Parasites

my dog was scratching
like crazy and biting
his paws endlessly
i felt his discomfort
its maybe the fleas
the vet has something
to take care of and
squeeze my pocket empty

i smiled at the irony
my precious dog
is lucky to have me
the boy who lives next
door scratches his head
daily and bites his
dirty nails
thought its maybe the lice
feeding on his blood
while his drunken father
and gambling mom
are fighting over
who gets the money

Money

Money money money
Everybody wants some
No money church can't run
Money for this
Money for that
No life without it
Can't sleep
She says hell
In this house
If she don't get it!

Before you get paid
Taxman grab it
Buy something
He grab it again
When money pressure hit
You cannot afford to get sick
Doctors want some
And if you dead without it
You will not be buried
Not even in the sticks

Money money money
It's like blood
It's the way world runs
Need money for food
Need money for fun
If you have no money
Blood a go run
Man join the army
To get some of it
Would be alive
If he had it

Money money money
Where is the money?
Have to get money
Before the day is done
Donkey cough
When you are broke
No money
Donkey don't eat
Everything stops
Earth can't turn
Have to have money
Even some to burn

Money money money
Where did it go?
Pocket is empty
And I just got paid
Maybe my woman took it
Thought I had it made
Thought I had a hundred
But I don't have twenty
Now I am in trouble
I have to leave yard
But I can't leave
If I don't have any

What a thing this is
Money! money! money!
Eh!

Sucker

for a poem
to be itchy
it must be
a flea,

Socrates
proposed gnats
those hurting
biting gnats

when i first read it
in the dialogues
courtesy of Plato
i felt
this cow in me

coward,
cow-pea, cowed
in a
barn
milked like
a woman

i dread that
feeling
but it is
real
that i begin
to moooo

nonetheless
i cannot help
but just be back
into a
man without
use to
anyone
in my own chosen
freedom

there is Socrates
with all his dignity
intact

who did not get to be
old enough
to really
befriend death

i too propose
gnats, and fleas
and
lice

suckers of wisdom
from the
head of this
universe

Endlessly Jealous

Jealousy, endlessly
Sweeps through my mind
Jealousy, often causes me to
Be unkind
Im sorry I said that
Im sorry I did that
Im sorry I hit you
Im sorry, Im sorry
Endlessly jealous of you
Being endlessly jealous of me
The man that you thought I could be turning red
With jealousy
Endlessly jealousy
Eats through my skull
Endlessly jealousy
Makes me feel dull
Fighting
Endless jealous fighting
I feel my fingers tightening
Tightening, please dont break her arm
Jealously thinking of you
Of your endless possession of me
Of my jealousy, endlessly, jealousy, endlessly
Jealous of you
Sorry, running to a phone to say
Im sorry, running out of dimes
The phone on the street spits at me
Have a good day
Sorry, please you know how I am sorry
Ive been this way for
Oh, so long, endlessly, zealously
Jealous of you
Jealousy, endlessly
Eats through my mind
Jealousy, endlessly
Makes me be unkind
Im sorry I said that
Im sorry I did that
Im sorry I hit you
Im sorry, Im sorry
Endlessly jealous of you
Being endlessly jealous of me
Endlessly jealous of you being endlessly
Jealous of me
Endlessly jealous of you
Endlessly jealous of you
Endlessly jealous of you
Endlessly jealous of you

Mommy And Daddy

by Micky Dolenz

M: ...or we could do...
C: Ha-ha, Micky, just do what they want...
CR: Do, uh, do both of these again...
Well, I'm an angry man, I sing an angry song,
Tell you, honey, it won't be long,
Well, I'll pack my bags, get out of here
With my guitar and a case of beer.
Well I'm going north and I'm going south,
Tell you, honey, better shut your mouth,
Well, I'll kick your head from here to hell,
You better know I can do it well.
Midnight train, rambling, rambling,
All night long I'm gambling, gambling,
Losing all my money, well, it really ain't so funny, hon,
Midnight train, rambling, rambling,
All night long I'm gambling, gambling,
Tell you what baby, well you better be moving on.
Well I really don't know I'm going for sure,
Ain't got a map and it ain't no tour,
I'm just heading out for the open sky,
Who knows, I might even die.
Well, don't you worry your pretty little head,
I never give a damn what I did or said,
That's why I'm packing to leave this place,
Can't stand to look at your cheating face.
Midnight train, rambling, rambling,
All night long I'm gambling, gambling,
Losing all my money, well, it really ain't so funny, hon,
Midnight train, rambling, rambling,
All night long I'm gambling, gambling,
Tell you what baby, well you better be moving on.
Well you treated me like a little boy
And you played around like I was a toy,
Guess you thought I'd have the blues,
Look whose crying, guess you lose.

All night long I'm gambling, gambling,
Losing all my money, well, it really ain't so funny, hon,

To The Full Time Student In The College Of Law...

as you were taking the midterm examination
on double jeopardy and
search and seizures i was looking at you
closely,

you are so lucky to have with you
supportive parents, friends,
you have all the recent books, the
latest car, the personal computer
the laptop that you carry,
the complicated cell phone

then you were swinging your head
rolling your eyes and scratching your head
on such a hard examination as you claim it to be

beside you is Dan, working student,
poor family, dead father, mother is a plain housewife,
and why on earth is he doing well
in fact, excelling in this endeavor....

such an irony, but i am not surprised
i've been there.

seeing myself in Dan.

Unwanted Gift.

Carmody said
what did you get
your old man
for his birthday?

well
you said
my sister and I
saved up

what money we could
siphoned off
some of our pocket money
took back

the empty beer bottles
to the off licence
did extra chores
for our mother

and went bought him
some cigarettes
and gave them to him
what did he say?

Carmody asked
said he didn't smoke
that kind
said they made

his throat sore
that was what he said?
yes and my sister
was upset of course

and went off
to her room to cry
but I just said
but it's the thought

that counts
and we just thought
you'd smoke the cigarettes
look ok thanks

for the thought
the old man said
and took the packet
and stuffed them

in his pocket
and read
the birthday card
we'd both written him

and put it on the table
and said
how much did you get
on the empty bottles?

so I told him
and he said
they were my bottles
I ought to

have had the money
for them kid
you have
I told him

In the form
of the cigarettes
what did he say
about that?

Carmody asked
he just stared
and took the cigarettes
out and opened them up

and lit one
and inhaled
and coughed
and I thought

good job too
and walked away
and Carmody
nodded his head

and sniggered
and you went off
with him to kick
around the ball

in the playground
at school
and said nothing
much more at all.

Triple Homicide

I'm glad the fighting's stopped
the house is silent
empty
this is how I like it

no yelling
no fights
no broken glass
silence

when they're both gone I'm happy
but when they come home
I go straight to my room
I try to be quiet
as I listen to music in the closet

the fight begins
there screaming
this time I hear my name
I ignore it
not wanting to join the fight

my dad bursts in yelling for me
my window left open he screams
he thinks I'm gone
I thought quickly
as my mom ran in

silence
silence
silence

my dad yells again
at my crying mom
I cry silently
as she's pulled from the room
screaming

I hear a gunshot and I jump
grabbing a pocket knife
from my jacket

the cries stop
then another shot
a loud thump
as a body falls

I climb out of the closet
knife in hand
blood pouring out my
parents bedroom door

silence

I open the door and see two
bodies on the floor
a gun in my father's hand

silence
silence
silence

then sirens
and cops coming around the corner
so I take the gun from my dad
hold it to my head
a loud pop
then
silence
silence
silence
t he cops would
call this a triple homicide
or double homicide and suicide
but I call this
a family
who needed help

Wait a minute wait a minute

You thought I was strange well just look at me now
If you are lucky Ill play in your city
And you can come see me if you got the...
Somebody stole all my clothes that I like to wear

I Don't Know To.....

I read a lot,
to give food
to my thought.
I tamed wild cat,
with my love,
and care I had.
But, I don't know,
to straighten
a dog's tail oh!
Nor I can cover,
an open mouth of a
dirty gutter.
My Sunprincess,
let him do which he
only can do more or less! !
He is precious not cheap,
in this decent world of poets,
the poisonous seed, only he can reap.
So, he is precious,
having his one man army-
Dirty, Demonic, Ferocious.

Reflection Of A Shiny Object (*)

Make as much money as I can…
That's my ideology.
Let the blood drip through
These dead fingers…
My money is as dirty
As my mind…
I don't care about love
Much less making it…
I don't know how to love myself…
Much less how to love someone else.
I live for the green…
I'm so lost…
This is all I got…
How can anyone love this?
How can anyone love what I've become?
I underestimate myself…
But no!
I can do so much with money…
I can travel around…
The people around me,
Will envy me…
And not actually travel with me…
But I'll make them envy me…
You don't understand!
I have nothing left!
Best things in life are free…?
Ha! No such thing!
The good has a high price tag on it…
You buy it…
And then…
And then it becomes yours…
All mine!
Yeah, all mine.
Mine…
Mine…
Am I sounding like a two year old?
No…
I need to get my share!
You never know what can happen…
There's nothing else inside…
Empty…
Why?
Why do I feel so empty?
So angry?
They just would never get me...
Never…
They seem like good people though…
Oh, but they probably didn't have it as bad as me…
I have a reason to be this way!
They don't know what it's like to be me!
Because they're not me!
We have nothing in common!
Nothing!
Well…
We look pretty similar…
Have the same emotions…
But no!
We're very different!
Different stories!
If only I could have all the money in the world…
I would make people bow in front of me…
Kiss my feet…
Since there's no god…
I can play god…
They'll fall for it…
They always do…
Ha! I'm so clever!
I can barely contain myself!
…
You know…I just don't give a f***!
I don't give a f*** about children!
I don't give a f*** about women!
I don't give a f*** about f***ing trees!
Trees…chop them up and make me some money!
Ha! I'm so clever!
I hate those savages…
Those hippy a**holes…
They don't know how good it is to have power…
That's why they don't want it…
Yeah…that's exactly why they don't want it…
They just like listening to rock and roll…
Touching each other's hair with those dirty hands…
They're so stupid…
Seriously…I don't know how they can live with themselves…
You know? For being so stupid…
And dirty...
With their dancing…
And singing…
What the f***, right?
Grow the f*** up!
Get a nice car, nice house…
Travel all over the world…
Never look like a loser…
Never!
So embarrassing to be poor…
Damn…I'd rather die before being poor…
But how do they look so happy without money?
They're just stupid…
Yeah…that's why…
They don't get it…
Just don't get it…
Their nature, spiritual talk…
So boring!
They do create some crazy sh*t though…
But no…they're so stupid…
I don't even get that crazy stupid art…
Idiots…
They're idiots…
Yeah…
Hum…
Yeah…
And f***ing women…
I make them my wh*res…
Yeah…women are such wh*res…
Dumb little wh*res…
Yeah…
Yeah…
Ah…whatever…
What the f*** am I doing talking to a f***ing mirror?

The Guilty Father! !

Hope no son ever-
Has a father like me,
As my tears flow like a river-
My son yet prays for me.
Once with a nail was scratching my car-
My anger went too far,
Taking my bunch of nails-
On his hand did I nail,
And that ended our lives-
Even though we were alive,
My son lay bleeding-
My head started reeling,
On doctors bed lay-
My child covered with blanket of blood,
And my tears flowing like flood-
Ashamed of my angers height,
Praying all to be right-
Doctors words gave me a shock,
And my life, stood like a rock-
Now my son lost his hand,
Thats where my anger made him land,
He asked Dad-when will my hand grow-
And that was my life's biggest blow,
I now had a fear-
He will never want me near,
But, as I took him in my arms-
I could feel the warmth,
As I saw him lonely on the bed-
I felt so dead,
As i came out-
Saw some words on the car,
My tears rolled out-
And my heart was at par,
As i went near-
My heart began to tear,
The words became clear-
And they were so dear,
It simply said-
Dad- I Love You.

When There Is No Money

WHEN THERE IS NO MONEY
When there is no money
The children wail from starvation
As the wife nags madly
even the soup tastes sour

Penury is the master
Rejection is the brother
The husband's name is dejection
Hope is the breath

When there is no money
The house is taken over by mice
And the bed by bugs, fleas and lice
Even dogs weep from deprivation

Love dies, hatred persists
Friends disappear and relatives are no more
The look around the home is hungry and haggard
When there is no money

Keep Gambling

Keep gambling
As questions
Instinctive living
Memories go blunt
Dark slums

Keep gambling
Survival game
Gets beyond guts
On the street
Dead mother floating
Religious riot

Keep gambling
A small hope of love
Running hiding
Betrayals of friends
Masters and jealousies

Keep gambling
Satire and irony
Hardest reality
Brute law
Third world slum
In urbanity
Away the fantasy
Platoon of dancers

Keep gambling
To find answers
Follow the signs
From the past
As life unravels

Keep gambling
In faith
Nothing as adverse
Nothing so unusual
Broken sword
Of fate
Never let it a chance
To kill

Keep gambling
For life itself
From life itself

Lost Innocence

The small boy sits in the corner
waiting for his father into return.
He is afraid to move about,
He might be punished for that also.
He believes his father
will bring him something good.
But when his dad walks through the door,
all he has is the bottle in his hand.
He runs to embrace his father
and receives a blow to the head.
When the fragile child awakens,
He is in much pain.
His drunken father lies on the couch,
without a care in the world.
He returns slowly and quietly
To his darkened corner,
And says to himself
'Wouldn't it be great if my father loved me,
More than the bottle in his hand.'

You've Got Her In Your Pocket

You've got her in your pocket
And there's no way out now
Put it in the safe and lock it
'cause it's at home sweet home
Nobody ever told you that it was the wrong way
To trick a woman, make her feel she did it her way
And you'll be there if she ever feels blue
And you'll be there when she FINDS someone new
What to do
Well you know
You keep her in your pocket
Where there's no way out now
Put it in a safe a lock it
'cause it's home sweet home
The smile on your face made her think she had the right one
Then she thought she was sure
By the way you two could have fun
But now she might leave
like she's threatened before
grab hold of her fast
before her feet leave the floor
and she's out the door
Cause you want,
To keep you in my pocket
Where there's no way out now
Put it in a safe a lock it
'cause it's home sweet home
And in your own mind
You know you're lucky just to know her
And in the beginning all you wanted was to show her
But now your scared
You think she's running away
You're searching your head for something clever to say
Dont go away
Cause i want,
To keep you in my pocket
where there's no way out
put it in the safe and lock it
cos' it's home sweet home
Home sweet home

Forgetting

Do you remember when I got mad at you for biting your nails? You went on biting then no matter what I’d say. Do you remember the signs we made to go with the phrase ‘peace out diggity dog’? It was your idea to add a dig and I thought it threw everything off. We had secret words and just things that set us apart from other friends back then.
What I remember from the first day that we met was you and your brother were shy but I liked you at first. I made you my enemy right away and you pledged the same hate to me on Valentines Day. It wasn’t til he did the same to me; your crush (my friend) we plotted out his death when you came along. Here let me help-
Won’t you remember how we helped each other through all those boring lectures and let each other copy homework secretly and we cheated, talked during class, and I knew your password (I still do) . It was great until you got that giant head, forgot all that we’d said. Now not a day goes by that what we were crosses my mind, or that awful day that you saw me cry (the day Zach died) .
Now I’ll remember how it felt when you held me tight, we talked on the phone until late at night. I wrote your notes when you broke your arm; as you did for me when I had hives and was alarmed. We were picked on by our teachers, it was you that took it hard. We got older, it got different, everything started to change, now here I am trying to arrange a way, to go back to seventh grade.
Do you still bite your nails? Ruining those hands that mine seem to fit into perfectly, in memories.

To waste away my life
I want you to have all the things I could never buy you
So dont stop what Id begun

The Return of Albert

You've 'eard 'ow young Albert Ramsbottom,
In the Zoo up at Blackpool one year,
With a stick and 'orse's 'ead 'andle,
Gave a lion a poke in the ear.

The name of the lion was Wallace,
The poke in the ear made 'im wild;
And before you could say 'Bob's your Uncle,'
'E'd up and 'e'd swallered the child.

'E were sorry the moment 'e'd done it,
With children 'e'd always been chums,
And besides, 'e'd no teeth in 'is noodle,
And 'e couldn't chew Albert on t'gums.

'E could feel the lad moving inside 'im,
As 'e lay on 'is bed of dried ferns,
And it might 'ave been little lad's birthday,
'E wished 'im such 'appy returns.

But Albert kept kicking and fighting,
Till Wallace arose feeling bad,
And felt it were time that 'e started to stage
A come-back for the lad.

So with 'is 'ead down in a corner,
On 'is front paws 'e started to walk,
And 'e coughed and 'e sneezed and 'e gargled,
Till Albert shot out like a cork.

Old Wallace felt better direc'ly,
And 'is figure once more became lean,
But the only difference with Albert
Was 'is face and 'is 'ands were quite clean.

Meanwhile Mister and Missus Ramsbottom
'Ad gone 'ome to tea feeling blue;
Ma says 'I feel down in the mouth like,'
Pa says "Aye! I bet Albert does too.'

Said Ma 'It just goes for to show yer
That the future is never revealed,
If I thought we was going to lose 'im
I'd 'ave not 'ad 'is boots soled and 'eeled.

'Let's look on the bright side,' said Father
'What can't be 'elped must be endured,
Every cloud 'as a silvery lining,
And we did 'ave young Albert insured.'

A knock at the door came that moment,
As Father these kind words did speak,
'Twas the man from t'Prudential,
E'd called for their 'tuppence per person per week.'

When Father saw who 'ad been knocking,
'E laughed and 'e kept laughing so,
That the young man said 'What's there to laugh at?'
Pa said 'You'll laugh an' all when you know.'

'Excuse 'im for laughing,' said Mother,
'But really things 'appen so strange,
Our Albert's been ate by a lion,
You've got to pay us for a change.'

Said the young feller from the Prudential,
'Now, come come, let's understand this,
You don't mean to say that you've lost 'im?'
Ma says 'Oh, no! we know where 'e is.'

When the young man 'ad 'eard all the details,
A bag from 'is pocket he drew,
And he paid them with interest and bonus,
The sum of nine pounds four and two.

Pa 'ad scarce got 'is 'and on the money,
When a face at the window they see,
And Mother says 'Eeh! look, it's Albert,'
And Father says 'Aye, it would be.'

Young Albert came in all excited,
and started 'is story to give,
And Pa says 'I'll never trust lions again,
Not as long as I live.'

The young feller from the Prudential
To pick up his money began,
And Father says 'Eeh! just a moment,
Don't be in a hurry, young man.'

Then giving young Albert a shilling,
He said 'Pop off back to the Zoo.
'Ere's your stick with the 'orse's 'ead 'andle,
Go and see what the Tigers can do!'

Still Smiling........

Smiled When Mother Took Me Into Her Arms For The First Time,
Smiled When Saw World Outside The Hospital For The First Time,
Smiled Whenever Went To School,
Smiled Even Being Laughed At....
And Called A Fool....
Smiled When Stood First In The Class,
Smiled When I Wasn't Misunderstood..... At Last!
Smiled When My Poem Was Said Wow!
Smiled When Realised That Only Day Is Today....
And Time Is Now......
Smiled When Got My 'True' Love,
Smiled As I Always Felt We Are Two Doves,
Smiled Even When Came To Know He's Not Mine,
Smiled Even When He Married My Friend.....
And Raised A Toast Of Wine,
Smiled Even When Lost Every Hope,
Smiled Even When Wasn't Able To Cope,
Smiled Even When Knew My End Is Near,
Smiled And Enjoyed Cutting My Nerve.......
No Fear...............
Smiled At Every Moment Of My Life,
Whenever, Wherever And Never Cried.............

But Now, I'm Lying Under A White Cover,
Father Putting Me On Fire.........
With No Blessings Left To Shower.....
People Around Have Nothing To Do With My Death
But Are Crying.........
And I'm............
Still Smiling.................................
