Lyric four bulls

Woman walked in forest alone
Met man
Man aroused appetite for her
Man ran and knocked his head on tree
Tail grew out
Hairy jaw grew in mouth
Hind legs grew
Man metamorphosed because was
Lion cannibal
Tried to attack man

Woman asked cannibal
‘’where’re your four
red and white bulls’’
‘’Do you know them’’
‘’Yes, you sing their
Oldest lyric’’
Cannibal laughed
In hoarse voice
Sang,
‘’One red and white spotted bull is sold
One red and white bull spotted is stolen
One red and white spotted bull is swallowed
One red and white spotted bull is scattered
On earth, scattered on earth, on earth, on earth……………….., cannibal sang tune of ‘’scattered on earth’’ happily for long and until
He napped and woman disappeared.

Cannibal and Dhieu

Lion cannibal came
With three cubs
In evening to Dhieu home
Hide in shade of cattle byre
When wife took cooked bean to
Dhieu In byre
Cannibal attacked her
She poured down bean
She cried
Dhieu came out of byre
Cannibal attacked him too
Within three minutes Dhieu and
His wife were dead
Villagers rushed in
Cannibal and three cubs ran away
In dry season
Rainmaker was called in
To make rain
Rain poured that night
In morning, villagers moved out
In forest for big hunt for cannibal
Villagers moved for three hours in
Forest until they found
Claw prints in mud of cannibal and cubs
They followed claw prints for four hours
In hedge, found lion and cubs
Men killed cubs
But father lion ran away
Villagers chased him for six hours
Lion went got tired on Nyangdit pond
Entered hedge
Men surrounded Nyangdit
Moved in to kill lion
They never found him
Searched hedge on pond
And never found any traces
Of cannibal lion
When men about to leave
One man saw big non poisonous
Ghoor snake, He said ‘’ isn’t lion
that change Like this’’ and
he hit one eye of
Ghoor snake off
Snake eye watered down
But he didn’t kill snake
Because it non poison’s
In fact, it’s lion that metamorphosed
In snake
After men left lion metamorphosed
Back to lion and left for Juba town
When he saw men from Dhieu’s village
He sang
‘’ I destroy home of Dhieu by bit cunning
I attack wife, she poured down bean
I ate wife and husband by by bit cunning’’
When people put down ears to hear
He changed song and sang
‘’ my triplets remained at Nyangdit pond
My brothers
I am childless’’

The Wild Horses And The Snow

last night the horses were there again
black, brown, white, gray horses, spotted ones
on their furious breaths they ran wildly on the
white snow
white as the fleece of a lamb
the feathers of the parakeet
the hair of the albino hamster
they are making the sounds of freedom
exploring the distance of distances
roaming the earth
and the mountains and the plains

all in my head.
subconscious desires waiting for the Freudian
explanations.

Ghost Dance

Long ago a prophet appeared,
A Piute Medicine Chief known as Wovoka.
He spoke to the Lakota people and others,
Of how to banish the white man.

They knew not they faced such great numbers.

This Messiah taught the Ghost Dance,
And promised come next spring,
New soil would smother all white men,
Sweet grass would cover the land,
Wild horses & buffalo would return,
All who danced the Ghost Dance,
Would be taken up into the air,
Suspended while new earth was laid down.

Kicking Bear assured Sitting Bull that,
If their people wore Ghost Dance shirts,
White mans bullets could not strike them so,
They painted their shirts with sacred symbols.

Indian agents grew nervous, moved quickly,
Telegraphing Washington for more troops.
Soldiers surrounded Sitting Bulls camp,
A fight ensued and many were killed.
Ghost Dance was thwarted,
before magic could fulfill...

'The Second Coming” prophecy belonged to the white man,
For they worshiped 'A Most Jealous god”

When we grew apart

You say we grew apart
but I can't not say...
'babe, you threw ya heart'
where did it go?
I know,
it was when you told your white lies
it was when you stood in the white snow.
It was when you grew into a woman.
It was when I saw you smile
babe we grew apart
but for me it was only for a while.

One day the human heart speaks

The planet earth is only a graveyard without any fences.
Though we segregated into different races.
Human heart speaks a common dialect from Eskimo to Cannibal.
So be faithful to the end without harming each other
Until we embrace the mysterious earth.

A Bull For Me

I think, Sirs, and most inimitable Ladies
I think I prefer to look at a bull
The sketch of a bull, the head of a bull perhaps
even if but a study by an artist
rather than some fancy prophet in glorious paint
or in grand chapel or some miracle recounted
in paint and colors and with consummate skill
or even God descending
ah, all these do not take my fancy
they smack too much of the Elevated;
there’s too much
of the grandstanding in these
Grand Divine Themes
but the face of a bull, ah give me a sketch
of the face of a bull
just the bull, all marks of nature in it
and just itself
no symbolism, no conceit, no artifice
no High sounding theology, no Revelation
but just animal nature in its nudity
being a bull
just animal, its eyes and mouth and horns
just all coming together to form one creature
a portrait of a bull anytime for me
Sirs and most inimitable Ladies
none of the Holy Ones and the Great Prophets
and the Mighty and the Divine
and the Grand-Looking:
no bull for me, please;
just the plain head of a bull, as it is

Red Stained the Earth

When white clouds filled the land
Red stained the earth
Thunder roared and lightning struck
Red stained the earth
Darkness devoured the soul
Red stained the earth
Smoke choked the air
Red stained the earth

Cries were loud but never heard
Red stained the earth
Words misunderstood
Red stained the earth
A compromise was in vain
Red stained the earth
Land was stripped of its beauty
Red stained the earth

Raped of dignity, honor and trust
Red stained the earth
Language lost, stories untold
Red stained the earth
No more tradition, no more culture
Red stained the earth
When white clouds filled the land
Red stained the earth

white bra

the center of her

the grass of her earth
is wet

she walks away
dripping

her hair is long and curly
black

she does not own me.

Meanstreak

Ive been to the left, Ive been to the right
Ive found myself in abudhabi, just a mirage in the night
Been to the high, Ive been to the low
And Ive been to lots of places that I didnt wanna go
But I aint see nothing to get me off my ass
And laughed at all the jokers wanting make me walk on glass
I could walk fore I could crawl
And I was meaner than a bad dog with his back against the wall
Animal, animal
Cannibal, cannibal
See em fall, see em fall
Im the guy that they call -
Meanstreak, I gotta meanstreak
Meanstreak, they call me meanstreak
I just dont know who I wanna be
The count of monte cristo or the sheik of arabia
Ive eaten rich, and Ive eaten free
Im the perfect culture vulture in the face of poverty
And I aint met no one who told me I got class
They say never feed the animal, the boys got too much flash
Im a guy they just cant teach
And I always kick the castle thats been built up on the beach
Animal, animal
Cannibal, cannibal
See em fall, see em fall
Im the guy that they call -
Whats your name?
Meanstreak

Being a Tiger, Being a Bull

I was born in 1962, the year of the tiger
In the chinese astrological callendar
but in the Zodiac wheel of time
I'm a Taurus, a bull by design

A man with a purpose, by his own admission
hard, yet soft, but never a remission
I'm understanding, romantic, peaceful at heart
sometimes hard deaded, that's the Bull from the start

But I'm happy for who I am
a very possitive and gentle man
and trust me, it's not so cruel
when at times I'm a Tiger, and others a Bull.

Monkey and Goose, Snake and Bull, and Tiger Lou

Monkey and goose
Snake and bull
And there friend tiger lou
Met at hummingbird's garden
For afternoon tea for two

In hummingbird's garden
Raised the most precious colors
Be they red or blue, pink or white
To all who viewed
It was such a dazzling sight

Somewhere between succulent sips
The question of God's existance
Became more than a quip.
Where is it that God can be found?
Is he here upon Earth's holy ground?

Then goose said, 'I will fly across
This land, my wings are strong and
When it comes to tiring, I have no end
From high away I can see, so please
For certain, I am the one to send.'

Monkey said, 'I can swing from
Tree to tree all day long
So high that I can see
Every aspect of the land
So if anyone goes, let it be me.'

Snake said, 'I will slither, I will crawl
Across the swamp, across the bog
If this God exists surely
I will be the one
To bring back a certainty

Bull steps in as to be not excluded,
'I will cross the plains from end to end
I will search from dawn to dawn
If there be such a place
It will be found by me on Earth's green lawn.'

Tiger steps up with a growl,
'I will go searching in the fields of rice
I will go where the sugarcane grows
I will not stop, so cast my lot,
When I come back, it will be told.'

Then they left, each on a separate road
And they would be gone for many a day
But then there came to pass
Goose and monkey, snake and bull, and tiger lou
Met at hummingbirds with finished task

Goose said, 'I have found God
And I know the only way.'
'Say hey, ' said the monkey, 'for you are all wrong
Through the woods have I found God
It's through the woods all day long.'

'Nay, ' snake had to say, 'I found God
And only I know the way.
Across the swamp, I'm here to state
Is the only way to him
Anything else is tempting fate.'

Bull bellows loudly most of all
'You fools, I have searched for days and days
It's across the fields of grass
That you must go to God
All of your remarks are so crass.'

Tiger lou darkened his eyes,
'Idiots! the devil has fooled you all
If you seek God, I and only I know the way
So appoligize or step away back
To show you let me say.

Then there was a viscous roar
Monkey strangled goose, snake bit monkey knee
Tiger bit snake in half, then bull flung tiger
High into the sky, breaking his back with a crack
Bull burst his heart with such strength, didn't linger.
Hummingbird in her garden was sadden
Began humming and humming a song
The song turned into into a chant that flew to heaven
Where God was and is today
Waiting for searching souls, that he will never abandon.

Monkey, goose, bull, snake and lou
Before God stood, looking blue
'Have you anything to say? '
But only silence crossed their lips
'Only I know the way
Only I am the way
Only through me can there be a way.'

Denial Too Is An Art

denial too is an art
and with the complications of time
sophistication also comes
glittering and
throwing some questions
sometimes without
answers

that is the challenge
silence sits aside outmoded
the new models of denial and
refusal dressed in the latest creations
of fashion and color and texture
come parading
like scanty clad ladies with mouths
pouting for options

there is this man walking in reverse
and you will have a hard time to guess
what is he apt to?
and there is this woman that keeps on
going like a white swan floating on the river
what is her point?

the pond with pink lilies is too placid
and the philosopher sits beside a big gray stone
thinking

the koi comes up with some news
about the decaying moss and the foul water
spotted beauty

the clouds are heavy in the skies
and rain shall soon pour like wisdom

the earth asks you: who are you?
you shrug you shoulders and then gently you must go

to where? and when? you tell the earth you do not really know.
i like your art. The art of not knowing. It is where the flowers grow.

i Saw a Woman

i saw a woman
Dancing on her grave
She smiled and sang
La la lee
La la lo
La la lee
La la lo

She picked up Death's cat
By tail & twirled the thing
La la lee
La la lo

Death watched curriously
How this thing could be
La la lee
He scratched his head
La la lo

The woman looked back at Death
And flipped him off
Her skeleton bones
Were white as snow
Now her dance
Was beginning to slow

Death thought now
Was her time to go

Instead
She skinned the cat
And made a dress
Put it on
And picked up her song
La la lee

Death's eyes popped out
At what he saw next
The woman's bones
Grew new flesh

Her hair combed and tapered in curls
Death ran at her with fury
But tripped along
An old tomebstone
La la lo

Death on the ground
She picked up her dance
And danced on Death

Bone by bone
She trampled him in the ground

The last thing he saw
Was the woman's child
And he sang and danced
La la lee
Along with a whole
Party of bones
La la lo

The white rose and the red rose

The white rose and the red rose,
So sisters two were named, yes, named.
The white one was so quiet,
The red one laughed and flamed.
But different was their doing, yes,
When came the time of wooing, yes.
The white one turned so red, so red,
The red one turned so white.

For him the red one favored,
Him father would not bless, not bless.
But him the white one favored,
He got at once his 'Yes.'
The red one now was paling, yes,
With sorrow, psalms, and wailing, yes.
The white one turned so red, so red,
The red one turned so white.

Then father grew so fearful
And had to give his 'Yes,' oh, yes!
With songs and music cheerful
The wedding rang, oh, yes!
And soon sprang children rosen, yes,
In shoes and little hosen, yes.
The red one's, they were white,-and oh,
The white one's, they were red.

Black men, White men

should i be led to believe
that the white men's heart
is soft as cotton? and when
touched, is torched, bursts into flame
to settle comfortably in black,
a trail of humble lesson for the soul

should i be led to believe
that a black man's heart is
full of courage? charging like a bull
through America black or white
settling for nothing in between?

should i be led to believe that
black and white work the
theory of ying and yang
ever balancing to rev up the world?
rice would even grow in bush
black hair turns eventually into
a crown of white wisdom
and blackboards light up
knowledge in white chalk
white shines at its best in black
and where else but a piece of white
where black could make its clearest stamp
of its stand - left or right, right or wrong

The Deadly Speckled Birches (Smoking/Cigarettes)

Vika and I walked in a thick forest of birches white and spotted.
And many boulders of white lime with black lichens dotted.
A thick fog rolled slowly toward like a pudding, creamy and clotted.

Something moved behind a fallen speckled log that fog and time have rotted.
A wild pack of Dalmatians ahead of the fog then trotted.
Stalking us through the birches, what evil had these dogs plotted.

We retreated down a hill toward our cabin – our stomachs were knotted.
I grabbed a fallen branch and at the nearest one I swatted
But we can’t shake the pack – was this all the time the Lord allotted?

Now, the leader jumps upon a rock and there he perches.
And I remember the lesson we had been taught at our churches.
God will grant strength and deliverance to he who asks and searches.

And so I ask “God please deliver us from this deadly glade, this pack of birches.”
And the leader howled the order and we ran for the cabin porches.
Charcoal from a smoldering campfire my white shoe besmirches.

And the fog tried to envelop us as we ran in sprints and lurches.
And I wake from my nightmare and all my soul researches.
What warning could this be - the deadly glade of pack, fog, rock, and birches?

I walk outside and light a smoke – and understand what I dreamed
The vicious foggy white and spotted birches are realer than they seemed.
Oh God, grant us the power over addiction, that we may be redeemed.

Note: It has been about a year and half since I had this dream, and I was able to quit shortly thereafter.
