Summer Melanoma

In her sun.
Soon, a bronze Adonis - ogling girls!
It must be done!

I rolled over; bared a snowy skin
To bake and burn and sear beneath a din
Of ultraviolet rays…

Now I'm on the ward, I count the days to
Lesser pain, torrential rain; accepting
I'm a fool to be so vain!

I bore an awful mole, you see -
A growth, a blighted entity
Presenting as an ugly melanoma!

Got my first real six-string,
Bought it at the five + Dime,
Played it till my fingers bled,
Was the summer of 69.
Me and some guys from school,
had a band and we tried real hard,
Jimmy quit and Joey got married,
Should'a known it would never get far.
When I look back then,
The summers seem to last forever,
And if I had the choice,

Those were the best days of my life.

Mercury is rising still
Turn the fan on high
I wont step on my own shadow

Someone put a pox on me

Circle search and there are candles

Oh! Winter

Oh! winter I request thee please come back
To err is human cut me some slack
For what happened between us started as a lover's spat
And I was more than willing to work on that.
Then you became too cold and I almost froze
I needed warmth hence spring I chose.

Spring and me was this one time thing
It meant nothing, it was a stupid little fling
I was thinking about you the whole time I swear
Your absence is killing me, the grief is too much to bear.

You were fantastic, marvelous and cool
Still I went for spring I was a fool
It lured me with its flowery tranquil gait
But now I know its tricks, albeit a bit too late.

Spring left me high and dry to sulk in this summer
Its horrible and sweaty and life is a bummer
My world is barren no poetry or prose in soul
Angels left with spring and the devil summer is taking its toll
