Indian Delight

It’s Friday night, Saturday Morning
In the middle of December,
It’s minus two and snowing
And I am hungry!

The fridge is empty
Not a stale pizza
Or even tined food in sight
Not a morsel to be had.

I am starving
My empty stomach rumbling
I’ll never get any sleep
But I’m not going out in this nasty weather.

What I thinking,
I’ll ring my local Indian
They’ll deliver any weather,
Any time and
It’s always piping hot.

Bunbury Afternoon

England in the summer is a pretty sight
Flowers in the meadow in the morning light
You know , satisfy the song inside
And the dream is making you care , evrybody smiles
And the dream is taking you there
Theres a little bit of heaven on the village green
And the bunbury eleven that you never see
And they take all comers in the month of june
On a friday , saturday , sunbury afternoon
On a friday , saturday , bunbury afternoon
On a friday , saturday , bunbury afternoon
They all say it couldnt be real
Shakin their head in wonder
Makin it long drive home
And when the sun and the moment is gone
Breakin that spell were under
We played a part in the heart of a beautiful memory
Theres a baby in a cradle and a wise old man
Young lovers happy to be hand in hand
Evrybody finds their way
They will learn the secret in time
Theres a ring on her finger
And a love that shows
And the bunbury eleven say the rumor goes
They re married in the church in the month of june
On a friday , saturday , sunbury afternoon
On a friday , saturday , bunbury afternoon
On a friday , saturday , bunbury afternoon
Theres a wind in the willows
When the day is done
People disappearing in the golden sun
You know , evrybody smiles
Theres a little bit of heaven on ....

Grey Skies In July

We are now well in to the month of July,
But above my head, there's a leaden sky.
For days on end, it has constantly rained,
And I must say that it's a right old pain.

Every time that I step out of my door,
The Heavens open and it begins to pour.
This awful weather is getting me down:
My once sunny smile has turned to a frown.

When it rains, it rains nearly all the day long;
For the middle of summer, it feels so wrong.
In July, we should be getting long days of sun,
But, so far, this month, we've had hardly none.

I hate these days which are dreary and dull;
With this wet weather, there is hardly a lull.
It was on the radio, that I heard one morning,
Half of Britain had severe weather warnings.

Around the sodden streets, everyone rushes.
Packed to full capacity, are our local buses.
I dare not leave home without my coat.
Very soon, I'll be needing to buy a boat!

Like many others, I don't mind confessing,
That I find this weather pretty depressing.
I want this weather to be over and done:
Rain every single day, is certainly no fun.

They say that sunny weather is on its way,
And I'm really looking forward to that day.
Let us all hope that, for the rest of July,
We'll see some sun and bright blue skies.

No Let Up In Sight

Everyone, has complaints about the
hot and humid weather, there seems
to be no let up, in sight. If by chance
you have air conditioning, you'll have
no problems, sleeping at night. When
your sleep is interrupted, you get up
feeling more tired, than you were the
night before. You have no pep or vigor
and you know, what kind of day, is
waiting in store. Very hot weather, has
a tendency to make tempers flare. You
can't let it take a hold on you, just do
your best to take it from there. All to
soon, the cold weather will be on it's
way and we'll find another reason, to
complain. So even though it's hot,
believe it or not, I'd rather have it this
way, than have a tremendous amount,
of rain!

They Went Everywhere Together

Like sky and weather
they went everywhere together

he was rain & she was cloud
he was sun & she was light
she was moon & he was night

like sky & weather
they went everywhere together

he was frost & she was ice
he was fog & she was mist

she was sunrise...he was sunset

he was the sun on a certain morning
she was the sun awakening that morning

like sky & weather
they went everywhere together

Gotta Weather The Storm

Friend fell into alcoholic maze
the kind who never ceases to amaze
leaving me with only words to say
sometimes man you gotta weather the storm.

Here's clue, he's got woman trouble
guess easy to say he's seen double
so I'm gonna lay it down again
sometimes man you gotta weather the storm.

Working hard all this year long
he can't tell right from wrong
so I'll ring it from day one
sometimes man you gotta weather the storm.

Swore aloud how he's thinking suicide
thinking aloud bout rising river tide
so I'll sing it from day two anew
sometimes man you gotta weather the storm.

Booze has turned his head around
think he's suicidal devil road bound
so I'll play it from day three
sometimes man you gotta weather the storm.

So I'm laying truth down the line
listen to these blues yours and mine
listen catch hold my repeated lines
sometimes man you gotta weather the storm.

Think it's worth sown in your mind
making black white stop you been blind
so I'll ring sing the twelve bar blues
sometimes man you gotta weather the storm.

Repeat sometimes man you, gotta weather the storm.

Empty Sky

I woke up this morning
I could barely breathe
Just an empty impression
In the bed there you used to be
I want a kiss from your lips
I want an eye for an eye
I woke up this morning to an empty sky
Empty sky, empty sky
I woke up this morning to an empty sky
Empty sky, empty sky
I woke up this morning to an empty sky
Blood on the streets
Blood flowin down
I hear the blood of my blood
Cryin from the ground
Empty sky, empty sky
I woke up this morning to an empty sky
Empty sky, empty sky
I woke up this morning to an empty sky
On the plains of jordan
I cut my bow from the wood
Of this tree of evil
Of this tree of good
I want a kiss from your lips
I want an eye for an eye
I woke up this morning to the empty sky

Its Easy To Blame The Weather

Sammy cahn / saul chaplin
Honestly Im glad its snowing
It helps to keep our friends from knowing
When they ask me why Im sad
Its easy to blame the weather
Its funny how the blinding snow flakes
Are right in time to hide my heartache
Let them ask me why Im sad
Its easy to blame the weather
When I think of the sun
It scares me
I wonder if I will pass
And springtime, I hear
Is early this year
Theyll see through me like glass
I see no reason for this weather
So let me be the first to make up
If a reason must be had
Its easy to blame the weather

Now Let Us Begin

man if he is true to be man, is more real if he is at first
less of himself, when he is empty, when he is emptied,
when he is emptying. It is like the stomach, you feel it more
when it is empty rather than when it is full
it speaks to you when it is hungry

it grunts
it growls
it even howls
and sometimes it whistles

than when it is bloated with so much food
and wine and desserts.Because in hunger, in the hopelessness
of our state, in the emptiness of our being
we know where we will place

everything.

we will know our dreams, we meet our hopes,
for the first time
we know precisely when to wish,
and where to put them

when we are emptying,
when we are emptied
and now we are sure when we are filling.

let us begin.

I Know Nothing About The Rain (With Apologies To T.S. Elliott,9/1/11)

Do you still love me, she asks
fragile moment, simple words
Fear and longing mingled like our breaths
hanging precariously in the air

People talk about the weather
To fill the savage spaces
Empty Silence, empty words
And we talk about the weather
What can I say
What do I know of the weather
Falling gently, scattered drops
What do I know of the rain

Do you still love me, she asks
In the interval between
What do I know of love
Falling gently, scattered drops

And in the rooms the women light as a feather
stand around talking about the weather
And I don't really know what to say
I know nothing about the rain

They took away
my money and bag
took away my
house and land
lay me on the sand.

I am here
near ganga
and in empty stomach.
I am here
near mahodadhi
and in empty stomach.
I am here
looking Nilachakra
alldays always
in empty stomach.

They snatch away
may language
They thrown me out
from the sky
they are my nearby.

who is there
outside my house
where is my earth
where is my worth.

Necktie

The Red Necktie.

He woke up, fully dressed but minus his tie, on a lumpy hotel bed
It was a down and out sort of local, the last semi civilized place
before sleeping rough. It reeked of sadness and stank of depravity.
He switched on the TV news, during the night a woman had been
brutally strangled with a tie. His heart sank, he sweated, stabbed
by fear but he couldn’t remember a thing, total black out; yet he
vaguely remembered angry voices and someone running in a back
alley. Should he ring the TV channel and ask what colour the tie?
Or should he call the police and give himself up? His tie was green
with black dots on. There was rumbling from an old fridge in
the room, he opened it in the hope of finding a cold beer…. No beer,
but wrapped neatly around a bottle of whisky, a red silk tie.

On More Saturday Night

One More Saturday Night
-----------------------
I went down to the mountain, I was drinkin' some wine,
looked up in the heavens Lord I saw a mighty sign,
written in fire across the heavens, plain as black and white;
Get prepared, there's gonna be a party tonight.
Uhuh, Hey! Saturday Night!
Yeh, uhuh one more Saturday night,
Hey saturday night !
Everybody's dancin' down the local armory
with a basement full of dynamite and light artillery.
The temperature keeps risin', everybody gittin' high;
come the rockin' stroke of midnite, the place is gonna fly.
Uhuh, Hey! Saturday Night!
Yeh, uhuh one more Saturday night,
Hey saturday night !
Turn on channel six, the President comes on the news,
says "I get no satisfaction, that's why I sing the blues."
These wives, they don't get crazy, Lord, they know just what to do,
crank up that old Victrola, put on them rockin' shoes.
Uhuh, Hey! Saturday Night!
Yeh, uhuh one more Saturday night,
Hey saturday night !
When God way up in Heaven, for whatever it was worth,
thought He'd have a big old party, thought He'd call it planet Earth.
Don't worry about tomorrow, Lord, you'll know it when it comes,
when the rock and roll music meets the risin' shinin' sun.
Uhuh, Hey! Saturday Night!
Yeh, uhuh one more Saturday night,
Hey saturday night !
Hey another Saturday night,
Hey another Saturday night,
Everybody gettin' right,
Hey another Saturday night,
One more saturday, one more Saturday night,
Hey another Saturday night,
Hey another Saturday night,
Hey another Saturday night,
One more saturday, one more saturday night.
Hey another Saturday night,
Hey another Saturday night,
Hey another Saturday night,
One more saturday, one more saturday night

Ch 02 The Morals Of Dervishes Story 22

It is related that a hermit consumed during one night ten mann of food and perused the whole Quran till morning. A pious fellow who had heard of this said: ‘It would have been more excellent if he had eaten half a loaf and slept till the morning.’

Keep thy interior empty of food
That thou mayest behold therein the light of marifet.
Thou art empty of wisdom for the reason
That thou art replete with food up to the nose.

I can't Rest even When I Sleep

I can’t rest even when sleep. My dreams are replays of my day. When I got up in the morning I saw my old man cuddling an empty bottle of E&J. While my mom lies with a bag of thawed frozen peas on her eye which she used when they were frozen to sooth the pain my drunken ass dad gave her when he slapped her. Then there’s lunchtime while everyone else was eating some form of fast-food I choked downed a dry piece of stale raisin bread and nuke warm public water fountain water. Dinner time hell lunch was dinner and as for prime time TV the only thing I saw on must see TV was my old man and mom fighting until dad passed out same channel, same time ever night. I can’t rest even when I sleep. My dreams are a replay of my day.

Good Weather

This good weather ruined me,
I resigned in such a weather
From my government job.
I got used to tobacco in such a weather,
I fell in love in such a weather;
I forgot to take home bread and salt
In such a weather;
My disease of writing poems
Recurred in such a weather;
This good weather ruined me.

Gonna find another place with a neon light

Saturday

Saturday began just the same as other days
But ended up different in many ways
Love is in my world since saturday
Mornin came but somehow it didnt seem the same
The sadness of friday had somehow changed
To the happy sounds of saturday
Saturday, ever-loving saturday
I whistle to bluebirds
I tried to tell them how you brought me sunshine
My heads filled with new words
That sing to the sounds of happy day after friday
(*) come and see the flowers of love she gave to me
The touches of laughter and harmony
To the happy sounds of saturday
Saturday, ever-loving saturday
My heads full of new words
Sing to the sounds of the day after friday
Day after friday
Repeat (*)
Saturday, saturday, ever-loving saturday

Fair Weather Faith

Prentending to act so serene
On your so called submissive knees
A shopping list of begging pleas
Adds to your complacencies
As soon as the sun dont shine your way
And youre saving it all up that rainy day
Its a matter of time before you get down n pray
Fair weather faith - protect me from the storm
Fair weather faith - gonna right all my wrongs
Fair weather faith - you know Im doing alright
Fair weather faith - out of mind, out of sight
Well I wonder if the man upstairs
Will bother to lend an ear
If you took the time to share
Another one of your puppet prayers
I aint talkin bout the weather

Run the race and win a prize,

But he who joins himself to a prostitute is in one body with her.
