My Power

In my mind I raced against time
I smoked peyote with the Apache
I chased Kangaroos
Through the bush with the Aborigine
All the while
I searched for the power within me

In my mind I outpaced time
I drew cave art with the Neanderthal
I climbed to the top of the mountain with the Sherpa
I hunted seal out on the frozen tundra with the Inuit
All the while
I searched for the power within me

In my mind I eclipsed time
I wrote poetry while under the tutelage of Langston Hughes
And I created visual greatness while apprentice to Gordon Parks
I even stood on the wall with Che' Guevara like a Sentry standing watch
All the while
I continued to search for the power within me

In my mind I turned to face time
I wrote an addendum to the Emancipation Proclamation
And I saw the ugly truths, of freedom's farcical Declaration
All the while
I continued to search for the power within me

In my mind I embraced time
I sought to free my nation from the pandemic perils of cocaine
And I prayed that we Americans would be free of
The snares of racial and economic divide that still has us chained
I did this while searching for truth, in this, our most tenuous hour
Then finally, God touched me, and I found my power

The Power Of Smile

The power of a gun can kill
and the power of Fire can Burn
The power of wind can chill
and the power of the mind can learn
The power of anger can rage
inside until it tears u apart
But the Power of a Smile
especially yours can heal a frozen Heart

The Power Of Love

I think that somewhere along the line
(and it's said, all things return to you in time)
I must have finally opened up to your love
Though i was building a wall at heaven's gate
(everything comes to those who wait)
You must have found a secret path into my soul
And now you're part of my life
I can't believe that this is mine
Every light has its time to shine
I want to understand this change in me
Is it the power of love
Is it the power of love
Is this the tao of love
I feel the power of love
Caught up in the famous paper chase
(in your eyes, i saw how i never fell from grace)
I must have finally opened up to your love
And i heard the battle's not always to the strong
(the race is not always to the fleet)
And the one who seeks to pluck the stars
Will miss the jewels at his feet
Blinded by momentary power
We almost had the final hour
I'll never know what caused the change in me
Was it the power of love
Is it the power of love
Is this the tao of love
I feel the power of love
Is it the power of love
Is it the power of love
Is this the tao of love
I feel the power of love
And i thought anything for the cause is worth the price
(losing you was the sharp edge of the knife)
Now no more fear, the way is clear
I know you are the power in my life
So better late than never
'cause this heart is yours forever
I'll never know what caused the change in me
Was it the power of love
Is it the power of love
Is this the tao of love
I feel the power of love
Is it the power of love
Is it the power of love
Is this the tao of love
I feel the power of love
I think that somewhere along the line
(and it's said all things return to you in time)
I must have finally opened up to your love

Power To The People

Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people, right on
Say you want a revolution
We better get on right away
Well you get on your feet
And out on the street
Singing power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people, right on
A million workers working for nothing
You better give em what they really own
We got to put you down
When we come into town
Singing power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people, right on
I gotta ask you comrades and brothers
How do you treat you own woman back home
She got to be herself
So she can free herself
Singing power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people, right on
Now, now, now, now
Oh well, power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people, right on
Yeah, power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people, right on
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people, right on

White Collar Crime

I'm not hungry, (?) throw away the key (?)
It's outrageous, nobody cares,
White collar crime, you had the time,
Blue collar crime, you'll do time every time,
Stealing from the company, taking all the profits,
Sharing with your family, drinking all the benefits,
(?), shocking, it's all so mocking,
White collar crime, you don't have the time,
Blue collar crime, you'll do time every time,
You can get away with it, will they get away with it?
Do they get away with it? yes, they get away with it.
Burn money today, free money tomorrow,
(?) goes my mind, causes so much sorrow,
(?), it's all the same, it's a money power game
White collar crime, you do the time,
Blue collar crime, you do time every time
White collar crime, you don't have the time,
Blue collar crime, you do time every time
All the same, money power game,
It's all the same, money power game,
It's all the same, it's a money power game,
All the same, it's a money, a money, power, the power game,
It's all the same.

Mind Power

Dont use your fist, use your brain
Dont use your fist, use your brain
Dont use your fist, use your brain
Dont use your fist, use your brain
Mind power, every hour, any minute, every day
Mind power, every hour, any minute, every day
So when you walk through the door
Is this the bottom word
The fortress of violence will fall
When the tide will turn
Dont use your fist, use your brain
Dont use your fist, use your brain
Dont use your fist, use your brain
Dont use your fist, use your brain
Mind power, every hour, any minute, every day
Mind power, every hour, any minute, every day
Is there a place you belong
When there is no love
The light that shines is so strong
When you come out of the dark
Yeah
Were living in a violent world
It makes our heart just freeze
Lets melt the ice with heart and soul
To heal a world that bleeds
(to heal a world that bleeds)
Dont use your fist, use your brain
Dont use your fist, use your brain
Dont use your fist, use your brain
Dont use your fist, use your brain
Mind power, every hour, any minute, every day
Mind power, every hour, any minute, every day
Mind power, every hour, any minute, every day
Mind power, every hour, any minute, every day
So when you walk through the door
Is this the bottom word
The fortress of violence will fall
When the tide will turn
So when you walk through the door
You can make it too
The fortress of violence will fall
If you want it to
Dont use your fist, use your brain
Dont use your fist, use your brain
Dont use your fist, use your brain
Dont use your fist, use your brain
Mind power, every hour, any minute, every day
Mind power, every hour, any minute, every day
Mind power, every hour, any minute, every day
Mind power, every hour, any minute, every day
Mind power, every hour, any minute, every day
Mind power, every hour, any minute, every day
Mind power

The Vanity of search -Based of the teaching of Gouthama Buddha

Dawn descended Crushing the Placid Night.
Tearing with its claws the Tranquil of Divine Dark.
Piercing and butchering with the sward of Light
the merciful twilight found no Strength, but
slipped in to the dead of grave, wounded and heavy

The rumbling noise of people gathered and crowded
The Futile Feet of men Stepped around, to and fro
People walked, vehicles droved the search continued
the search for peace, the search for Joy.
People knew where to look for and and how to find it
peace is in the Sweet smell of Paper called money
it is in the belove d's Eyes glimmer.
It is in the Seat of Power and position

There is no Everest that cannot be climbed
No Ocean that cannot be Voyaged,
No distance that cannot be traveled
At any cost the Peace is to be found, cradled
amongst the Money and power
The search has begun and continues forever.

The Search is on and On, And On and On
The Search has carried on for eon
for many generations the search continued
it took us to the deepest infinity of space,
To Abyss of ocean, there is no respite from the race.
All is in Vain; Peace has vanished without a trace

Where it might be hiding, Oh peace where Art thou?
You deluded us for ages, your face you never show.

Are we searching in a wrong place? Where peace is not.
We thought it is in the Island in the middle of river;
perhaps it is the very river.
We thought it is the name of a Inn in the corner of the Road
perhaps it is the Very road.
We thought it is in the bird singing on the tree
perhaps it is the Very tree

We searched in the past, present and Future,
But past is a History and Future is a Illusion
Perhaps it is in the present, But the Present
is full of suffering, not trace of peace is found,

Oh Dear peace where art thou, May be you exist not
are you just a fantasy dreamt by Unhappy Mind?
Are you just a fiction giving us the Futile Mirage of Hope?

You peace, you just a dream in our fantasy stream.
You peace. You exist not, in your madness our mind is caught

So give up the search for all the search is in vain
Give up the Hope, let go the hold of the rope
Let go the eagerness, and relax in its oness

Stop the Search, stop the Desirer of Peace
Once the Desirer is stopped, the Craving for peace is ceased
we find ourself in a place so strange.
Our Mind is Void, empty of Desirer and anxiety.
In this nullity our mind relaxes, thus opens a new axis
in this utter tranquil and Carefree of mind
the True peace and Joy we can find.

The Greatest ever told oracle
flashes to us from beyond time and space, oh! What magical
the Peace is not found in the search or in its desire
Drop the Very desire of peace, cease the search,
Thus we transmigrate to a new realm, full of peace and joy

Thus the voice of Buddha lingers every where
Drop the Desire, in this you will find Peace

The Power of Ideas

The power of ideas are immeasurable
They are the hidden treasures which lies
Deep within each and everyone of us
When we take the time to mind them we will find
That they are more precious than diamonds

Ideas which may seem insignificant
Has tremendous power within them
They are the genesis the initiation the foundation
Of all invention and everything which
Is created by humankind

The power of ideas are immeasurable
They have got the power to move mountains
To overcome any obstacle and to make
The seemingly impossible possible

Ideas are the levers which moves and the axis
On which the world revolves
The power of ideas are immeasurable
The power of ideas...

The Power to Touch Lives

Do you
have
the power
to
touch lives?

Are you defeated
in
every second
of
every hour?

Is your heart withholding the keys
to put many out of their miseries?

Were you created to make somebody see
what their purpose in life is suppose to be?

Were you put down here to be of some help
to uplift when others can't do it for themselves?

Have you answered your calling,
which was to keep others from falling?

Do you have any power?

Is your power distorted in some way?

Are you destroying souls
by
what you do
and
what you say?

Is the power
of
Life and Death
within
your tongue?

Then tell me
why do you choose
to
use it like
a gun?

Do you have the power
to
enlighten others,
who just might
be
a sister or a brother
of
another color?

Were you
created
to be
a blessing?

So until this time,
you would've
still been
guessing

Please let me know
when you will believe,
that
you have the power,
to help those in need

You have the power
to encourage
someone to succeed

So Yes,
You have,
the
'Power to Touch Lives'
If I've said it once,
now
I've said it twice

As We Sail By

We float
Through purple-velvet skies
Out where black holes are born
And the Milky Way lies

We fly
Through purple-hazed skies
Out where nebulae fade
And an apricot sun spies

We coast
Through purple-blue skies
Out where the platinum moon sits
And supernovas explode as we sail by

Power Of Love

Mama don't mind, 'cause your Mama don't know
But if your father finds out that we're all alone
He's gonna change your mind and rearrange my bones
But the power of love is like a tidal wave
It can pick you up and knock you on the floor
make you do the things you never done before
Don't imagine that you're free
There's no escaping from reality
You're under the spell, under the power of love
Turn the lights down low, lights down low
And the hi-fi high, hi-fi high
Put the lock on the door, pull the curtains to
Don't want the world to know I'm getting close to you
Well you never see it never see it
But you sure can feel it sure can feel it
And if you get the taste, you'll get the hunger pains
You'll be hooked for life, never be the same
Everybody's gonna see
There's no escaping from the mystery
You're under the spell, under the power of love
That's the power of love, the power of love
The power of love, the power of love
The power of love, the power of love
So you're sitting in a restaurant
And you feel so nonchalant
When the waiter says "what'll it be"
You start to speak, then suddenly
A pretty girl walks 'cross the floor
You ain't thinking 'bout food - no more
The power of love is like a tidal wave
It can pick you up and knock you on the floor
make you do the things you never done before
Don't imagine that you're free
There's no escaping from reality
You're under the spell, under the power of love
That's the power of love, the power of love
The power of love, the power of love
The power of love, the power of love
The power of love, the power of love
Power of love, the power of love, the power of love-acap

The Power

Mother Mary, Mother Mary
Mother Mary, please answer my prayers
I want to run free and I need you to be there
I'm going to take some chances I never took before
I've got to live my life and I'm going to risk it all
I look to the sky and suddenly I know
I've made up my mind, I'm never letting go
It's the power I want, it's the power I need
To make me run, to make me see for real
It's the power I want, to let me do what I feel
To make me run, to make me be for real
Unlike a miracle or a wish upon a star
The power to be me is all I need to start
To do things I'll never regret
and to leave the rest behind
It's the power I want, it's the power I need
To make me run, to make me see for real
It's the power I want, to let me do what I feel
To make me run, to make me be for real
It's the power I want, it's the power I need
To make me run, to make me see for real
It's the power I want, to let me do what I feel
To make me run, to make me be for real
You're the one to only help me
The only one, so help me, help me
Give it to me, to me, to me
Oh Mother Mary, please, please, please, please
Please just help and watch me shine
Then watch the power make me fly away
Mother Mary, Mother Mary
It's the power I want, it's the power I need
To make me run, to make me see for real
It's the power I want, to let me do what I feel
To make me run, to make me be for real
It's the power I want, it's the power I need
To make me run, to make me see for real
It's the power I want, to let me do what I feel
To make me run, to make me be for real

Miraculous Healing

Some people have the power
locked away in their mind
to perform great leaps of faith,
and heal people doctors have given up upon.
They do not understand the power
only that it is there.
They cannot call themselves doctors
having passed no medical exams.
They can only do what they are instructed
by the power within their mind,
performing feats which defy logic
and do them in front of anyone.
Some say we all have that power,
but only a few can use it.
Hence, the mystery goes on
within the miraculous healers
that are among us everywhere.

Taming The Shrew!

You can even move a mountain by faith, they say;
You can melt even a mountain by poetry, I say!
You can crack even a hard nut by poetry, know you!
Who cannot be moved by music in the world?

Music makes even a poisonous snake dance to its tune!
Music has the power to tame or drive away wild animals.
Poetry is musical words created by poet’s magic power;
Man being a higher being is tamed by musical poetry.

Poetry has the power to absorb, tame and inspire many!
Poetry consoles as music, art and Nature worn out souls
As poetry is the best and final resort for the hopeless here
For, it’s like God’s power that can turn hopeless into hopeful!

Poetry, the source of music and song, is the first and last
That tames the shrew and turns a dolt into a daunting don!

We Got The

Who got the chance to make things right?
Why the politicians always want to fight?
The Christian coalition and the right wing ooooh!
Let me tell you what you can do
Step outside the cone of silence
Too much hatred and violence
It's time to rewind
We need a military decline
Got the power of the mind focused
Government like a locust
Are we gone or just going?
Time to act on what we be knowinh y'all
Who got the power to make a difference?
Who got the power to make a change?
Who got the power to make a difference?
We got the
We got the
We got the
Eyes on the prize and never wane
Take the bull by the reins
If you want it be the change
Like Ghandi and MLK
Wait up, got to change the system
Need knowledge, power and wisdom
Same way I rock this microphone
Speak up, just let it be known
Hey ladies, fellas
And everyone between
Take the power back, let them react
And let's show them what we mean; Check it out
Who got the power to make a difference?
Who got the power to make a change?
Who got the power to make a difference?
We got the
We got the
We got the
We can work, walk, march and protest
Think about how we approach this
Ask questions but they keep frontin'
Due time we change a little something
Hey yo don't you know
Won't forget Amaduous Diallo
To the crooked people and the crooked cops
Got to spread love before the world goes pop
Never again should we use the A-bomb
We need an international ban on
all W.O.M.D.'s gone
We need a multilateral disarm
Who got the power to make a difference?
Who got the power to make a change?
Who got the power to make a difference?
We got the
We got the
We got the

Zero

The power of nothing always wins
it is the end of time no one can fight that.
Dictators shiver in their beds
This tenuous hold on power slowly dripping away
Slipping out of weak hands
Nothing, the word reverberates in their mind,
I had it all why can I not keep it?
The balcony, jubilation they try to believe
They are loved by the people.
The whispering voice, a cry in the night
In cosmic time a bullet flies slowly, but it always
Hits its mark... on it is written: Nothing is yours.

All She Wrote

Something's wrong with your mind
It won't think of me anymore
Was it all a waste of time
Tell me why was I such a chore
Broken glass lies empty
Cut my voice so I can't say
Today was that day
It was that time
And that was all that she wrote for me
You fell away
I don't know why
And that was all that she wrote for me
Lying here in your bed
The one that you liked to do it in
Pieces of long brown hair
Are all over it and still in my brain
I can't explain
What it's like not knowing if I'll ever cross your mind
Today was that day
It was that time
And that was all that she wrote for me
You fell away
I don't know why
And that was all that she wrote for me
Sleep through the day
Fight with the night
Seven a.m. and the tv is white
Covered in snow
I never knew that hell could get so cold
Today was that day
It was that time
And that was all that she wrote for me
You fell away
I don't know why
And that was all that she wrote for me
Today was that day
It was that time
And that was all that she wrote for me
You fell away
I don't know why
And that was all that she wrote for me

Power

Sometimes a smile can deceive the one who has made you promise
Suddenly you can't believe, the truth only leaves you cold
Sometimes the answers you fear are there on the face in the mirror
Something the world needs to hear but no one is even listening
Power It takes Power Power It takes Power
To back up the things you say
Power It takes Power Power It takes Power
To cut through the chains Breakaway
Fortune can wear a disguise Pride is a grand illusion
And when it's your name up in lights fate proves this one conclusion
Sometimes the answers you fear are there on the face in the mirror
Something the world needs to hear the truth only leaves you cold
Power It takes Power Power It takes Power
To back up the things you say
Power It takes Power Power It takes Power
To cut through the chains Breakaway
Power It takes Power Power It takes Power
To fight back and not be afraid
Power It takes Power Power It takes Power
To cut through the chains Breakaway
All that you see someday will be
Lost in the shadows of time
Mountains must fall someday this all
Will be darkness where light used to shine

Hey

I thought about you just last saturday
My voice got cracked I didn't know what to say
Down in the shade or maybe in the sun
And if you need it I think I got one

Where are you
And what's on your mind
Where are you
Am I wasting my time
Where are you
And what's on you mind?
I just want to know if I'm wasting my time

I snuck out of work to see her smile
I'll hold her hostage for a little while
I wrote a letter I thought I'd let you know
I'm right behind you any time you go

Where are you
And what's on your mind
Where are you
Am I wasting my time
Where are you
And what's on you mind
I just want to know if I'm wasting my time

My mind got busy around 3 a.m. or so
Crawled in you room through the back window
Hoped when you woke up you wouldn't be too mad
I hope I never wake up your old man
