Some like Bob; Others, Elvis
Some like Bob; others, Elvis.
He never has a problem deciding; he loved both.
They are in his memory great American heroes,
Of his America. He’s happy here, and keeps
In his heart the happiness from years ago of getting an American visa.
Both musicians are the sweetness of his soul, a gift from God.
Thanks to them, he had had many joyful moments here.
Both artists are icons of America. With out them, America
Would be much poorer, just as he would be without it.
Adam Lizakowski
Elvis the king and Bob the muse, they are his masters of music and song.
So very human and imperfect, smeared with the mud of everydayness,
With problems of this world on their backs, they are America’s capital
Of which he gladly makes use. For him they are symbols
Of America changing for the better. Road signs leading to
A childish naïveté, that things will be better and that one must
Write about this, sing about this, that one must believe strongly in this.
Bob and Elvis, two falls, two volcanoes of his life, instilled in him forever
The fire of fascination with America. A fire that does not destroy,
That does not burn, that does not make ashes of everything, but cleanses.
It cures and burns out that which is weak and not worth little,
Ennobling in a man the best things,
From which we are made.
Yes, yes, some like Bob and others, Elvis, and he loves both,
However, they are different from each other as a king from a muse.
Bob; Others, Elvis

Velvet Elvis
My life, it used to be incomplete
till I saw what I was looking for at a drive-in swap meet
My life it wont be the same again
Now Im proud to say the king lives on inside my den
Oh, its all I live for, its all I need
My velvet elvis
My velvet elvis
My velvet elvis means the world to me
Although he may not be worth much dough
He means much more to me than some old rembrandt or van gogh
Check out those sideburns, theres nothing greater
You can tell that hes no velvet elvis imitator
Oh, its all I live for, its all I need
My velvet elvis
My velvet elvis
My velvet elvis
Oh, now you cant you see
My velvet elvis
My velvet elvis
My velvet elvis means the world to me
In my own private graceland
In my own little shrine to the king
I dont want nothin else
No, I dont need anything
Dont need no lava lamp
Dont need no soap on a rope
No pictures of mexican kids with those really big eyes
Or dogs playing poker
When Im at home watching my tv
I know the king is always looking down on me
He looks so handsome, he stands so tall
So glad hes big enough to cover up that hole in the wall
(velvet elvis) hes so fuzzy
(velvet elvis) hes so great
(velvet elvis) never ages
(velvet elvis) never puts on weight
(velvet elvis) look at those rhinestones
(velvet elvis) hes just so fine
(velvet elvis) you can look but dont touch now
(velvet elvis) cause hes mine all mine

America
(Francis Scott Key)
Oh, say, can you see
By the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed
At the twilight's last gleaming
Whose broad stripes and bright stars
Through the perilous fight
O'er the ramparts we watched were so
Gallantly streaming?
America, America, America
America, America, America
And the rocket's red glare
The bombs bursting in air
Gave proof through the night
That our flag was still there
Oh, say, does that star
Spangled banner yet wave
Over the land of the free
And the home of the brave!
America, America, America
America, America, America
America, America, America
America, America, America
America, America, America
America, America
ooohhh

The bonneville salt flats had seen some strange things
But the strangest thing yet was a jet without wings
Once as a jet it played in the stars
But now on the ground its the king of our cars
Spirit of america
Spirit of america
Spirit of america
Spirit of america
An airplane an auto now famous worldwide
The spirit of america, the name on the side
The man who would drive her craig breedlove by name
A daring young man played a dangerous game
Spirit of america
Spirit of america
Spirit of america
Spirit of america
With a j-47, a jet for his power
Craig breedlove had averaged four-o-seven per hour
Both man and machine had given fair warn
Theyd set a new record on that warm august morn.

Elvis, Be True
Everyones talking bout elvis
cause it seems like the thing that we do
Elvis is walking around listlessly
Seems he cant even die if he wanted to
Its a bad business to be in
You dont get thanked and you dont get paid
Its a hard world to be in with
And to end with, and to think about leaving behind
Exhuming the body in memphis
Waiting five hours to get into graceland
Is this anybodys idea of a good time or a good joke?
Airport biographies are usually true
Fame and fortune took its toll
Hes not the king of rock and roll anymore
Hes just a junkie redneck
Pull the sheet over your head
Fold your arms across your chest
Lie back in bed, you can call folks constantly tomorrow
Ohhh, everyones talking bout elvis
cause it seems like a thing that we do
Elvis is living too fat and slow now
To care what we say about him
Picking up hitchhiking elvises
Christening babies at the foot of his grave
He was watching tv and laughing to himself
Just had to tell someone how he did it
Elvis, be good to me
Elvis, be true
Elvis, I love you
Elvis, be true
Elvis, be near me
Elvis, be mine
Elvis, come back to me
Please, elvis, be fine
Everythings coming up roses
Everythings coming up elvis
Everythings coming up roses
Everythings coming up elvis

America Is Not... Is
America is something far greater
beyond the borders of the united states
America is not made of rock land or sea
America is not the country
we were fooled into
mistaking it to be
America is not a monger of war
not a preacher of nationalism
America does not exploit
the weaknesses of humanity
America has never been
represented accurately
or depicted properly
by those career manipulators
America is not a place
where one man can reject
the presence of another
America is raw unearthed potential
freedom truth beauty equality!
America resides in the heart and mind
America is home of the human spirit
America is a dream of potential earth utopia
America is something we all cherish and long for
America, its time we redefine ourselves
rethink our concept of who we are.

Bigger Than Elvis
Come, lets talk just you & me
For once just let me be.
The little boy you used to know.
Relive that summers bliss.
Cause they came no more like this.
Those were the days,
The days when love was still in style.
All I ever dreamed Id be
Is what you are to me.
Bigger than elvis.
And for all the missing years,
A memory reappears.
Bigger than elvis.
I saw you on tv.
The king, you were to me.
Could you feel me watching you?
At times my heart got mad,
Only heros are allowed
To run free, that they could come back inside of me.
All I ever dreamed Id be,
Is what you are to me.
Bigger than elvis.
And for all the missing years,
A memory reappears.
Bigger than elvis.
We know the sadness of goodbyes
Must be the one thats bringing tears to your childs eyes.
Oh, from now on Ill walk with you
Making music like you do.
Would you believe I always knew?
You were never hard to take
In some mysterious way
Bigger than elvis
And for all the missing years
Your memory reappears
Bigger than elvis.
Now Ive found the missing years,
Forgotten all my tears.
Ive found the missing years.

Missing eighteen hours
Losing oxygen to the brain
Lyin on the floor
Theres a limit
How much more I can take
Rhinestone inside my shoe
Coz Im turning into you now

Hidden camera, two way mirror walls
Walkie talkie, kung fu
Then the president calls

America
Walkin' 2 the corner of Main Street, USA
Look at the good people, hear what they gotta say-uh-huh
All right
See a sexy girl with her long black hair
See a preacher man sporting Abercrombie wear-uh-huh
All right
Walk into a corner store
A man says, "This is what I'm fighting for"
[CHORUS]
We are living in America
We're giving in America
We're tripping in America
Everywhere I go, seems like Bush is on TV
We shed blood in the name of liberty-uh-huh
All right
The circus tents are dead, but the sideshow is doing well
The Osbournes and Anna Nicole are too freaky 2 tell-uh-huh
All right
Take the bad with the good
I wanna change it, but I wouldn't leave it if I could
We are trying in America
We're spying in America
Getting high in America
We are laughing in America
We're crying in America
We're dying in America
We are trucking in America
We are f**king in America
We are lucky in America
We are breaking ground in America
Just another town in America
We are breaking down in America
Take the bad with the good
I wanna change it, but I wouldn't leave it if I could
[CHORUS]
We are trying in America
We're spying in America
We're getting high in America
We are getting tan in America
We love Spam in America
Polanski's banned from America
10 million served in America
Have u heard in America?
We're crying in America
We're laughing in America
We're living in America

America
My daddy told me about the old glory days
But I made up my mind about Daddy's ways
We followed King to Atlanta and got the slaves all free
And the ladies come out from behind the fans of gentry
America
America
How you've broken free
America
America
Was your destiny
I was at Daddy's bedside the night that he went
He whispered real sad "the south won't rise again"
They've all gone to Chicago to lose the slow accent
Leaving me behind wondering where we went
America
America
Are you losing your mind
America
America
Don't leave me behind

I Write America (Revision)
I write America
in order to form a perfect union
assuming there is a union at all
and not just some Texas mama's boy
standing off to the side
watching it fall
for the strong
for the weak
and for those who refuse to speak
I hurt on their behalf
and for them
I write America.
I write America
the beautiful
conquered from sea to shining sea
known now only for the names
who 'discovered' it
Christopher Columbus and Amerigo Vespucci
who failed to realize
there were already people here
I always wondered
how you could discover something
that's already been discovered
for credit where credit is due
I write America.
I would continue to write America
but America responds only to threats
so instead I just watch America
I watch slices of the American Pie
devoured left and right
but all across the board
the skin tone in invariably white
I am the property of a nation
built on the countries it has conquered
and a heritage it will never own
until the day the American dream includes me
I just watch America.

Hey Elvis
Hey elvis wont cha come back home
I left a message on your code-a-phone
I tried to reach ya but I cant get through
Hey elvis where the hell are you?
Somebody saw you at the shopping mall
Somebody said they heard that southern draw
Hey elvis is it really true
Were all waitin for a sign from you
Everybody knows about your pink cadilac
Everybodys wonderin when youre comin back
Everbodys waitin just to hear ya sing
Hey elvis, youre still the king
Hey elvis wont cha come back soon
Nobodys rockin in the jungle room
Come december dont know what well do
Be a blue christmas without you
Everybody knows about your pink cadilac
Everybodys wonderin when youre comin back
Everbodys waitin just to hear ya sing
Hey elvis, youre still the king
Love me tender - dont be cruel
Return to sender - stuck on you
Its now or never - suspicious minds
Hey elvis arent ya lonesome tonight
Hey elvis cant ya see
They need you back in memphis, tennessee
Theyre makin records but theres nothin new
Nobody ever done it quite like you
Everybody knows about your pink cadilac
Everybodys wonderin when youre comin back
Everbodys waitin just to hear ya sing
Hey elvis, youre still the king
Everybody knows about your lisa marie
Everybody knows about tcb

Don't Tear America Down!
Those who thinks America is finished;
Think again. Feeling dismayed that
You are not leaping ahead like before?
It is not only in America; worldwide, indeed.
America is not finished; it will be there,
Even in the dark hours of economic meltdown.
America will be there, for Americans are
Too proud, too strong willed to let
Their country go to pieces.
As their motto says:
'O Say Can You See! '
And, 'God Bless America,
Land That They Love! '
Americans truly loves America.
So, think not of a doom America
Think of a America of renewed hope,
Renewed love, and renewed faith,
For, if unbetold to you before,
God really loves America

Somewhere In America
J. spinks
Just play the game and throw the dice
You might not win but you cant lose tonight
Just watch this fairy tale unfold
You wont believe all the things youve been told
Young or old
Somewhere in america
Somewhere in america tonight
Another town another place
Another name but you dont know the face
A joker deals and makes the rules
A game of chance a game that was made for fools
Like me and you
Somewhere in america
Somewhere in america tonight
Tonight
Dont wave a flag unless its white
Dont make a noise unless youre prepared to fight
Wrong or right
Somewhere in america
Somewhere in america tonight
Somewhere in america
Somewhere in america tonight

In America
Only in America
We're slaves to be free
Only in America we kill the unborn
To make ends meet
Only in America
Sexuality is democracy
Only in America we stamp our god
"In God We Trust"
What is right or wrong
I don't know who to believe in
My soul sings a different song
In America
What is right or wrong
I don't know who to believe in
My soul sings a different song
In America

Elvis Aaron Presley
Elvis was lucky... He deserved to be lucky...
And somehow I think we were lucky, too...
So many songs, so many shows, films, articles...
So many good things to remember him for...
So many beautiful, handsome photos of years gone by...
So many happy-go-lucky smiles and, in time, so many tears...
But when our tears subside... all that should be left is joy...
This is how I wish to remember Elvis...
For me, there could be no other way...
To know him, was to love him... to thank God for him...
He had a love of life... he revelled in its twists and turns...
This love made him want to sing and to dance...
He loved Gospel music and the hope and the peace it gave...
He wasn't ashamed of the Gospel of Christ...
God's blessings were there, if you only looked for them...
But the greatest blessing is in the sharing of blessings...
It is this sharing that is the greatest legacy of Elvis...
Not only was he a son, he was a star...
Not only was he a gentleman, he was a king...
Not only was he a friend, he gave of himself...
Not only was he a seeker, he was a preacher...
Not only was he a singer, he was the voice...
Not only was he a dancer, he was the dance...
Not only was he an actor, he was the story...
Not only was he a performer, he was the event...
Not only will he be missed, he will be forever loved...
You see, God only made one Elvis...
And then He blessed him...

Why Hate America
.There are so any reason to hate America.
I cannot count them all.
You can hate America because.
There is no King or Queen to bow down too.
You can hate America because.
You can travel from sea to shining sea freely
while traveling you can watch the amber waves
of grain.
As they slow dance and sway to music of God's
gentle breath as it passes over them.
You can hate America because.
There is no guard standing at the gates of
freedom to keep you out.
You can hate America because.
There one man rights to stand alone is just
as great as one man rights to stand with many.
You can hate America because.
No matter what you believe in or faith.
There rights are creatived and handed down
by God, and not governments.
You can hate America because.
America does not close it mind to shut out
freedom of thoughts.
You can hate America because.
Opportunity stands outside everyone door
and knock.
All they have to do is open up and it will walk in.
The list could go on and on.
But I choose to let it end here.
America you are the sweetest thing to me.
It is because of you.
That they have the right to hate you.
Without the fear of repression.

Atomic Insanity Bomb
America, we're drained of enthusiasm for you
America, why this meaningless war?
America, you are no longer beautiful
America, when will you see the light?
When will you call peace and dance and sing
When will you look in the mirror
and see the menace you have become?
When will you read the philosophies of God
that say Thou Shalt Not Kill?
America, when will you open your eyes?
America, why do you dye the shores red?
Why are the guns loaded with skulls?
Why do you leave your brothers behind
To charge bull-like at a cloth too large for you?
America, why are you putting a gun to your head?
America, stop killing me I'm not
Innocent, not Guilty
AMERICA STOP PUSHING!
America don't liberate me I'm already independent.
America I refuse to give up my rights
I refuse to give up others' rights
America don't reject your own
America the HATE is growing
They're rising up growing
America, let the prisoners go
The scholars of war in peace in hate in freedom
The Ginsbergs and Kerouacs and Dickesons and Whitmans
Of generations past
Free the ones whose philosophies peace it together
America your war is at home
America what is your motto?
Mission is not accomplished
It has just started.
America you have life to give,
not take away.
America, you deserve this war
America, my love for you is gone
America, monster, stop your screaming slashing rage
Look into your past
America LEARN from your mistakes
America, make it continue
AMERICA MAKE IT STOP

Viceroy Sonata
I am the king called Viceroy
And in my ship I sail the Red Sea
All the way to North America because I want to see the other world
That the people call the American dream
But I know that is not easy to migrate to North America
Because if you want to stay you will need to apply for a green card
And you will be a gringo for the rest of your life
But I don't have any plans to live in North America
But my plans is just to visit North America and that is all
Because I am a jew and I belong in Telaviv that is my birth place
