The Keeper Of The Beast And Chestnut

Little fingers rattle the cage of the mysterious union of boy and dog
A dog filled with an empty stomach but full of ringworms
My new dog, whom I urged to pet, but was scolded - he might bite
My dog covered with filth like the chimney smoke of silt, released in the Industrial Age refineries
Whose sad bark translated to: I’m a water-dog, purify me! Purify my soul!
That water being an angel brushing off the graining tombstone of what once was
My dog, a polished broad pup, sloppily wet but content
Whose coat was itchy but clean from concentrated dish detergent
Who was wondering of his new surroundings,
and strange new noises to bark loudly at, in the night
Whose vet trips and vitamins pumped him to an enormous size
Whose runs in the yard became Indian midget trails
My dog, the dumb one, who would see-saw with me
Who would slide down the sliding board, like a rambunctious child, head first
Who loved to bite through things except my arm, shoved into his jaws, as a test he always passed
Whose claws were raptor sharp, and provided the dirt digging ability to escape into neighbor’s plots
My dog, who outweighed me by fifty pounds and made sure strangers knew this before they reached the front step
My dog, black haired, a thick virgin forest of midnight, streaming and shedding in the summer time
Whose lapping pink fleshed tongue in such a hot day, would yearn for his bucket of water
Whose chest muscles were defined like the promontory coastlines of North and South Carolina
Who understood that I would eventually come home after grade school, pleased to be in his presence too
My dog, the chain snapper, the car chaser, the wood eater, the newly layered sod displacer
My dog with flaws, disobedient like me, unwilling to take orders
My dog, prone to be whacked with the paper on his rump, the thud of a beefy drum smacked on an indifferent animal
My dog, a friend, never capable of backstabbing for a percentage
My dog, who lived with me, then sent to live on a farm, I know had even I better life than I could give him

When ego is fed…

Someone would remember me:
My stomach goes full.
Someone would be grateful to me:
My stomach goes full.
Someone would broadcast of me:
My stomach goes full.
Someone would long for me:
My stomach goes full.
Whenever ego gets food,
The stomach is fed without food.

Don't Bite Your Nail, Dame!

Whenever you bite your
Nail of your little finger,

However thy look and beauty
May increase,

All the dirt underneath thy fingers
Drains into thy stomach

E.coli enters in;
Amoebiasis you might get,

Your health will be spoiled,
Don't bite your nail, Dame!

Outside

They took away
my money and bag
took away my
house and land
lay me on the sand.

I am here
near ganga
and in empty stomach.
I am here
near mahodadhi
and in empty stomach.
I am here
looking Nilachakra
alldays always
in empty stomach.

They snatch away
may language
They thrown me out
from the sky
they are my nearby.

who is there
outside my house
where is my earth
where is my worth.

~~~I want to cry~~~~
I want to cry
Why he scolded me
I want to cry
I am sad
Why?
Why my boss scolded me
I treat my patients very compassionately
I feel relieved when they get better
I am very obedient to my work
I am sad
I want to cry
I am obedient to my profession
My teachers
My mom
Why they scolded me
I am not towards commercial medicine
The scolded me not doing “investigations”
I never do unnecessary investigations
But, he insulted my teachers
I am sad
I want to cry
Please my eyes don’t cry
I want to cry
The Contemplative...
an empty platter left
in the yard of green grass
filled with the songs of birds
as breakfast
to blend with the lyrics
of an
empty mind
an empty
stomach
those idle hands
and these
numb arms
the tranquil soil
begins to say those
prayers
Shake Me And I Rattle
I was driving to work
when I heard this curious rattle.
For the life of me,
I couldn’t figure it out
where the rattle was coming from.
Every pothole that I hit the rattle was loud,
but on a smooth road, there was no rattle at all.
Finally, I parked the car and got out
and the rattle continued like before.
It didn’t take me long to realise
just where the rattle was coming from.
I was the one who was rattling
from all the pills I’m on.
So the next time we meet,
shake me gently
because I rattle a little bit.
Win A Prize
Run the race and win a prize,
For the food is for the stomach and the stomach is for food;
But i will live on always to see you grow.
Slow, glow, blow, flow;
That which was empty is now full,
But he who joins himself to a prostitute is in one body with her.
16 Shells From A 30-06
Words and music by tom waits
Plugged 16 shells from a thirty-aught-six
And the black crow flew through
A hole in the sky
And I spent all my buttons on an old pack mule
And I made me a ladder ftom a pawn shop marimba
And I leaned it up against a dandelion tree
Leaned it up against a dandelion tree
Leaned it up against a dandelion tree
Well I cooked them feathers on the iron spit
And I filled me a sachel full of old pig corn
And I beat me a billy from an old french horn
And kicked that mule to the top of the tree
Kicked that mule to the top of the tree
Blew me a hole bout the size of a kickdrum
And I cut me a switch from a long branch elbow
Im gonna whittle you into kindlin
Black crow 16 shells from a thirty-aught-six
Whittle you into kindlin
Black crow 16 shells from a thirty-aught-six
Well I slept in the hotter of a dry creek bed
And I tore out the buckets from a red corvette
Tore out the buckets from a red corvette
Lionel, dave and the butcher made three
You got to meet me by the knuckles of the skinny bone tree
With the strings of a washburn
Stretched like a clothesline
You know me and that mule scrambled right through the hole
Me and that mule scrambled right through the hole
Im gonna whittle you into kindlin
Black crow 16 shells ftom a thirty-aught-six
Whittle you into kindlin
Black crow 16 shells from a thirty-aught-six
Now I hold him prisoner in a washburn jail
And I strapped it on the back of my old kick mule
Strapped it on the back of my old kick mule
Bang on the strings just to drive him crazy
And I strum it toud just to rattle his cage
Strum it loud just to rattle his cage
Strum it loud just to rattle his cage
Strum it loud just to rattle his cage
Im gonna whittle you into kindlin
Black crow 16 shells from a thirty-aught-six
Whittle you into kindlin
Black crow 16 shells from a thirty-aught-six
Empty With Dynamics
Empty with dynamics.
And delivered to suggest,
There would be something to digest.
Something coming to equal the solicitation...
With the assistance of pictures,
And vacuous videos to plant excitement.
To increase one's taste for more.
At least something to chew on...
That would get to the core.
But when the lights were not subdued...
The presentation bored!
Filled to the brim,
And thin!
Too lean.
There was nothing between the anticipation...
And what was actually discovered to be suitable.
Not to address the appetites,
Of the surrounding on scene.
Althoug the build up was great!
But a meatless meal...
Does not leave an appreciation left to salivate.
Empty with dynamics!
And an exite done with a stomach ache.
'You referring to the meal?
The speaker?
The decorations?
Or what? '
I am talking about the whole process.
The 'or what' had more bite to it!
But I will say this...
The costuming of the event,
Was fantastic.
Regardless of the lack of substance,
To go with it!
Empty Pages
(graham russell)
When youre out in front and your life is unsure
What have you got goin for you after every road you turn
Its magic when you tell me and run your fingers through my hair
I dont need your persuasion, cos Im already there
Ive just read it through and I said to myself
Thats not really you, Ill keep myself to myself
Its magic when you tell me, and write the words I want to see
When I reach the last line, its just empty for me
Ive been learning so long, about the things you do
Ive been learning so long about you, about you
(chorus)
Empty pages Ive read you all through
Empty pages filled with spaces I fell in and I fell in
Empty pages Ive read you all through
Empty pages filled with spaces I fell in and I fell in.
Full Moon And Empty Arms
Full moon and empty arms
The moon is there for us to share
But where are you?
A night like this could weave a memory
And every kiss could start a dream for two
Full moon and empty arms
Tonight I'll use the magic moon to wish upon
And next full moon if my one wish comes true
My empty arms will be filled with you.
Like that
Was it being empty of everything
or being full of everything,
when the song came during washing-up?
Was it being empty of everything
or being full of everything,
when the tourist outside the school door
glanced as if expecting nothing but the good?
Was it being empty of everything
or being full of everything,
when there was nowhere else but here?
Was it being empty of everything
or being full of everything
when there was no when or where
or why or what or how or who?
Who is to say? It was like that. Like that.
I Ran Away
One, two, three... Will... (drum intro)
I ran away from you
Thats all I ever do
And though I started here
I ran away from you
Im gonna come on in
And see it through
I ran away from you
Thats all I ever do
And when I heard you call
Come back to me
I know I should stay
I dont have the stomach to
Everyone I know says
Im a fool to mess with you
Everyone I know says
its a stupid thing to do
I have your love on call
And yet my day is so full
There might be nothing left to do
So I ran away from you
Im gonna come on in
My eyes are closed
I can feel it there
The suns so close
Im gonna come on out
And burn the sky
A star arose in my own cage
Im stuck in life and in a cage
Just a single star
I sing for
Everyone I know
says Im a fool mess with you
Everyone I know
says its a stupid thing to do
I have your love on call
And yet my day is so full
And I did not know what to do
So I ran away from you
The Craving Of The Flesh
when i write this
i am full, my stomach bloats
i am holding something
inside me
with all restraintand if i do not follow
the law of
expulsion
i may die of this
poison
i must empty
what is here inside
to make me feel well
there is poetry in my head
poetry in my stomach
soon
if i keep them and not let them
go out
i may die
and so here i am
noting this metaphor of expulsion
to let you know
that i cannot stop writing
for health reasons and not
for anything else
