When they told me
not to use my car for a month.
I smiled and thought,
a blessing in disguise,
but now I’m not so sure.
Walking a couple of miles each day
to get from point A to B,

I had to use Public Transport.

leave them for a while,
so they can chew on the cud.

Late as in yesterdays,
My morn minutes creep,
Tensed under the dew drops,
At country bus-stop.
Boys young dream;
Girls shy droop;
All wait while minds roam,
Till the bus does stop.
Buses come, and buses go,
Never moved the stop as village mine.
Shops two, and the tea stall one are
Breathing through the lungs of rustics.
Sellers, workers, and beggars;
At the bus-stop all roost,
Barter their experiences,
Then flit to their worms fast.

As I walk in this rain
I start pondering
Oh how I wish life was easy
Oh how I wish there was no complications in life

The Long Journey
The Long Journey
It’s evening the traffic is slow in front of me
I’m a part of a ruby necklace, can’t escape.
So tired falling asleep. A seagull with peeked cap knocks
on the window, carry on.
Across a long bridge I just know it will fall dawn
an earthquake, thousands of cars falling into the sea,
so unjust we’ll drown together whilst fighting
for something that floats and we can hold on to.
And then the rain it never stops, cars driving hundred miles an hour,
water planning no breaks. Will I ever reach Algarve?
Stop at a cafe, windows cry and I have no words of comfort,
nothing I can say to stop their misery.
I’m hungry but can’t afford to eat, all money gone to petrol.
Will I ever get home?
