She Stood Dressed In Green

She stood dressed in green
Twinkling bells of light, bright, dark green
And the soulful singers fluttered around
Voicing songs of joy and happiness
Then suddenly she shook me
Stark in her nakedness
Shorn of her green dress
The songsters disappeared
Was she part of Femen
Was she a member of an aggrieved party
Was this deliberate
This shedding, this unclothing
Or was this seasonal
Or inflicted
Maybe her beauty awed them
Maybe they wanted to punish her
Maybe this was her protest
Maybe she was in subjugation
Standing on the balcony of the fourth floor
I could look her in the eye
But she smiled slyly
A little sarcastically
And I was dumb.

In Lavender And Green

Will you come to me in lavender and green?
With bells about your feet,
And music in your step,
When you come to me in lavender and green.

Will you come to me in lavender and green?
With sunshine in your eyes,
And springtime in your hair,
When you come to me in lavender and green.

Will you come to me in lavender and green?
With softness in your words,
And healing in your touch,
When you come to me in lavender and green.

Will you come to me in lavender and green?
With your name upon my lips,
And delight within your kiss,
When you come to me in lavender and green.

Will you come to me in lavender and green,
In dreams at midnight’s rest,
Or afternoon’s recline?
Come then to me in lavender and green.

Will you come to me in lavender and green,
At the setting of the sun,
When my days are nearly run?
Still come to me in lavender and green?

Will you come to me in lavender and green,
If I wait at heaven’s door,
As I waited once before,
While you walked to organ’s tune,
On a summer’s afternoon.
Now dressed in springtime hues?
My love, companion, muse,
A vision still I see,
Dressed in lavender and green.

Monroe Louisiana

On the green, green farm
In green, green Monroe Louisiana
So green, green
Wet-luscious green and alive
So green after the rain
So bright green and clean
Just passing through
On my way to tomorrow
But so green today and yesterday
It was on that stranger's green, green farm
And I didn't stay long
And I didn't expect someone
To fire that shotgun right next to me
The barrel pointed out the front door
Into that green, green world beyond.
There were hot springs
On the green, green farm
In green, green Monroe Louisiana
Back in 1973.

The Wedding Gown Of The Spring Is More Fair (Rondel Prime)

The wedding gown of the spring is more fair
than the stark nakedness that winter does bring,
when many trees do their bright garments wear
and day and night birds do rejoicing sing,

while insects buzz and flutter in the air
and happiness is in everything living.
The wedding gown of the spring is more fair
than the stark nakedness that winter does bring,

than the silence that is cold and bare,
when some birds do frolic, to and thro wing
their way and gladness is in their flying
until the sun's late afternoon red glare.
The wedding gown of the spring is more fair
than the stark nakedness that winter does bring.

Green, Green, and More Green

There is green everywhere,
even in peoples' hair.Some
on hands, some on shirts.
There is green everywhere!

Green, green, and more green.
I think I'm going crazy over green.
If you don't wear green you get pinched,
then you'll start to itch.
So many people are obsessed with green.
Green Spring, green air.Green feet, green wheat, green meat.
Green isn't very neat!

The Rim Of Green

Green panties, green roses
green tits, green milk.
Green moon, posies in green.
green eyes, green full lips
green face, cheese, green..
Green around the rim,
green limes can but erupt...?

The Greens Of These Trees These Leaves

THE GREENS OF THESE TREES THESE LEAVES

The greens of these trees these leaves
The many shades of green-
Olive green and deep dark green and yellow green
And greens I see but have no name for-
So many shades of light and beauty in green
And I with my eyes loving them all
And delighted and made happy by them all-

Wondering why and how God's world
Has so so much Beauty
Just in green alone -
And being deep in happiness
At being alive
And loving them more
In regretting why and how
I will not one day soon
be able to see them again.

And we will call it Britain

Crisp green the stems of daffodils
That brave in spring cold sun
Soft tender green the hawthorn buds
Unfurled with winter done
Bright green the fresh leaves on the limes
That verdant branches lace
Dark green the lily’s slender shoot
That moist earth, piercing breaks

But greenest of all that is green
An island Earth did make
And we will call it Britain
Natures green estate

Colors to Notice

While on morning walk today,
Thought emerges to describe the color
Of Mumbai sky, but can’t get the correct word:
It is aluminum-like, light gray,
Same wherever on the entire irregular patch
Of sky in Bandra, I am allowed to see through
Hedged in by trees, buildings and roofs.

As the eyes sweep down, the colors
Around me attract: green, blue,
Black, yellow, red BEST bus, the objects reflecting
There is no end to my counting:
In green alone I can see
Seventeen different shades.
Once I start enjoying the difference
Between one green and another
Luxuriant, shiny or dark,
Light-green, or parrot or bluish green
Or green seen against sunlight from below
Or with sunlight falling on the green leaves, -
In between remembering the sea-green incorruptible
Of Carlyle in his French Revolution
Or Lady Macbeth’s seas before becoming
Incarnadined -
Greens stretch unending in mind, and around,
Till suddenly the purple morning glory in front
Mocks me: while the special dark pink, above
Of bougainvillea blushes silently at stupid man
Who shows off his reading to Nature,
And makes up by waving and dancing gently.

Colors of Life and Nature are around me
Anywhere anytime:
I love them, including
Different black shadows in the dark.

Green

You opened the door,
I let myself in.
Between you and me,
I only believe
What I want to believe.
I guess its because im
Greener than green.
Only because Im green.
(repeat 2x)
I came up to your floor
You were dressed just a little
Obscene.
And it shut me down
Quite sexually
Like a pre-adolescent
Becuase Im greener than green.
Only because greener then green.
Only because Im green.

Lightgreen

Wolstencroft they called the guard,
big he was, a tub of lard.
Stood before the Pearly Gate
guarding heavenly estate.

Came St. Peter, checked ID,
said it simply cannot be
that a man who is not white
could come in, it was not right.

God was asked about his view,
he replied 'The sky is blue,
it is not your bloomin' race
or your black and ugly face.

It's the name, you could be green,
brownish like a Pinto Bean,
you would see that at this gate
we do not discriminate.'

Adds St. Peter 'We ain't mean,
but if someone who looks green
wants to gain up here admission
it's a simpleton's decision.

Green, the colour, comes in shades,
dark would be the Everglades,
no one here adores the night,
we prefer the green be light.'

Darkness And Daylight

You love the day, worship the light.
You mourn the setting of the sun, hide from the night.
I?
I curse the light of day, though most would praise and cheer.
I say if there were no light, the dark would hold no fear.
How would we feel about the dark if the harsh bright sun had never shone?
We would not wish for light!
For we would know the dark, alone.
It is the harsh, stark light of day which makes the dark of night seem cold.
Dark is bad and light is good, or so I have been told.
But without the dark, what would be the light?
What would a day mean, if we had no night?

Green, green and green

I want a holiday with a scene
Of green, green and green

A summer of green trees
A landscape of green grass
A view full of green vegetables

The colour green
Is a beauty that must be seen!
From a moving vehicles screen

And while we hold onto those machines
That deprives us of the colour green
Remember they provide us vaccines
As well as help the air to be clean

So for green, green and green
I will travel continents across and in-between
And also to any place that I have never been
I will make it routine
Just to see green, green and green

I am artist

I am artist
Maker by my hands
With paintbrush or pen
I transcript existence
I am painter and poet
A maker by poiesis
Of language of dialect
A hymn or poetic picture.
Color is my light
My green a perception
Of wavelength of yellow and blue.
I am emerald like ocean to grow my way as chlorophyll
I am camouflaged
In green seen being through
The Chinese cuckold green
But dark skinned men
Green eroticized
Green will decay
When jealousy and evil lay
The green eyed monster lives
With his pouch full of greenbacks
And go-go of the street light’s glow
Let you know that the Pan-Africanism
Wave their flags green as ground and land
With red blood and black skin
Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Senegal
Sacred Islam green, Iran and homes for Hamas
Libya, vert by the jolliness of youth
And beauty without shame
Jamaicans men the color of Nigeria
I have seen them dressed in green silk
In paradise where the third ray
Of creative intelligence did green my eyes.
Put the paint and pen
To the canvas and paper
Once wood grown in
Green growth
Far from my plastic pen.
My wishing water is full
Of turbidity suspended
Hazily words that would
Woo you with a tune cause by
The words that could with
Sound make with a fault
With a doubt about
Who you are as poet creator
Of the muse who no longer
Woo you as Hesiod
Did by muse and called
Upon Dante in the Inferno
When Melton’s Paradise Lost
Cried to the heavenly muse
Muse of fire O Willy wordsmith
You shook your shaker and speared
Your pen O muse ascend to tell the tale
Of Troilus and Criseyde
Be my muse and excuse
The weakness of my words
For I am self trained
In the words of the poetic worth of my tongue.

Renda Writer - Colors

Mismanagement damages the fabrics
Woven by the chosen few
The pointing finger chose you
Red light special
Code blue
Blue light special
Red light
Stop
Green go
Green money
Green grasso
Green leaves
Then the green leaves
Unless we start living green
Green seems
To be common
The common theme
The common ground
Is color
We're all brothers from another mother smothered by
The sun and the sky
Everything under the sun has not yet been done
And why?

Our Christmas Tree

Our Christmas tree, stood straight and tall,
We had it standing in the hall,
With decorations, sparkling bright,
And baubles, glittering in the light,
Rich tinsel laced around branches wide,
With bells and bows, that could be spied
Hiding among the dark green pine,
In silver and gold, boldly they did shine,
And at the very top, such a wondrous sight,
A star was placed there, which gave delight.
The whole effect so pleasured the eye.
We planted it outside, now it's 18 feet high.
This year it will once again, be a thrill,
Hung with big coloured lights, in the crisp winter chill.

From A Train

Green and green; and evergreen
in my all, and scurrying
in flickered films
of glimpses, painted green...
and a car in the lane silently shimmers,
as I hear the morning swaying past trees that,
green over green,
silently guard the wet summer sadness,
where cattle stare at the hopping rooks
and do not know
of the things that have been...
or care.

Cloudly and bright:
passing the green.
Where, in my remembrance of once long ago,
I felt the mist
rising unseen from the grass
that was green between green
when we kissed.

So I hum a small phrase
that carries my thoughts
ever and onwards,
listlessly flowing
like the world that is passing
the window beside me
all behind all, so totally green
and all in my knowing
and all in my all
and all in my green.

William Blake

The Echoing Green

The Sun does arise,
And make happy the skies;
The merry bells ring
To welcome the Spring;
The skylark and thrush,
The birds of the bush,
Sing louder around
To the bells’ cheerful sound,
While our sports shall be seen
On the Echoing Green.

Old John, with white hair,
Does laugh away care,
Sitting under the oak,
Among the old folk.
They laugh at our play,
And soon they all say:
‘Such, such were the joys
When we all, girls & boys,
In our youth time were seen
On the echoing green.’

Till the little ones, weary,
No more can be merry;
The sun does descend,
And our sports have an end.
Round the laps of their mothers
Many sisters and brothers,
Like birds in their nest,
Are ready for rest,
And sport no more seen
On the darkening Green.

GREEN, A Litany

green in the midst of drab desolation
green ‘til the tide in the street overflows
green that preserves green's green reputation
green behind curtains, like cellist & bow

green on occasions no green is permissible
green by inversion a negative flame
green in final disgrace & dismissal
green where the gravedigger shoulders his spade

green like the walls of Verlaine's Belgium prison
green woods, wolf & poet meeting on equal foot
green like embroidery on old smoking-jackets
covered with needlepoint dragons & soot

green like a murderer gone to the guillotine
green like the lawns of this land breaking through
our windows in herbicide frenzy to taunt us
green like the tarnish on brass tiger shoes

green the result of choice or of chance
green when the famished, the hopeful despair
green that we have no hope of outguessing
green for which always we must be prepared
