You Showed Me The Way
Ella fitzgerald / teddy mcrae / chick webb / green
You showed me the way
When I was someone in distress
A heart in search of happiness
You showed me the way
My sky was so gray
I never knew Id feel a thrill
I couldnt dream a dream until
You showed me the way
The moment you found me
The shadows around me
Just disappeard from view
The world became rosy
Each corner so cozy
Darling, all because of you
You showed me the way
And if Ive learned that love can be a paradise
For you and me
Heres all I can say
You showed me the way

Never Forget
When the rain falls
I watch the grey clouds
When my friend smiles
I look for sadness
When I watch a romance movie
I watch the tears that fall
Why can't I see the good?
When I look at the beauty around me
I always look for a flaw
When someone is nice to me
I wonder what their motive is
When something good happens
I wait for something bad
Then you came along...
You showed me what it was to cry
You showed me what it was to laugh
You showed me what it was to feel
You showed me what it was to love
You showed me what it was to be loved...
Now you are here
I can't lose you
You are my light
My star, my rock
If you were to leave me
I would be empty again!
I am worried that when you leave me
I will forget to feel
SO please don't go away
For you are my strength
My happiness, my love
You are my friend
And always will be!
Thankyou for being here
When I need you most
And thankyou for trusting me
When I did't trust myself
I love you
Always have, always will...
Never forget that...

I Showed Her
Its catching up to me right now
Everything that Ive said
The night I left her there
When I said I wanted out
I was angry and upset
And at the time I could care less about staying there
I had to prove I didnt care
As much as she thought I did
[chorus:]
I showed her
I let my pride take me
Far away from the only woman I loved
I showed her
Now she has found someone new
And her life will go on
And Im all alone
But I showed her
Oh oh oh
I hate that shes in love
But it took a while for her to get over the hurt
Now I know that I messed up
I was trying to give us time
But I see she took that time to find somebody else
What happened to the things she felt for me
Am I really a part of her past
[chorus:]
I showed her
I let my pride take me far away
From the only woman I loved
I showed her
Now she has found someone new
And her life will go on
And Im all alone
But I showed her
Woah oh ohs
[chorus]
Now she has found someone new
And her life will go on
And Im all alone
But I showed her

Tore Down A La Rimbaud
Showed me pictures in the gallery
Showed me novels on the shelf
Put my hands across the table
Gave me knowledge of myself.
Showed me visions, showed me nightmares
Gave me dreams that never end
Showed me light out of the tunnel
When there was darkness all around instead.
Tore down a la rimbaud
And I wish my message would come
Tore down a la rimbaud, you know its hard some time
You know its hard some time.
Showed me ways and means and motions
Showed me what its like to be
Gave me days of deep devotions
Showed me things I cannot see.
Tore down a la rimbaud
And I wish my purpose would come
Tore down a la rimbaud, you know its hard some time.
You know its hard some time.
Showed me different shapes and colours
Showed me many different roads
Gave me very clear instructions
When I was in the dark night of the soul.
Tore down a la rimbaud
And I wish my writing would come
Tore down a la rimbaud, you know its hard some time.
You know its hard some time.

Sonnet: To My Mother Dear
You could not give me land or gold or wealth,
But helped me get precious Education;
You could not give me luxuries but health,
But showed to labor with dedication.
You could not show me grandeur of my life,
But showed me how to live in piety;
You could not find me a much wealthier wife,
But showed me how to do true charity.
You could not show me pomp and show and bliss,
But showed me how to live God-fearingly;
You showed me to prayers not ever miss,
And showed me speak the truth so daringly.
You could not guide me how to reach my goal,
But showed me how to keep holy, my soul.

I Showed Her
She told me I should straighten up my ways
Or she'd be walkin' out
I guess I was just too blind to see
Or maybe just too proud
So I never thought twice
When she loaded up her things and drove away
'Cause I knew she'd be back someday
I knew she'd be back
Took off my work clothes
And left them right there on the floor
'Cause I knew she'd pick 'em up
When she got home like a hundred times before
And just to make it easier for her
I left the light on on the porch
'Cause I knew she'd be back someday
I knew she'd be back
I guess I showed her
How much she had to lose
Showed her, who was really who
I know she's hurtin' now
Looks like I showed her
I must have seen the movie of the month
A dozen times or more
I watched my favorite team play ball
But I never heard a score
'Cause the whole time I was listening
For the moment when she'd walk through the door
'Cause I knew she'd be back someday
I know she'll be back
I guess I showed her
How much she had to lose
Showed her, who was really who
I know she's hurtin' now
Looks like I showed her
If I could I show her how much she had to lose
I'd show her I've been hurtin' too
If I could hold her now
I'd really show her...

You showed me what it takes
To do what I want to
And you told me
You told me all the mistakes
Then warned me dont do it

Are everything to me
You!
You!
You are everything, yeah...
You!

Are everything to me
You!
You!
You're everything, you're everything, yeah...

You showed me was already laid
The path that we choose

You!
Are everything to me
You!

You are everything, yeah...
You!

You!
You're everything, you're everything, yeah...
You made me
You made me realize
he wrongs that we do
And you had me
You had me in the light
When the darkness came thru here
The darkness came thru
The darkness came thru
And you held me to the light
Now I know that I will be tight
You!
You!
Are everything to me
You!
You!
You are everything, yeah...

Are everything to me

I Asked God
“When I Asked God for Strength
He Gave Me Difficult Situations to Face
When I Asked God for Brain & Brown
He Gave Me Puzzles in Life to Solve
When I Asked God for Happiness
He Showed Me Some Unhappy People
When I Asked God for Wealth
He Showed Me How to Work Hard
When I Asked God for Favors
He Showed Me Opportunities to Work Hard
When I Asked God for Peace
He Showed Me How to Help Others
God Gave Me Nothing I Wanted
He Gave Me Everything I Needed.”

Lullaby
Hush my love now don't you cry
Everything will be all right
Close your eyes and drift in dream
Rest in peaceful sleep
If there's one thing I hope I showed you
Hope I showed you
Just give love to all
Oh my love...in my arms right
Every day you give me life
As I drift off to your world
Will rest in peaceful sleep
I know there's one thing that you showed me
That you showed me
Just give love to all
Let's give love to all

He Showed Me
He showed me heights I'd never seen
and the climb was ecstasy.
He showed me lows from absences
that took its toll on me.
He showed me the sun, the moon and stars
and the sight was heavenly.
He showed me clouds and starless nights
that closed heaven's doors to me.
Still I lived for the heights
and lived for the sights
and died from the clouds
and the starless nights.
Was he even aware of the dichotomies
that tore at the heart of my being?
Or was he oblivious to these changes incurred
just from what I was seeing?

The Passion
If they only owned love, shown love, grown love, like this before
If they only knew love, true love, to love, like this before
If they only gave love, saved love, brave love, like this before
If they only called love, love love, called love, like this before
If theyd only showed love, they owed love, owed love, like this before
If they only showed love, they owed love, owed love, like this before
If they only knew love, true love, to love, like this before
If they only gave love, saved love, brave love, like this before
If they only showed love, they owed love, they owed love, like this before
La la la la la, la la la la, la la la la la, La la la la la...
Like this before
If they ever showed love, they owed love, they owed love, they owed love
If they ever showed love, they owed love, they owed love, like this before
Oh, oh, oh, oh, yeah
La la la la la, la la la la, la la la la la, la la la la...
If they only claimed love, claimed love, claimed love
They maintened love
Instead they drained love, stained love
They didnt control love, my soul loves a whole love, like this before
Received the same love
If they didnt regret love, forget love, say they never met love
If they will love, dont kill love, just be still love (x4)

Heartache And Break
heartache and heartbroken..you took me in
and made me yours. it ook me awhile
but i eventually fell in. your eyes showed sympathy
your words gave comfort, your heart showed love
until i found out the truth of what you've been doing
the whole time you were gone.

The Only One
He was always the toughest kid
But he never meant no harm
But looking back I could see his fate
Was tatooed on his arm
Walking throught the courtyard
Always there to be seen
He and little janie
Together they were the king and queen
He was the only one, who ever really knew
He was the only one, what can we do
He was the only one, he always showed us how
He was the only one, where is he now
Three years later at the bus stop
I know Ill never forget
He looked smaller in real ways
As he bummed a cigarette
And I asked him what hed been doing
And hows little janie anyway
Seems he was drunk
They had a fight
Janie got hurt and they took him away
He was the only one, who ever really knew
He was the only one, what can we do
He was the only one, he always showed us how
He was the only one, where is he now
I can still see him standing there
Just like yesterday
Leaning on a 56
Giving his secrets away
Is it any wonder
I feel a little lonely
Hes not just the only one
Hes the one and only
I heard about the accident
Theres not much left to say
He wandered out in the middl of the freeway
It must have happened right away
And I though about what a shame it was
Now that its all said and done
And it may sound strange
But even now
Hes still the only one
He was the only one, who ever really knew
He was the only one, what can we do
He was the only one, he always showed us how
He was the only one, where is he now

I Do
Written by christine mcvie and eddie quintela.
Oh my mind is made up about you
Now and always
Though the seasons come and they go
Nothing will ever change
Well I took a little chance
And I laid my heart down
I thought youd be the one
Who would always stick around
I took a little time
Though I knew it would be
That we had a date with destiny
Well out of the darkness
And out of the long black night
You have given me heart, yes
And you showed me the light
And I do, I do
I love you for what you are
Well this heart of mine
I know it so well
There are so many strange stories
That I could tell
Many is a time
I went out on a limb
You reached out for me baby
And you brought me back again
A lot of stormy nights
Ive seen many a full moon, but darling
This is love in the afternoon
Well out of the darkness
And out of the long black night
You have given me heart, yes
And you showed me the light
And I do, I do
I love you for what you are
So out of the darkness
And out of the long black night
You have given me heart, yes
And you showed me the light
And I do, I do
I love you for what you are
Yes I love you for what you are
I love you for what you are
I do love you for what you are
Yes I do love you for what you are...

The girl of my dreams
I met the girl of my dreams
I held her, I love her, but that wasn’t a dream
She made me feel so special inside
Now I feel like a failure inside
The girl of my dreams was so pretty and pure
The girl of my dreams was so perfect
The girl in my dreams is everything I want
The girl in my dreams is everything that is right
The girl in my dreams talked with me
The girl in my dreams is named Dee
The girl in my dreams showed me who I am
The girl in my dreams showed me what love is
The girl in my dreams showed me how to love
The girl in my dreams I love so much
The girl of my dreams I love you so
The girl of my dreams I hate that you let go
The girl of my dreams you are so rare
The girl of my dreams you for me
The girl of my dreams without life doesn’t seem right
The girl of my dreams without you why put up the fight
The girl of my dreams without you I am not whole
The girl of my dreams without you I feel like I am in a hole.
The girl of my dreams, you are for me
The girl of my dreams is Dee.

Perfect Fan
It takes a lot to know what is love
Its not the big things, but the little things that can mean enough.
A lot of prayers to get me through, and there is never a day that passes by I dont think of you, you were always there for me, pushing me and guiding me always to succeed.
CHORUS
You showed me, when I was young just how to grow,
You showed me, everything that I should know.
You showed me, just how to walk without your hands.
Cause mum you always were the perfect fan.
God has been so good,
Blessing me with family, who did all they could.
After many years of praise, and it flatters me when I see a smile on your face.
I want to thank you for what youve done,
In hopes I can get back to you, be the perfect son
CHORUS
Cause mum you always were (x5)
The perfect fan
I love you mum

In my other life ~ ~ ~ Song Lyric's
In my other life, I marched troops in formations
I manned the gun and turned them into men
In my other life, I had so many wayward women
They broke me down and made me, what I am
They showed me roads that men seldom travel
They taught me things can work only if, you try
That losing could mean your really winning
They showed me sorrow, and taught me, how to cry
In my other life, I consumed minds recreations
I made peace with myself, these insecurities, could not stand
In my other life, I lived with incarcerations
They broke me down and made me, what I am
They showed me roads that men seldom travel
They taught me things can work only if, you try
That losing could mean your really winning
They showed me sorrow, and taught me, how to cry
In my other life, I worked hard to make a living
I gave up my recklessness, and vowed never, to give in
In my other life, I was married and had children
There broke me down and made me, what I am
They showed me roads that men seldom travel
They taught me things can work only if, you try
That losing could mean your really winning
They showed me sorrow, and taught me, how to cry
In my other life, I was drawn to the Truth and His resurrection
I confessed my sins, by faith believed and made Him, my Lord
In my other life, I learned to die to self and surrender
Conviction broke me down; the Blood made me, what I am
He showed me a narrow road men seldom travel
He gave me grace to change, in the Sweet, by and by
That losing could mean your really winning
He showed me His love, the price He paid, the reason why
He showed me His love, the price He paid, the reason why

You.....my Love
Its knowing that, where ever we are
you are always with me
It felt so good in your arms
I found new meaning for warmth
It felt so good to dream about you
and wake up to the sound of your breath
You showed me love
when you looked into my eyes
Its knowing that your love
can fill up a million skies
I thought how someone
can be crazy in love
you showed by
making me crazy now
