Dying Soldier

I taste blood.
I am dying.
I see things more clearly now.
I feel the broken bones
Within my exhausted sack of a body

I am dying.
I see the doctors come to examine me.
I know there is nothing they can do.
Too many bullet wounds.
So much blood has gone.
The nurses look at me
With pity and pain.
I cry, silently, at night

Hear the screams of the madmen some of us have become.
We will never be whole again.
I turn away from everything.
The drugs make me drowsy, but don't make me forget.
I'd have nightmares in my sleep.
Put me in a drug induced coma
Inside I would still weep.

My parents will be given a medal

There are those who may choose to die.
For whatever reason...
Eyes are wanting to feel,
A realness and not a friction to absorb.
When platters of gold filled deceit,
Offer nothing else to be fed....
With a side order of sincerity seen,
Or felt to mention.

'Gone to forget to leave'

And the feasting of this is encouraged.

Until dishonesty is all that one dreads.
With a wish to numb the head,
From the stirrings that occur from truths.
And although the eating of deceit weakens,
On a daily basis when that addiction eats...

I’ll lay and waste, but you’ll be happy

I don’t know what to say anymore
My words just can’t express how I feel
I don’t know what to do anymore
I can’t find a remedy; my wounds just will not heal

I’ve given this my all, just to try to bring you joy
But you continue to play with me, like I’m your little toy
But this little toy soldier is broken, and can no longer withstand
The task of such melancholy that you place in my hand

I still love you, and I’ll pray
I’ll pray to God that you’ll be happy
I’ll continue to soak in this acid rain
I’ll rot for you, just to make you happy
