I Don't Believe You
I can't understand,
She let go of my hand
An' left me here facing the wall.
I'd sure like t' know
Why she did go,
But i can't get close t' her at all.
Though we kissed through the wild blazing nighttime,
She said she would never forget.
But now mornin's clear,
It's like i ain't here,
She just acts like we never have met.
It's all new t' me,
Like some mystery,
It could even be like a myth.
Yet it's hard t' think on,
That she's the same one
That last night i was with.
From darkness, dreams're deserted,
Am i still dreamin' yet?
I wish she'd unlock
Her voice once an' talk,
'stead of acting like we never have met.
If she ain't feelin' well,
Then why don't she tell
'stead of turnin' her back t' my face?
Without any doubt,
She seems too far out
For me t' return t' her chase.
Though the night ran swirling an' whirling,
I remember her whispering yet.
But evidently she don't
An' evidently she won't,
She just acts like we never have met.
If i didn't have t' guess,
I'd gladly confess
T' anything i might've tried.
If i was with 'er too long
Or have done something wrong,
I wish she'd tell me what it is, i'll run an' hide.
Though her skirt it swayed as a guitar played,
Her mouth was watery and wet.
But now something has changed
For she ain't the same,
She just acts like we never have met.
I'm leavin' today,
I'll be on my way
Of this i can't say very much.
But if you want me to,
I can be just like you
An' pretend that we never have touched.
An' if anybody asks me, "is it easy to forget?"
I'll say, "it's easily done,
You just pick anyone,
An' pretend that you never have met!

Nothing Man
I dont remember how I felt
I never thought Id live
To read about myself
In my hometown paper
How my brave young life
Was forever changed
I a misty cloud of pink vapor
Darlin give me your kiss
Only understand
I am, the nothing man
Around here, everybody acts the same
Around here, everybody acts like nothings changed
Friday night, the club meets at als barbecue
The skys still, the same unbelievable blue
Darlin give me your kiss
Come and take my hand
I am, the nothing man
You can call me joe
Buy me a drink and shake my hand
You want courage
Ill show you courage you can understand
The pearl and silver
Restin on my night table
Its just me lord, pray Im able
Darlin, with this kiss
Say you understand
I am, the nothing man
I am, the nothing man

An act of poetry
Ruin is what we need –
Despair is what we feed
Upon in poetry
A shock resets the nerves –
Helps remould the curves
Of written art
Catharsis helps portray –
Acting out a play
On expurgation
Tears or hidden fears
Release the bottled years
To ink a page:
The pen be our salvation.

A Night To Remember
I look out my window
Into the pouring rain
I wish I could tell you
That I stopped hearing your name
And then I realize every thought of you
Runs a circle around my heart
I hear your voice haunting me
I feel your touch in the dark
It was a night to remember
All your kisses I still taste
It was a night to remember
Can't forget the look on your face
It was a night
Starlight send a message
Like a beacon into the night
To tell you I'm lonely
When I shut out the light
Because a part of me left with you
So I feel lost inside
Sometimes I look into my mirror
I see you shining through my eyes
It was a night to remember
All your kisses I still taste
It was a night to remember
Can't forget the look on your face
It was a night to remember
All these feelings I can't erase
From my heart
Endless dreams
Around my shoulders
I cannot free this restless heart
It was a night to remember
...Not enough time for you to stay...
...Can't forget the look on your face

Ya'lls'gottagitupandgo!
I felt no guilt of sacrifice.
Nor need to receive acts of pity!
My path I walk has not been tried.
And obstacles I face...
I knew they were mine.
From this I did not run or hide.
I could not sit or linger to weep.
My challenges were selected.
I do not remember,
Any that were sweetened.
Or any did I conquer quickly...
To satisfy myself with as a treat!
My steps have been careful and cautiously placed.
And the clarity I've learned to use...
Is not too often amused,
By those crossing my path...
With ignorant acts.
And those ignorant of facts.
I teach...
I am not about acts of distractions.
I reach to cleanse!
Not absorb myself with teases
Of quickly gotten trash.
Not on this path I take.
My God, The Almighty wants me focused!
And He,
Is the reason Why...
I am able now on this path to stride!
And ain't no other sucker coming to pluck...
Or gonna stop to pick a fight with a Goose,
To flop!
Or do a flip to dropp slop,
On my 'do'. Not...to-day!
No way, Miguel.
Mary, Michael or Joe Monroe!
'Ya'lls'gottagitupandgo! '
Clear!
Get up and get to moving off!
You're adding shadow on my light.
And all my life I've worked to hard,
To get it to surround me.
This business I conduct is serious.
You want me to get real 'nig-er-ish? '
I didn't think so.
Then there should be no further announcement!
'And-youcangiggleifyouwant-to too! '

I Cant Forget
i remember us
should i forget?
i remember your eyes
should i forget?
i remember your touch
should i forget?
i remember your voice
should i forget?
i remember your face
should i forget?
i remember your care
should i forget?
i remember your feelings
should i forget?
i remember your personality :)
should i forget?
i remember my thoughts of you
i cant forget, should i forget?
i remember the good times with you
i cant forget, should i forget?
i remember the comfort from you
i cant forget, should i forget?
i remember my love for you
i cant forget, i wont ever forget!

If I Forget Thee, Jerusalem
If I forget thee, Jerusalem,
Then let my right be forgotten.
Let my right be forgotten, and my left remember.
Let my left remember, and your right close
And your mouth open near the gate.
I shall remember Jerusalem
And forget the forest -- my love will remember,
Will open her hair, will close my window,
will forget my right,
Will forget my left.
If the west wind does not come
I'll never forgive the walls,
Or the sea, or myself.
Should my right forget
My left shall forgive,
I shall forget all water,
I shall forget my mother.
If I forget thee, Jerusalem,
Let my blood be forgotten.
I shall touch your forehead,
Forget my own,
My voice change
For the second and last time
To the most terrible of voices --
Or silence.

Remember Not To Forget Me
You have been through a lot
You still have a long way to go
Discrimination will always be in your way
You will face new trials everyday
So many people you will meet
Just remember not to forget me
You have a lot to live for
But not a lot to come back for
I’ll always be here waiting
Waiting for the love of my life
For my happiness to return to me
Please remember not to forget me
You gave me what I never had before
Hope, a reason, the will to keep being
I lived for the moment, you taught me to slow down
You taught me to think about it, to savor it
And then to plan for tomorrow
So when tomorrow comes, remember not to forget me
When you’re with me, the rest of the world fades
Everything melts away and it’s just you and me, face to face
I don’t know how you feel, but I know you are part of me
You are my other half, I need you to breathe
You are the light to my dark, the night to my day
As the sun rises and sets, remember not to forget me
You remind me that I don’t need their reality
I just need you with me, away where we can be
Every kiss you give me takes my tears away
With each passing day we get closer
Closer to the day when you will take me away
Just come back, remember not to forget me
I tried to quit you, to prove i didn’t need you
I failed, I couldn’t forget you, the memories found me
Everything near me has residue of you
Close my eyes, I see you, as if you were here
You know what, I couldn’t be happier
Carry the memories with you, remember not to forget me
Every morning that I wake, I’ll think of you
And you will be on my mind all through the day
When it’s late, I’ll be thinking of you, as I lie there alone and awake
As I dream it is you I will see
I can only hope you will be thinking of me
My darling, my love, please remember not to forget me

Fly By Night
Its hard to say Im sorry.
May we just forget about today.
You see, I fly by night.
I fly by night.
I laid my love beside the door
And left you sleeping on the floor.
So long. I fly by night,
I fly by night.
And though you might think its too bad of me
I have to leave you with used memories.
I have no stomach for the dawn.
I feel I should be moving on
And so I fly by night.
Now lady lucks deserted me.
The ghosts of love stand clear to see.
They also fly by night.
Strange figures in the dark.
Did cupid strike and leave his mark?
It seems his arrows fly by night.
They fly by night.
Lets fly.

Back Where You Belong
I heard you're askin how I'm feelin
I guess I'll play it day by day
I'm still around now my heart is healin
But something's never gonna change
Cause now I know love ain't easy to find
I let you go, now I'm changing my mind
I know that love, it don't come easy
Took so long, it's been hard to find
And so, love, you must believe me
Ain't gonna let it slip away
I know I was wrong
I want you back where you belong
Want you back where you belong
Back where you belong
I've played around now
I've done some dealin
I found that love should be with you
And so you're gone now
My head is reelin'
Don't wanna be with someone new
And so I go with a feelin inside
Because I know what I'm leavin behind
I know that love, it don't come easy
It took so long it's been hard to find
And so, love, you must believe me
Ain't gonna let it slip away
I know I was wrong
I want you back where you belong
Want you back where you belong
Back where you belong
I guess in time
I'd stop and think it over
Everything that we've been through
This heart of mine may never find another
Who loves me just the way you do
I heard you're askin how I'm feelin
I guess I'll play it day by day
I'm still around now my heart is healin'
But something's never gonna change
Cause now I know love ain't easy to find
I let you go, now I'm changin' my mind

Happy Face
My face is raw,
With the flashflood of tears,
My head is pounding,
From crying so hard,
I can't quite comprehend,
Why this has happened.
Thots invading my mind,
Thots of suicide.
I know that wouldn't solve anything,
Plus I don't want her to keep that promise,
So I'll shove those thots back out.
Put on my happy face,
I can't let them see that anything is wrong,
That I might be cracking.
But when I get a chace,
I'll crawl into bed,
...and sleep,
And try to forget that this happened.
When I wake up,
I'll realixe that I could never forget
I'll never feel like I have.
When I was with her.
I'll pretend I never know her,
To get through there two years,
But I'll be emotionless,
Until she comes back,
And if she doesn't.
I'll put on my happy face,
and pretend everything is okay.

She Remembered
(eric carmen)
I went back to my class reunion
I was wondering how my friends have changed
I was thinking bought a certain girl
I was hoping to find there
I walked in and she caught my eye
Though she was standing with another guy
All the years seemed to fade away
Could it be she still remembered
She remembered
It was so long ago
Could we ever feel that way again
She remembered
Making love neath the stars
Oh, the world was so much younger then
When we kissed and my heart stood still
I said I loved her and I always will
cause dreams are forever
And some things you never forget
She introduced me to the guy she was with
Then I asked her if shed like to dance
We hit the floor as the band began
Our favorite old slow song
I pulled her close and to my surprise
I heard her whisper as she closed her eyes,
God its just like it used to be
I wasnt sure if youd remember
I remember
It was so long ago
Could we ever feel that way again
I remember
Making love neath the stars
Oh the world was so much younger then
When we kissed and my heart stood still
I said I loved her and I always will
cause dreams are forever
And some things you never forget
Oh darlin, please dont try and understand it
Lets be fools for one moment in time
After all, this is not as if we planned it
Just hold me close and remember
When you used to be mine
I remember when
She remembered
It was so long ago
Could we ever feel that way again
She remembered
Making love neath the stars
Oh the world was so much younger then
When we kissed and my heart stood still
I said I loved her and I always will
cause dreams are forever
And some things you never forget
Well, dreams are forever
And some things you never forget
