Reflections Of Joy

The flower in the garden smiled-
The multifarious birds when chirped
When given alms to an ill- clad
Or received an infinitesimal unexpected gift

They all gave joy
Some flickering, some solidifying
But all eroded in distant horizon
None remained in eternity.

What glitters now are reflections
That sometimes gave joy
Indeed made the day
Their degrees, qualities, quantities varied

Did the same event fetch every time the same joy?
They escalated, became zero, decreased
The everlasting joy of reality
That abides in selfless services and creativity

Which freely stand as monuments of ageless intellect
Monuments of its own magnificence
And will be ever things of beauty, the joy forever-
Admiration, reverence, tributes always hostility never.

Flower to Flower

I came across one flower
While walking in a garden
It saw me and gave a smile
I too smiled and walked
Each day in garden I smiled

One day I gazed at flower
At its plant and roots closely
I observed its dance in wind
And its dance made me sing
It made me smile all my time

Everyday I went to flower
Smiled with it and came back
My days went like seconds
Nights passed like years
Flower made me its lover

So I wrote songs on its dance
On its lovely beautiful smile
All about its charming beauty
And my state of dying slowly
In which I am smiling daily

One day I saw flower singing
In the garden while jogging
Song reveled its moving off
From my garden to a house
Of loved one from its past

I smiled on all my songs
While writing a new song
Its song of flower to flower
Which I gave to my flower
When departing from my lover

~ FATHER ~ [ Double Acrostic ]

Forever loving thru' the years. You dried my eye's with patience. When they
~~~Filled with tears. Fair and strong '' your love '' had quelled all of my fears.
Always there, with outstretched hand. With hugs that felt to me so grand.
~~~Always you were so comforting. Those days you were my everything.
Teacher you be! You taught to me. All that's right from wrong.
~~~These values you've instilled so lovingly. Helped to make me strong.
Healer of my heart, your my conscience and my model too. These qualities
~~~Have touched me deeply and made me so proud of you.
Everlasting is the bond that we share together. The gift's you gave to me
~~~Each day effectually. Shall last now and forever.
Respect, admiration and love I send your way. From my heart you are
~~~Remembered, have a ' Happy Father's Day '! ! I Love You Dad....

What You Gave Me

(nickolas ashford/valerie simpson)
Youve given me so much warmth
I dont see how I could ever grow cold
In my mind theres a picture of you and i
That nobody has the price to buy
I dont know what made you change your mind
But youll be back
Its just a matter of time
cause what you gave me is more than enough to last
Ooh, baby
What you gave me is more than enough to last
Yeah, into my life you came
Like a breath of spring
Giving me a song to sing
Though I know youre leaving
But I wont be grieving
cause time has a way of showing us
The things that we really need
And no matter where you go
I know youll find your way back home
cause though I know its not reality
Youll always be a part of me
cause what you gave me is more than enough to last
What you gave me is more than enough to last
What you gave me
What you gave me is more than enough to last
Yes, yes its more
Its more than enough to last
Yes, yes its more
Its more than enough to last
What you gave me is more than enough to last
What you gave me is more than enough to last
What you gave me is more than enough to last
What you gave me is more than enough to last

Sailing to Byzantium

That is no country for old men. The young
In one another’s arms, birds in the trees
—Those dying generations—at their song,
The salmon-falls, the mackerel-crowded seas,
Fish, flesh, or fowl, commend all summer long
Whatever is begotten, born, and dies.
Caught in that sensual music all neglect
Monuments of unageing intellect.

An aged man is but a paltry thing,
A tattered coat upon a stick, unless
Soul clap its hands and sing, and louder sing
For every tatter in its mortal dress,
Nor is there singing school but studying
Monuments of its own magnificence;
And therefore I have sailed the seas and come
To the holy city of Byzantium.

O sages standing in God’s holy fire
As in the gold mosaic of a wall,
Come from the holy fire, perne in a gyre,
And be the singing-masters of my soul.
Consume my heart away; sick with desire
And fastened to a dying animal
It knows not what it is; and gather me
Into the artifice of eternity.

Once out of nature I shall never take
My bodily form from any natural thing,
But such a form as Grecian goldsmiths make
Of hammered gold and gold enamelling
To keep a drowsy Emperor awake;
Or set upon a golden bough to sing
To lords and ladies of Byzantium
Of what is past, or passing, or to come.

Monuments

In our lands are monuments
for the dear and departed.
Some are for some daring deeds;
others are put in someone’s favourite place,
hoping someone else will enjoy
all the beauty that they gazed upon.
Some monuments serve as a warning,
erected about some evil deed
to remember all that perished.
So the next time you pass a monument
read the inscription there,
learn a little of its presentation.
Become a little wiser to its stature
and the one it is dedicated to,
for you never know in the future
someone may erect a monument to honour you.

You Are Like A Flower

You are like a flower
Growing in beauty
Nature has its own way
Making you uniquely
So I’ll wait until the day
You sprout with love
Because anything less
Would not be enough
You are like a flower
Strong with the wind
Never giving up your roots

You grow and never let loose
Should I protect you anymore?
When the strength you have
Is already within you
You are like a flower
Giving off good qualities
Selfless and fragrant
Keeping yourself steady
You know something new
Comes out everyday
You are like a flower
You attract attention
With your good look
You are sensitive
It is what makes you strong
Though you can be easily plucked
You fight for your life
You decide what is what
You are a like a flower
For a flower is honest
What you see is what you get
You stand out like a flower should
I will remember how gentle you are
A flower in need of love, you are set
Because even if you are all these
You are soft and delicate
It’s my pleasure to make sure
That nothing changes it
My Flower

I thought it was a gift.

They told me it was a gift;
they told me and I was so glad.
I put my heart and soul into it all,
cried tears and sweat so many beads of my own metallic crimson blood.

I gave it all; I thought it was a gift.

I worked longer than anyone I knew.
I worked harder.
I gave up so much more, I did so many things, all at the same time;
just so I could please them. I put their needs and wants over mine.

I gave it all; I thought it was a gift.

I thought that this was what they called fate,
I thought that this was what they called destiny.
I thought that I'd been given a gift for good.
I thought that gifts were supposed to bring joy, and happiness, and peace.

I gave it all, all because I thought it was a gift.

You never told me,
that one day I'd be sitting here,
questioning myself -
about how and why a God given gift, had suddenly turned
into a curse.

Contentment

Sleep fell upon my senses and I dreamed
Long years had circled since my life had fled.
The world was different, and all things seemed
Remote and strange, like noises to the dead.
And one great Voice there was; and something said:
'Posterity is speaking-rightly deemed
Infallible:' and so I gave attention,
Hoping Posterity my name would mention.

'Illustrious Spirit,' said the Voice, 'appear!
While we confirm eternally thy fame,
Before our dread tribunal answer, here,
Why do no statues celebrate thy name,
No monuments thy services proclaim?
Why did not thy contemporaries rear
To thee some schoolhouse or memorial college?
It looks almighty queer, you must acknowledge.'

Up spake I hotly: 'That is where you err!'
But some one thundered in my ear: 'You shan't
Be interrupting these proceedings, sir;
The question was addressed to General Grant.'
Some other things were spoken which I can't
Distinctly now recall, but I infer,
By certain flushings of my cheeks and forehead,
Posterity's environment is torrid.

Then heard I (this was in a dream, remark)
Another Voice, clear, comfortable, strong,
As Grant's great shade, replying from the dark,
Said in a tone that rang the earth along,
And thrilled the senses of the Judges' throng:
'I'd rather you would question why, in park
And street, my monuments were not erected
Than why they were.' Then, waking, I reflected.

Robins Birthday Ballad

It was down by the river, down by the river side
A girl so pretty I almost cried
Hair of curl and a golden rinse
Never saw a more prettier girl, then or since.

She had the gift of beauty, one of three she received
One of intellect, but with a B average, she always grieved.
The third and final gift to be with her for life
All the beautiful babies she wants; as soon as she becomes a wife.

She was the prettiest thing this side of everywhere
Why she could make every man's eyeballs stop; just so they could stare
Robin all these words come from my heart
At one time I thought my battery was dead but you gave it a fast fast start.

Seventeen and they are writing and singing songs about you
Even if tho there are many Robin; they are also too few
This ballad was written by someone who has seen just about eveyone
And your beauty comes out of a setting sun.

I don't want all these words to go to your head
But like they say, 'what has been said has been said'
This ballad now comes to its logical conclusion
May your life be filled with welcomes and very few intrusions.

I leave the secret message inside of the envelope only for you to see
If you know whoever gets to see it, then mince meat will be made of me.

Faithful One unchanging in all Your ways
The Living God and Ancient of Days.
Keeper of Covenants, merciful to all
that obey Your commands and hear Your call.

Ageless One and the Anchor of my Soul
My Lord and my God Who has made me whole.
Generations have received Your blessing
when they turned to You their sins confessing.

Eternal One from everlasting to everlasting
Your precepts stand firm all time outlasting.
Lord of Life climbing the Hill of Calvary
faithful in death as You died there for me.

Retreating Wind

When I made you, I loved you.
Now I pity you.

I gave you all you needed:
bed of earth, blanket of blue air--

As I get further away from you
I see you more clearly.
Your souls should have been immense by now,
not what they are,
small talking things--

I gave you every gift,
blue of the spring morning,
time you didn't know how to use--
you wanted more, the one gift
reserved for another creation.

Whatever you hoped,
you will not find yourselves in the garden,
among the growing plants.
Your lives are not circular like theirs:

your lives are the bird's flight
which begins and ends in stillness--
which begins and ends, in form echoing
this arc from the white birch
to the apple tree.

Weary body

She gave him her dreams,
he made them nightmares.
She gave him her love, he
turned it to hatred, she gave
him her warm kisses, he
turned them into regrets.
She gave him her enthusiasm;
he turned it into distress.
She gave him her sweet hymns;
he turned them into howling wolves.
She gave him the flavor of her
craves, he turned it into bitterness,
She gave him the nectars of her
fruits, he made them go bad.
She gave him her time, he took
it for granted. All she gave, became
in vain; a weary body and broken
lies, are the only truth she has to
confront. Her heart was still alive
she gave it to him, he took it in
warm blood, and let it bleed to death.

Margaret

I KNOW a garden where white lilies grow,
Under the grey sweet-laden apple boughs;
It is a garden where the roses blow,
And honeysuckle covers half the house.
O happy garden, do you keep the vows
Breathed in your quiet ear beneath the rose,
Or do you tell the tale to each soft wind that blows?

Across your grassy paths she used to stray,
She moved among you like a living flower,
Her beauty drank your beauty every day,
Your beauty decked her beauty every hour.
You gave her rose and lily for a dower,
With all sweet flowers and fruits your bosom bore--
She took them all--and now she comes not any more.

O garden, if you breathe such secret things
To the south wind who loves you, tell him this:
To spread the scented softness of his wings,
And seek that other garden where she is,
And bid him bear no blossom and no kiss;
Only, dear garden, tell the wind to say
How grey the world is grown since Margaret went away!

Sonnet: Just Be Yourself!

Each flower need not try to be a rose,
For this is not a possibility;
Each garden flower or in wild, God chose
To serve His purpose for divinity.

Just being oneself is enough on earth,
For vying with the others is a waste;
God gave each one a beauty right from birth,
Each nose for smell, and taste-bud for a taste!

Why try to ape the next when you cannot?
Just emulate the good of ones around;
One cannot be the next however smart!
This is the dictum of this God-made world.

The fool wastes time and energy futile
To act and do like others, laugh and smile!

The wedding of Venus

The wedding of Venus

This morning when I passed by
Rare flower caught my eyes
Who with a welcoming smile
In the garden among the others-
grasses, trees, and the other flowers
I stayed for a moment
Enjoying her fragrance
And into my heart carry it for a while,
But someone arrived
Took away the wonderful time
In his hands the flower whose’
Beauty is beyond to compare.
He took the flower
And to the altar he offered her
He made a vow- a promise
forever he will take care of her
forever they will stay together.

Ode To Beauty

Ah, beauty! you command so much of our love and respect
but are you in reality like that we have all come to expect?
You always stand out naturally amidst certain things we find
being made of the stuff which captivates our heart and mind.

On appearance you’re exquisite and demand our admiration
and usually have to be handled with care and consideration.
It’s because of you we all become overwhelmed with desire
but if we’re thwarted by indifference we burn in love’s fire.

The world knows where you belong and tries to keep you there
far above all the rest by acknowledging your artistry and flair.
You’re that which it most easily succumbs to without any fuss
because you possess and provide all the appropriate stimulus.

Throughout the ages you have been recognised and adored
and it’s no wonder that with you we seldom ever get bored.
In nature you share a high place besides eternity’s throne,
but to see you as you really are one has to witness it alone.

You tend to take up so much of our time we hardly realise
that you’re the only one which we’ve come to truly idolize.
In our efforts to always possess you we’re usually led astray
and undergo many sacrifices in all our life to make you stay.

What you really are though few have ever come to suspect
let alone truly know how to gain what you offer or collect.
As you come in so many forms we look for you everywhere
and if we happen to find you we’re burdened with much care.

Even in our wildest imagination we can’t forget or ever leave you be
and it seems that you’re the one thing in life we all would like to see.
The truth of the matter is that you really don’t belong to just anyone
and if anyone claims you as their own they spoil everyone else’s fun.

It’s only for a period of time though we appreciate your outward form
as it is either we or you that time gets the better of which is the norm.
If there be an Infinite and Ageless Beauty you’re the temporary expression of
please convey the highest praise and adoration that I can give - my pure love.

~ Varied Intimacy ~

Multifarious divine intimacy
Varied shades of love
Born from deeper commitment
Ever growing in loving abidance

Spiritual dimensions of intimacy
Varied degrees of value
Transcending encompassing passion
Permeates being, deep within

Maturing love in intimacy
Varied keys of glory
Cascades, by covenant promise
Desire, drawn by attraction

Passion, the essence of intimacy
Varied vastness of manifold love
Fervent desire to draw closer
Blessed consummation of Spirit, Body and Soul
