Dark Circles
Never have I seen anything so clear and promising
As the landscape rolling before my eyes at this moment
Now I see that there is a force I must stop resisting
The readiness to rebuild is becoming more potent
The ashes of what used to be play in the dry wind
And I see a beautiful vision that looks so kind
Dark circles made of ash dance in the air around me
I begin to dance in the beautiful storm and I smile
Why is it that I laugh when there is no light to see?
Why do I dance when I will soon face a testing trial?
There is something exciting and humbling in darkness
From this darkness I will soon find a new grand happiness
In my heart I am feeling the new life. I feel paralyzing
In my mind I am prepared to rebuild. Nothing now stops me
I can feel that soon I will be on top and I’ll be blazing
I can feel that soon I will be revered and I’ll be free
So, why not dance with the swirls of ash so black and dry?
I would rather dance now then continue to hopelessly cry
Dark circles cover me from head to toe!

Leaving Me
wake up in the middle of the night
the air is so heavy my head's screwed on too tight
and in the glow of the christmas lights i watch you sleep
the hands on the cigarette clock are just
time ticking away this love i've got
there's no way to make it stop before you wake
i know you're leaving me
this is not the way that i was brought up to believe that it would be

i'm running round in circles trying to figure out
just who i'm supposed to be
we go down to prospect park
to watch the light become the dark
and i don't think i've ever been this scared

Still Turning Back To Him
Running as far, knowing that he will catch up
Tears are made and fall and doesn’t stop
And running away seems like the only way
Running so far, get tired and drop.
Yet running away, he still comes back for me
As down on the ground, he helps me up
Still betrayed and hurt, wanting to turn away
Like this heart it wants more from the cup.
Not being able to run, just standing there
Afraid of what he might do and say
An apology and forgiveness is asked
Saying no seems to be right, but nay.
Trying to forget what had just happened now
Knowing that he had deceived me hurts
But, the hearts speaks of its own for it want to love
And just him, and no one else to flirts.
As many times as this may happen to all
And always wanting to stop the pain
The right answer seems to be letting him go
Yet this heart cant, it’s as sturdy as a chain.

Circles and lines
are by design
how some move in life.
Those in circles
keep spinning around
and seem to get nowhere.

move straight ahead
as if they're always aware
of what's up ahead.
They do not dread
their future at all
