Like Mother Like Daughter
When I was a child had dollies and teddies
I played tea party and bookstore,
And followed mum around the shopping centre with my dolly in her pram
I had my pretend credit cards and they were the coolest thing ever.
Now the dolly in her pram has turned in to a real child,
And my pretend credit cards are real
I don’t play tea party but make dinner every night
And a bookstore is a place where I buy text books and parenting books,
Not comics and novels
Soon again it will be time for tea parties and teddies,
And going shopping with dolly in tow
But now it is my little girl who has grand dreams of being just like her mum
Of having credit cards and a daughter of her own.
But for now as I watch her sleep I pray she does not repeat my mistakes

Beautiful, Antique Dollies
Beautiful, antique dollies
All stand in a row,
Laced with ornamental pretence,
Staring from the window.
Each beautiful, antique dolly,
Bears her beautiful, antique price,
For her pretty, satin ribbon
And her vacant, azure eyes.
One beautiful, antique dolly,
With her frosted, golden curls,
Is severed from the window,
For her reflection in a girl.
Now this beautiful, antique dolly,
Stands, no longer on her shelf,
Her ivory face is glowing
As she adorns by herself.
All the other antique dollies,
In the window where they stay
Whisper after midnight
Of the dolly that went away.
Our beautiful, antique dolly
Rooted in her antique home
Watermarks her china skin
She hates to be alone.
One beautiful, antique dolly,
Breaks her brilliant, painted smile,
Climbs down from her silver stand
And shatters on the tile.

Sneakin' Around
(((((From the movie The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas)))))
((((Dolly Parton & Burt Reynolds sings))))
DOLLY:I like fancy,frilly things
High-heeld shoes and diamond rings
Ragtime bands and western swing
And sneakin' around with you
BURT:Well I like beer and rodeos
Detective books and dominoes
Footballgames and Cheerios
And sneakin' around with you
DOLLY & BURT:Sneakin' around with you
Goin' a round or two
Doin' what lovers do
Whenever they're sneakin' around
DOLLY:I like lots of cash on hand
And dirty jokes about the Fuller Brush Man
BURT:I like stuff I understand, like sneakin' around with you
DOLLY:You know I like a thrill that has no strings
BURT:Friendship that don't ever change
DOLLY:And laughter from the joy of things
DOLLY & BURT:And sneakin' around with you
Sneakin' around with you
Goin' a round or two
Doin' what lovers do
Whenever they're sneakin' around
DOLLY:I like drive-in picture shows
Kissin' long and lovin' slow
BURT:The secret places lovers go,whenever they're sneakin' around
DOLLY:I like the crazy things we try
BURT:And the sexy things we fantasie
DOLLY:Just a-makin' out in the broad daylight
DOLLY & BURT:And sneakin' around with you
Sneakin' around with you
Keeping it all brand-new
Gettin' the best of you
Whenever we're sneakin' around
Sneakin' around that's all
DOLLY:I'm gonna lay down the law
BURT:Watchin' the rise and fall
DOLLy & BURT:Of lovers sneaking' around
BURT:We're just sneaking' around
DOLLY:Oh we're just
DOLLY & BURT:Sneakin'!

Until Again The Gloss Wears Off
Money motivators,
Chase it as if craved.
With only one thing on their minds...
How to keep sentimentally kept teasured clutter,
With an updated sameness.
That maintains a 'living within their means mentality'.
This affords them an opportunity,
To activate a rearrangement of a thought process...
That tolerates new complaints!
Until again the gloss wears off.
No matter what the hidden cost,
That comes to satisfy...
Within unchanged limitations.
And a credit score that is boasted about,
Among friends.
'I do not want 'anything'...
Absolutely nothing,
To affect my good credit rating.
I find it is advantageous,
However...
To only use any of my credit cards,
Only while out shopping to purchase bargains!
And I've got a houseful of those.'

Credit In The Straight World
And I will awake
Your highness- Im so high I cannot walk
And I will awake
You cripple, you take away my time, my peace, my empathy
No babies sleep on atrophy
Your unborn love and fetals dree
My bitter [ ] legless caress
Go for credit in the straight world
Look a dealer in the eye
Go for credit in the real world, wont you try?
I got some credit in the straight world
I lost a leg, I lost an eye
Go for credit in the real world you will die
Its the credit in the straight world
Leave your money when you die
Lots of credit in the straight world gets you high
I got some credit in the straight world
I lost a leg, I lost an eye
Go for credit in the real world, you will die

The Making Up
Little Miss Margaret sits in a pout,
She and her Dolly have just fallen out.
Dolly is gazing with sorest stare,
Fitted dejectedly back in her chair.
Angry at Margaret, tearful and grieved,
Sore at the spanking so lately received.
Pursed are the maiden's lips close as can be,
They are not speaking, Miss Dolly and she.
Five minutes passes in silence and then,
Margaret's ready for playing again.
Dolly unbendingly sits in her place,
Never a change coming over her face.
Up mad goes, Margaret dropping her pout,
Clasping her playmate she whispers in doubt.
Let's don't play and cry, it's too much like true,
Let's make up Dolly I ain't mad is you?

They're pushing credit cards. They don't take Visa, but they do take American Express, or they don't take this one, but they take that one, or you'd better bring this one, or if you forget who you are, look on your credit card; it will be there.

Nothing to declare
we need passports id-s and an
unrepeatable unique crucial numbers of a citizen
we look at those photographs with weary visa faces
that reflect a tiresome long standing in a queue
why can't we sit
we need hands palms a pointer sealed in an
unrepeatable unique crucial print of a citizen
why can't we make a handshake
we need this for the sake of neat info organization
so as not to be lost so as to be easily found
why is no one looking for us
we need health cards credit cards phone cards
business cards membership cards
why can't we discard them
we need birth school pre post BA MA PHD certificates
why can't we really sign them
we need a luggage a lift a transport a life
why can't we travel
why do we have
nothing to declare

China Pig
When the stiff wind blows
The flag don't wiggle
In the party of special things to do
I met the ace of love
She took me to her plantation
For the love without separation
In the party of special things to do
It could happen to me
It could happen to you
I met the ace of love
She said I want you to go
To the party of special things to do
And when you're through
I'll be right here waiting for you
Here take these sparks
So my distant cousins can get along with you
Watch out for the mirror man
And elixir sue
When I got to the party of special things to do
It wasn't hard to find Elixir Sue
I met all the cards
The wild cards
The one-eye jill
The red queen
She turned her head
You know what I mean
She turned it back and said
"I got a brand new game I want to lay on you"
I met them all
At the party of special things to do
When I was done
I was far from through
I returned to the ace of love
Now wouldn't you?
I met them all
The camel wore a nightie
The camel wore a nightie
At the party of special things to do
...elixir sue
It wasn't hard to find liquor at the do
I met all the cards
The wild cards
You know what I mean
Then she turned it back and said
"I got a brand new game I think I want to lay on you"
I met elixir sue
At the party of special things to do
It's so special

Thanks To You
(jesse winchester)
Well goodness is it really real
It would take a baby child to know the way I feel
On my flutter in the blue
I would take the credit but its thanks to you
Ooh yeah Im a sinner and
I aint some beginner
Ill uncork a pint of trouble
Sit down and drink a double
Im thirsty for somethin lighter
Thatll get me even tighter
And tighter until one day
I think I hear angels play
Well goodness is it really real
It would take a baby child to know the way I feel
On my flutter in the blue
I would take the credit but its thanks to you
Now someday up in glory
Well Ill weep and tell the story
To someone who will smile and say
Youre a mess but youre my child
Goodness is it real
It would take a baby child to know the way I feel
On my flutter in the blue
I would take the credit but its thanks to you
Now someday up in glory
Well Ill weep and tell the story
To someone who will smile and say
Youre a mess but youre my child
Goodness is it real
It would take a baby child to know the way I feel
On my flutter in the blue
I would take the credit but its thanks to you

What was she doing, there?
What was she doing, there?
Like some old bag lady.
Another displaced foreigner...
Sitting in Piccadilly, gardens
Manchester, today...
“With a toy pram
and 2 clothed dollies”
“One dressed in green,
a much larger in reddish brown”.
Simply put on the fountains cobbles...
Dressed in these old linens
Her dollies lying face down.
How odd? No one is looking...?
Not one sees the child’s pram.
Only big enough for a small, cat.
How odd these two babies,
look—displaced on the ground.
One displaced to her left.
Another to her right…
It’s the 9th of October—2011
the time tomorrows date 10.10am
on a grey, wet Sunday, morning.
And, her presence questions me?
Quietly, disturbs me.
Before I catch my 101 bus…
Lord what is real…?
What is sequential in a world of madness…?

A Diverted Tragedy
Gracie wuz allus a _careless_ tot;
But Gracie dearly loved her doll,
An' played wiv it on the winder-sill
'Way up-stairs, when she ought to _not_,
An' her muvver _telled_ her so an' all;
But she won't _mind_ what _she_ say--till,
First thing she know, her dolly fall
Clean spang out o' the winder plumb
Into the street! An' here Grace come
Down-stairs, two at a time, ist wild
An' a-screamin', 'Oh, my child! my child!'
Jule wuz a-bringin' their basket o' clo'es
Ist then into their hall down there,--
An' she ist stop' when Gracie bawl,
An' Jule she say 'She ist declare
She's ist in time!' An' what you s'pose?
She sets her basket down in the hall,
An' wite on top o' the snowy clo'es
Wuz Gracie's dolly a-layin' there
An' ist ain't bu'st ner hurt a-tall!
Nen Gracie smiled--ist _sobbed_ an' smiled--
An' cried, 'My child! my precious child!'

Angel
I call you up
You pick up
You call my bluff
On the card of love
You hold too close
Your hands to your chest
I cant read your eyes
But I confess
Its lonely far from you, oh
Even when youre right by me
Its only why I wait for you
To take my hand
Why do I beg like a child for your candy?
Why do I come after you like I do, I love you?
Wherever you are
I swear
Youll be my angel
You
I play my cards the best I can
But I lose my luck when youre not here
My darling heart
Wont you please give in?
I may be strong
But I want you back again
When youre not here its hard to pretend
Its all alright again
When youre not here love its hard to pretend
Its all alright but still
Why do I beg like a child for your candy?
Why do I run after you like I do, I love you?
Whatever you are
I swear
You be my angel, you
Watch the deck
Count your cards
Makes no sense
That Im always losing
When youre gone
Why do I beg like a child for your candy?
Why do I come after you like I do, I love you
Whatever you are
I swear
Youll be my angel, you
When youre gone

The 'Look-At-Me-And-What-I've-Got-Type
I've met a few snooty people in my days.
The ones who perceived themselves,
Better than others...
Because of a higher mortgage the had to pay.
Or the ones who bragged about their good credit.
And would announce the number of their credit cards,
To anyone for a quick display.
And those who were comfortable being who they are,
Always attracted my attention with admiration.
Those who were comfortable being who they are...
Were honest with themselves.
And to me this was a priceless possession.
People who talk about their stocks and bonds,
And investments they live on...
I don't fault them for what they believe is security.
People have their values and I respect that.
It is the ones self obsessed who appear to thrive best,
On masquerading their unhappiness....
With a projecting of pretentions the try to hide,
In a shallowness of emptiness.
The 'look-at-me-and-what-I've-got-type'.
You know...
The ones climbing down from their high horses,
Hoping not to be seen at night.
Since today the economy,
Has their mouths and lips shut firmly tight!
I've met a few snooty people in my days.
The ones who perceived themselves,
Better than others...
Because of a higher mortgage the had to pay.
Or the ones who bragged about their good credit.
And would announce the number of their credit cards,
To anyone for a quick display.
Well...

Always attracted my attention with admiration.

Fake ID
Someone go get the net
there is yet
another crazy
roaming
my padded cell
the brain dead
monitor
with its one eye
glaring at me
asks me to undress
as I struggle
to escape my
designer label
straightjacket
I need to let loose
I want to go shopping
online
send some flowers
to anyone who
knows me
maxing out
my credit cards
before
someone else
steals all of my
identities
and accuses me
of fraud
or of my being them___
