brought me a big plastic flask for purified
water from her room

I immediately saw the perfect fish tank imitation
to be used to create a fairy garden, cannot wait
to soak off the label and start playing, there must
be a way to fulfil a lifelong dream of making a
magical fairyland play-thing

I shall add miniature flowers, glitter, crinkle paper,
and butterflies to create the right ambiance for the
fairies living within

The Rose Fairy

When God created the very first rose,
All the forest fairies were thrilled!
They formed a queue to line up for a smell,
Each swooning at its delightful fragrance.
The king of the fairies called them to his throne,
Reminding them that each flower is blessed,
With each one appointed its own fairy...
But who could they choose for the rose! ?

All the fairies not yet appointed flew near,
Each pointing to herself as the right choice!
Then the queen of the fairies calmed them down,
'Settle down, impetuous ones! ' she said...
So all the female fairies flapped their wings no more,
Settling once again upon the ground...
'Come, come! ' she scolded! 'None of you will do! '
The fairies' faces went blood red with shame!

The king looked at them in turn, loving them all.
Such enthusiasm, such devotion, but who would do?
The queen pointed directly to the king himself!
'You, Your Majesty, you must be the rose fairy! '
'What! ? ' remarked the king! 'That's unheard of! '
She held his hand with love and told him,
'There's no-one greater than you for this rose! '

The fairies leapt with joy! Flying here and there!
Doing athletics flips and backward somersaults!
When the king saw the joy of all the fairies, he smiled.
He was humbled by this wondrous spectacle
And he stood up, wiped away a tiny tear and told them,
'Never has a king been so blessed as I feel today! '

And so it was that the rose fairy was announced.
And God looked down upon the fairies in the forest
And smiled... and smiled... and smiled...

A Song Of Faries

Flitter flutter here and there
Flying high up in the air
Fairy dust is just so fragile
And the fairies flying are all so agile
And sparkles in the sun
Oh looking for fairies is so much fun
Under some rocks or under a pot
Flying around a twisted vine knot
Under the tree is where the fun begins
all of our faces bearing grins
That’s me and my fairy friends

They lead me to the river they lead me to its spring
The lead to their castle to see the fairy king
Its pearly white with lots of land
Wow this place is very grand
I hop inside to take a peek
Me and the fairies play hide and seek

That night I share a bedroom with a little girl called sky
I like her lots ‘cause she’s my friend even if she’s shy
The sun shines through my window bright as bright can be
I hop out of bed with a big sigh of glee
Because today’s the day when I go home
To where I live back in Italy, Rome

I wave goodbye to my fairy friends
And tie together all loose ends
So goodbye fairies I’ll visit you soon
In the dead of night under the misty moon

Oh my unknown fairy
I don’t know how you look

Oh my unknown fairy
I don’t know what you think

You are dear to me
Your absence makes me think of you

You are far away from me
But still I feel you near

I cherish dreams of you

And let those dreams come true

One-Way Fairy Tale

set in forests, castles, and kingdoms
begin with “in a faraway place…” and “once upon a time”
tell about princesses, fairies, princes and monsters
end with kisses and live happily after ever after

it’s funny how fairy tales are expected to be this way
filled with magic and wishes and enchanted days
though always start with humble and sad beginnings
they still close into happy endings

how I wish my tale will be the same
in which i just have to win over evil plans and games
then it’ll be forever with my fairy
a forever which is beyond any possibility

only prince charming can have cinderella
only shrek can possibly be with princess fiona
my story won’t end as happy as theirs
‘cause my fairy won’t be with me after an ever after

after some borrowed time, things will lose their magic
after some stolen seconds, clocks will normally click
unlike those fairy tales that never end after closing a book
mine will surely be forgotten after a talk

only you, my fairy can say it won’t end that bad
only you can stop ending my story that sad
even an author doesn’t have much power
only you can make our fairy tale a little bit longer

Friends

In the fairy kingdom of the secret realm
the princess has very special friends
honeybees and butterflies
ladybugs and fireflies

oh yea she has enemies also
they live by the cool blue lake
there is python poison snake
mad widow spider
mr. green lizard
and one mean wizard

who all wish to take over
the fairy princess kingdom
and end the fairy freedom

then there is venus-
the fly trap
who isn't taking anyone's side
she wants to eat them all
even the fairies who love to play,
dance at twilight and fly away

The Ring

I discovered a perfect circle of mushrooms,
some believe this to be a fairy ring.
I decided to watch the ring from some distance
on the off chance I might see something.

After an hour or so of waiting
two butterflies flew around the ring.
A circle of tiny golden stars lit up the area
and I could hear soft voices sing.

Eight fairies appeared sitting on the mushrooms,
it was they who were singing after all.
They began to dance around the ring of mushrooms,
which made them grow incredibly tall.

The silver fairy saw me watching
and flew to the centre of the ring.
She twisted and turned and flew above the circle,
sprinkling fairy dust over everything.

The other fairies turned to face me
and put out their fairy tongues.
They continued to dance in the air regardless,
then faded with the sound of their song.

tailing Tale

in the garden of the east
i saw the pink fairy fly
sparkling trails i saw her leave
as i've seen in picture books

fascinated by this wonder
i followed through the woods
as though guiding me in a dream
it gently slowly led me on

through the garden of the east
into woods and fields
by the brooks and the streams
i just kept on going

wondrous were those sights
of lovely flowers and heady scents
'twas a fairy tale garden indeed
an' i thought it all a fantasy

humming bees and butterflies
led me to that tree
where i saw my fairy perched
on a tiny flower

on that magic pear tree
hung two magic pears
it was not for me i knew
it could have been for you

the air was a sharp delight
the wind was crisp and light
the colors of the evening
had drawn together there

in that magic moment
as me and the fairy stared
the air went suddenly still
and the pears went out of view

it was nothing but a twinkle
like the glitter on a diamond
a beauty to behold
but never to be held

fairy tales have meaning
its always been so
still, for all my searching
i don't find none in here

Ambrose Bierce

Technology

'Twas a serious person with locks of gray
And a figure like a crescent;
His gravity, clearly, had come to stay,
But his smile was evanescent.

He stood and conversed with a neighbor, and
With (likewise) a high falsetto;
And he stabbed his forefinger into his hand
As if it had been a stiletto.

His words, like the notes of a tenor drum,
Came out of his head unblended,
And the wonderful altitude of some
Was exceptionally splendid.

While executing a shake of the head,
With the hand, as it were, of a master,
This agonizing old gentleman said:
''Twas a truly sad disaster!

'Four hundred and ten longs and shorts in all,
Went down'-he paused and snuffled.
A single tear was observed to fall,
And the old man's drum was muffled.

'A very calamitous year,' he said.
And again his head-piece hoary
He shook, and another pearl he shed,
As if he wept _con amore.

'O lacrymose person,' I cried, 'pray why
Should these failures so affect you?
With speculators in stocks no eye
That's normal would ever connect you.'

He focused his orbs upon mine and smiled
In a sinister sort of manner.
'Young man,' he said, 'your words are wild:
I spoke of the steamship 'Hanner.'

'For she has went down in a howlin' squall,
And my heart is nigh to breakin'
Four hundred and ten longs and shorts in all
Will never need undertakin'!

'I'm in the business myself,' said he,
'And you've mistook my expression;
For I uses the technical terms, you see,
Employed in my perfession.'

That old undertaker has joined the throng
On the other side of the River,
But I'm still unhappy to think I'm a 'long,'
And a tape-line makes me shiver.

A tale i was told

Right as i was told their handwriting were'nt bold
so; our forefathers were sold
that their conscience they had sold
but to me; a fairy tale better not told

i was young
and the music seem dingdong
to me at dawn,
the story seem sown
not till i was told
it was a fairy tale better not told.

Unaware in the market; they haggle
to them, the reward a cry
and they saw no battle
but on this path, i dare not ply
To me; a fairy tale better not told.

What seem a tale
to me a dog without tail
on our fall i was
when the tale went on without a pause
to me a fairy better not told.

Spellbound

(mansfield/ oneill/ palmer)
Spellbound, obsessed, Im entranced, possessed
I swear by stars above
Ive never been so much in love
Caught up, entwined, in your embrace, its so divine
You are my all
No lookin back, too far to fall
Spellbound
Baby dont you know, you got me spellbound
Spellbound
Wrenched an unknown feeling from my heart
Baby doll you know you keep me spellbound
Im so high on love I wont come down
Oh oh what do we do?
You fell for me I fell for you
Bewitched, but adored
I never loved like this before
I had a dream
My wish was granted
We got a love, I never thought Id find
Under your spell, I stay enchanted
You cast a charm
Our love is so sublime
Spellbound
Baby dont you know, you got me spellbound
Spellbound
Wrenched an unknown feeling from my heart
Baby doll you know you keep me spellbound
Im so high on love I wont come down
Your kiss is ecstacy, so much intensity
I swear by stars above
Ive never been so much in love
Spellbound
Baby dont you know, you got me spellbound
Spellbound
Wrenched an unknown feeling from my heart
Baby doll you know you keep me spellbound
Im so high on love I wont come down

The Fairy Folk

In the hollow of the oak,
Waiting patiently for night.
The fairy king and fairy folk,
Watch the quickly fading light.

Inside the giant oak they wait,
For their time will soon be here.
With the moon and mist they have a date,
To ride the moonbeams that they hold dear.

The night arrives and the fairies fly,
On golden moonbeams they spread their wings.
Joyously reaching for the sky,
Bringers of dreams and all good things.

The fairy king upon a limb,
Holds court for his subjects every night.
In a hidden corner where the moon is dim,
Till the early morning light.

Deep in the woods, round hollow logs,
Flying near the pond next to the oak.
Through cattails and ferns, playing with frogs,
Bringing joy to the forrest, fly the fairy folk.

If you walk in the woods, your eyes will see,
Their tiny lanterns glowing bright.
Flying on moonbeams forever free,
Illuminating the stygian night.

There really are fairies, without a doubt,
Just believe and they'll appear.
Just walk quietly don't scream or shout,
And you will see them flying near.
