The Muted Cry by Dr, Bhupen Hazarika (Translated from Assamese)
Can you hear the muted cry of the silent millions longing for freedom?
Can you see the light of renewed courage spanning the horizon?
How much did you gain and how much did you lose
If you did not count, it matters but little
Here comes your time, the Day of Reckoning
No reason to be scared, just speak the way you feel
Morning lies concealed
In the bosom of the Darkest Hour
Closed doors forever fear
The power of Free Air
Each dropp of the ocean now
Has turned into a mighty tide
Overflowing the ocean banks
And everything in its path
The fervent cry of hope
Echoing in every heart
Has reached every corner
Of this limitless universe
March ever onward,
As rapidly as you can
Stop not for a second,
(There's) nothing thereby to gain
Destroy with your might
The destructive evil force
In this war for peace,
There is nothing, at all, to lose
Morning lies concealed
In the bosom of the Darkest Hour
The jackals are forever scared
Of the lions mighty roar
Can you hear the muted cry of the silent millions longing for freedom?
Can you see the light of renewed courage spanning the horizon?

I Hear The Echo by Dr. Bhupen Hazarika (Translated from Assamese)
I hear the echo
I hear the echo
I hear the echo
I hear the echo
Of the screaming night
Carried over from the other side
Of the mountain bodering my village
I hear the echo
I train my ears but can't hear a thing
I open my eyes wide but can't see a thing
I close my eyes and think, but do not understand
I don't know how to climb a thousand mountains
I hear the echo of the screaming night
I hear the echo
May be its the tragic story of a young girl
May be its grandma's bedtime fairy tale
May be its the longing of a farmer's nursery
The tragic story of the young girl has come to an end
The bed time fairy tale of grandma has come to an end
The longings of the farmer's nursery has come to an end
The familiar song still escapes me
I hear the echo of the new cry
I hear the echo
My dark hair get tinted with morning's red hues
The panicky mist before the eyes vanishes to the blue
A thousand cries come out of a people awakened
A thousand mountains crumble in the impact of its sound
I hear an approaching storm in the sea of humanity
I hear the echo of the new cry
I hear the echo...

Voices Cryin Out
Voices cryin out, voices cryin out
Voices cryin out in the night hear them call
Voices cryin out hear them call
Its a night
Like no other night
Its a day
Almost turning grey
Its a heart
Like a broken heart
Its a wheel
At the end of day
Its the plight
Of a boy whos scared
Of the waves rushing out
And the wind in the air
Its the sight
Of one longing to taste
Of life
Voices crying out in the night hear them call
Voices from some foreign shore
Visions that seem an incredible dream
Echoing for more
Voices crying out in the night hear them call
Voices crying out hear them call
Its a song
Of a love unsung
Its the pain
Of just being young
Its a cry
Of a voice unheard
Of a face
Speaking silent words
Its the hope
That the time goes by
Take you upon a wing
Teach your soul to fly
Its a wish
That youll live your experience life
Voices crying out in the night hear them call
Voices from some foreign shore
Vision that seem an incredible dream
Echoing for more
Voices crying out in the night hear them call
Voices crying out hear them call
Oh do you know how it feels to be free
Walking your path of life
Embracing destiny one day at a time
Voices cryin out...oh cant you hear them
Voices cryin out...listen please, listen to the future
Voices cryin out...millions and millions and millions of voices
Voices cryin out...oh oh oh oh
Voices crying out in the night hear them call
Voices from some foreign shore
Vision that seem an incredible dream
Echoing for more
Voices crying out in the night hear them call
Voices crying out hear them call
Voices crying out in the night hear them call
Voices from some foreign shore
Vision that seem an incredible dream
Echoing for more
Voices cryin out
Voices cryin out
Voices cryin out...

Tuna In The Brine
I fondle keys to my heart when everyone's heart
Seems so calm
And you found the lock
To my dorm and opened the door to my trust
Fundand#8230;. my vestry
The light in my darkest hour is fear
Denies me of anything good soooand#8230;and#8230;.
Don't lose your heart you'll need it
You'll have to take another pill and tell another lie
And lie amongst your lies like tuna in the brine.
Take everything that you're not and don't be so
Scared to tamper (temper) with (temper) "tampered with" evidence (tamper)
Coz you'll come along for the sun if you come at all
To lose your heart you'll have to take

Freedom Lies
Freedom, theres more to your life so now[? ]
Old laws, man has made only blind.
Oh, give us freedom, a call to the brave and the strong,
To stand in the face of all wrong and show the way.
Freedom lies, freedom lies, freedom lies.
Freedom to live out the dream in a song,
Give hope to the hearts of the young.
Oh, give us freedom to act out of love and not fear,
So all that is true will be clear.
Hear tomorrow, calling hold me, show me.
Freedom lies, freedom lies, freedom lies.
Freedom lies, freedom lies, freedom lies.

Ripples in April 9,2012
‘April is the cruellest month, breeding
Lilacs out of the dead land, mixing
Memory and desire, stirring
Dull roots with spring rain‘ -(Waste Land)
...
Prosaic spring night; droplets of carbon monoxide
Paint brazen leaves with dark shades of truth.
Rumbling doomsday drums stun to silence
The monotony of treachery.
Fires, fangs rule our reasons as spring gasp for breath.
Welcome change from the hypocrisy of sunshine
Peddled by the wizards of fertility; hoax and lies mixed with vomit.
I drink my night under the corrugated iron shade; and sleep
Comfortably dead.

Peace Like A River
My peace is like a river
Winding slowly to the sea
My heart is deeper than the ocean
Filled with love He gave to me
Oh love that knows no ending
Rise up and set me free
I shall sail forever on this ocean
Forever, ever closer unto thee
Fill my sails oh precious Jesus
Wind of the Spirit propel me on
Over seas of tranquil beauty
To the horizon and beyond
I have sailed through stormy waters
When all my days had turned to night
I have sailed though windless days
Often tempted, tired, and no more fight
Sometimes the sun it seems to set
And we fight the rising tide
Of fear and darkness and regret
Yet thou art always by my side
So sail on my heart, to journey's end
Sail on into the night
And neither wind nor rain nor stormy seas
Shall diminish the morning light

Stepping out of the shadows..
Stepping out of the shadows to feel the warmth of the light.
To come to an understanding of leaving a lose/lose situation,
and yet feel victorious.
The heart slowing down... thoughts are getting focused. To only
understand the true love I have is called freedom.
The freedom to walk around without stumbling.
The freedom to feel the wind in my face.
The freedom to think about my short past, and my long future.
The freedom to enjoy my life with a view of clarity.
The freedom to count the milage on my long motorcycle rides.
The freedom to count on my friends and never fear.
The freedom to understand some peoples mistakes.
The freedom to walk away and never worry.
Into the light I walk..a new vision.. a new life.

And Then You Wanted To Go And Leave Me Here
you come like a shadow creeping beside the twilight of my life
i wake up at dusk and hear the faint sound of hope and there
you are dressed in morning light shining upon the drapes of
my room where the windows are tightly lipped in silence
we talk like the wind getting inside a leak of my wall and we
whisper what we know from the beginning, about love and how
some of it lay broken on the road of mishaps and how some
wounds begin to know how to heal themselves and pretend that
a scar is beautiful and shiny upon a skin that knows how to forget.
i smell the skin of freedom spreading on your bosom and i touch
the scent of your hair and i begin to know what life is all about until
you know the real hour for leaving, the sunset calls you and then you
hear the song of the sea, and then you wear upon your shoulder the
wings of the seagull. You leave me and i am like a window waiting
for the white sail from the ocean its shadow getting smaller from the
horizon. And then the moon rises up with the stars lighting the darkness.

Four Oclock In The Morning
4 oclock in the morning
When the ambulance arrived
4 oclock in the morning
When the ambulance arrived
The blue lights were flashing
As they lay my baby down inside
They took her to the hospital
In the darkest hour of the night
They took her to the hospital
In the darkest hour of the night
It was silent as the grave
As my baby lay beneath the light
They turned on the gas and cut her open
She didnt feel no pain
They turned on the gas and cut her open
She didnt feel no more pain
Daylight was breaking
And down came the rain
Down came the rain
Down came the rain
Down came the rain
Down came the rain

Rongmon the Fisherman by Dr. Bhupen Hazarika (Translated from Assamese)
That morning
Rongmon the Fisherman
Went fishing
On his wobbly little boat
'Please don't go fishing!
Please don't go fishing!
Look, there comes the storm
O Rongmon, listen,
The river is swarming
With crocodiles
Thirsting for blood'
But towards the evening
In middle of the river
He disappeared 'thout a trace
Beating her bosom
Look'in at heaven
(Rohdoi) gave out a heart piercing wail
‘Go, you waves, take flight
I'll find my way through the night
My Rongmon must be brought home'
Lying on the beach
Brought by the waves
Atlast, She found her Man...

Table Bay [2]
I can hear the waves roar,
slamming shingle on the rocks, the beach
drawing in and out
on Bloubergstrand
and the cadence is a age old shuddering
of waves breaking, continuing like before
and in the distance Table Bay
lies stretched out specked with
hundreds of little lights
like a enormous crown
with the flat mountain top
on display, etched against the night sky
and its full tide, the moon is full
yellow and magnificent
and the place of good hope,
lies on the shore
with waves breaking forever more
and lonely the beach stretches out before me,
in a long white ribbon
and the dark water goes out to the horizon,
almost as far as I can see
and the sea wind is fresh and new
and there's no light in sight
on the wavering ocean
just a darkness that envelopes me
as the waves
are throwing pebbles out
and drawing them in
before breaking on the beach
and there's nobody to be true to,
nobody to trust, only the reality of the here and now
and all hope, all promises, all joy and pain
remains the same
swept in and out of a confused world
forever breaking, forever rushing in.

If You Could See Me Now
Here they come
Every night the same
Silent stars
Light from a distant flame
Just like the memories of you
That I hold inside
I see you touch
But all the warmth has died
Empty rooms
Crowded by the past
Time is my enemy
Days keep moving faster
But the nights alone can be
An eternity
That never heals the scars
Of foolish pride
If only you could see me now
Goodbye is not so easy now
The freedom that I walked away to gain
Is nothing but these chains
That you alone can break
And you would free me now
Your heart would come undone
Just looking at me once
And my love would bring you back
If only you could see me now
Here I am
Stranger to a smile
Trying to fight the tears
Missing by a mile
I'm not the one who laughed at you
On that yesterday
When you warned me not to throw your love away
If you could only see me now
Goodbye is not so easy now
The freedom that I walked away to gain
Is nothing but these chains
I know your heart would break
If you could hear me now
Your heart would come undone
If you could hear me once
Hoping love will bring you back
If only you could see me now
[Bridge]
Like the lonely moon
You see above
That sails the dark alone
Forever
I have no light of my own
Other the love we've known
So long ago
Together
If you could feel me now
Your heart would come undone
If you could touch me once
I know love will bring you back
If only you could see me now

The Light of Christ In The Present Darkness
As the world becomes much darker, we have one hope that's brighter,
And as this world sinks even lower, our hope above is even higher,
Many people alive today look to a world body for the hope it brings,
And there is a darker man of deception who is waiting in the wings.
He's coming with a plan for peace while promising many other things,
But, through his false deceptive peace he will destroy many beings.
So as the days do get darker, we must indeed shine forth our light,
For the very day that we are raptured, will become the darkest night.
The needed Light for this darkness is The Light of Christ my friend,
He's the only Hope for the entire world as it spins towards the end.
After Christ left the earth He sent The Spirit with power and might,
For its The Holy Spirit within us who helps us send forth His Light.
For God gave us not a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of His power,
And that my friend should encourage us in the darkness of this hour.
But many Christians allow the world to put a basket over their light,
When the time it is really needed, is in the darkness of the night.
All through David's darkest trials, he joyfully lifted up The Lord,
Even in his darkest hour with true repentance his light was restored.
With the day almost over, like King David, we can say in the night,
You are my lamp, O LORD; for the LORD turns my darkness into light.

The New Life of Us....
I wish courage is a sweet candy…
The sweet you will like…
The things I can buy everywhere…
Not the fear you have to confront..
Not the doubt you have within…
I am here begging you to look inside…
For there is a lot of courage there…
That you’ve tried to put aside…
Every time there is no flare…
That brings hope to your side…
I wish I could convince you…
There is life in every movement…
There is power in every change…
There is joy in every sadness….
And there is courage in every fear…
I wish I could tell you…
All courage starting from within..
To let go of certainties…
And begin to wander on the impossibility…
That brings courage to live…
I wish I could embrace your trembling heart…
With fire from an eternal courage…
It will make all your weary nights fade away…
The best way out is always through the line of this fire…
I wish I could hold your hands…
Put it gently in mine….
And whisper to you for one more time…
Hope is the language understood by the hurting heart…
Hope shines brighter than the brightest star during the darkest night…
To take a hand and hold on tight to your hope and courage…
It is the beginning of a healing…
Trust your heart is much stronger than any steel…
And may the healing power be the flowers of your garden…
And Hope be the corona of the sun…
That shine upon to welcome a new morning of your life…
My dear friend, be friend with your fear…
Let the fear guide you to find your own courage…
The time to start is now…
The place to start is here…
When life challenge you the most….
May hope cast its special light upon your path…
Bless everything you touch in every moment….
And courage stand beside you all the time…
With its sweet flavor like a candy in a store…
And I simply shed tears for one times more….
For our victory will be waiting at the front door…
New life will be waiting for us like a beautiful seashore….
And my dear friend, it’ll be something about you I adore….

Another Huge Earthquake
Another huge Earthquake in Java and thousands are missing and dead
Just one angry outburst of Nature leaving millions of people in dread
Of another mighty earth tremor the fear it is real and widespread
Of the destructive power of our Earth Mother so much has been written and said,
Another huge Earthquake to talk of the anger of Nature no human structure can hope to withstand
Once great buildings left in huge piles of rubble as if they were castles of sand
Built by children on the beach at low tide that at high tide were washed out to sea
So great is the power of our Earth Mother and not one as mighty as she,
All of life lives off of Mother Nature and of her power we are aware
And though Nature can kill thousands of people Mother Nature is never unfair
People come and go like the Seasons but Nature she lives on and on
And she will be around forever though all present life forms may be gone
But she will create new life forms and Nature is forever more
And the stream from the hill will flow down to the river that flows to the great ocean shore.

past a centuries live, thousands and millions of
different races, from the mountainous ranges to the
splendid nature landscape that curtain the virgin forest
as the wild animals of the jungle lives with high sea, facing
the magnificent horizon of majestic beauty of creation, comes
the birth of the continent of Asia, the endless treasure of man's
dream of living in the most luxury paradise of blessing and a land
with full of earthly blessing

wandering seashore of promises amongst Conqueror and

with different shield to defend the mighty power with
no fear, the hope to survive, forwarding only the strength
of the heart, where the soul lies the sting of death, never been

to live, beyond the blood of any fear amongst nation of warrior of fighters
to hold until death comes in the most waited

hills and river, down to the great sea pads of the high sea,
unified to stand and defend the given land; a gift beyond gift

Unknown Soldier
Soldier, here I stand and wonder, thinking of the distant thunder,
Of the cannons that once shook the very dirt beneath your feet,
Fire that split the sky above you, turning red what once had been blue,
What a war you were thrust into! Not a moments peace to keep!
Soldier brave your heart must be here! How elusive simple sleep!
Fighting; no reward you'll reap!
When the enemy was coming, through the smoke and mist was running,
And the early morning hour concealed the sun upon its throne,
There when darkest felt your spirit, there your visage fell, to hear it,
To hear the stamp of horse; and fear it, as ear you lay upon the stone!
Nameless soldier! How your radiant face with courage there hath shown!
Shall the battle ere' be done?
Soldier, who will know your valor? How that, never did you cower,
While the bayonet was stabbing and mad bullets pierced the air!
None will know the fateful story of your patriotic glory,
For your body saw a gory death, and nature showed no care.
Hence the war will be remembered yet forget its heroes fair,
Unknown soldiers, don't despair!

Bones in the desert
Where pilgrims seek the Prophet's tomb
Across the Arabian waste,
Upon the ever-shifting sands,
A fearful path is traced.
Far up to the horizon's verge,
The traveller sees it rise, --
The line of ghastly bones that bleach
Beneath those burning skies.
Across it, tempest and simoom
The desert sands have strewed,
But still that line of spectral white
Forever is renewed.
For while along that burning track,
The caravans move on,
Still do the way-worn pilgrims fall,
Ere yet the shrine be won.
There the tired camel lays him down
And shuts his gentle eyes;
And there the fiery rider droops,
Toward Mecca looks and dies.
They fall unheeded from the ranks: --
On sweeps the endless train,
But there, to mark the desert path,
Their whitening bones remain.
And thus I read the mournful tale,
Upon the traveller's page,
I thought how like the march of life
Is this sad pilgrimage.
For every heart hath some fair dream,
Some object unattained,
And far off in the distance lies
Some Mecca to be gained.
But beauty, manhood, love and power
Go in their morning down,
And longing eyes and outstretched arms,
Tell of the goal unwon.
The mighty caravan of life
Above their dust may sweep,
Nor shout, nor trampling feet shall break
The rest of those who sleep.
Oh! fountains that I have not reached,
That gush far off e'en now,
When shall I quench my spirit's thirst
Where your sweet waters flow.
Oh! Mecca of my life-long dreams,
Cloud palaces that rise
In that far distance, pierced by hope,
When will ye greet mine eyes.
The shadows lengthen toward the East
From the declining sun,
And the pilgrim, as ye still recede,
Sighs for the journey done.
