Predator’s Prey
A young boy is crumbled in a bundle small
Under wooden boards of stairs outdoor
His breath is held as he grips the ground of the floor
In his back an ache, from the angst in his heart a longed-for break
Just a few steps higher hiding in the same place I
His brother older I cringe at the fear my body holds
My muscles trembling and my mouth distastefully dry
I wish to be bolder as the strength I have, it all folds
I taste the dust in my mouth as I press my face to dirt
Afraid to look up I still feel the fright of my brother ‘neath my heels
I long to break out with might,
Protect those I should and fight
In this old park we lie and wait
Two boys young who ran to hide the first place straight
Our parents off far out of sight or shout
The earth still as our hearts pound and grabs our stout
I hear the slow sliding of steps approaching
Grass underfoot shrieks a still and menacing yell
The steps stop hardly two feet above head
And timely steps forward creaking wood an earsplitting bell
Treading down I see the dirt on his sole
He looks around
Seeking a glimpse or a sense of some sound
Of the prey he seeks to please his soul
He walks down further to where my brother lies
With all I have I yearn for him to keep the silence
To protect our sanctuary’s secret from probing eyes
To keep our hearts and lives from this impending violence
He moves down the steps and I take some courage
And see him walking past and ‘round some foliage
I nudge my brother to make an escape
Squeezing out through the gap and scraping my nape
Out free in the sun I sense the need to run
Whispering urgent I beckon my brother along
But down low under the steps he falters and stays
A choice to be made, I choose to run
Across the lawns and the fields I stumble in fear
To the park’s other side where my parents near
Thoughts of my brother haunts me forward
As tears of dread propels me on
Reaching safety I shout the urgent distress
To parents in anguish strained no less
We run back toward the old wooden stairs
Finding empty the place where terror now stays
We search for a cause with hope seeming grim
No trace of a boy whose chance now is slim
Tearing me apart the guilt and the shame
Of leaving him there, will life be the same?

For Bill - My Brother
Who was aged five when I was born
My brother
Who hid my toys and broke my dolls
My brother
Who avoided his sister at school all day
My brother
Who tolerated my teenage years
My brother
Who as an adult became a friend
My brother
Who mellowed with each passing year
My brother
Who supported my desire to immigrate
My brother
Who was there when others weren't
My brother
Who buried our parents while I was gone
My brother
Who cherished every visit I made
My brother
Who had his ticket to visit me here
My brother
Who unexpectedly died this year

Brother To Brother
Brother to brother
Now we must join our hearts and hands
Yeah, if we love one another
We hold the key to the promised land
Think of all that weve been through
The shucks and jives and royal blues
Let us pray our time will come
When this world will live as one
Brother to brother
Now dont let the devil get you down
Oh cause its bread and its butter
That makes this whole damn world
Go round and round
Do you know where we went wrong
Tell me why the lines are drawn?
And let us break our boundries down
And live our lives on common ground
Oh mothers and fathers
Where will tomorrows children be?
Oh brother, my brother
Let us live our lives in peace

my brother PJ
My brother my life, my soul, my blood. A love between a sister and a brother is far beyond any. My brother a creation of God and the unexplainable mysters of his work. My brother was molded by the tender guiding hands, love and sprit of our divine Lord above.
My brother was given life a soul body and mind. This great myster of life that was created is slowly weathering away with the poision, That Doctors call cancer. He is my brother a young man of 34 who has to fight for the life that was giving. With a smile on my face to hide the pain, and Our great Lord in my heart i think God for one more day that my brother is able to see. Though are hearts my break and we may question one of lifes greats mysteries just remember God will not give you anything that you are unable to handle, Have faith and let him guid your heart. he will never let you falter. Thank you thank God for you my; brother

Where was my brother
Where was my brother when I needed him there?
Does he think I don’t notice or assume I don’t care?
Where was my bother it was once him and once me?
But now at some bad times it’s him I don’t see.
Where was my brother who’s back I once had?
You were the brother to count on the good times and bad.
Where was my brother by my side he should be?
He should be right here why can’t I see?
Where was my brother when I needed him most?
Now when I look to my side all I see is his ghost.
Where was my brother did I bring shame?
Does he remember me now, does he remember my name?
Where was my brother waiting to long for his call?
So I put up a brick on my emotional wall.
Where was my brother, its his court its his ball?
Guess my brother has proved he’s no brother at all.

Two Steps
Two steps together
Our Myths says
Brings two souls together
Two steps together
Is the surround of
One’s life to another
Two steps together
Can bring the long path
Seeming so far away
To so close that
One can feel the step’s beat
In his own heart.
Two steps together
But,
Will life be just the path of two steps only?
Anyhow, any steps walking is incomplete
If it is not done in two steps
All begins by just two steps together….

You Run Your Mouth (And I'll Run My Business)
(words and music by Armstrong)
Who doubt say, who doubt when I say, who doubt...
You cats keep beetin' up your chops
I had turn you over to the cops
I dig this spiel I'm going way on your gate
Don't cop your broom pop or buddy or mate
You run your mouth and I'll run my business brother
You run your mouth and I'll run my business brother
You tell everybody I'm busted
You talk so much you got me disgusted
You run your mouth and I'll run my business brother
Yeh, you run your mouth and I'll run my business brother
You run your mouth and I'll run my business brother
You start up telling me you're my pal
End up telling how to handle my gal
You run your mouth and I'll run my business brother
You run your juicy mouth and I'll run my business brother
You run your juicy mouth and I'll run my business brother
You're always telling me what to do
Saying "I wouldn't do that if I was you"
You run your mouth and I'll run my business brother
(instrumental break)
You clamp your liver lips and I'll run my business brother
Just clamp your liver lips and I'll run my business brother
If I follows your advice on how to make dough
I'd been in the jailhouse long ago
You run your mouth and I'll run my business brother
Yeh, you run your juicy mouth and I'll run my business brother
Just you run your mouth and I'll run my business brother
You tell everybody I'm busted
You talk so much you got me disgusted
You run your mouth and I'll run my business brother

my Brother Was The Only One
I remember one late afternoon memory
Through the gate
the sound of my steps after me
Under a warm shade
where all her children had gather
had come and gone
My brother was the only one
I remember the loose wood
from that uncertain gate
Out of character the handle being firm
yet the context of frame
being old and bent
Somebody teach me where he went
I remember under the shadows
by his dreams
Many moments he must have saved
cautiously filling his regrets
a place call home
he can't forget
My brother they say
loves the beauty from eyes
the son of his own
He gathers to capture fragrance
of a little girl he's known
That's my girl! come-on... hon
My brother was the only one
He sits in my thoughts
alone under that dormant grey tree
His eyes captivated as if time stands still
His eyes filled with passive glare
But yet
life no longer his care
My brother was the only one
That time and chance never another
Did words did I cover
that didn't say, dearly brother
I Love You

Confessions of a Bound Soul
Brother, my brother,
How selfish was I
While you seemed to struggle,
I sat idly by
Brother, my brother
Yes, try as I might
I now realize
It was also my fight
Brother, my brother
Now look at your arm
It's cold and immovable
Lost all its charm
Brother, my brother
Now look at your leg
There's so much left missing
Yet not once did you beg
Brother, my brother
Though I lost more in mass
It is you far more haunted
By our mistakes in the past
Brother, dear brother
Listen when I say
I will stick by your side
Until this goes away
Brother, dear brother
Listen when I say
I will stick by your side
Until our final day

My brother the soilder
My brother the soilder
my brother the soilder loves his country.
my brother the soilder is dedicated to protect it.
my brother the soilder is a hero in my eyes.
my brother the soilder loves me.
my brother the soilder cares.
my brother the soilder looks out for me.
my brother the soilder would give anything for me.
my brother the soilder cheers me up when i'm down.
my brother the soilder can turn my frown upside down.
But why does my brother,
have to risk his life,
just to save those who are scared to fight?
Why does he have to be a hero?
Why does can't everyone be a hero in this world?
Why can't everyone give a little to protect themselves and others?
Why can't we all work together, just like the soilders have to do,
otherwise we all die
Hey You
Im stood out with my brother
On a tree lined avenue
I see the sweetest little creature
Coming into my view
And I say to myself, I say man Im gonna get me some
Of that bright little angel
That shines like the morning sun
Well my brother steps in, faster that light
And he sweet talks this angel, clean out of sight
I say hey you, you with that look in your eye
Hey you, you with that look in your eye
Well she moves like a river
From her head down to her toes
Its less a way of walking
More a total flow
And I say to myself, I wonder
I wonder if she knows
What shes doing to me and my brother
From our heads down to our toes
Well hes up there on the corner now
Hes playing up that romeo like only he know how
I say hey you, you with that look in your eye
Hey you, you with that look in your eye
Hey you, you that make the stars shine
Hey you, you with that look in your eye

A Brother Like Him
I'M SO LUCKY TO HAVE A BROTHER LIKE HIM! A BROTHER LIKE HIM, WHO I CAN LAUGH AND TALK TO HIM ANYTIME! A BROTHER LIKE HIM WHOM I CAN MAKE NEW MEMORIES WITH HIM! A BROTHER LIKE HIM WHO IS ALWAYS BY MY SIDE! I AM PROUD TO HAVE A BROTHER LIKE HIM NOT BECAUSE OF HIS ACCOMPLISHMENT, BUT BECAUSE OF WHO HE IS! A BROTHER LIKE HIM WHO DOESN'T WANT ME TO CHOOSE WRONG WAYS BUT RIGHT WAYS! YES, HE IS MY ROLE MODEL! ! A BROTHER LIKE HIM WHO ALWAYS TELL'S ME WHAT IS GOOD AND NOT GOOD FOR ME! NOW HE IS FAR AWAY FROM HOME! WE ONLY COMMUNICATE VIA CELL PHONES, AND HEARING HIS VOICE MAKES ME TO MISS HIM EVEN MORE! BUT I HAVE TO WAIT BECAUSE SOON HE WILL COME AND VIST! A BROTHER LIKE HIM......A BROTHER LIKE HIM......'MR P 'HE IS MY FIRST 'BIGGY'BIG BROTHER! !

The Quizzical Heart of a Lover
Hear oh, hear oh, my dear lover;
your inner self speaks,
Hear my voice, hear me yell,
For i am distinct in you;
Your inner self can see you no more in quizzicalness.
Your inner self can see you no more incarcerated,
why do you choose to live mystically,
Don't you see how in supplication you live,
Yet you beseech when they don't hear,
Oh dear brother, I am your inner self,
You are besieged by this bewildered love,
Free yourself from the chains of bereft,
For I saw you waited too long,
For I saw you awake, countless nights, desolated.
Don't you see those lying eyes,
Why do you mortify oneself,
I can see no more dear brother,
Break away from these bondage,
For what seen is not love,
The path you walk deceives;
In a state of melancholia, dejected are you.
For you once loved and left, downcast,
Yet chose to be back again,
Dear brother, how i know uncorrupt is your love for her,
Yet she disgraces this love,
Don't you see it my dear brother,
Don't you see how concealed you are in it,
For I heard greatness of love,
But this I see is not love,
It engulfs, Placing you in a place of infinity of no return.
Dear brother stonewalled you are,
Why do you choose to break forth those walls,
Just to embrace cruel sadism,
Why do you not hear me,
Your love is great and pure,
Yet wrong headed, Turn back, hear my yell.
For if it was love,
No matter how long you waited,
I would not wail in pain,
I'am your second sight,
I shed tears to see you confound,
Cause in wilderness I see you cry,
Love never is cageful,
Imprison yourself no more,
Come back, oh dear brother,
For there is a love divine,
Godsend, awaiting in a yonder,
To embrace you forevermore.
Cry no more brother,
oh the quizzical heart of a lover.

Dancing The Tango
i give the initial steps forward and then
you compliment them with some steps backward
and with my left hand on your waist
putting even a slight pressure there
you notice the understandable push and you know
exactly where next to go
without me telling you
even in a whisper
we look up high in the ceiling with dignity
as i carry you
to the places that i want to go
my right hand holds yours
and sometimes i give the signals for the slowing of our steps
as though we are casually walking in the park
the audience look at us
amazed by the grace and
passion in our eyes...
very well like marriage, i said to myself
the fingers speak
the eyes understand
the body moves towards a common direction
the mouth simply listens

He Was My Brother
He was my brother
Five years older than I
He was my brother
Twenty-three years old the day he died
Freedom writer
They cursed my brother to his face
Go home outsider
This town's gonna be your buryin' place
He was singin' on his knees
An angry mob trailed along
They shot my brother dead
Because he hated what was wrong
He was my brother
Tears can't bring him back to me
He was my brother
And he died so his brothers could be free
He died so his brothers could be free

Lifelong Bonds...
More than the blood of my blood. He is my friend,
my rock...my brother.
Brother, in times of need, never judging, always there.
My Brother, could, would, always make things right.
Brother, never made much ado, about the task at
hand...he just did it.
Brother, who lifted me, when I was down.
Brother, who brought the laughter, amid the pain.
Brother, the word he never spoke...was 'no'.
Brother, who had the answers, to my questions.
Brother, who by example, did walk the path of right.
Brother, in all my years...in all my life, never have
I met another...like my loving brother.
To My Brother...
