Ode to the USS New York

September morn
Oh how we wailed
We felt protected
but ultimately failed
As we forged this ship
Our minds were set
Always Remember
Never Forget

Remember, Remember The Eleventh of September (9-11 poem)

Remember, Remember
The Eleventh of September,
The year: Two thousand and one
Never forget the day
That we lost
And they won

Four airliners
Flying at hundred miles per hour
At the hands of self-proclaimed martyrs
Became weapons of mass destruction

People died
That should have lived
Some as heroes, most were victims
Robbed of what could have been

Remember, Remember
The Eleventh of September,
The year: Two thousand and one
Never forget the day,
How we all felt
Not only the horror
Or our justified anger
But how we came together
As one nation
Transformed

Although there had been plenty of warning beforehand
Of the threat that was Usama Bin Laden
Our failure to stop the plot in its tracks
That showed how vulnerable we were to attack
We took the blow
And bounced right back!

A commission followed
There were talks, reprimands and apologies
Leading to the conclusion:
‘Failure to communicate! ’
After which we vowed
Never to repeat the mistake

Remember, Remember
The Eleventh of September,
The year: Two thousand and one
Never forget the day,
The week, the world
Joined us in mourning;
Showing we were not alone.
Unity of effort and unity of purpose
Is how we will prevail
Against those who wish us woe
Everywhere
Never forget
The resolve of iron of our nation
The strength we have in our allies
Remember
Not only the loss
But what is yet to be won

Forgetting To Never Forget

September 11th 2001,
Only a child of five years,
Now 13,
Now I cant remember,
Now I have forgotten,
I cant remember what I was doing,
I cant remember how I felt,
The worse day of Amarican history,
And I will never remember,
I'll know it was there,
I'll know it was horrid,
I'll just never remember me,
I have forgotten,
To never forget,

September

If there's a month to remember
it must be September
and remember it we do.
For the summer has baked all in its sight
and we are ready for the view
of cooler days
and apples to munch,
and cider to drink
along with our lunch
The days will grow shorter
and the nights will linger
and sweaters and scarves will be worn.
The moon in the sky will start to turn orange.
And we'll remember September in the morn.
Yes the month of September, the one we remember
makes me happy that I was born.

September

Maurice white, charles stepney & verdine white
Do you remember the 21st night of september?
Love was changing the minds of pretenders
While chasing the clouds away
Our hearts were ringing
In the key that our souls were singing.
As we danced in the night,
Remember how the stars stole the night away
Ba de ya - say do you remember
Ba de ya - dancing in september
Ba de ya - never was a cloudy day
My thoughts are with you
Holding hands with your heart to see you
Only blue talk and love,
Remember how we knew love was here to stay
Now december found the love that we shared in september.
Only blue talk and love,
Remember the true love we share today
Ba de ya - say do you remember
Ba de ya - dancing in september
Ba de ya - never was a cloudy day
Ba de ya - say do you remember
Ba de ya - dancing in september
Ba de ya - golden dreams were shiny days

What will you Remember

As the red white and blue wave through the air on Memorial Day what will you remember. Will you remember just the towers falling on September 11,2001 and all the hundreds of lives lost but as you remember them don’t forget four thousand plus coffins that has come home with the red white and blue draped upon all in the name of justice. Will you remember the hundreds of families in America that has been torn apart because of September 11 and if you do don’t forget there are just as many Iraq Families torn apart because of this war on terrorism. When I wake up tomorrow morning on Memorial Day you know what I going to try to remember a world were war is not the answers but forgiveness that brings peace.

The Ghost of Tower Two

The piled debris had been removed
The smell of death was gone
The first time she appeared to me
one cool September morn

Translucent and ethereal, to my disbelieving eye
Like many a wingless angel who’d tried and failed to fly
Whatever was she doing here, why now and not before
peering in my window on the forty second floor.

I felt a chill – a sense of dread I’d never felt before
My superstitious peasant brain was coming to the fore.
And yet I sensed no threat of doom, no anger out of you
floating there before me, the ghost of tower two.

There was sadness in your eyes for all you had foregone
Deprived of youth and love and life-all vanished now and gone
As morning light began to glow you faded from my view
But I will not forget you soon, the ghost of tower two.

Perhaps she’s seeking closure, the discovery of a bone
Or has unfinished business that keeps her here alone
Or maybe we’ve forgotten them- what we promised not to do
And deserve now to be haunted by the ghost of tower two.

I Remember You

I remember you
I remember me
I remember
I remember how things used to be
I remember every word that you said
I remember, how could I forget
I remember, I remember you
(I remember, I remember)
I remember you
I remember your old address
And I remember
How could I forget
I remember thinking how my luck changed
I remember being so amazed
I remember, I remember you
(I remember, I remember)
I remember, I remember you
(I remember, I remember)
I remember you
I remember me
I remember
The way things used to be
I remember how it was that we met
I remember, I will never forget
I remember, I remember you
(I remember, I remember)
I remember, I remember you
(I remember, I remember)
I remember, I remember you
(I remember, I remember)
I remember, I remember you
(I remember, I remember)
I remember, I remember you

One September Day

Years, they will come and go
Sometimes the tears will flow
Some of my memories will fade
But I'll always remember that one September day
I used to reminisce
'Cause I thought that love was bliss
How did they know it would go astray
It began and it ended on one September day
We met by chance
As people often do
But it blossomed, yes it blossomed
Into something I never knew
Now... It is in the past
They said it would never last
I'll not forget the moment back
Nor hot May or December
Nor June or November
But one September day

Remember September

I can see you when the rains come
In a flood of memory
And I go back
To that place where love was new
To those days of me and you
We thought would never end...
Remember september
And the promise of love we made
Believing forever
Nothing in this world would ever change
Everything we felt would stay the same...
Can you see me like you once did
Can I touch you like before
cos I need you
Even more than I did then
Put your kisses on my skin
Forever in my soul...
Remember september
And the promise of love we made
Believing forever
Nothing in this world would ever change
Everything we felt would stay the same
Ooh my love...
I still want you...
Ooh my love...
Remember september
And the promise of love we made
Believing forever
Nothing in this world would ever change
Everything we felt would stay the same...
