In The Eyes Of A Soldier

Everyday I stand up for whats right.
If there is something that needs to be done, I do it.
I fight for my life everyday.
Waiting for the victory bell, but still no sound.
Respect is what I deserve and serving my country is what I do.
Waiting for the call.
I wear the colors not because I have to, but because I'm proud.
I fight to keep my friends and loved ones safe.
It's a 24 hour job, but I have no regrets.
I am a soldier in so many ways.
The soldier life did not choose me.
I chose to become a soldier.
If I'm going to the frontline, I'll be ready.
I'm not afraid to die for my country.
I am strong!

Soldier's Ghost

I bled for you - would you for me?

I blessed a skin in blazing fuel
Then took a bullet in a duel of
‘He or I to Die.'

I often question ‘Why? '
Do you?

My country was my life to give -
Would you for country cease to live?
Sinking in a mire of death,
You have no choice -
So while you're still alive,
Rejoice!

I cried in failure - did you care?
And as I waned, were you aware of
What I did -?
Fighting for my country while you hid
Behind your comfort back at home?

Still relaxed?
My wife and child are fading at the tomb.

Little Soldier Boy

Little Soldier boy, fight hard.
Fight for your country, your family, your friends.
Fight for me, little soldier boy.
Keep your head high, your spirit strong.

Be safe, little soldier boy.
Return in one piece.
And if the Lord should take you home,
then so be it.

We love you, little soldier boy.
We pray for you every night.
And hope to hold you tight soon.
I love my little soldier boy.

Come home little soldier boy.
Come back to your family.
Come back to me.
My little soldier boy.

Come home soon.

What You Find

There is discipline in A Soldier
you can see it when he walks,
There is honor in A Soldier
you hear it when he talks.
There is courage in A Soldier
you can see it in his eyes,
There is loyalty in A Soldier
that he will not compromise.
There is something in A Soldier
that makes him stand apart,
There is strength in A Soldier
that beats from his heart.
A Soldier isn't a title any man
can be hired to do,
A Soldier is the soul of that man
buried deep inside of you.
A Soldier's job isn't finished after
an 8 hour day or a 40 hour week,
A Soldier is always A Soldier
even while he sleeps.
A Soldier serves his country first
and his life is left behind,
A Soldier has to sacrifice what
comes first in a civilian's mind.
If you are civilian -
I am saying this to you.....
next time you see A Soldier
remember what they do.
A Soldier is the reason our land
is 'Home of the free',
A Soldier is the one that is brave
protecting you and me.
If you are A Soldier -
I am saying this to you.....
Thank God for EVERY SOLDIER
Thank God for what YOU do!

Deaf Gunpowder

Come on soldier.
Soldier?
Get off of your battlefield
Let me take you to a place
Where your weapons are sealed.

Come on soldier.
Soldier?
Look me in the eye
Your heart hasn’t chosen to be here
Then why are you here?
Ask yourself why.

Come on soldier.
Soldier?
It’s time to breathe
It’s time to stop fighting for your life,
For something you don’t believe.

Hey soldier?
Soldier?
I do understand
It wasn’t your choice to be here
But you chose not to fight for that;
You chose to fight for someone else.
That is why in life you were not alive
But when you died,
That was when you started to breathe.

Hey soldier?
Soldier?
I know you cannot hear
Because you strived
You are alive
To you death will never come near.

Brave Little Soldier

Im a brave little soldier
I must be bold and strong
A brave little soldier
And I must carry on
Im a brave little soldier
A brave little soldier
Im a brave little soldier
I must fight, I must win
Im a brave little soldier
Through hell and back again
Im a brave little soldier
A brave little soldier
Per rum, pum, pum
Per rum, pum, pum
Per rum, pum, pum, pum, pum
Ye though I am marching through the valley filled with fear
My steps are sure and sturdy and my aim is straight and clear
The enemy is stalking me just waiting for the kill
Like david slewed galiath
I will claim this battle field
Im a brave little soldier
I must do what I can
Im a brave little soldier
And I must take a stand
Im a brave little soldier
A brave little soldier
Marching, marching onward
Searching out the light of truth
I did not start the war
But its a battle I cant lose
Faith will be my armor
And love my sword and shield
I must defeat the enemy
I will, I will, I will
A brave little soldier
I must be bold and strong
A brave little soldier
And I must carry on
A brave little soldier
A brave little soldier
Im a brave little soldier
A brave little soldier
Brave, little soldier

A Soldiers Dream

As we see every soldier fight
we think why
well deep in every soldier
they had a dream
a dream of fighting for the freedom of his country
and a dream for fighting and coming home to his wife
because every soldier wants to find that iner rage
that will make him live through that war
as we see every soldier fight
we stand with our flag held high
and say thanks
for putting your life on the line for the freedom our country deserves

Mother’s Cry of Late

Where for art thou, soldier?
Out East? West? –
And when? –
What part your rabid history?
And why? –
What wrought your destiny? –
For whom
You’d wreak your enmity –
I crave your fate to pen!

What comprehension of the
Order? –
‘Listen up! you men!
Raze to ground the taken land!
See they die and e’er you’ll stand, for
Death is but a grain of sand –
The mighty triumph, medal grand!

Now go you well!
Amen! ’

What sight upon the bloody lie
Of war? – your doubtful fate.

‘Where for art thou, soldier? ’ –
Your mother’s cry of late.

Promise Of A Lie

Go to war young soldier,
Your glory will be praised.
Go to war young soldier,
Your home will stay the same.

Fight for us young soldier,
worry naught about your love.
Fight for us young soldier,
She waits for your return.

Welcome home young soldier,
Heres the medal upon your chest.
Welcome home young soldier,
Your life is now a mess.

Go away young soldier,
We have no more use for you.
Go away young soldier,
Till we call again for you.

American Soldier

American Soldier

When I say... 'I am an American Soldier'

I'm not shouting I'm better than you.

I'm whispering, I was a boy, and now

find myself a man.

When I say... 'I am an American

Soldier'

I speak not only of this with pride

I'm also confessing that I stumble,

make mistakes,

And need competent leadership to

help guide me,

So I in turn,

can be a competent leader.

When I say... 'I am an American

Soldier'

I'm not trying to be strong,

I'm professing that I am weak and

need the strength of my peers and

country,

To help carry me on.

When I say... 'I am an American

Soldier'

I'm not bragging of past successes

I'm admitting I have failed in the past

Admitted the mistakes and tried to

right the wrongs.

When I say... 'I am an American

Soldier'

I'm not claiming to be perfect,

My flaws are far too visible

But my country needs me,

and I soldier on.

When I say... 'I am an American

Soldier'

I can still feel the sting of pain, from

seeing those that I care about die,

While we fight for those that we love.

I have my share of heartaches,

So I call upon the American People to

help guide our soldiers, when home

When I say... 'I am an American

Soldier'

I'm not better than thou,

I'm just a simple man,

Who was called upon by his country

to fight.

So You Want To Be A Soldier

So you want to be a soldier
And learn those fighting moves;
Be a member of a team
In the soldier's school.

So you want to be a soldier
And go far from your home,
And learn there how to be a man
As you fight and roam.

So you want to be a soldier
And hold your buddy's hand,
As they breathe their final,
There on some mortal sand.

So you want to be a soldier
And call the road your bed,
And never know just when or how
You'll lay down your tired head.

So you want to be a soldier
Be buried in some plot-
Maybe far from your hometown,
After you have fought.

So you want to be a soldier-
Well there's no finer choice,
Than giving so unselfishly
To freedoms song, your voice.

You want to be a soldier;
And you could do much worse;
And choose the cowards way to go
And walk, behind the hearse.

But your name they'll remember,
As they speak of you with awe;
And wonder at your bravery,
And wonder what you saw.

Many men will shake your hand
And thank you for their freedom,
They'll say it is a gift from god
That you are still breathing.

You'll live more than other men-
And suffer much more too,
But in the end, you'll count it as
The best thing you could do.

And the biggest thank you,
That you will ever receive,
Is in the eyes of loved ones-
When you're back home again.

So if you know an older soldier,
Please shake his hand today
And tell him that you're grateful
He chose the soldier's way.

Our Son

Our Son the Soldier
How great a man he must be
To be joined in the fight to
set another part of the world free

Our Son the Soldier
So very proud of you we are
To all of us who love you,
you will always be our shining star

Our Son the Soldier
So far from home and in a foreign place
Just close your eyes to
see a familiar smiling face

Our Son the Soldier
So very far away
We will all be waiting with open
arms on your coming home day

Soldiers Heart

sir
i am no normal person
i was no normal child
brought up in the country
one view in my mind
this country we live in
this place we call home
this is my england
with honour to the thrown
i'd fight for queen and country
if the call was made
i'd fight under the flag
this is my way
people think im crazy
people think im mad
this is no normal heart
it is the heart of the soldier
born and bred a soldier
the title i never took
instead im known as police officer
a baton is my rifle
different colour uniform
my boots the same as all the soldiers
my heart the sames as theirs
so when you ask me my name sir
the reply that you will get
i am but a soldier sir
and that i will never forget

The Patriot Returns

Battered and broken I return to you
My time spent in battle is finally through
My country served proudly, I stood the test
I fought side by side with our nations best

I am A soldier, A patriot, true to the cause
My American heart beats without pause
Any time any place any where
This soldier will stand tall and be there

I love my country and will protect her at all cost
I fight for the old, the young, the weak and the lost
I fight for an ideal that is greater than I
I don’t complain, or whine or ask why

But for the time being I am home with you
My duty served my task is thru
But I’ll be watching, over there and over here
And I’ll be putting a hand to my ear

For if ever this soldier is again called to fight
I’ll lace up my boots and do what’s right
Look out world the Devil Dogs are on hand
Ready to fight in the air, on the sea or on land

I was a Soldier once

Old, tired, physically worn out,
With every move my muscles shout.
Woodworking, gardening, lazing about,
nothing to do but widdle and pout.

I was a Soldier once, large and strong,
I was a Soldier once, doing no wrong.
I was a Soldier once, fighting your war,
I was a Soldier once, mighty to the core.

I sit behind a desk now, slowly getting fat,
Knowing where I should really be settling my hat.
This civilian life I live, is so deadly to me,
I should, again, be a soldier, a sight to see.

I was a Soldier once, Yes Sir, No Sir, anything you say Sir.
I was a Soldier once; it was the life I preferred.
I was a Soldier once, leading from the saddle.
I was a Soldier once, living in my battle rattle.

Those that have never been one shall never know.
Those that put them down can basically go blow.
In this day and age, Soldiers protect our Freedom
In this day and age, everyone should be one.
I know this because,

I was a Soldier once, protecting you and yours.
I was a Soldier once, with back to back fighting tours.
I was a Soldier once, dying for the American way.
and although I was a Soldier once,
I should be a Soldier Now, fighting for you every day.

Soldier On...

Soldier On....

My life's been full of regrets from the past,
But i stand tall and continue to last.
I will not give up at the fight of day,
Soldier on i must.....and pave the way.

I have turned a new leaf in this journey called living,
Soldier on i must and never stop giving.
I share my story and continue to pray,
and ask the Lord to show me and say.....
Soldier on my child.....and i will carry you the extra mile.

This Soldier

This soldier is my hero.
He is the one i get my strength from
He is strong; like two body builders put together.
He is brave and fearless.

This soldier is my cousin.
The memories we have together mean more to me
Than anything in the world.
He is the one who I pray for at night.

This soldier is fighting right now.
With the gun in his hand, he fires.
Bang, bang, bang,
Shots fire from his gun as his body tenses up.
Is he as scared as I am?

This soldier is my soldier,
Without him, I wouldn't be the same.
My soldier is the one I miss,
The one I haven't seen since 3rd grade.

This soldier is proud.
He fights for his own life, just to keep us safe.
He is the one that I want to know,
That he is my hero for life.

I, The Soldier

I killed a man today, did not know his name
I did not know his history, I am the one to blame
I searched his pocket for grenades and guns
Found a photo of his three little children having fun
His body is lying there still and cold, no breath of air
I look in his eyes, I am not allowed to ask if it's fair
But I have to be strong because I am a soldier at front
And I fight for my countrymen and I am a part of this man hunt

I am glad I am alive and I am longing to meet my wife
My child who must be waiting for me, they are my life
I wish I could hug them, cuddle them for eternity
Till I could feel the distance no more sneaking inside of me
But I have to be strong because I am a soldier at front
And I fight for my countrymen and I am a part of this man hunt

I have not seen my home for months and it is eating me inside
I have forgotten the taste of food and the looks of a butter knife
I am loaded with weapons and ammunitions push my shoulders down
But I have to walk, for my country, for my state, for my town
We don't sleep sound at night with the fears of confrontation
Now my rifle is my body part and bullets are my bourbon
But I have to be strong because I am a soldier at front
And I fight for my countrymen and I am a part of this man hunt

I don't want to kill anybody, it haunts me
At night I can feel their spirit, hallucinations I see
I look in the mirror and see only blood and corpses around
The cries of widows and orphans is the only sound
The nights are scary with in my sleep deprived eyes
The days are frightening trying to save what's left of my life
But I have to be strong because I am a soldier at front
And I fight for my countrymen and I am a part of this man hunt

I do this for my country but when I will be back
No one thanks me, there is no one to pat my back
They don't realize the nights I have lost so they could sleep
The wounds I have endured so that they could have treats
They don't see the picture, they are just happy for a movie
When hundred lost lives so that they can be free
I begin to wonder, if it is really overrated to be a soldier
The picture must be worth a thousand words and much bigger
I wonder who am I, what am I doing away from home, my home
But I fight, because I am a soldier, a protector of the prone
I am the righteous protecting what is right and worthy of dying for
I live for my family, I die for my country, my men, my corps.

Lost Soldier Boy

I watched him
as he marched off to go fight
in that great Civil War
that I now see as nothing
but foolishness.

He had turned back
to wave at me
and tell me not to worry.
He reminded me
to write him every single day,
and promised me
that he would do the same.

Many months I waited.
I wrote him everyday,
just like I had promised.
How many letter he actually recieved
I will never know.
I told him of the town.
Of his little sister being married.
Oh they were a glorious couple.
So happy so true.
Many months passed me by
while I waited
waited for my lost soldier boy.

Time dragged on
and I had not heard from my soldier boy.
There was talk
that the war would soon be over.
My family beseeched me to move on.
'He's more than likely dead.'
They would say
'You need to live your life.'
But I just couldn't.
And so I kept waiting
waiting for my lost soldier boy.

Then the war finally ended.
And all the boys
came home as men.
And we celebrated our defeat
for the war was over
and no more had to die.
But I could not celebrate
for there was one
who did not come home.
It was my dear
lost soldier boy.
