Dead On Arrival

Dead on arrival
Well thats how they pronounced him
But Im out for survival
Im alive in this town
It took the vital injection
From that sweaty little girl child
She had the blood of conviction
Im alive and hurtin
And they said where did you go
And what did you do
Well whats gonna happen when he gets shot with love
Dead on arrival
They thought that nothing would save me
But I know what could break me
Dead on arrival
You were my death reflected
I love to tiptoe
That brought me into this town
I got a vital injection
And a gun at my head man
From a thrill hit redhead
That brought me into this town
Well where did you go
[+and] what did you do
Walked on out and he gets shot with love
With love, with love yeh
Yeh...
Dead on arrival
Well that aint a prediction
Fact of fiction
Im alive in your town
Dont try to shake me
Dont try to break me
I know what can save me
They take the blood in her town
And they said
Where did you go
And what did you do
Well, whats gonna happen when he gets shot with love
With love, with love

Shot Of Love

I need a shot of love, I need a shot of love.
Dont need a shot of heroin to kill my disease,
Dont need a shot of turpentine, only bring me to my knees,
Dont need a shot of codeine to help me to repent,
Dont need a shot of whiskey, help me be president.
I need a shot of love, I need a shot of love.
Doctor, can you hear me? I need some medicaid.
I seen the kingdoms of the world and its makin me feel afraid.
What I got aint painful, its just bound to kill me dead
Like the men that followed jesus when they put a price upon his head.
I need a shot of love, I need a shot of love.
I dont need no alibi when Im spending time with you.
Ive heard all of them rumors and you have heard em too.
Dont show me no picture show or give me no book to read,
It dont satisfy the hurt inside nor the habit that it feeds.
I need a shot of love, I need a shot of love.
Why would I want to take your life?
Youve only murdered my father, raped his wife,
Tattooed my babies with a poison pen,
Mocked my god, humiliated my friends.
I need a shot of love, I need a shot of love.
Dont wanna be with nobody tonight veronica not around nowhere,
Mavis just aint right.
Theres a man that hates me and hes swift, smooth and near,
Am I supposed to set back and wait until hes here?
I need a shot of love, I need a shot of love.
What makes the wind wanna blow tonight?
Dont even feel like crossing the street and my car aint actin right.
Called home, everybody seemed to have moved away.
My conscience is beginning to bother me today.
I need a shot of love, I need a shot of love.
I need a shot of love, I need a shot of love.
If youre a doctor, I need a shot of love.

Simple As That

I know it isnt easy to refuse
A lot of thoughts are flying thru your head
Tell me this before you have to choose
Would you rather be alive or dead?
Its as simple as that
Would you rather be alive or dead
Its as simple as that, its so simple
It makes you wanna cry
They ask you if you wanna join in
You linger for a minute or so
Well nows a perfect time to begin
Are you gonna say yes or no?
Its as simple as that
Are you gonna say yes or no?
If s as simple as that, its so simple
It makes you wanna cry
And if you love your life
Everybody will love you too
Yes if you love your life
Everybody will love you too
Its harder when you start to get round
I want you to remember what I said
I know you never like to let them down
But would you rather be alive or dead?
Its as simple as that
Would you rather be alive or dead?
Its as simple as that, if s so simple
It makes me wanna cry
Yes if you love your life
Everybody will love you too
And if you love your life
Everybody will love you too
Would you rather be alive or dead?
Would you rather be alive or dead?
Would you?
Its as simple as that
Its as simple as that
Its as simple as that
And if you love your life
Everybody will love you too
Yes if you love your life
Everybody will love you too

One Shot At Love

One shot
Oh lord
You know, its gonna be a lot of negative things surroundin you
Tryin to pull you down
But what you have to remember is
Its up to you - its your choice
You only get one shot in life
And you only get one shot at love
Did you ever notice - everytime you fall in love
And it seems like you finally met the perfect match
Everything is perfect, it seems divine
But for some strange reason, theres always a catch
Its a one-way relationship, it hurts inside
One person smirks while the other one cries
Butterflies in the stomach of the one whose in love
It cuts like a knife, the truth mixed with lies
One shot (one shot at love..)
One shot at love, one shot (one shot at love..)
One shot at love, one shot (one shot at love..)
One shot at love, one shot (one shot at love..)
Thats all you get
Physical and mental, those are two different loves
Physicals a moment, mental is forever
If the physical fades and gets weak, all of a sudden
Remember, its the mental love that keeps you together
You gotta be strong and endure the hard times
Cause af-ter hard times, good times, always follow
And when youre kissin and huggin and makin love
Treat that person like theres no tomorrow
One shot (one shot at love..)
One shot at love, one shot (one shot at love..)
Thats all you get baby; one shot at love, one shot (one shot at love..)
One shot at love, one.. shot.. (one shot at love..)
Thats all you get {*sniff*}
Jealousy - dont let it interfere
Dont let it come in between
The love you two share, cause jealousys a hateful god
So merciless and mean
And its only job in life, is to ruin relationships
And pit two people against, one another
And because of this god, the one you love so much
Will no longer be your lover
One shot (one shot at love..)
Aww baby, one shot at love, one shot (one shot at love..)
Thats all we get, one shot at love, one shot (one shot at love..)
I mean this baby, one shot at love, one shot (one shot at love..)
Thats all..
I hope you understand what I just said
All Im sayin is that you only get one shot at love in life
And you have to hold on to that shot, take advantage of it
Cause when you lose it, its gonna hurt real bad
Take it from me
You only get one shot, and I mean that
One shot
You only get you only get you only get one (2x)
One shot at love..
You only get you only get you only get one (2x)
One shot at love..
You only get you only get you only get one (2x)
One shot at love..
You only get you only get you only get one (2x)
One shot at love.. {*fades*}

Save Your Love

You were my woman and I was your man
You were good lookin
You know I was your biggest fan
You tried to teach me things I already knew
When you couldnt reach me
Girl, I think you knew that we were through
Baby, its over
Save your love, save it, save it
Save your love, save it, save it
Save your love, I dont want it (save your love)
Save it for someone else (save it, save it)
Save your love, I dont need it (save your love)
Put it back on the shelf
For somebody else
You said you love me, you may have been right
But hangin above me, girl,
You know that we would fight
You tried to change me and mess up my mind
Now, dont rearrange me
And girl, you know thats why youre left behind
Its over now
Save your love, save it, save it
Save your love, save it, save it
Save your love, I dont want it (save your love)
Save it for someone else (save it, save it)
Save your love, I dont need it (save your love)
Put it back on the shelf
For somebody else
Girl, you know its over
We had some good times
But now theyre gone, so long
Save your love, save it, save it
Save your love, save it, save it
Save your love, I dont want it (save your love)
Save it for someone else (save it, save it)
Save your love, I dont need it (save your love)
Put it back on the shelf
For somebody else
Save your love, I dont want it (save your love)
Save it for someone else (save it, save it)
Save your love, I dont need it (save your love)
Girl, I dont want it, save your love
Save your love, I dont want it (save your love)
Save it for someone else (save it, save it)
Save your love, I dont need it (save your love)
Girl, I dont want it, save your love
Save your love, I dont want it (save your love)
Save it for someone else (save it, save it)
Save your love, I dont need it (save your love)
Girl, I dont want it, save your love

Small Town

Well I was born in a small town
And I live in a small town
Probly die in a small town
Oh, those small communities
All my friends are so small town
My parents live in the same small town
My job is so small town
Provides little opportunity
Educated in a small town
Taught the fear of jesus in a small town
Used to daydream in that small town
Another boring romantic thats me
But Ive seen it all in a small town
Had myself a ball in a small town
Married an l.a. doll and brought her to this small town
Now shes small town just like me
No I cannot forget where it is that I come from
I cannot forget the people who love me
Yeah, I can be myself here in this small town
And people let me be just what I want to be
Got nothing against a big town
Still hayseed enough to say
Look whos in the big town
But my bed is in a small town
Oh, and thats good enough for me
Well I was born in a small town
And I can breathe in a small town
Gonna die in this small town
And thats probly where theyll bury me

I Love Only One Girl

(words & music by sid tepper - roy c. bennett)
Oh, I love only one girl, the one I got my arms around
I love only one girl, one in every town
In paris there is mimi, and when the moon is bright
I love to take her walking, along the seine each night
I kiss her on the left, then I kiss her on the right
Oh, I love only one girl, the one I got my arms around
I love only one girl, one in every town
Im proud of my brunhilda, in frankfurt on the rhine
Oh shes a lot of woman and all of her is mine
Oh she can lift a steinway as easy as a stein
Oh, I love only one girl, the one I got my arms around
I love only one girl, one in every town
In naples theres maria how she can cook and flirt
You cant beat her lasagna, I eat until I hurt
And then she tops it off with amore for dessert
Oh, I love only one girl, the one I got my arms around
I love only one girl, one in every town
Oh I love only one girl, the one I got my arms around
I love only one girl, one in every town
I love only one girl...i love only one girl
I love only one girl...i love only one..girl..
Shes the girl for me...

Alive & Kicking

You turn me on, you lift me up
And like the sweetest cup Id share with you
You lift me up, dont you ever stop, Im here with you
Now its all or nothing
cause you say youll follow through
You follow me, and i, i, I follow you
What you gonna do when things go wrong?
What you gonna do when it all cracks up?
What you gonna do when the love burns down?
What you gonna do when the flames go up?
Who is gonna come and turn the tide?
Whats it gonna take to make a dream survive?
Whos got the touch to calm the storm inside?
Whos gonna save you?
Alive and kicking
Stay until your love is, alive and kicking
Stay until your love is, until your love is, alive
Oh you lift me up to the crucial top, so I can see
Oh you lead me on, till the feelings come
And the lights that shine on
But if that dont mean nothing
Like if someday it should fall through
Youll take me home where the magics from
And Ill be with you
What you gonna do when things go wrong?
What you gonna do when it all cracks up?
What you gonna do when the love burns down?
What you gonna do when the flames go up?
Who is gonna come and turn the tide?
Whats it gonna take to make a dream survive?
Whos got the touch to calm the storm inside?
Dont say goodbye
Dont say goodbye
In the final seconds whos gonna save you?
Oh, alive and kicking
Stay until your love is, love is, alive and kicking
Oh, alive and kicking
Stay until your love is, love is, alive and kicking

Who Do You Love

Im driving off in the rain and snow
Oh, the jets aint jumping cause the clouds too low
I wanna know, I wanna know, I wanna know
Ice on the window, the highways a sea
Who do you love, is it him or is it me
Hey hey, I wanna know
I called detroit city on the telephone
Who do you love, who do you love
The man on the line tells me you aint home
Who do you love, who do you love
I dont know, whos that voice
Whats in a name
Theres a deep red glow in the early morning sky
Who do you love, better make up your mind
Dont wanna try love, dont wanna buy love
I just want your love babe
Alright
Oh hey
Well its five in the morning and the place is dead
Who do you love, who do you love
Im gonna rest my body on an empty bed
Who do you love, who do you love
I dont know whats his name, baby
Whats your game
Make up your mind are you his are you mine
When I get back I ask you one more time
Oh hey
Oh hey

Janie, Dont Take Your Love To Town

J. bon jovi
Sitting here just watching you sleep
Wish I could slip inside and be
In some technicolor dream
But the airs too thick for one of us to breathe
Im not fool enough to think
You couldnt live life without me
I didnt come this far to throw the towel in
I didnt fight this hard to walk away
If I aint smart enough to say Im sorry
Its just because the words got in the way
I remember how it used to be
I was you and you were me
We were more than just the same
Now these shoes dont fit, my skins too tight
When you want a kiss, I take a bite
Let your heart call up the cops, read me my rights
Last night I drak enough to drown
Raise a toast to your good looks and to my health
Look, we both know how much Ive let you down
Janie dont you take your love to town
Janie dont you take your love to town
Janie dont you take your love to town
If Ive got to beg, Ill beg, just dont walk away
Janie dont you take your love to town
You deserve a shooter, a saint
Someone to give it to you straight
To find the soul throught flesh and bone
My lifes a treasure, full of sunny weather
But its left me feeling cold
Now all you want to do is take me home
I hated you, the night you said you loved me
I hated you, cause I couldnt love myself
Im begging you now, baby please just hold me
I got one foot in, one foot off the ground
Janie dont you take your love to town
Janie dont you take your love to town
If Ive got to beg, Ill beg, just dont walk away
Janie dont you take your love to town
Sitting here while youre fast asleep
In the bathroom by the sink
Trying to write the right words down
I turn out the lights, close my eyes
There aint no prayers or kiss goodnight
What Ill forget to say tomorrow, Ill say now
Janie dont you take your love to town
Janie dont you take your love to town
Janie dont you take your love to town
If Ive got to beg, Ill beg, just dont walk away
Janie dont you take your love to town

Shot Down In Flames

(yow! one, two)
Out on the town, looking for a woman
Gonna give me good love
Anybody want to hang out with me?
And maybe burn me up?
She was standing alone over by the jukebox
Like shes something to sell
I said, baby whats the going price?
She told me to go to hell
Chorus:
Shot down in flames
Shot down in flames
Aint it a shame
To be shot down in flames
Singles bar, got my eye on a honey
Hanging out everywhere
She might be straight
She minds on her money [she might [want my | got no | run for] money](? )
I really dont care, no
Said, baby, youre driving me crazy
Layed it out on the line.
When a guy with a chip on his shoulder said
Toss off buddy shes mine
Oh!
Chorus
Hey you angus, shoot me, shoot
Thats nice, wow! uh! oh! oh! wooooh!
Chorus
Oh
Shot
Chorus
I dont want to be in pain
Dont want to be shot down in flames
Ohhh

Stagger Lee

1948, xmas eve, with a full moon over town
Stagger lee shot billy delions
And he blew that poor boy down.
Do you know what he shot him for?
What do you make of that?
Cause billy delions threw the lucky dice
Won stagger lees stetson hat.
Bayo, bayo, tell me how can this be?
You arrest the girls for turning tricks
But youre scared of stagger lee.
Stagger lee is a madman and he shot my billy d.
Bayo go get him or give the job to me.
Delia delions, dear sweet delia-d
How the hell can I arrest him? hes twice as big as me.
Well dont ask me to go downtown, I wont come back alive [no more].
Not only is that mother big but he packs a .45 [four].
Bayo, delia said, just give me a gun
He shot my billy dead now Im gonna see him hung.
She went into the delions club through billy delions blood
Stepped up to stagger lee at the bar,
Said, buy me a gin fizz, love.
As stagger lee lit a cigarette she shot him in the balls
Blew the smoke off her revolver, had him dragged to city hall
Bayo, bayo, see you hang him high
He shot my billy dead and now hes got to die.
Delia went a walking down on singapore street
A three-piece band on the corner played near my God to thee
But delia whistled a different tune, what tune could it be?
The song that woman sung was look out stagger lee.
The song that delia sung was look out stagger lee.

Jealous Girl

Fellas
Theres a jealous girl in our town
Ohh, baby
Fellas
Theres a jealous girl in our town
Ohh, baby
I know you feel about
Me and my girl
But I gave you the first chance to
Be in my world
Now you are saying things
To keep us apart
You had the very chance to
Be in my heart
When I loved you, you didnt love me
Our love had no unity
All you ever told me were lies
Its my girl I know you despise
Fellas
Theres a jealous girl in our town
Ohh, baby
Fellas
Theres a jealous girl in our town
Ohh, baby
Girl I really hope you find another
I just cant take no more
Of you tryin to be my lover
(ooh)
You see
Ive got what I want
And what I need
So girl
Wont you please try
Just to leave
When I loved you, you didnt love me
Our love had no unity
All you ever told me were lies
Its my girl I know you despise
Fellas
Theres a jealous girl in our town
Ohh, baby
Fellas
Theres a jealous girl in our town
Ohh, baby
(oooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh)
Theres a jealous girl
In our town
Theres a jealous girl
In our town
Theres a jealous girl
In our town
Theres a jealous girl
In our town
(spoken- mike):
Hey girl
(hey girl)
Why are you so jealous?
I mean, you had your chance
If you loved me so much, you wouldnt let me go
(let me go)
Face it girl
Its time for someone else
All those times when I tried to show you how much I loved you
And how much I cared for you
You never seemed to have the time
(I let go)
Girl its hurtin me
As much as its hurtin you
But thats just how life goes
You win some
You lose some
Sweatheart
Point blank
You lost this one
I just wanna let you know that its hurting me so
Girl I just had to let you go
Theres a jealous girl
In our town
And its you
Girl its you
Theres a jealous girl
In our town
Theres a jealous girl
In our town
Theres a jealous girl
In our town

Love Comes From The Other Side

When things get bad at home, you dont feel like being alone,
And you find yourself inclined to look around.
For the feelings we once shared are just no longer there,
And love comes from the other side of town.
(chorus)
Where love means just an hour with your stand in,
And not an empty house where love just has been.
Since everything weve built with love was not on solid ground,
Now love comes from the other side of town.
The life Im livin now just dont seem right somehow,
But its the best way to get by that Ive found.
Theres no love left at home, were both just hangin on,
And love comes from the other side of town.
(chorus)
Love comes from the other side of town.

Another Time

Writers: leo sayer & david courtney
Another time, love
You know I cant quite recognise your face, love
Although I feel I know you from someplace, love
Another time, love -- but not now
Another face, love
Im sure I know the voice, but not the face, love
I know you think I know you but then youre wrong, love
I dont know, love, who I am
Ysee Im lost...
And I dont know who I am
Another town, love
Tomorrow night I play another town, love
The show keeps rolling on and so it goes, love
I dont know, love where Im bound
I must be going now
Im sorry Im unsure
I must be going now
Maybe well meet again
Another time, love -- another town -- another place
Ysee Im lost
And I dont know who I am

Diesel In The Dust

My daddy told me boy, you only shoot to kill
Im livin just for that thrill
Nobody hurts me cos the paybacks twice as bad
In this town you dont make a man mad
* ted mckinleys dying
At the wheel of his truck
The engine running till it seized up
And nobody heard a thing
Not a shout or gun shot ring
Just a smell of diesel in the dust
(diesel in the dust)
Mckinley wouldnt back down from any man alive
But you need to if youre to survive
The folks in town wanna settle their score
By using their own kinda law
* repeat
[instrumental]
No one had seen a thing when the sheriffs car pulled in
Just the silence you get from kin to kin
The preacher bowed his head, glad that he was dead
And the better the least that was said
* repeat
In this town there was a man out on his own
With no account of how he stood alone
Nobody hear a thing, not a shout or gun shot ring
Just the smell of diesel in the dust
Diesel in the dust

Cmon, cmon, cmon
Cmon, cmon, cmon

I never knew that love could put a spell on me
Then you walked into the room
What to do
Should I let my package show
Or should I try and play it cool
Ive been foolin
Ive been playin
For so long my hearts been waitin
To finally love someone like you
Now my hearts anticipatin
All the love we could be makin
I gotta get this message through
(chorus)
I wanna know your name
I wanna know everything about you
Driving me insane
I wanna know your name
How can I let you know
I wanna get right next to you
Checkin the way you flow
I wanna know your name
Tell me now
Where have you been all my life
Are you real or just a dream
You know Im down
Anything you want to do
So wont you come and go with me
I cant take it
Please dont fake it
Heres my heart
Now dont you break it
cause you know Im all about you

Cant deny it
Theres no creams out there cant fight it
What can I say, what can I do

I really like to please you
You got it

Its time that you believe it
You lookin so fine tonight, baby
I just wanna drive you around in my viper
Yeah
We gonna speed through town, the top down
Your legs straddling the seat
Oh man
Whats your name, whats your name, whats your name
I wanna know your name
Whats your name, whats your name
Whats your name, whats your name

To the child in the coming

We have been waiting
For almost nine months now

You were born, in fact
The day, when we came to know
You have been sown
And you have been established

Trust you are grown
Full in shape
With strong bones and muscles
And a kind heart

I know your mother's blood
Supplies you all that you need
Make good use of the supply
And build yourself

You know the whole world
Is waiting for your arrival
With lot of love and affection
And with an expectation
That you are going to be different
And special and capable of
Achieving greater and nobler things
Than those which we have achieved so far

Are you a boy or girl
We do not want to know it now
And it makes no difference to us
For what will matter are the
Great thoughts that you are
Going to nurse and your actions
Those realise them

Welcome to this world of wonders
Welcome to this world of love
Welcome to this world of passion
Welcome to this world full of
Opportunities for you to explore
Welcome to this world waiting for you

Your arrival is yet another proof
To the fact that God has faith in human kind
Your arrival is yet another proof
To the fact that Natural systems still prevail
Your arrival is yet another proof
To the fact that Love is the essence of survival
Your arrival will add yet another ray
To the glow of innocence
Your arrival will mark the beginning of
A New Era, new thinking, new hopes
And it will pave way for new
Sweet dreams not only for your parents
But to the entire mankind
Your arrival will make new sparkling marks
In our horizons indicating brighter and
Most prosperous days ahead

Come with an open mind
Come with a heart that is kind
Come with a lot of passion
And fashion a new generation
