No Eulogies For Life

Don't want any funeral,
viewings or floral wreaths,
no eulogies or readings
or statements of belief.

No need for weeping
from any who ever knew me;
nor attendance required
from those who only screwed me.

THIS mortal life is what I lay down
to rest here in this sod;
but all that makes me who I am
has returned back home to God.

All Screwed Up

(young - young)
Get ready
You think your kinda tough
Youre walkin kinda rough
When you want any more
You go fast wo wo wo
Things go tough
And you strut your stuff
And I want your thing
Then youre out of luck
Yes you are
Its all screwed up
All screwed up
Its all screwed up
All screwed up
Take you out to kick some butt
Work you over screw you nuts
And when you cant take no more
Then she push you out that door
And things go hard
Like a dog gone mad
She can pack some punch
Then youre out to lunch, back at one
Its all screwed up
All screwed up
Its all screwed up
All screwed up
Its all screwed up
Its all screwed up
Cant tell Im comin
All screwed up, yeah
I said its all screwed up
All screwed up, yeah
Said youre all screwed up
All screwed up
Its all screwed up, yes it is
All screwed up
Its all screwed up
All screwed up
Screwed up
Its all screwed up
Its all screwed up
Said you think you got some balls
But youre always out to lunch
Its all screwed up
Its all screwed up
Its all screwed up, yes it is
All screwed up
Its all screwed up, yeah

Feels Like Home

Something in your eyes makes me want to lose myself
Makes me want to lost myself in your arms
Theres something in your voice makes my heart beat fast
Hope this feeling lasts
The rest of my life
If you knew how lonely my life has been
And how long Ive felt so low
If you knew how I wanted someone to come along
And change my life the way youve done
Chorus:
Feels like home to me
Feels like home to me
Feels like Im all the way back where I come from
Feels like home to me
Feels like home to me
Feels like Im all the way back where I belong
A window breaks down a long dark street
And a siren walls in the night
But Im alright cause I have you here with me
And I can almost see through the dark theres light
If you knew how much this moment means to me
And how long Ive waited for your touch
If you knew how happy you are making me
Ive never thought Id love anyone so much
Repeat chorus

Straight Road

Here our statements end. We are finished, and holy. The roads are long and tight, straight and right, much to the belief and faith. Here our statements end. We are finished, wholly effective and versatile is the end of forced life. And where are you based?

How important a woman is!

Visit a funeral where it was of a man.
Visit a funeral where it was of his wife.
Take attendance and count the mourners.
It will tell how important the woman had been.

Back To The River Of Beli

The rivers of belief
(curly m.c./david fairstein)
Take me back to the rivers of belief
Take me back to the rivers of belief
My friend
I look inside my heart
I look inside my soul
I promise you
I will return
And when the lamb opened the seventh seal
Silence covered the sky
Take me back to the rivers of belief
Take me back to the rivers of belief
My friend
I look inside my heart
I look inside my soul
Im reaching out for you
Lets hope one day
Well rest in peace
On my rivers of belief

Picture Verses

1.

God looks down and lifts us on his hands.

2.

Here reminds me of our vow
Only me
In front of the altar
Kneeling for you

3.

He waits
To rest after a day’s work
I would like to chat
And ask what makes him happy
And still -

If I could hold his hands
We’d talk till brightness fades
From the post
And the sun peeps
And the sun warms our hearts

4.

I have always thought
That cars following another is a funeral parade

Not trains
Not traffic

You at the front, and
I am at the back
Scary etch of wheels
Back to the hollow ground.

5.

You have let me ride your back
Many times

Crossed streets
Forests
Flood
Valleys
I have embraced all that
Held you
Day and night

To the funeral you carried me
To the temple we swore-
Love running
Paths of life

A Wake In the Barrio

Funeral wakes in our barrio
Are simple but picturesque

Amidst boiling cauldrons of
Rice porridge with strips of tripes

A gathering of mourners intone their grief
While downing jugs of native grog

The sakla master shuffles the deck
Cards bearing luck not auguring death

Children past bedtime hours scaring
Each other while hiding under the casket

Wilted floral wreaths line up the walls
Like sentinels with nauseous breaths

The honored one somber in slumber
Indifferent to the homage paid him

The widow worries about the collection
Fingers the knotted hankie bulging with coins

Will there be enough to pay in the morrow
The brass band engaged to liven the sorrow?

Oh, but her eldest will arrive from LA tonight
Bringing US aid, then there's nothing to fear

Picture yourself behind the coffin's misted glass
A life well led but ended with trifling ceremony

Funeral wakes in the barrio will always be the same
As if I care, but I wish they can do better on my turn.

Stained And Even

It was only one dirty word
You had thrown in my face
My right eye caught it like it
Were a hand
My tears carried the word
Like a virus to my veins
Infecting all my organs
As I got sick the following days
Of my life

I know what happens next
But I cannot just die until
I vomit that dirty word
That now I throw back
At you, then the rest becomes
History,

Some eulogies are written
As a compromise
Of this hate,
This one is for you
That you rest in peace
As I wait
For my own peace too
In my own time sooner
Than tomorrow.

Finally she asks if I am sick and dying

How can I answer her?
Everybody is dying
From the moment one is born
He begins to count his steps to his grave
He begins to save money for his funeral
What makes him sick
Is the belief that he is healthy and wise
He will not die someday like the rest

To think that one is not sick
Is sickening enough
Not to think about death
That It comes anytime
Anywhere
Is sickening enough.

Way Back Home

A little girl was cryin
For her mama and her daddy
She couldnt understand why they were gone
She never knew the danger
Of talking to a stranger
Now the girl cant find her way back home
A little boy went walkin
Down to the corner market
To buy a loaf of bread and an ince cream cone
He never knew the dnager
Of talkin to a stranger
Now the boy cant find the way back home
Chorus:
Too many kids are missin
Is anybody listening?
Wont you be the childrens eyes
Theyre all alone
The hardest parts not knowing
Where they are or where theyre going
Wont you help the children find
The way back home
The faces on milk cartons
Thrown away and soon forgotten
What if one of those sweet kids
Was your very own
Tonight those kids are weeping
While yours are safely sleeping
Wont you help the children find
The way back home
Chorus
Wont you help the children find
The way back home

To The Funeral

I came home to the funeral,
Liking the battles of weeping,
For the burial had no impulse,
A little man was about to see us.

He altered the scene for times
That altered us as people of death,
The death was supposed to be wrong,
That death altered the pleasure.

May we see black colours
And then white colours of surrender,
The matter was to sympathise with,
Starting to last for a decade.

Let his return be to our eyes,
And let the kitchen come for food;
The whole battle with the deaths
Brought a doctrine of belief.

Transcendence

Once in our lifetime we celebrate
life in laughter and in joy,
at another time, the celebration
comes like a weeping over a bitter cup
Then again, we yearn for wholeness
that which we call, the original state.

What is it beyond our bodies
we want to migrate from?
What is it beyond our minds
we want to grasp?
What is it within us
that is so restless?
What is beyond our time and space?

Is it that makes life mortal, immortal?
Is it that makes finitude, an infinity?
Is it an eternity that calls us
beyond rubles or bitter cups?
Is it God within and beyond us?
