The Song Of The Siren
Oh, I am the siren, the siren of the sea,
The sea, the wondrous sea, that lies forevermore before;
I stand a fairy shape upon the shadow of a cliff
Where the water's drowsy ripple laps the phantom of a shore,
And, oh, so fair, so fair am I, I draw all hearts to me,
For I am the siren, the siren of the sea.
All the glory of my golden tresses gleams upon the air,
How it falls about my snowy shoulders, round and bare and white;
My lips are full of love as rounded grapes are full of wine,
And my eyes are large and languid, and full of dewy light;
Oh, I lure the idle landsmen many a league for love of me,
For I am the siren, the siren of the sea.
Sometimes they press so near that my breath is on their cheek,
And their eager hands can almost touch the glowing bowl I bear,
They can see the beaded froth, the ruby glitter of the wine,
Then I slip from their embraces like a breath of summer air;
Oh, I lightly, lightly glide away, they come no nigher me,
For I am the siren, the siren of the sea.
Sometimes I float along a-standing in a boat,
Before the ships becalmed, where dusky sailors stand,
And the helmsman drops his oar, and the lookout leaves his glass,
So I beckon them, and lure them, with the whiteness of my hand;
Oh, this the song I sing, well they listen unto me?
For I am the siren, the siren of the sea.
Would you from toil and labor flee,
Oh float ye out on this wonderful sea,
From islands of spice the zephyrs blow,
Swaying the galleys to and fro;
Silken sails and a balmy breeze
Shall waft you unto a perfect ease.
Fold your hands and rest, and rest,
The sun sails on from the east to the west,
The days will come, and the days will go,
What good can man for his labor show
In passionless peace, come float with me
Over the waves of this wonderful sea.
Would you forget, oh sorrowful soul,
Come and drink of this golden bowl,
With jewelled poppies about the rim,
Drink of the wine that flushes its brim,
And drown all your haunting memories there,
Your woe and your weary care.
Oh, I am the siren, the siren of the sea,
The sea, the wondrous sea, that lies forevermore before;
Oh, the mystic music ripples, how they break in rosy spray,
But the crystal wave will mock them, they will reach it
nevermore,
For it glides away, I glide away, they come no nigher me,
For I am the siren, the siren of the sea.

Siren
Siren, siren, calling me from the sea,
Spill the sweetness of your words and your voice—
Spill them with such lucid fluidity
That I sink in them without having choice.
Siren, siren, sing me into a lull,
Bewitch me with your charm and your danger—
An insatiable thirst I can't control
For adventures, your lure of grandeur.
Siren, siren, slipping through my fingers
Like a formless liquid, make me submit.
You move with an air that seems to linger,
Perfumed with pleasures that seem infinite.
Siren, siren, entice the sensation
Of love within my imagination.

What Siren-Song Arises
What siren-song arises
From the sweet silver bosom of the sea
By the three rocks?
No human eyes to watch
No human eyes to see
And yet
The elfin forms in dwindling shadows dance
And then
Of sudden the shadows grow
As in a trance.
What siren-song ariseth
From the weary sea, the funereal dirge
Of mariners lost and gone, perhaps?
What siren-song ariseth
This sad night, this endless seeming night
From the sweet silver bosom of the sea
By the three rocks?

Whalesong
As wondrous as the stars at night,
That shine so bright and strong,
The precious joy that brings delight
Is that the whale has song.
The siren of the sapphire seas,
With tunes so lyrical...
To me, these are the things that please,
With each a miracle...
Perhaps it tames the savage beast,
As one of God's celebs
That glides below from west to east
Mid music of the depths...
Perhaps not with another whale,
But there and all alone,
With love his only Holy Grail...
Or Philosopher's Stone...
Like happy humans humming tunes,
Like hummingbirds and such,
The lonesome whale's seen many moons
And dreams of love so much...
When whalesong's played, we listen close,
To each new siren call...
There's only one thing each whale knows,
In life, true love is all...

Airy you were
Airy you were in my dream, I felt you;
you had a bluish ribbon to twine,
my souls' ocean drops in cold truth,
the stars above ironically to shine;
.......................
I beckon; winds wave in worlds lost;
my glance to fair trails in home field,
a chorus of lost Angels foremost,
singing a monody of my soul's grief.
So there she talks; from far beyond,
the heights of glassy domes, of stars,
wishing - coins thrown in a pond,
a fantasy dreamer I am, behind bars.
Oceanic vastness, memories voiced,
- teary depths prohibited, I sail to only
caliginous, danger links of moist
foam on lips as my Siren smiles lonely
from darker faraway to care softly,
so as to touch my lips, singing a note,
a poem for my lone death to ghostly,
of irreversible Hades links that float.
.......................
Our steadfast sails to horizons gray,
the years we passed will there shine,
your low voice in the wind will betray
my soul's Siren song to end my twine..

Ulysses and the Siren
Siren. COME, worthy Greek! Ulysses, come,
Possess these shores with me:
The winds and seas are troublesome,
And here we may be free.
Here may we sit and view their toil
That travail in the deep,
And joy the day in mirth the while,
And spend the night in sleep.
Ulysses. Fair Nymph, if fame or honour were
To be attain'd with ease,
Then would I come and rest me there,
And leave such toils as these.
But here it dwells, and here must I
With danger seek it forth:
To spend the time luxuriously
Becomes not men of worth.
Siren. Ulysses, O be not deceived
With that unreal name;
This honour is a thing conceived,
And rests on others' fame:
Begotten only to molest
Our peace, and to beguile
The best thing of our life--our rest,
And give us up to toil.
Ulysses. Delicious Nymph, suppose there were
No honour nor report,
Yet manliness would scorn to wear
The time in idle sport:
For toil doth give a better touch
To make us feel our joy,
And ease finds tediousness as much
As labour yields annoy.
Siren. Then pleasure likewise seems the shore
Whereto tends all your toil,
Which you forgo to make it more,
And perish oft the while.
Who may disport them diversely
Find never tedious day,
And ease may have variety
As well as action may.
Ulysses. But natures of the noblest frame
These toils and dangers please;
And they take comfort in the same
As much as you in ease;
And with the thought of actions past
Are recreated still:
When Pleasure leaves a touch at last
To show that it was ill.
Siren. That doth Opinion only cause
That 's out of Custom bred,
Which makes us many other laws
Than ever Nature did.
No widows wail for our delights,
Our sports are without blood;
The world we see by warlike wights
Receives more hurt than good.
Ulysses. But yet the state of things require
These motions of unrest:
And these great Spirits of high desire
Seem born to turn them best:
To purge the mischiefs that increase
And all good order mar:
For oft we see a wicked peace
To be well changed for war.
Siren. Well, well, Ulysses, then I see
I shall not have thee here:
And therefore I will come to thee,
And take my fortune there.
I must be won, that cannot win,
Yet lost were I not won;
For beauty hath created been
T' undo, or be undone.

Sailor To A Siren
Long distance callin in the middle of a rainy night
So much static, hardly knew your voice
An youve been cryin, want me to love you like I did before
Girl when it comes to you, you know Ive got no choice
You put a storm inside me, I wanna head for a safer harbor
They all tell me I should give you up, but no man coulda tried any harder
Feels like an odyssey thats never gonna reach an end
Every time I hear you callin me, just wanna feel you in my arms again
Chorus:
Like a sailor to a siren, like a moth to a flame
I know your love might be the death for me, but I run to you just the same
Like a sailor to a siren, nothings gonna keep us apart
Crashin over the wreckage of all the sailors broken hearts
Musta met you when we were livin in another time
Had nothin but the jealous gods to point our way
When men were sailors and a woman was a rocky shore
Wailin like a siren leadin him astray
I got another woman and I know you got another man
They all tell me I should give you up, but I dont think that any mortal can
Feels like an odyssey thats never gonna reach an end
Every time I hear you callin to me, just wanna feel you in my arms again
Ichorus)
Gonna abandon ship, steal you from the cliff
Take you to a place where the gods cant find us no more
Let the sailors listen to the sirens if they dare
Gonna be dancin on the water, drownin in your yellow hair
(chorus repeats out)

Siren Song
[bairnson/musker]
Days go by
Adrift upon a rolling sky
The miracles escape my eyes
But I still hope
Time, regret
Is this as good as life can get?
Its only when the spirit sets me free I cope
If I seek in every corner
If I search in every doorway
When the water turns to wine will I believe?
If I navigate the river
Would you take me to your island?
Sing a siren song so I can never leave
Long and wide
Eternity from side to side
Lead me through the rapids
Guide me to the shore
Theres a place
Thats far beyond this time and space
When each of us comes face to face with something more
If I open up the channel
Will you send me information
If you tune me to your station, Ill receive
If I navigate the river
Would you take me to your island
Sing a siren song so I can never leave
Plans can fail
But only fail to understand
The pyramid will turn to sand and Ill be here
...i will be here

The Siren's Song
The Siren's Song
By: Adam M. Snow
Once upon a midnight wake,
A Siren sings, 'Sweet mercy sake'
Soothes the hearts O' gentle man,
In their yielding peaceful span.
Sirens cometh from the deep,
Cloaked in light the water sleep,
Claims the souls, lost to man,
Since the dawning life began.
Gathers victims from the shore,
Spoke the stories ancient lore,
Of beauty risen from the sea,
Captures souls without a plea.
Mesmerized them with her song,
And as the boat-head wound along,
Lighthouse glistens over tides,
Kiss her lips and she abides,
Kiss her twice, your souls no more,
And death awaits at your shore.

Shivering In The Dark
The lights are silenced....,
The shades are drawn...,
While waiting impatiently....,
For the dawn....,
I'm Shivering In The Dark...,
Lonely and scared....,
Shivering In The Dark...,
In the far distance...,
I hear a faint siren....,
Unlike the siren in my heart...,
Calling for you....,
While I'm shivering....,
Shivering In The Dark...,
Waiting, wondering, quivering...,
And Shivering In The Dark.

The Water's Edge
A clear lake, an eerie pool of misty white,
enchanted and enhanced by the moonlight,
with a shadowy silhouette of a weary wanderer,
enticed into a beautiful musical wonder,
simply captivated by a seductive siren’s song,
her crooning call stringing him along,
until he is by the water’s edge,
and to her, his soul, he does pledge,
snaring his encumbered essence,
with her alluring song and presence,
until the water surrounds his neck,
her arms around his shoulders, lips poised to peck,
an unrelenting inscape imbiber,
claiming his soul through sucking saliva,
leaving a hollow husk, an empty body,
floating in the lake waterlogged and soggy,
while his sodden soul sinks within the deep,
stolen by the siren to forever keep,
remembered only by hungry corpse fed fish,
that make echoing ripples upon the lake’s surface.

Run With The Wolf
In the light of day
You can hear the old ones say
Can you feel the change begin
By the fall of the show
A single soul will go
With foot steps on the white
Theres an unholy light
Theres a hole in the sky
Something evils passing by, whats to come
When the siren calls you go
To run with the wolf
When the world makes a turn
Then eyes of one will learn
That a sound just like the wind
Only makes the change begin
By the end of the rain
The feelings passed again
>from the things that shap and bite
An unholy light
Theres a break in the ground
Like the swirling waters
Angry as they pull you down
When the siren calls you go
To run with the wolf 2... times
Like a beast in the field
You know his fate is still
To run with the wolf
To run with the wolf
Seas that make you know its late now we go
To run, run, run, to run, run, run with the wolf
Run, run, run, run now we go

Fast thoughts
Siren
Rumble of traffic
Rustle of wind
Singing of birds
Noise of the tv
Cracking and creaking of conservatory
Own soft breathing
Tapping of pen
Rattle of paper
Thoughts
What will this time bring?
What is the phone rings?
Why can't I rid of this hung-over feeling?
What are they doing
And what is he thinking?
Should I feel guilty for sitting and sinking?
Should I be working?
For test that are lurking
What should I wear for work when I'm flirting?
Should I be flirting?
Working my shirt
And being their shine when I know that they hurt?
The sight of my phone
The look of my nails
The book in the background
The newspaper tails
The siren inside
The rumble of words
The rustle of fear
The screaming of thoughts
The need to be free
The cracking and tapping of anxiety
Own soft breathing
Tapping of pen
Rustle of paper
Thoughts
Feeling unhealthy
Fearing the stealthy
Working right now
To one day be wealthy
Making a million
Or giving up bread
The siren of nothing
So loud in my head
Should I get up
And make myself stand?
Make use of this book
This pen in my hand?
Instead I will sit
For a minute of two
And be glad that one day
I'll have nothing to do.

As Her Notes Glisten the Wind
As Her Notes Glisten the Wind
By: Adam M. Snow
Never again, will I wake my siren within
And let her sing a requiem tune.
Erasing the words until it is sung
As my life be dead by spoken croon.
Never again, her notes glisten the wind
But softly it reigns burden be my heart.
Her voice chill the air upon me
And by that dost my soul depart.
Quaintly I long for a foolish song
From the writer who sung mute.
The words like a pendulum above my chest
Hanging perfectly acute.
Never again, I bow my head to shame
My siren's voice dost be angels lips.
I am captivated by such hellish song
That left my world in eclipse.

Siren Song
Some sensed sweet siren calling
through airwaves from the West,
fleet song, treat neat, recalling
enchantment sung with zest,
wove subtle thread enthralling
to filter second best,
sent competition sprawling
wash waved away all rest.
All felt sweet siren calling.
Who that muse music heeded
were haunted by her flaunting.
She offered what they needed,
what they perceived was wanting,
with further wishes seeded.
Unequalled, fair and daunting -
all warnings went unheeded –
she led all onwards, taunting,
as Fate’s dire doom was speeded.
Some for her bounty fulsome,
some for fair beauty rare,
from town and county bosom
all rushed, – one grace to share.
One face shone forth there, twosome
to each vowed all, see their
wander-lost souls succumb
few for advice could care,
enthralled by beauty’s blossom.
All who tuned in conceded
the need for greater needs,
each sought her breast then kneeded,
full flesh for milk which feeds
the senses which proceeded
to mirage that misleads.
Each goal, when reached, receded -
rich promise proved dry weeds –
all by day dreams impeded..
Each eye was sparkling beady
with private visions wide, -
those visions soon turned seedy,
anticipations died.
For siren mistress greedy
to vanity replied,
the piper pied tone reedy
led on to mirage bride
who, wanton, doom supplied
to tongue-tied mortals needy.
Soon swan song turned to siren -
harsh, strident, echo high -
trust blown by gust, fell silent,
fell dread high hopes belied,
bell toxin tocsin iron
turned tone, tolled, told denied,
while with disaster’s eye on
their lust her will would lie.
Soon swan song spurned by siren.
To ashes urned ambition
swift turned – west, north, south, east –
too fast vast blast’s ignition
burned both proud man, loth beast: -
no pardon, no remission,
was granted, not the least,
upon decomposition
few shall remain to feast...
So ends this composition
temptation's tune released.

Venice
IN domes of dim and ancient gold,
In cloisters, where the lightning plays,
Where gleam the gorgeous saints of old
In aisles of jade and chrysoprase,
In halls that wave like waving water,
Still moves the voice of Ocean's daughter.
Venice ! What siren music then
Stirred on the shoals and shallow sea,
When that small band of wandering men
First in their dreams imagined thee,
And hung thy lyric splendour high
Between the water and the sky!
What Triton strains in other days
Were heard, when, on a sea of flame,
Thy battlefleet swung through the haze,
And homeward in her glory came,
Bearing the beauty of the East
To make Thy happy saint a feast.
Now, though that sceptre-hand be cold,
Those argent argosies no more
Their Tyrian-tinted wings unfold
From Cyprus unto Elsinore;
With broken sword, and banner furled,
How dies the Siren of the world?
The cloud has lifted from the stars,
And now again the starlight falls;
Now Venus calls again to Mars,
And Bacchus reels about his halls
And, lovely in a thousand forms,
Our Lady drifts above the storms.
Among the moonlit marble lace,
That wreathes this avenue forlorn,
Some God has made his dwelling place
And takes his manna from the morn;
And every young and wandering soul,
That passes here, must pay its toll.
Far off the city fades away,
Save where one tow'r of rosy light,
Like some dissolving shaft of day,
Pierces the bosom of the night:
The distant lightning breaks its shroud:
Valhalla gleams beyond the cloud.
Alone we float through gulfs remote,
The black canal no longer seen;
My boat it is a fairy boat,
Above the ripple silver-green,
Upon the wavelet violet-crowned,
My boat and I are outward bound!
