The Song That Triggers My Memory
As she lay dying with the radio playing softly in the background,
The notes of a song so sweet tickled and triggered her memory,
Number one in the charts the week she was born,
Playing at her eighteenth birthday party as she floated and swayed in a glorious dance,
The first dance with her first and only boyfriend was during this melody,
Playing at their wedding as a song they claimed ‘theirs’,
Playing its gentle coaxing notes as she made love with her husband on their wedding night,
Had danced and spun to it with her children, spinning them in her arms until all fell to the floor in a dizzy heap,
Now it plays softly in the background as her life slowly trickles away from her,
As she loses that once firm hold on a life so dear,
Triggering her memory to a life that would end with the last single note of a now bittersweet symphony.

Music Of My Heart
MUSIC OF MY HEART
When we are together, there is music in my heart,
but there is only silence, whenever we're apart,
I would rather hear the music playing soft and low,
than hearing only silence everywhere I go,
keep the music playing, keep the sunshine in my life,
so I can dance forever with you as my wife,
there are times when music, is a gentle soft refrain,
just like an angry sky that brings a softly falling rain,
you fill my expectations, you fill all my needs,
my love for you keeps growing, just like sprouting seeds,
when I gaze upon your beauty, a drum beats in my heart,
then I hear the violins, softly playing their sweet part,
soon there is an opera, playing so devine,
all because of my love for you, oh sweet love of mine,
so walk up to my jukebox and put some money in,
you will hear the music, when my heart starts to spin,
it will play a love song, written about a love so true,
it will play forever, and it plays only for you.

Key to your song
Key to your song
~
There's a song playing on the keys to your dreams
a chord rings out while you sleep as beautiful as you are
the words wait to be sung aloud to a chorus as yet unheard
let me sing with you sometime, let me here you sing
the strings will play a melody that we both know
the sound of the music carried in the air while you breathe
is the softest most gentle touch to my soul
any sonnet carried to a symphony is graceful
listen to what you feel inside of your heart
upon every key which unlocks all you are
a note plays to entertain another dream
and here is your song playing again
just as when you slept safe in a dream
there's a song playing in my eyes as I look at you
beautiful love please let it be sung

A Melody In Eternity 4.29.2009
Without a new book to hold my mind and
focus my thoughts, I’m at a loose end to-
night; started singing my favourite songs
in intervals of thirds or sixes; delighted by
the vibration felt right through my being
I sometimes cry over the loss of song in
my life; I never dissolve into a song any-
more; still cherishing the melodies that
used to drive me to tears when I was
small – I SHALL become a song
A melody playing in eternity, my song shall
include all the notes from high soprano to
low bass, I shall feel the joy reverberate
through all of me until the only thing left
is the song - nothing else
Holds the same enchantment; to become
my favourite song, crying with the notes
of the sweetest melody, is my
favourite fantasy....

One Flight Down
One flight down
There's a song on low
And your mind just picked up on the sound
Now you know you're wrong
Because it drifts like smoke
And it's been there playing all along
Now you know
Now you know
The reeds and brass have been weaving
Leading into a single note
In this place
Where your arms unfold
Here at least you see your ancient face
Now you know
Now you know
The cadence rolls in broken
Plays it over and then goes
One flight down
There's a song on low
And it's been there playing all along
Now you know
Now you know

I Just Wanna Dance With You
I don't want to be the kind to hesitate
Be too shy
Wait too late
I don't care what they say other lovers do
I just wanna dance with you
I got a feeling that you have a heart like mine
So let it show
Let it shine
If we have a chance to make one heart of two
Then I just wanna dance with you
I wanna dance with you
Twirl you all around the floor
That's what they intended dancing for
I just wanna dance with you
I wanna dance with you
Hold you in my arms once more
That's what they invented dancing for
I just wanna dance with you
I caught you lookin' at me
When I looked at you
Yes I did
Ain't that true
You won't get embarrassed by the things I do
I just wanna dance with you
Oh the boys are playing softly
And the girls are too
So am I and so are you
If this was a movie we'd be right on cue
I just wanna dance with you
I wanna dance with you
Twirl you all around the floor
That's what they intended dancing for
I just wanna dance with you
I wanna dance with you
Hold you in my arms once more
That's what they invented dancing for
I just wanna dance with you
(break)
I wanna dance with you
Twirl you all around the floor
That's what they invented dancing for
I just wanna dance with you
I wanna dance with you
Hold you in my arms once more

Oh Yeah
(ferry)
Some expression in your eyes
Overtook me by surprise
Where was i how was i to know?
How can we drive to a movie show
When the music is here in my car
Theres a band playing on the radio
With a rhythm of rhyming guitars
They playing oh yeah on the radio
And so came to be our song
And so on through all summer long
Day and night drifting into love
Driving you home from a movie show
So in tune to the sounds in my car
Theres a band playing on the radio
With a rhythm of rhyming guitars
They playing oh yeah on the radio
Its some time since we said goodbye
And now we lead our separate lives
But where am i where can i go?
Driving alone to a movie show
So i turn to the sounds in my car
Theres a band playing on the radio
With a rhythm of rhyming guitars
Theres a band playing on the radio
And its drowning the sound of my tears
Theyre playing oh yeah on the radio

Peter Gunn's Gun
by Michael Leonard, Bobby Weinstein & Jon Stroll
Throw a penny from the window, watch an old man play a song
On a twenty-dollar violin he bought before the war,
Though he screeches and he scratches and the notes are always wrong,
But he plays like he's in concert on the street outside my door.
Tunes to suit your fancy,
Are there any requests?
I'll play them for a penny,
(Play them penny music, play them for a penny)
And not a penny less.
He's the local virtuoso, it's his only way of life,
Plays ninety-seven overtures and goes home to his wife,
In the quiet of the evening while his frozen fingers bleed,
He counts pennies on a blanket to supply his meager need.
Tunes to suit your fancy,
Are there any requests?
I'll play them for a penny,
(Play them penny music, play them for a penny)
And not a penny less.
When there's frost upon the pumpkin in the weakness of the sun,
People stand there in the cold until his symphony is done,
In the early gray of morning, he's sure to come around,
You can hear him through the window when the pennies hit the ground.
Tunes to suit your fancy,
Are there any requests?
I'll play them for a penny,
(Play them penny music, play them for a penny)
And not a penny less.
They're playing penny music,
Playing penny music,
They're playing penny music,
Playing penny music,
Playing penny music.

Refuse To Dance
Got your invitation to the dance
Wear your party dress
Maybe I was just an innocent
But I confess
I never even knew the song
The orchestra was playing
See the cuties in their party clothes
Oh it's getting warm
Off the shoulder cut into the hip
Like a uniform
Did you think I'd want to tow the line
Well now the line is broken
[Chorus]
Refuse to dance
Refuse to dance
Refuse to dance
Refuse to dance
You said you're such a pretty thing
You could make a mark
I'll teach you all the steps you'll need
Guide you through the dark
Suddenly I tought I knew the song
The orchestra was playing
[Repeat Chorus]
See how they follow
You say jump. They jump
You say turn. They turn
Look back in sorrow
I won't be there
[Repeat Chorus to fade]

I Dance Alone
I dance alone with the night,
the moon holding me close,
beneath the starlight.
My feet moving slow to every
sad song I know, playing over
and over, as alone I go.
The night embraces me and
the winds whisper sad
words to me.
I dance with the tears that fall
from my eyes, they help
me make it through the
lonely nights.
Sighs, I hear in the distance,
as I dance within darkness,
shadows move slowly, as
I miss your tender kiss.
One step, spinning around, breezes
capture my heart, as to the long
night I am bound.
Broken memories spilling on
the ground, as this heartache,
twirls me around.
Wrapped in the arms of the night,
this dance must go on, as without
you again, I dance alone.

One Of Those Love Songs
When youre far from me
Theres a melody that always brings me closer to you
Its our own symphony
Just for you and me
And I hope they play it real soon
Everytime I wish that we were dancing slow
Thats when I hear it playing on the radio
And I know
Chorus:
This is one of those love songs
That you hear in the middle of the night
Makes me wanna be with you
Wherever you are tonight
And whoevers listening just hold your lover tight
This is one of those love songs
One of those love songs
As days turn into years
Weve had our share of tears
But they never seem to last long
Cause the sadness disappeared
Everytime I hear our favorite love song
Now the candles burn as I lay here in my bed
As the molody keeps playing over and over in my head
Chorus
That you never want to end no
And you hope that the dj plays it again and again and again
Play it again and again and again
Chorus (2 times)

Do Not Just Sit There
we are here in this theater of life
choose your mask if you want one
take it if you need it
be in whatever form you like
ugly? you look ugly? cover it and then look
just fine
beautiful? are you beautiful? show it
in this theater of life
we are called upon to be ourselves
in whatever shape we take
cool? you want to be cool? then be cool.
shy? you want to be shy? then be shy.
now, let us take the dance floor
do not refuse my last offer
let us dance because the music is playing and
the band had taken a week for the rehearsing
hold my hand, follow my steps and do not look down
look at me and follow me
use the instinct of life
we shall now dance the last dance of life
the best dance ever
the sweetest ever
now that i have you and you are beside me
let me guide you
to the zest of life to the best of what life has to offer
this is the last dance
please do not be shy
please do not die.

Taxi Dancing
I think that its high time we had a talk
I think that were making a big mistake
Ive been feeling lately the magic is gone
Are we just together for convenience sake, baby
I dont believe it (feeling)
I dont think thats true (tied down)
Itll just pass if we allow it to (need to break free)
Its just a stage were going through (they say clean cuts)
I think youre just restless for something new (heal much faster)
Baby, feeling like we pay our dime
And all we get in return
Is a piece of each others time
Are we just taxi dancing
Lost somewhere in a slow dance for two
And the band that was playing
Has finally stopped playing our favorite song
Are we just taxi dancing
Youre paying for me and Im paying for you
And are we holding on to a feeling with desperation
Dont know if youre right
Dont know if youre wrong
Seems to me we havent danced for long
Dont make it hard (I wont)
Dont make it easy (hold you)
Well just walk away (if you)
At the end of the song (must go)
Baby, put one last nickel in the jukebox
Give that love we once felt
Just one final spin around
cause were just taxi dancing
Lost somewhere in a slow dance for two
And the band that was playing
Has finally stopped playing our favorite song
And were just dancing
And the band that was playing
Has finally stopped playing our favorite song
Are we just taxi dancing
Youre paying for me and Im paying for you
And are we holding on to each other in desperation

Here Comes That Song Again
(flood)
Here comes that song again
Theyre playing that song again
I guess it will never end
Theyre playing it again
Here comes that song again
Here comes that old ache again
The story of my life begins
Theyre telling it again
Ill have to leave
I cant bear it anymore
There must be a place where
Theyll play a different score
Here comes that song again
The jukebox must have found a friend
My heart will never mend
Theyre playing it again
Here comes that song again
The jukebox must have found a friend
My heart will never mend
Theyre playing it again

The Song
There is a song in my head.
It won't allow me to rest.
I still feel the melody playing in my breast.
The melody, the memory of your touch.
The harmony, the joy of my thighs and my lips,
As we welcomed you.
There is no music; I long for you,
Our dance and the movement of your hips.
The taste of you still lingers on the tip of my tongue.
We both sung this our beautiful song.
The senses have not forgotten you.
The song in my head, its like none I have heard.
It needs the music, that only you can play,
Gently on my back with your finger tips
Oh please give me peace.
Let us sing this song, I long for release.
There is a song in my head….

Heart Of My Own
I cant go near the scent of flowers.
I cant look at the sky.
I cant turn on the radio
And not cry.
I wont watch lovers holding hands
Or the sun sinking down.
I cant look at a single thing in this town.
You were playing a game and i,
I lost count of the days and the nights.
Do you know that you were my life?
Im tryin hard to find all thats left of me,
Now that you left me alone.
Tired of runnin away from your memory.
I need a heart of my own.
I have looked through every single book,
Torn through every poem,
Heard the words of every voice
That Ive known.
How can you have such a hold on me,
When youve already let go?
You must have more power than I know.
Woah.
You were playing a game and i,
I lost count of the days and the nights.
Oh, did you know that you were my life? !
Im tryin hard to find all thats left of me,
Now that you left me alone,
Im tired of runnin away from your memory.
I need a heart of my own.
You gave me heaven and showed me how to fly,
Then laughed when I fell from the sky, yeah!
[guitar interlude]
Tired of runnin away from your memory.
I need a heart of my own.
Im tryin hard to find all thats left of me,
Now that you left me alone,
Im tired of runnin away from your memory.
I need a heart of my own.

In Blue Hawaii
Tempting fate with you my love
flying high 'neath skies above,
over land and over sea
in blue Hawaii we soon will be.
If we say a fervent prayer
our faith in God should take us there,
to those palm-trees gently swaying
to golden shores where music's playing.
A sunset wedding there could be
a paradise... a fantasy,
just an Hawaiian wedding song
could live in memory all life long.
But, is this all a fairytale,
am I building castles in the air?
I am tempting fate my darling one
in blue Hawaii, in the sun.

Children Shadows
Into the wind children voices echo’s
From near and far
Laughter of joy
Having fun in a large meadow
Linking to a empty space
The first rising of the moonlit
Night
The images of children within
The moonlit night
Vision of children playing
Around the old, old oak
Tree..
In the first rising of the moonlit
Night,
Vision of children playing within
The realms of shadows run.
In and out of the moonlit night
The children softly, softly fades
Into the night..
