Jambo - Hakuna Matata
Jambo, jambo bwana - jambo, jambo bwana, hakuna matata.
Jambo, jambo bwana - have a good time, enjoy the samba.
Jambo, jambo bwana - you are welcome, hakuna matata.
Jambo, jambo bwana - have a good time, enjoy the samba.
Jambo, jambo bwana - take it easy, hakuna matata.
Can you hear the drum beat? hakuna matata.
Can you hear the singing? hakuna matata.
Can you see the dancing? hakuna matata.
If you want romancing. hakuna matata.
Jambo, jambo bwana - jambo, jambo bwana, hakuna matata.
Jambo, jambo bwana - have a good time, enjoy the samba.
The scent of the sweet chacaranda, its nirwana, hakuna matata.
Jambo, jambo bwana - have a good time, enjoy the samba.
Jambo, jambo bwana - take it easy, hakuna matata.
Can you hear the drum beat? hakuna matata.
Can you hear the singing? hakuna matata.
See them dancing. hakuna matata. and romancing. hakuna matata.
Jambo, jambo bwana - jambo, jambo bwana, hakuna matata.
Jambo, jambo bwana - have a good time, enjoy the samba.
Jambo, jambo bwana - take it easy, hakuna matata.

Bwana She No Home
Dont you ever invite your boyfriend here
I like to be here alone
You just answer the door and feed the deer
And fight the telephone
Got to learn these words and I know you will
Or Ill send you right back to guayaquil
Say bwana she no home, say bwana she no home
Say bwana she no home, say bwana she no home
Got to peel your eyes for the heat my dear
You got to froth and foam
Got to send away the mad puppeteer
Who seems to think this is home
I want you to speak the english right
I want you to smile and be polite
Say bwana she no home, say bwana she no home
Say bwana she no home, say bwana she no home
I dont care if you drive my 350 honey
Dont letem steal my chrome
I dont care if you spend all my money honey
Long as you leave me alone
I just want you to try and remember one thing
If somebody knocks or the telephone rings
Say bwana she no home, say bwana she no home
Say bwana she no home, say bwana she no home

Bwana
Written by lindsey buckingham.
The night brings the stranger,
The jungle cries for more.
The natives in the villages,
The visitor at the door.
We all have our demons,
And sometimes they escape.
But bwana is the visitor,
In control of your own fate.
Bwana, bwana, bwana,
Bwana, bwana, bwana
The night brings on strangers,
The jungle cries for more.
The natives in the villages,
The visitor at the door.

Mum and Dad the world's getting mad
and I am a wild child's proof
of walls sacred turned down
with no writing left to inspect
a jambo jet flee
that fled from me
I woke up as an insect
just to tell you I'm fine
and that quite soon
together will dine
this Kafka weather is really nice
the evening breakfast is instantly served
the food's eatable and at no price
I'm worried you're too easily nerved
so write to me soon
if you need a spoon

Theme for World Lit
The instructor said,
Go home and write
A page tonight.
And let that page come out of you—
Then, it will be true.
Write about culture
She said
About heritage
About home
About you.
But who am I?
Is this where I'm supposed to figure it out?
What is my culture?
I am Africa
And oceans I've flown across
I am beaches I've walked on
Mountains I've climbed
And cultures I've spoken to
Then theirs became mine
I learned how to say "en cha Allah"
And "jambo"
And to see the simple things for their pleasures
I wear clothes made in China because virtually everything is
Is that American?
I laugh with my friends like all teenagers do
No matter where in the world they come from
I speak Colorado
We don't have an accent
I read
Because it's intoxicating
I eat French fries, Chinese food, Mexican and Italian
I guess because it's American
I'm lucky enough to live near the mountains
I'm lucky enough
I'm from America or Ireland or France
Or that's what Dad says
I've never been there
My culture is a smoothie
Everything I am turned on high and served in a chilled glass on a beach somewhere
With a little paper umbrella and a straw
This page is mine.
I let it come out of me
Is it true?

Weep Day
I never went to the tropical island
Though everybody said they saw me there
And it wasnt me you punched a hole in
At the west german protest march
Simultaneous events dont happen
We are isolated temporally
And a part is never called the whole thing
Though it bothers us to know its so
Every man is made of two opinions
Every woman has a second half
And its samba time for tambo and weep day for urine man (samba time for tambo and weep day for urine man)
Yes, its samba time for tambo and weep day for urine man (samba time for tambo and weep day for urine man)
I didnt write the words you hear me singing (didnt write the words you hear me singing)
I didnt sing the line before this one (didnt sing the line before this one)
You are not the one I was addressing (you are not the one I was addressing)
That person took a train to africa (africa)
Where he met the consulate from belgium
Who is now a buddhist in a cave
Who is pitching for the oakland raiders
Striking out the batter she became
Every man is made of two opinions
Every woman has a second half
And its samba time for tambo and weep day for urine man (samba time for tambo and weep day for urine man)
Yes, its samba time for tambo and weep day for urine man (samba time for tambo and weep day for urine man)
Yes, its samba time for tambo and weep day for urine man (samba time for tambo and weep day for urine man)
Weep day for urine man (weep day for urine man)
Weep day for urine man (weep day for urine man)
Weep day for urine man (weep day for urine man)
Weep day weep day
Weep day weep day
Weep day weep day
Weep (weep) weep (weep) weep (weep) weep (weep)

Unfortunate Thing
Breaking out of school
Aint really fooling no one
I was sure Id get my reward in time
Backing uo the street
With the smell of sweet sensation
Didnt want to be another dime
Hidden in the pocket
Of some unfortunate nation
Didnt have no money, sure didnt have the time
Chorus:
Unfortunate thing, such an unfortunate thing
Unfortunate thing, such an unfortunate thing
But I fought with nothing
But I fought with nothing
Laughing at the rumor
That youve been screwing someone
Laugh better cry
It could be your turn next time
Brother what a lover beyond the fourth dimesion
Hes got an ego
Thats bigger than yours and mine
(chorus)
Dont call me bwana
Let it settle in your heart
We move from children
Into a business counterpart
Your head was shaking as I walked into the room
A spirit breaking
Thats why I feel this way
Breaking out of school
Aint really fooling no one
I was sure Id get my reward in time
Backing up a street
With a smell of sweet sensation
Didnt want to be another dime
(chorus)

Downtown Samba
This ones called
Now for you
Downtown samba
Canal streets where we dance
We do the rhumba, samba
The citys hot, were almost naked
Its a scandal
Nights still young
We do the samba with the congo warrior
Downtown samba (2x)
Hey you over there
You shouldnt dance alone
Watch me come on closer
Cause I am the one
To dance with you
All night long
Im dancing like a mambo
Go go go for sambo
Dancing, dancing, dancing
Tango
Over there, mister
Come see, youll see
So dance the tango, tango

Samba Loco
Bah-pooh-bah-pooh, bop...
Bah-doodo.
Bah-pooh-bah-pooh, bop...
Bah-doodo.
Bah-pooh-bah-pooh, bop...
Bah-doodo.
Aaaaahhhh...
Aaaaahhhh,
Samba loco, baby.
I'm a samba dancing nut!
I love that Latin beat so much...
And the strutting done when I do my stuff.
Samba loco, baby.
I'm a samba dancing nut!
I love that Latin beat so much...
And the strutting done when I do my stuff.
I've got to groove my middle.
Swivel hips and tease.
I've got to be that swift foot hero,
With a rhythm felt that heats...
Everything that sways the beat.
Samba loco, baby.
Bah-dada.
I want to feverize the streets.
With a rhumba samba shown,
Grooving easily.
Bah-pooh-bah-pooh, bop...
Bah-doodo.
Bah-pooh-bah-pooh, bop...
Bah-doodo.
Bah-pooh-bah-pooh, bop...
Bah-doodo.
Aaaaahhhh...
Aaaaahhhh,
Samba loco, baby.
I'm a samba dancing nut!
I love that Latin beat so much...
And the strutting done when I do my stuff.
Samba loco, baby.
Bah-dada.
Feverize-the-streets.
Ba h-dada
With a rum-ba number samba shown.
And a groove that's easily to reach.
Samba loco, baby.
Bah-dada.
Feverize-the-streets.
Ba h-dada
With a rum-ba number samba shown.
And a groove that's easily to reach.

Desperation Samba
Desperation samba (halloween in tijuana)
By: jimmy buffett, will jennings, timothy b. schmit
1985
This song brings to mind two things. first, an image of robert mitchum
Standing in the doorway of a bar in tijuana, and second, a line by
Thomas mcguane, my brother-in-law, from his book, panama,
"the night wrote a check the morning couldn't cash."
- used by permission of author
Halloween in tijuana
Full moon in my eyes
I wonder how in the hell i got here
Without a disguise
Should i take this last step
Or turn myself around
Or follow my intuition into that border town
Yo quiero a bailar en mexico [i want to dance in mexico]
We do the desperation samba con nos amigos [...with our friends]
Yo quiero a bailar en mexico
We do the desperation samba con nos amigos
Pretty girls they beckon
From their rooms above
Skeletons are dancing
In the name of love
Don't know where i'm goin'
I don't like where i've been
There may be no exit
But hell i'm going in
Yo quiero a bailar en mexico
We do the desperation samba con nos amigos
Yo quiero a bailar en mexico
We do the desperation samba con nos amigos
I hear the people singing that same old haunting tune
I drink because i know it's me against the moon
Yo quiero a bailar en mexico
We do the desperation samba con nos amigos
Yo quiero a bailar en mexico
We do the desperation samba con nos amigos
-- spoken:
"tss, tss tss"
"hey, psst amigo!"
Ooh ooh ooh ooh
Ooh ooh ooh ooh
Yo quiero a bailar en mexico
We do the desperation samba con nos amigos
Yo quiero a bailar en mexico
We do the desperation samba con nos amigos
- notes:
Background vocals: timothy b. schmit, harry stinson
Featuring reggie young on gut string guitar and
Harrison ford on the bullwhip

Chicago Samba
I live in chicago
A very windy city
But tonight I will dance the Chicago samba
Once again
But when I dance the chicago blues
I sweat like crazy
And I feel like a kid again
But when I hear the chicago samba being played by the local musiciams
In the streets of chicago I get very excited
Because I know that their music cam be heard also from faraway
And bring me back memories of home

The Devotion Given To Our Disciplines
You,
Are a dancer.
Dancing is what you do.
I write,
But enjoy dancing.
You,
Are an architect.
That is what you do.
I write,
But enjoy architecture.
You,
Are a photographer.
And you exhibit this.
I write,
But enjoy taking pictures.
You,
Sing.
Like no one I've heard.
I write,
But enjoy singing.
And,
The devotion given to our disciplines,
Has given us a purpose to define.
Our destinies.
However,
I can not demand you spend time with me.
If I am respecting how you spend your time.
If we are respecting with admiration,
Of one another's gifts.
There is an obvious difference of applied,
Concentration.
We must be left to do what we do,
To do it until it is done.
With a lesser time given to schedule visitations.
Somewhere.
Somehow.
And why?
We became married and attached to our crafts.

I hope you enjoy your time away
I hope you enjoy your time away
Those awesome times,
Those lovely days
I hope you enjoy your time away
I hope you enjoy your time away
When you come back
I’ll probably have turned gay (with Shaun: S?)
I hope you enjoy your time away
I hope you enjoy your time away
With family and friends
What more can I say
I hope you enjoy your time away

Enjoy Yourself
Written: stock aitken waterman
Intro:
Enjoy it, enjoy it
1:
Never let life
Get you down
When your head is spinning
Feet wont touch the ground
For in this world
The good time you cant plan
Youd better take your chances while you can
Chorus:
Dont wait til tomorrow
When you should be living today
Enjoy it, enjoy it
Before too long its too late
Dont throw the good times away
Enjoy it, enjoy it (repeat)
2:
Dont break up
Inside
When everythings too much
Dont run and hide
For nothing comes to those who will not try
You may just as well have kissed
Your dreams goodbye
Chorus:
3:
For nothing comes to those who hesitate
Grab your dreams before it gets too late
Chorus:
(repeat & fade)

Dancing The Samba With You
mas que nada
desafinado
vou te cantar
garota de ipaneman
corcovado
sausalito
samba de uma nota 56
berimbau
aguas de Marco
o pato
a fedicidade
chega de saudade
o barquinto
flor de lis
maracangatha
mancada
maracangalha
agua de beber
yes we are in this party together
there is nothing to be refused
nothing to be ashamed of
we are still this official couple
you in your spanish gown
and i am in my decent coat and tie
what do we have to lose if we pretend
a little tonight about a love diminished
with time and the boredom that wraps us
i will hold your hand and keep you close to me
you breathe the unnecessary explanation
as i smile like a man of the usual confidences
now my dear, we shall dance the samba

Misconception
Hmm I just called to hear your voice
Can’t hear what you’re saying (because) you’re drowned by the background noise
What? Huh? I can’t hear you speak up a little louder
Damn! Can you hear me now? Is that better?
I called to confess feelings of love for you
But as time goes by our words became few
Now you ain’t saying nothing
Got me here wondering if I’m annoying
Hey I’m out so I guess this is good-bye
No baby way u going or why…
Hmmm all you said was ‘Alright’
I mean what am I suppose to do
Afterwards, then send me a text ‘love you’
I guess that makes everything crystal blue
‘Lost in time, time in you’
We all need our spaces
Trying to figure out all these phases
It’s too much my memory can’t take this
Sitting here trying to erase shit
Misconception is what I’m speaking about
Can’t say what I think can’t think what I’ll do
I’m here clustered with doubts
I mean ‘love you’ that’s all you can say beau
Now my thoughts are going in a different direction
Making sentence from these words compilation
Hoping for no misinterpretations
Looking for misconceptions so I can make my corrections
I called to have a good time
Enjoy the feeling that you are mine
It didn’t happen so I’ll take my leave I hope I wasn’t annoying you
I left because I wasn’t getting what I wanted out of you
Enjoy your day … and oh yeah I love you to.

What It Is They Do
Some folks enjoy doing things.
While other folks 'are' what they enjoy doing!
Some folks enjoy cooking.
And then there are cooks.
Some folks enjoy singing.
And then there are those who sing.
Some folks enjoy writing.
I know I do,
And I've been told I am a writer.
Some folks have no problem,
Producing what they do.
And others will say they don't have the time.
Although they waste it telling folks,
What it is they do...
And yet nothing of that,
Ever gets done!
