no Krishna to save
Mother Earth - stripped
of her green sari
[Notes: In the epic of Mahabharata, Dusshasana, the accomplice brother of the evil and greedy Duryodhana tries to strip Draupadi, the polyandrous wife of the Pandavas in the royal court, as a fallout of a fraudulent game of dice. Lord Sri Krishna, at a far away place, hears her wailing supplication and turns her sari indefinite in its length and protects her honour.]

Lord Krishna
O my Lord! O my Krishna!
Hare Krishna! Hare Krishna!
You are the embodiment of love
you are the divine joy,
you are protector of the religion
all pain and sin, you destroy.
Hare Krishna! Hare Krishna!
Wicked and cruel king Kansa
put your parents in prison.
You released them from jail
appeared as Vishnu's incarnation.
Hare Krishna! Hare Krishna!
As child you led cow herds
had great love for your mother
Grown with magic of your flute
as hero loved by peers and others
Hare Krishna! Hare Krishna!
Kansa sent sinful Putana to kill you
by feeding breast's poisoned milk.
She herself was met to her end
you sucked blood, failed her trick.
Hare Krishna! Hare Krishna!
He was desperate to kill my Lord
So he sent many other demons.
You defeated all of the demons
killed his wicked men one by one.
Hare Krishna! Hare Krishna!
Supported villagers and cattle,
lifted mountain to make shelter,
You killed poisonous snake in river
where cattle used to drink water.
Hare Krishna! Hare Krishna!
Always blessed, who followed your path
taught Arjuna lessons of truth and war.
You turned result of Mahabharat war
into the victory of righteous Pandwas.
Hare Krishna! Hare Krishna!
You come on earth again and again
to save it; in various incarnations.
Without you my Lord! I am nothing
in this universe, nothing can happen.

Games, Gambling and Wars!
Playing game as training before waging war well
Kings, soldiers and all guys spent time in Chess!
As brave soldiers going to Mahabharata war then
All witness cricket players entering the field now!
Betting on cricket players go on outside the field
While spectators encouraging players as on arena!
Betting on horses in horse race after taking loan
There is no chance of knowing victory or defeat!
When game becomes serious after defeat both
Debtors and debtees have real fight to death now!
Same thing happened in Mahabharata epic too!
After dice game opponent became ruler ordering
Slaves spend 12 yrs. in forest and 1 yr. in incognito;
Then real war between Gauravas and Pandavas
Brought Lord Krishna to make dharma settle all!
If game becomes real act universal disaster is sure!
Games should foster friendship but not enmity ever;
Gambling should be banned for good of mankind sure!

(Meera) The Early Life Of Meera
Rajputs took ’Sati’ as a sacred one
For any live widowed woman
To burn herself in the fire
With her husband in the pyre
Meera was young still.
Lo, it was God’s will
That brought the end
Of Rathan Singh who died.
Her mother, Chandramugi
Went to join him in sati.
But Rao Dudha prevented it
For Meera’s sake, out right.
As Dudha, her grandfather,
Was too old to take care,
It fell on her mother
To care more for her,
A big crowd stood once
Outside the palace entrance
To receive red saris for women
And coarse dhotis for men.
A woman took a sari,
And asked for a dhoti.
As her husband was sick
He couldn’t come to take.
Next to her came Meera,
Asking for a sari from Dudha.
He refused to give her one,
As it was for a poor woman..
When Meera was stubborn,
Laughingly he gave her one.
Again for a dhoti she asked,
The one for her dear husband.
Dudha, who was surprised,
Asked, “Who’s your husband? ”
Promptly she then replied.
“Krishna is my husband.”
Chandramugi explained him,
How Meera had this dream,
How, one day, as a child
Lord Krishna she married.
On the girl’s passion
And her spiritual vision,
Happy they were first,
But became worried at last.
“How can a silent idol
Marry this mad girl?
Is it really possible?
What’s God’s will? ”
So said her mother
To her grandfather,
Who could understand
Her passion as a child.
He said, “When she grows old,
Reality she’ll understand.
Now, she’s only a child
To know about this world.”
But for the girl Meera,
She felt herself Radha,
Krishna’s beloved Consort
In the Dwaraka Resort.
Her every song revealed
Her deep thoughts inside,
As a wife of Krishna,
As Krishna’s Meera.

Story of war for love
Rukmini and Lord Krishna love each other;
But to marry king Shishupal wanted her brother.
Rukmini sends message to the Lord to come
Requesting thereby to take her along to his home.
Brother and Shishupal intercepts Krishna's path
With Krishna too is accompanied brother Balram.
Balram Lord's brother tells Rukmi, Rukmini's brother
You are robbing happiness and blessings of her.
A king she doesn't like, you decided her to marry
You are trying to trump love, that is not a country.
Shishupal and her brother Rukmi attack on them
But get defeated by Krishna and Balram in turn.
Balarama and Sishupal are involved in a mace fight,
Sishupal is badly wounded and finally gets his defeat.
Krishna punishes Rukmi by shaving off half of head
Which, the Lord feels necessary to curb his arrogance.
Lord smiles having got his Rukmini, took to his chariot
With all three of them the divine chariot drives off.

Sri Krishna
Long ago when Lord Vishnu took a new form
In order to restore Faith and Goodness on Earth
At midnight, in Mathura it was raining with thunderstorm
Devaki and Vasudev were overjoyed with their son Krishna's birth
Vasudev left infant Krishna in Gokul, at Yashoda and Nand's home
Cute and charming baby Krishna loved to play, run around and eat butter
Every prank of Krishna was talk of the town, Legends to become
Boy Krishna conquered serpent Kalinga, saved friends and Yamuna river
Kansa, Krishna's Uncle tried to kill Krishna, Krishna escaped his every ploy
All the damsels of Vrindavan, surround handsome Krishna, with adoration
Whenever Krishna played flute for his cows, every one would sway with joy
Radha the Lucky one, the Love she had, got her Krishna's adoration
Krishna freed his parents, Guided and Lead Arjuna, a win over his Kingdom
Krishna has a mesmerising and enchanting Persona and Presence
His Preachings 'Bhagavad Gita' enlightens our souls, ' Pearls of Wisdom '
Krishna lives in every heart that has Faith as the Divine essence.

As Fighter And Fought - Lord Krishna
[A scene from the hindu epic Mahabharatham
where both duryodhan and arjun come to lord
krishna for favors to sopport them in the war
KURUKSHETRA WAR]
Arjun sat near foot
duryodhan sat near his head
god in deep slumber
a war approaching
with a request both waited
god in deep slumber
Krishna wakes to see
arjun first and with a smile
'what is your request'?
he came before me
ask his request first then me
arjuna told god
turning his head to see.......
'duryodhan here too
may i know your request too'
krishna waits to hear
we need your support
you should help us in the war
duryodhan's request
krishna to duryodhan......
you may have come first
i asked arjun's request first
i shall help you both
thinking for a moment......
'duryodhan' he said
'you can have all my soldiers
whole of my army'
to arjun he said
you and your brother's have me
not as warrior
further krishna went on
i will not handle weapon
not as warrior
will be there for you
to take you around war field
as charioteer
duryodhan content
thought army was big asset
thought he got best deal
arjun content too
to have god as charoiteer
thought he got good deal
though god pleased them both
it was a war where he was
both fighter and fought
as charioteer
convinced a confused arjun
with the song of lord [BHAGAVATH GEETHAI]

Lord Krishna in a butterfly
krishna, krishna
the hindu gods
each time we meet
he dances in a butterfly
he dances in a butterfly
into the commuter train
as i went for an interview
in the house
when i moved in
krishna a butterfly
so shapely
so stylish
krishna, krishna, krishna
the world dances with it
in a million ways
and shades
dance, dance, dance
flaps, flaps, flaps
up down, down up,
so quietly it sits
in meditation at times too

Sculpting Krishna (2)
His parents guarded the temple,
answered questions; the child
wandered, looked, later read
all that was said;
now, he selects the stone,
listening all the time, hoping that
he hears the voice of Krishna say,
take this piece…
sharpens his chisel; prays;
with each tap, a chiselled prayer
rings out the question; magnified; or diminished?
chips away – outside himself, inside himself –
all that is not Krishna;
until finally, all that awaits
is the faintest sound of flute, of lightest laughter,
heard within the sculptor’s inner ear:
stone pretending to be Krishna;
Krishna, pretending to be stone.

Women hanker in sublimate.
Your mother, sister, wife, daughter
Can constantly hanker after
Krishna, a male deity,
A nonliving entity,
In their amorous sonnets.
Mind, Krishna is their sublimate.
Otherwise, you Hindus are furious.

The Lord said that the “I” in you is really me
The me in me is quite troublesome
And I know all the problems
I face is because this me
It has been a longing desire of mine
To get rid of this me
I said one day to Krishna
Let all my prayers I have offered to you
Help me getting a grant from you
Krishna said
Say that and it will be granted based on its merit
Krishna, I need only one thing
I do not require anything materialistic
My requirement is you yourself
I request you to occupy me
Totally vacating “me” from me
And you will take care of
Everything happening around me
Krishna did not answer
But, said
Hold on, your demand is quite on the higher side
Anyway I will consider it
Presently I am occupying someone else
And so I am not free to move into thee
Turning curious, I asked Krishna
Who is he and where is he?
Krishna made a smile
Did not answer and vanished
Days, weeks, months, years went by
I have been talking to Krishna all through
But I did not hear him saying a thing
The other day
I did call on Krishna
And renewed my demand
This time Krishna responded
Hi do you not know
That I have already occupied you
And I only am running things around you
Krishna, is it true?
I am not able to realize so
Things seem to have changed
I feel the same way as I used to feel earlier
I talk the same way as I used to talk earlier
I perform things the same way I used to perform earlier
I get saddened or gladdened the same way I used to get earlier
No change at all
I cannot believe what you say
A smiling Krishna said
I know you are going to say that
Now you renew your prayers
Requesting me to grant you this knowledge
Lord further said
That the “I” in you is really me
Once you land upon this realization
I will move on to another person
Who is waiting for my occupation

Happy Birth Day
With the side of the folded fist
Dipped into the batter of rice
Imprinted are the Holy Feet
Of little Krishna, 'Kolam' of providence
From the floor of the street
Via the steps along the house
Inwardly upto the 'pooja' almirah straight
Where picture of Krishna with floral garlands,
Lit holy lamps, incense, sandal paste
Sindhoor, assorted flowers, holy yellow rice,
Special fruits, varieties of milk sweet,
And snacks made of gram and rice-
'Seedai, murukku, thenkuzhal, thattai' on big plate
Are ready and the priest next invokes
Lord Ganesh, next to propitiate
Lord Krishna with all the delicious delights
Marking Krishna's birth thus devout great
Full of exultation eating the delicacies..
Krishna eating? mm..Krishna alone knows

From The Banks Of Ganga: V
I open my eyes
Non-light on the Ganga
Breaking into dawn
A la Kubja stood as if waiting
For me to open my eyes
Kabhie Krishna ko dekha?
Chalo meri saath!
Like a mute animal
I follow her into a chamber
Where a marble Krishna welcomed me
How long did I sit in His presence?
Hare Rama hare rama
Rama Rama Hare hare
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna
Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
My own chanting
Reverberating in my ears
There flowed Ganga
In bright sunlight…

A War Between Ravna And Kauravas
Rama fought Ravna and killed him.
The good prevailed over the evil.
Thus spoke Ramayana the Epic.
Pandavas fought Kauravas and killed them.

Salute To Sage Vyasar
Bhgawat Gita, the Hindus’ Bible,
Is a mere dialogue of two characters;
Krishna and Arjuna in the Epic,
Mahabhrath, written by Sage Vyasar.
The dialogue Vyasar wrote for Krishna
Is taken as command of God Krishana
And not as the wisdom of the author
By the religion with an agenda.

Maha-Bharata, The Epic Of Ancient India - Conclusion
The real Epic ends with the war and with the funerals of the deceased
warriors, as we have stated before, and Yudhishthir's Horse-Sacrifice
is rather a crowning ornament than a part of the solid edifice. What
follows the sacrifice is in no sense a part of the real Epic; it
consists merely of concluding personal narratives of the heroes who
have figured in the poem.
Dhrita-rashtra retires into a forest with his queen Gandhari, and
Pritha, the mother of the Pandav brothers, accompanies them. In the
solitude of the forest the old Dhrita-rashtra sees as in a vision
the spirits of all the slain warriors, his sons and grandsons and
kinsmen, clad and armed as they were in battle. The spirits disappear
in the morning at the bidding of Vyasa, who had called them up. At
last Dhrita-rashtra and Gandhari and Pritha are burnt to death in a
forest conflagration, death by fire being considered holy.
Krishna at Dwarka meets with strange and tragic adventures. The
Vrishnis and the Andhakas become irreligious and addicted to
drinking, and fall a prey to internal dissensions. Valadeva and
Krishna die shortly after, and the city of the Yadavas is swallowed
up by the ocean.
Then follow the two concluding Books of the Epic, the _Great Journey_
and the _Ascent to Heaven_, so beautifully rendered into English by
Sir Edwin Arnold. On hearing of the death of their friend Krishna,
the Pandav brothers place Prakshit, the grandson of Arjun, on the
throne, and retire to the Himalayas. Draupadi drops down dead on
the way, then Sahadeva, then Nakula, then Arjun, and then Bhima.
Yudhishthir alone proceeds to heaven in person in a celestial car.
There Yudhishthir undergoes some trial, bathes in the celestial
Ganges, and rises with a celestial body. He then meets Krishna, now
in his heavenly form, blazing in splendour and glory. He meets his
brothers whom he had lost on earth, but who are now Immortals in
the sky, clad in heavenly forms. INDRA himself appears before
Yudhishthir, and introduces him to others who were dear to him on
earth, and are dear to him in heaven. Thus speaks INDRA to
Yudhishthir:
'This is She, the fair Immortal! Her no human mother bore,
Sprung from altar as Draupadi human shape for thee she wore,
By the Wielder of the trident she was waked to form and life,
Born in royal Drupad's mansion, righteous man, to be thy wife,
These are bright aerial beings, went for thee to lower earth,
Borne by Drupad's stainless daughter as thy children took their birth!
This is monarch Dhrita-rashtra who doth o'er _gandharvas_ reign,
This is brave immortal Karna, erst on earth by Arjun slain,
Like the fire in ruddy splendour, for the Sun inspired his birth,
As the son of Chariot-driver he was known upon the earth!
'Midst the _Sadhyas_ and the _Maruts_, 'midst immortals pure and bright,
Seek thy friends the faithful Vrishnis matchless in their warlike might.
Seek and find the brave Satyaki who upheld thy cause so well,
Seek the Bhojas and Andhakas who in Kuru-kshetra fell!
This is gallant Abhimanyu whom the fair Subhadra bore,
Still unconquered in the battle, slain by fraud in yonder shore,
Abhimanyu, son of Arjun, wielding Arjun's peerless might,
With the Lord of Night he ranges, beauteous as the Lord of Night!
This, Yudhishthir, is thy father! by thy mother joined in heaven,
Oft he comes into my mansions in his flowery chariot driven,
This is Bhishma, stainless warrior, by the _Vasus_ is his place,
By the god of heavenly wisdom teacher Drona sits in grace!
_These and other mighty warriors, in the earthly battle slain,
By their valour and their virtue walk the bright ethereal plain!_
_They have cast their mortal bodies, crossed the radiant gate of heaven,
For to win celestial mansions unto mortals it is given!_
_Let them strive by kindly action, gentle speech, endurance long,
Brighter life and holier future into sons of men belong!'_

Mahabharat- The Great War Epic
Unrivalled in breadth and depth
It is greater than Iliad or Odysseus, Homer's Greek epic
Blend of human realism and bright values and idealism is it's very strength.
Every hero or character is flawed
Due to curse or inner weakness
Fraudulent greedy, arrogant or ill-starred
Dropadee shared by five husbands, is gambled of in a manner, sick and shameless.
Mutely witnessed by wise elders she is stripped in open 'Darbaar'
Her friend Krishna the God -incarnates saves her by endless extension
of Saari, by his miraculous act and decision
The most infamous scene in history, it was soon followed by the Great War.
Bhagwad Geeta, the brightest jewel in the bloody crown
Of Mahabharat, is a book of great renown
Teaching karma not entangle with fear of future or mishaps of past
But with quality and values of dharma; and justice, never let down.
Hamletesque Arjuna is motivated to fight for values and justice
Even his respected elders, Guru, friend and relative
With courage and Dharmik motive
For a lasting value- based peace.
Mahabharat is both, realistic and fantastic
With men who are great warriors and donors yet with lust arrogance and misplaced vows and loyalties
It has integrity and yet cunning, politic.
women, beautiful and polyandrous, not known for chastities.
Good wise men are weak and bad are' blind' and strong
Geeta is a celestial war song
knowledge and superstition, logic and miracle strategy and crooked tectics
Mahabharat is a knowledge bank, a national library and epic, condensed yet long.
