She Is Chasing After The Sun
She is chasing after
The Sun
All over the town today
Because she doesn't
Believe that the sun
Will shine today
And she is desperate
For the sun

The Sun will shine Today
The sun will shine today.
Though late the night has been,
Through paths so darkened and gloomy
Not for the similitude of our hope
Or a semblance in cavalcade rush
We waited too long for this
No worse than these shall sway
The hopes so high within
The sun will shine today,
The rain will follow with abundance,
Drops so many in eyen of anticipation,
Come as together in this circle with unison and hope,
Holding forth for the blessing yet to come
That we all may say together chasing our doubts and fear
The sun will rise again,
Yes, the sun will shine today.

Can't Do It Today
Trying to keep a candle burnin in a hurricane
That's what it's like when you love me, and you leave me this way
Like a dove cryin out when he's lost the will to fly, yeah
Shackled down to the earth by your long chained lies, well
I'll forgive you tomorrow if the sun doesn't shine
Let you back into my life when the oceans are dry
Take you back when every shade of the rainbow turns gray
But I just can't do it today
I can't do it today
Well, I can see you dancin in that stranger's arms
My world hasn't stopped turnin, but it's fallin apart
Every breath that I take's a little closer to sane, yeah
They say that time is a healer, but it's still a long, long ways away
yeah
I'll forgive you tomorrow if the sun doesn't shine
Let you back into my life when the oceans are dry
Take you back when every shade of the rainbow turns gray
But I just can't do it today
I can't do it today
Don't wanna do it today
There's a part of me that wishes I could just forget
But I haven't found the mercy yet
No mercy yet
I'll forgive you tomorrow if the sun doesn't shine
Let you back into my life when the oceans are dry
Take you back when every shade of the rainbow turns gray
But I just can't do it today
I just can't do it today
I just can't do it today
I just can't do it today
Wanna do it today
Can't do it today
Not gonna do it today

Chasing Their Dreams
No one or anyone prevented them,
From chasing their dreams...
No!
No one would.
No!
No one could.
And when anyone has material things,
That glistens their bling...
A way is found to obtain them,
Legitimately.
Or, clandestine to shine in their minds.
'Cause...
No one can intervene or prevent,
One who is chasing dreams...
No!
No one would.
No!
Or stop them if they could.
No one can or prevent one who is...
Chasing their dreams...
No!
No one would,
If they...
Thought they could.
And then a time comes when achievements,
Have been done...
That one will wish for a life simplistic,
With someone.
Remembered from a past that was happy and basic,
But...
They left them fast to chase,
After their dreams.
OH...
No one or anyone prevented them,
From chasing their dreams...
No!
No one would.
No!
No one could.
OH...
No one or anyone prevented them,
From chasing their dreams...
No!
No one would.
No!
No one could.
And today a basicness is wished,
But...
No one or anyone prevented them,
From chasing their dreams...
No!
No one would.
No!
No one could.
Today a basicness is wished,
But...
Chasing their dreams,
Left them...
Caught up in schemes.
And...
No one could prevent them,
From...
Chasing their dreams...
No!
No one would.
No!
No one could.

Today I Shine
From the struggles of yesterday, today I shine
I have climbed from the ghetto that had me blind.
I was scorned by the curse of black stereotype
But my life has changed and today I shine
Just like the Diamonds of Africa,
Today I shine
I would not look back at my dark past,
Its lessons have taught me a whole new path,
A path though rough, the end is clear
Because my life has changed and today I shine,
Just like the Diamonds of Africa,
Today I shine.
I am stronger today than yesterday,
Because I'm on my feet, not on my knees
I have a voice and I would speak out
Because my life has changed and today I shine,
Just like the Diamonds of Africa,
Today I shine.
I have traded my rags for brand new robes
No more begging or free-loading.
When I walk in the court, you'll hear "All rise! "
That's because my life has changed and today I shine,
Just like the Diamonds of Africa
Today I shine.
Today I am what my ancestors couldn't be
A judge in the court as you all now see,
One thing I know, my conscience is free
I will always hand down a fair penalty.
That's because my life has changed and today I shine
Just like the Diamonds of Africa
Today I shine.

Today
There has been a day like today
But a fresh new day is today
It is a unique day today
It is wide open today
All the answers for our questions has today
Let us dream today
Let us laugh today
Let us share our love today
Let us express our greatness today
Let us trade many a yesterday for today
Let us perform our tasks today
Let us make it a magnificent today
Let us thank God for giving life today
Let us thank God for seeing His creations today
Let us love most about today
A golden day is today
For it is a fact today
It has arrived today!

Is Today the Day
Is today the day
we tell Satan flee
is today the day
we will be free
Is today the day
we curl and run
is today the day
we use that gun
Is today the day
much like before
Is today the day
to close the door
Is today the day
the walls come down
Is today the day
we will abound
Is today the day
we ask Jesus in
Is today the day
life begins again
Is today the day
we help a friend
is today the day
Will we let Him in

Today...
Today, the leaves were greener
Today, the sky wasn’t grey
Today, the sun was brighter
Yes, it changed today
Today, people transformed
Today, they weren’t rude
Today, I felt loved
All just today, it’s true
Today, I lived for today
Today, was not for the future
Today, was a great day
Not menial, tiring, brutal
Today, I laughed in silence
Today didn’t make me cry
Today, everything became clearer
But, today, I couldn’t figure out why
And today, if everything changed
And today, if it wasn’t a dream
I don’t know what happened
But today will become everyday, it seems.

After Today
Woo
Thaaa
Thaaa
Always in trouble
Never to blame
Must be a double
You are the same
Here it comes again
Doing the wrong thing
Forgetting your li..ines
Waiting for something better to shine
Take that same okay
After today, fortune man will find you
After today, they will find you working
After today, youll find the ones youre after
After today, look out, after today
What kind of rescue?
What will you be?
Where can you take it, baby boy? for me
Break that heart for me
After today, the fortune fan will find you
After today, they will fly you away
After today, youll find the one youre after
After today, look out, after today
After today, the fortune fan will find you
After today, they will fly you away
After today, youll find the one youre after
After today, look out, after today
Today
After today
After toda-ay, hey
Look out, after today
Ah, yeah
Look, ah (laughter)
(spoken : I was gettin in to that)
(laughter)

Affirmations(2002-2004)
Today, I will get up before my alarm
Today, I won't close my eyes until dusk
Today, I will not get a speeding ticket
Today, I will count this day as a first
Today, I will enjoy the life that has been left to me
Today, I won't frown over the may-have-beens
Today, I won't cry over the should-have-beens
Today, I won't wonder about the could-have-beens
Today, I'll smile.......Today, I'll Laugh.... Today, I'll relax
Today, I won't feel alone because I don't see you
Today, I'll find something new that wasn't true of you
Today, I won't be afraid to look upon a new face
Today, I'll step up and take my place
Today, I won't think about what I've lost
Today, I'll look forward instead of behind
Today, I'll find some piece of mind
Today, I'll hope.... Today, I'll pray... Today, I'll believe
Today, I'll dream as if I always did
Today, I'll wish on a star the way I used to
Today, I'll reach for the heavens and sigh
Today, My heart will start to heal
Today, the biggest miracle is ME.
Today, Yesterday's problems ceased to be
Today, the rain has stopped and the sun has returned
Today, the breath of kindness is found in words
Today, I wonder.... Today, I am a child.

Shine
everyone knows
that im 10 feet under
til you come along and brighten my day
everyone knows that you killed the thunder
roaring in my brain
is giving me the strength
to see right thru the haze
shine come on and let it shine
light me up make me feel alive
you got what it takes
shine for me today
shine and only you know how
to lift my spirit off the ground
and chase those clouds away
shine on me today
when everythings wrong
i just pick the phone up
the sound of your voice
well it feels my eyes
with tears of joy because i know you'll be there
when im hangin by a thread
your my heaven sent
shine come on and let it shine
light me up make me feel alive
you got what it takes
shine for me today
shine only you know how
to lift my spirit off the ground
and chase those clouds away
and you have this way of makin me feel like i can fly
you underneath my wings
so i dont free fall out of the sky
your always there to save me
ya know you save me
shine come on and let it shine
light me up make me feel alive
you got what it takes
shine for me today
shine only you know how
to lift my spirit off the ground
and chase those clouds away
shine on me today
come on and shine
shine on me shine on me
shine
shine
shine
shine on me today
everyone knows that im 10 feet under
right in my world

Not today, not tomorrow
I may want to strangle you down
I may want to hit you hard
But not today, not also tomorrow
I may be tempted to break the promise
I could give no damn for all the roses
But not today, not also tomorrow
I may need to bleed out my heart
I may cry out my desperate objection
But not today, not also tomorrow
I could take the short cut way
I could give up the wrong thing
But not today, not also tomorrow
I could blame all mighty god
I could run away and hide
But not today, not also tomorrow
I could be the cold blooded woman
I could be blind for all the reason
But not today, not also tomorrow
I may have to release my anger
I may not have to hold it anymore
But not today, not also tomorrow
I could just walk away
I could leave to you all
But not today, not also tomorrow
I may beat some senses on you
I may challenge your stubborn view
But not today, not also tomorrow

A stranger in the town
For years I have walked in these lanes
I know each brick and each pane
The same paths and the gardens
But today I am a stranger in the town
I see the same faces
Same people, same personalities
Walking, talking, stopping, scheming
I say hello and move on
Because today I am a stranger in the town.
I want you, I feel you
I desire you, I admire you
But today when I see you
I pretend otherwise
As today I am a stranger in the town

It is a New Day
Today is a new day
today is a new life
today, yes today is a special day
it never has occurred before
the sun light cast on today is ancient
the words I will speak will be for the first time, today
The air I breath is new today
the aches are new as well
the feelings are new today
my cats meow is new today
todays lunch I have is new
the thoughts I think are new today
the life I live today is new
indeed today is a new day

Here Today, Gone Tomorrow
Love is not a game with me
Played with inconsistency
Though my love turned out to be
Here today and gone tomorrow
Love is like a candlelight
Sometimes flickering sometimes bright
Sometimes burning up the night
Here today and gone tomorrow
Live is something of a rover
Comes to town and takes a lover
Packs his bag and then its over
Here today and gone tomorrow
Loves a field of sugar cane
Sunshine smiles and teardrop rain
Feed it till its cut again
Here today and gone tomorrow
Loves a rainbow in the sky
None can reach it, still they try
Rainbow chasing fool am i
Here today and gone tomorrow
Love must be the birds in spring
Only lovers hear them sing
All too soon theyre on the wing
Here today and gone tomorrow
No love is not a game with me
Played with inconsistency
Though my love turned out to be
Here today and gone tomorrow

Just for today...
Just for today I will start my day the right way
Just for today I will pray on my knees
Just for today I will be thankful for all my treasures
Just for today I will lean more into His understanding.
Just for today I will be confidant and share my heart
Just for today I will not be afraid
Just for today I will Love myself unconditionally
just for today I will extend grace to all I know.
Just for today I will be BOLD and Courageous
Just for today I will share my hopes and dreams
Just for today I will listen to others as well...
and just for today I will help others succeed.
Just for today I will accept myself for who I am
Just for today I will work on my gifts...and
Just for today I will extend a hand to a fellow man
Just for today I will know God put me on this earth to Give.

Live your day...
Today, forget your past;
Today, don't worry about tomorrow.
Today, the life is vast;
Today, forget the joy and sorrow.
Today, don't belong to any caste;
Today, fill in your prevailing hollow.
Today, live in minute;
Today, work in the moment.
Today, the hero stands high;
Today, there's no time for a sigh.
Today, persevere in today;
Today, is the moment.
