Four walls, compact kitchen.
Looking outside

Little girl sits in the corner, locked in a stare.
Arms waving madly at something that sadly isnt there.
Dressed in the days best by a nurse whos nowhere to be found.
What does she see?
Maybe shes looking at me...
Old man is strapped to the seat of his chair, wearing a gown.
Shouting and cursing at someone who clearly isnt around.
Father time has twisted his mind.
The staff says, hes not well!
To whom does he speak?
Maybe hes speaking to me...
So we keep these people inside these walls, from society.
Their forgotten lives safe from the crowd, they cant leave.
Youve left them there with me.

Wearing stripes, arms up high, as tall as can be,
Nothing more than a frozen smile to see.
In the cage hell defy all thats logical.
Under lights, stay up all night with his formula.
In the grip in the step of potential rage.

As windows look out on windows here
They have to be kept closed often
Even if the sun and zephyr cannot enter,
When I'm tired of the walls
The television, the kitchen and the humdrum
I throw them open,
Catching eyes or movement,
On the other side
Now hurriedly shutting me out,
It's difficult to make friends -
No tenant stays for long
Next door or at the opposite window,
Perhaps driven to the suburbs
By the rent
Or opting for a city
With fewer desires -

What kind of a man goes after a married woman
What kind of a man does it and proclaims his faith in GOD

Abstain From It
What is this all about?
Is it safe sex or, commercial sex?
And, how are they educating us with these contraceptives ads?
I am a woman and i know what it takes but,
What about you?
What is this all about?
You are a man and you know what it takes;
But go to the streets and you will see things for your own eyes,
Because the commercial sex is booming!
And the big companies are making their respective profits along the line.
Do they think that they are educating us with all these ads?
Then, they should think twice;
For there are more businesses done in the name of safe sex,
And it had rather increased the sex life style of all mankind.
Oh mankind, let us try to know the naked truth behind these ads;
For it is better to abstain from sex than burn in it!
And a close distance to hell is what Aids does to us.
Sex is to all and sex goes on around with us unprotected,
But Aids is the disease the ends the time with us;
For the lust of our eyes have taken us far away from the truth!
And now the moon is blacked-out in complete darkness.
Out imaginations are limitless but Aids had closed up on mankind!
With intermittent flashes to catch up to the truth;
And the youth today do have their own type of answers than thought,
But to abstain from sex is better than to easily die in the name of lust! !
The ads speak like an angel but acts like a devil around us!
But sometimes things do not go the way we expected them to;
And as we use rulers to map out straight lines,
So are the rules of life straight from the Creator to us! !
And we need to return to ourselves to make some changes.

The incunabula of television,
Crystal palace, lipstick and clipped tones,
Muffin the Mule, then finally the flicks
crammed into tubes, inferior Bibles, cloned,
invaded all our evenings. Television
will kill the cinema! doom-pundits cried,
erroneously. We, mesmerised, pie-eyed,
in small square post-utility sitting rooms,
witnessed the small square triumph of the box,
Stevenson's toy theatre, exaggerating life.
Coach became pumpkin at eleven o'clock,
rooms shrank, books closed, bare remnants of the plot.
Goodnight. Remember to switch off your set.
The screen collapsed into a small white dot.

The Police Officer's Wife
He goes to work early everyday
For him to be safe is what I pray
He often works late, not a set time
He stays busy on the streets, fighting crime
He has a whole family that loves him too
The most honorable man that I ever knew
Lots of people are bad, must protect the city
Catching crooks isn't fun or very pretty
His job makes us feel safe in our home
He makes a point to find them, where ever they roam
So please dear god, keep him safe tonight
And let him not have to get into a fight

The family around the table and a silence
so compact no words can break it.
Not even a pigeon swirling through the window
can nudge mother's poorly taped grin.
Her face has the euphoric glow of a mathematician
whispering a formula into the whorl of a rose.
Her eyes are tiny stones testing the black
silk bags she lugs them in.
Since father banned television the sons stare
at the marriage dangling from the ceiling.
Each month it sinks another couple inches
until it's in their food.
No wonder they don't eat.
